I stored my stuff there for 3 months. When I went back to get my stuff, the whole unit was covered in thick dust. It took me hours to clean my belongings. In addition, my vehicle also got a lot of dust and had to be professionally cleaned. The explanation of the company was that they had to buff the floor, and they had no way to protect customers' belongings from dusts caused by buffing the floor. I find this explanation utterly absurd. Would you have any confidence storing anything of value with PublicStorage after all this happened? What's more absurd is that they wanted me to pay for the rest of month. I would not even store anything there 1 more minute! read more

Beware if you call the toll free number with questions about their storage units. High pressure sales agents are on the line to get you to rent a unit more so than to just answer your questions. I decided to cancel within an hour of making the reservation and was told the $29 application fee is nonrefundable. When I do rent a space, this probably won't be the company for me. read more

I have always used public storage and let me tell you I will never go back. I had to rent a 10x15 unit from public storage so I made a online reservation a month before online to make sure I could lock-in the date. The website told me I had no obligation to pay at that time and I could pay on my move-in date. The unit was going to be $102 or so a month because the deal online was $92 a month so with taxes and insurance that was like $15 that's what it was which is a good deal for the size and all. Fast forward a month and I show up at 3:35ish pm (my move in appointment I had confirmed was at 3:30 but traffic) no one was in, there was no sign or nothing. 4 people were waiting outside to move in. We call customer service and they just tell us the manager is probably helping another guest and that we can't complete the reservation online anymore because each location reservation is different. Okay. We wait until about 4:30. We leave because it's really hot and humid and get gas to come back. Come back at 5:20 pm. The storage unit place tells you everywhere they close at 9pm but online it states that location closes at 6pm. Still. Not one person there. I have to leave to pick up my kids and then call customer service again to make sure they give me the same rate when I come back tomorrow and I get told that my unit was sold to someone else a while ago and a lecture about how I should have paid in advanced and that's why I lost it. No apologies or anything. Just straight up you messed up. So I ask her what was the point of a reservation then and she says it was just a slight "hold". I hung up. read more

My rent started out at $50 for a 5x5 storage unit in Oct 2021. In Apr 2022, it went up to $63, and then I found out it would rise again in Oct 2022 to $69. I decided to vacate and Life Storage was offering the same space for $25. Unfortunately, I couldn't get to the storage space until Oct 1 although I set up my vacate notice on Sep 30. I was able to move everything out before midday on Oct 1. That morning I received an email saying if I changed my mind about vacating, I could pay $62.50/mo. That's less than I was paying before the rate hike that caused me to want to move in the first place. Then I got a call saying that I would still have to pay for the entire month of Oct because I was still using the unit on the 1st. I decided to change my vacate date to 10/31 since I was being charged for the whole month. I go back to the email offering me $62.50 to stay and tried to click on the link. I was then told that they were no longer honoring that offer (no deadline to take the offer was mentioned in the email). Since I felt like they do not value current customers, I just changed my vacate date back to 10/1 and didn't look back. Now I'm getting "Do not reply" emails saying I will be charged late fees if I don't pay the entire $69. I tried to send a few emails thru their app to negotiate with someone since I barely used a whole day in the entire month. No one would respond. I finally attempted to chat with someone after I looked up the going rate for the 5x5 unit on their app and was offered $45 for what was most likely MY unit! Not even a full 2 weeks later!? I chatted with Crystal who simply kept repeating there was nothing she could do for me because I vacated but if I wanted to rent another unit to get the $45 rate I saw online, I was welcome to do that. I would still owe the past due $69 tho. She was very rude throughout the exchange. Then when I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that nobody will do anything for me because I vacated (in the same sentence where she gave me a phone number to speak to a supervisor). She kept saying if I was still in the unit, they would try to help me. I told her she was being discourteous. She said, "I'm sorry you feel that way" then "If there's nothing else, it was a pleasure assisting you" and she ended the chat so I couldn't respond any further. Public Storage does not care about current customers. There is no reward for staying with them (until you decide to leave) and then they insult you by offering a rate lower than the one you were already paying before they did the rate hike. They are more concerned with baiting new customers so they can do rate hikes on them once they get them in. I'm pretty sure they were offering my unit for $45 while telling me I could rent it again if I wanted good customer service. All I want to do is pay for what I used. I could understand if Public Storage was out some money for Oct because I vacated on Oct 1, but they had no trouble renting out my unit immediately. read more

Ms Gladys was one of the kindest people I've met in my life and I'm in the customer service business as well. She was over accommodating which was such a welcome surprise to everything that is going on today with hatred. She was very happy to meet us, help us and further ask us to let her know if we should require anything further Ms Gladys, you are a huge ray of sunshine and I hope I see you every time I stop in. Have been using this location for years now for business. Miss Barbara is the best there is. Recently had an issue where a customer mistook my unit for hers and broke the key off in the lock. Gladys was filling and did everything she could to help me. When Miss Barbara came back she continued to help until the issue was resolved and could not have been friendlier or more helpful thru it.
