It was $1 more to get a larger unit and pay reg. price than taking the discounted deal. The unit I got was a 10x10 inside & climate controlled. The unit was as described and clean. They provide the lock in the initial signup process. Employee was very nice and curious. Download the app, easier to open the game with a push of the button instead of remembering your code and possibly having to get in and out of the vehicle if driving a rental truck. read more

Let's just say that the process was seamless. I was able to reserve a unit online, read their disclosures, sign the rental agreement, and make a payment prior to moving in. The app makes everything convenient. I was able to get the unit for 50% off, however there is an admin fee and you must have insurance to store your items. Either way, the 5×10 is their small unit, and its about the size of a walk in closet. It was clean and ready with the lock included for an additional 19.00. Their customer service was really nice. I was able to chat with them online and When I called, I spoke with Elise, she was really sweet. I feel comfortable leaving my items there and their rates aren't too expensive. read more

My unit had mice in it. I contacted the manager 3 times and they did nothing about it. A lot of my things were ruined.

Well let's just say don't fall for that "1st month move in $1!" Definitely not the truth! Moved in February 20th and not even 10 days later which I wasn't even notified about my credit card on file was charged a "perforated rate". Then why not advertise move in $1 only if it is on the 1st! Store manager has an attitude that's not professional and the substitute one is worse. The district manager is somewhat better but takes months for accounts to reflect on what was promised since they did not have the size I reserved. Never ever had this much issues with a storage! read more

I really like this facility. Sherise always has a smile and a greeting for me when I go in person to make my payment. When I was closing my second unit Sherise stayed after 6pm to allow me to close out that unit with her. It has been a great experience for me at the Chicago St. location. Sent to collections over a debt that is not owed On 9/30/2017, my father was removing my contents from my storage unit (#0189) so as not to have anything there during any day in October, therefore avoiding storage charges. At that moment, a Caucasian female Public Storage employee who was doing their rounds in the facility walked past and asked if he was moving out. He confirmed and said he just had to dispose of a broken desk. The employee told him not to worry about it removing it and that he could leave it in the unit so long as the door was left open and unlocked for Public Storage to dispose of it for him. He thanked her for her generosity, did as she instructed and left. No one has accessed the facility using my gate code after that date and Public Storage has confirmed this. On 10/10/2017, I received an email with a bill for $237.00 for storage in the month of October which I felt was inaccurate but would soon be corrected. After noticing that I hadn't received further communications on 10/18/2017, I called the facility to look into this outstanding balance and confirm that it was inaccurate. This time I spoke to a male representative who had some trouble accessing my account and told me he would call me back. He called me back the same day and told me that he didn't see anything in his system stating that I owed them money and that I could delete or dispose of any communications saying I had an outstanding balance with Public Storage. I kept the email even though two people had already told me that I would owe nothing for October. I also have my call logs from the phone company, and I invite Public Storage to check their call logs and the employees that worked on the dates provided to corroborate my story. Your Desired Resolution: I want the balance due of $237.00 removed due to the incorrect information provided to us as a customer of Public Storage by not one, but two Public Storage employees. This means removing the balance due from collections as well and paying for any repairs or damages made to my credit as a result if this takes long enough to impact my credit score. As a general manager myself, I know how simple this solution is and how insignificant this balance is in contrast with good and ethical customer service. I have the proof and finances that I need to expand my complaint to every possible social and digital resource so that others don't have to go through the same predatory experience that I have if necessary, but I have faith that the company will do the right thing. read more

One star speaks for itself, but I'll elaborate. I have had a unit here over the past several years storing things that will not fit in our small home. Lately something is amiss. We have never had issues with nosey employees until recently. I'm not aware of any policy stating that PS is to be given detailed notification of ALL items inside the storage units. We were confronted very rudely and the employee demanded information about what is in out unit and told us it was policy that she had to be told. Do you need to know the type of metal my dresser knobs are made of too?!? When we came back with the info she requested and confronted the employee about the "policy" in front of another new employee, she changed her tune and changed her story a few times. After being accused of being thieves with stolen items in our unit after having been loyal customers renting from this location for quite a few years with no problems until this year, we will be taking our business elsewhere... Who wants to deal with rude and nosey employees anyhow? I would recommend any storage other than this place. We found a very nice place about ten minutes down the road and are very happy there instead. If I could give negative stars, I most definitely would. read more

Don't let the special internet prices fool you. My husband and I rented a unit from there back in early December of 2016. We got a special online price that is good for as long as we have the unit. Well, they just raised our storage price by I believe $30. My husband went there and ask them and the office said they have nothing to do with that he needed to call the CA headquarters. He calls them and their response was they are allowed to raise our rent once a year. They raised it in 4 months not in a year. read more
