The good: Woman at the front desk was very helpful and kind. She could see I was losing it. The bad: This location was not build with snow in mind. The drive up outdoor units need to be dug out and then won't close. Bring a shovel and be prepared to wrestle with the door and lock. I moved to a storage facility near by that took snow into consideration and built their units raised off the ground, rolling doors that have some forgiveness of 1/2 an inch to account for snow built up. read more

I rented a unit at this Public Storage location for 2 years and never missed a single payment. I was a loyal, problem-free customer. Despite that, my rent was increased by $30 every THREE months, effectively tripling the annual cost for a very small unit. What makes this even more insulting is that the exact same size unit was being advertised to new customers for 1/4 of what I was paying. That tells me very clearly how this company treats loyalty: they punish existing customers while baiting new ones with lower prices. I raised this issue and was told a district manager would call me to discuss and make an adjustment. That call never happened. No district manager could spare five minutes to contact a long term, consistently paying customer. The on site service was just as bad. One employee, Amanda, was extremely unprofessional, dismissive, and rude, making an already frustrating situation worse. Her behavior was completely inappropriate for a customer facing role. In contrast, Ashley was the only employee who showed professionalism, courtesy, and basic decency--and she deserves credit for that. Overall, this location demonstrates predatory pricing practices, terrible customer service, and zero respect for loyal customers. After two years of dependable business, I was treated as disposable. I would strongly caution anyone considering this location to think twice, especially if you plan to stay longer than the introductory rate period. read more

I've been using Public Storage for the last couple months while moving across the country and I can honestly say it's been the most convenient and hassle free experience. One issue is that the gate opening feature from your phone doesn't work sometimes, but other than that it truly was so easy getting set up online. Everything was situated with the unit when I arrived including a lock they provided for an extra fee that came with three keys. Prices are fair and will use them again if I ever need to! read more

Yes thanks to the nicest people here at this location, I have been able to keep my things nicely for over 20 years now! I went from a 10x10 to a 10x30 to a 10x15 and now back to the 10x 30 since 1988 and could not be a happier client! The property is well maintained and even in the WORST weather, remains accessible. The new overhead doors really are great and work (at least mine have) perfectly. Katie is a dream, she is always a willing manager with time for the tenants and was very helpful for my move! I would love some feedback! I am very disappointed to write this as my initial experience with this facility was positive. My story: I initially rented 2 units. Robin and her daughter Jessica were very kind and helpful. They are no longer with the company as of June. I emptied one of my units at the end of May and spoke with Robin about it. When I emptied my unit out, I locked it and dropped the keys off to the office. There was no one in the office, so I put the keys in the letter drop through the door. I was never told that I was responsible to keep the lock on the unit after emptying. I would have no need for the small circular lock constructed just for that storage facility. The office person, Robin, was aware that I emptied and dropped off my keys so I thought all was well when it was done. When I received a notification the following month (June) that I needed to pay my bill for 2 units, I called to rectify the mistake. I spoke with Robin who assured me that she would talk to the higher ups and take care of it. I was asked to pay for both units and that my acct for the current full unit would receive a credit the following month. I was okay with that. In July, I received a bill for both units again. I had not received the credit I was told I was going to receive. Robin was now gone as was Jessica. I called several times, spoke with several people who shared that comments weren't kept and they would update my information and my story checked out (because my keys were left in the mail slot still) and was told that the District Manager, Matt, would take care of it. Stephanie (one of the people I dealt with) was VERY helpful and walked me through paying on my correct unit by acct# and told me that the empty unit's charge would be credited to my full unit for August per the DM because it was their error. August comes....yup. I get calls, texts and emails that I need to pay my bill and am being charged late fees. I called and spoke with someone who assured me it would be taken care of. I was ASSURED it was taken care of. It is now almost September and not only has it NOT been taken care of, but I am being charged AGAIN and my full unit has been ceased! The credit was never transferred to my full unit's account and when I went to get something out of my storage unit last week, my lock was gone and I was told they didn't process the credit correctly, that it would credit to September and if I wanted to gain access to my belongings, I would not only have to pay again, but they are requiring me to pay LATE CHARGES per the District Manager, Matt! What kind of customer service is this???? It's been their mistake this whole time and I am being denied access to my belongings and charged late fees? I am beside myself as to what to do. I was told which unit to pay for by acct# and that the empty unit's charge would be reversed because it was their error. Should I contact a lawyer? Anyone have any recommendations? I initially wanted to reserve a unit with Public Storage because of their competitive prices and well as great reviews on their website. They put up the facade that they were a professional establishment when they called me twice to confirm my reservation for a 5X5 unit at this location. The first time as soon as I reserved the space, two weeks in advance; and the second time the day before my move-in date to confirm that all the details were set before I moved my belongings to their storage unit. However, this facade completely deteriorated when I was met with the worker who greeted me at the storage facility. When I introduced myself and my reservation to her she, without remorse, notified me that there were no 5X5 units left. Confused because the previous day I was given a call to confirm this 5X5 unit and the time I would come questioned what had happened. She told me she wasn't sure, but the way the reservation works is that I would reserve the price of the unit rather than the unit itself. She notified me that the only other options she had were 10x10 and 10x15 remaining. I asked her since due to Public Storage's policy of the reserved prices if this policy would apply for these larger units. [In the reservation it said I would pay 25$ for the first month and 44$ for the remaining months] She said this would not be the case because they were the last two units and therefore they NEEDED to be charged at full price. [150$ a month] This was the only explanation she gave me on why Public Storage policies changed almost instantly. She then preceded to ask me what I am storing and questioned whether or not I needed more storage space, as if I would find random things to store to justify the unit upgrade. This price increase is extremely unprofessional and downright shady due to the lack of formality and documentation that this could be done. Obviously annoyed I went to a competitor and found a much better establishment instead of Public Storage. When talking to them about their reservation policy they told me that when reservations are put in, the listing no longer appears on the website to prevent this from happening. I would not trust my belongings with an establishment who change the rules on the spot to benefit themselves over their customers. read more

I am only giving this a star because the staff that I have encountered are pleasant. However, the prices of the unit are astronomical and the "owner" or " manager" allows no forgiveness for a payment 4 days late. Even during this pandemic when finances are tricky. I have asked, they say they will put in for it, the manager has to approve and it will be taken off the next months bill. He will not approve. $42 for a late fee, on top of $220 for the unit. Seems like a bit much. I just have a hard time with people that can't understand/ forgive human error. Also monthly rent just went up. I will have to shop around. read more

I made a reservation for 1:00 pm on a Saturday to get a rental unit at this location. Office hours say 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. I got to the place at around 12:00 am and the office was locked, no one was there and we could not get a hold of anyone. There was a sign saying back at 2:00 pm. Since we were early to our reservation, we grabbed lunch and waited until 1:00 (and then 2:00). Nobody showed up. I ended up getting a last minute unit at a competitor at around 3:00 (everything worked out there). It's around 5:00 pm and they haven't even called back. Without getting a unit at another place, I would have been stranded. At the end of the day, I wasted a few miles and a few hours and I got nothing. This place doesn't even deserve the one star given. read more

My wife made a reservation for a 10 x 10 on a Thursday night. That Saturday we moved the first load in, and discover that the door is not lockable. Apparently they had auctioned off the unit at some point and had to cut-off the security cover and one of the hasps, leaving only one hasp. So even with a lock on it, I could use my hand and open the unit. A bigger lock made it a bit tougher, but anyone with a screwdriver could still easily open it. When I went to the office and said we can't use the locker because of this, we were told that only two other units were available, both of which were 10 x 15's. I asked if we could get one of those for the same rate and we'd move the stuff again when a 10 x 10 became available, or we would start paying the higher rate when they ran out of 10 x 15's (because we'd be occupying a unit that they could rent to someone else). I thought this was fair given we couldn't use the unit we had reserved and we certainly didn't need the space (even the 10 x 10 was over kill for us). Office staff (who by the way were terrific!) didn't see why not, but called /texted the owner to double check if they could do that. After waiting around for a while, we decided to get a second load because of loosing so much time. Owner had called while we were away and said no, they couldn't do that. I was surprised; not great customer service if you ask me. I had even sent pictures of the hasp showing that it was not lockable. But since we were stuck and had to move out that day with limited time being available, I paid the extra $30 for a 10 x 15. Had I had more time, I would have gone else where at that point. But what really got me upset and why I decided to write this review, is that after getting home, I mention all this to my wife and she says the hasp being a problem was pointed out when she made the reservation and was told it was going to be repaired before we moved in on Saturday. So they were fully aware this unit was not lockable, but accepted the reservation anyway and then failed to repair the door in time. The district manager did call the next day to discuss all this as I had told the office staff I was not happy when I left (and that was even before I knew they were supposed to repair it), but I missed his call. I called back but got voice mail. So I left a message with my number once again, but he never bothered to follow up after that. So basically three fails with customer service, and I'm left paying $30/mth more for space I don't need because they didn't follow through on repairing the door. That's why they are getting a rating of "Meh. I've experienced better" and if not for the office staff being so nice, they would have gotten one star from me. read more

Tl;dr: Take your business somewhere less disorganized like I ended up doing. The long version: My boyfriend and I had used this facility to store some belongings over the summer, and come September I was moving overseas and needed my own storage. I reserved a unit through their website. Strike one: I was asked to make an appointment to move in. But when I arrived on the day, no one was there. The employee on duty wasn't just elsewhere on the property helping another customer, she had left. And according to the "be back at..." sign on the door, I was going to be left standing there for some time. Now, I understand workers need to be allowed breaks, and if I hadn't had an appointment this would be one thing, but what is the point of requiring me to make an appointment if that doesn't mean there will be anyone there to help me at the appointed time? Whatever, stuff happens, I was mad about my time being wasted, but maybe there was a good explanation. So I waited. Lady showed back up. (No apology; no acknowledgement that I had an appointment. I'm not convinced it was actually recorded anywhere.) I gave her my info, and she took me outside to show me the unit. Strike two: An inside unit, no drive-up access. "Oh, did you want drive-up access?" Well, yeah, that's what I reserved. I showed her the confirmation email on my phone specifying drive-up access. She finds me another unit that actually fits the description I reserved, and we head back to the office for the paperwork. I'm definitely irritated at this point, but mistakes happen, right? That brings us to strike three (and up, depending on how you want to count). We start going through the paperwork, and when it comes to the part about rent, the number on the screen is not the rate advertized when I made the reservation. Turns out the system won't give me the promotional rate from the website because I'm supposedly not a new customer. This is false. I don't and never have had a lease with this facility. My boyfriend did, and I was listed on his account as a person with authorized access to the unit, but that was the ONLY place my name should have been appearing in their system, and I was neither the person who signed the rental agreement nor the person who made the payments, plus we had different names and different addresses and contact info (again, the reason I needed a unit was that I was moving elsewhere, so this was not a "one-per-household" type issue). The employee helping me couldn't explain why their system was set up to equate having access to someone else's unit with having an account of my own, especially when I was trying to open my account under an entirely different address, although she did at least seem to agree that that didn't seem right. Did I mention that the non-promotional rate I was now being quoted was higher than what my boyfriend had been paying for his unit even though his was bigger than the one I was trying to rent? It was. She couldn't explain that, either. She did some clicking around and trying to change things in the computer system, to no avail. She called a supervisor. She offered to call a higher-level manager to see if they could override the system, but told me I should probably just come back the next day so they could sort it out. Yeah, sorry, I made a reservation for that day because I needed to move my stuff that day. I did not have time to leave and come back. To the employee's credit, she seemed very invested in making sure I got the rate I reserved at if at all possible. (In fact, she didn't even try to tell me I should just proceed without the promotion.) But all the same, telling me to try again another day when I had an appointment for that day is not a solution. And yet it was reiterated several times as my best option. Apparently, the only way to convince the system I was opening a new account was to remove my name from my boyfriend's account. OK, fine. That would take up to a WEEK without an override from someone higher up the chain. A week just to revoke my access to someone else's unit, so that I could open my own account that shouldn't be impacted by having access to someone else's in the first place. I couldn't really afford to wait a day, and waiting a week was impossible. I'd be gone by then. There was no other solution being offered. I went out to the parking lot, got out my phone, and within 10 minutes I'd reserved a unit at another facility across town, at a lower rate than the promotional one Public Storage wouldn't give me, let alone the regular rate I'd been offered instead. Lost hours over the next two days moving my stuff to a less convenient place than I'd planned on, but moved in promptly with zero hassle and no issues since. My boyfriend also moved out of his Public Storage unit before the next rent payment was due. I understand this location is now under new management, but we won't be going back. read more

Although this is not a bad facility, they are the highest priced. I am now paying $60.00 more per month, so much for rewarding long term renters!!!! I have been renting from them for two years and the rent goes up every year! I have called several similar facilities and found out I could get a unit the same size and climate controlled (my current unit is not) for $60.00 less per month. They force you to buy their insurance and purchase their lock....you can also plan on shoveling out your door in the winter. You get no assistance from the office staff, you are told to call corporate....that number reroutes you to the local office :( read more
