Ercan (pronounced Erjan) provides the best customer service I have ever experienced anywhere. He's made renting 2 storage units so seamless and is always ready to help. It's a hot day and you've been moving stuff into storage units for 45 minutes, Ercan to the rescue! He offered me a cold bottle of water. You suck at backing up a uHaul? I do! LOL. (Spoiler alert: EXTRA SPACE STORAGE is where you want to go!) If you only just want to store your items with clear communication and simple/logical procedure, do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this Public Storage ("PS") or any PS in this region (I personally would stay away from any PS nationwide though). From the moment I booked my unit there were problems and a ton of misinformation I had to deal with. I upgraded to a bigger room off the bat, being ok with forfeiting the first month 1/2 off, and paying them MORE, and even that was a problem for them. Difficult and frustrating, but I got through it and then 6 months later they raised the rent. So I moved into a smaller, cheaper unit and thus had a credit on my account, which by the way I literally had to have an argument about as I was given misinformation by the office employee (who admitted fault) yet the Senior District Manager didn't want to honor her own employees lack of training/knowledge on the matter... so sad. After moving into the smaller unit I was so turned off by the managements lack of care and continuous misinformation that I moved out by the end of that same month. It has now been almost 3 months since then and I have left 3 voicemails for the Senior District Manager, Katie Rodriguez, to return my money to me as well as 3 voicemails for Dorsa Maghsoudi, the District Manager, and neither will respond nor refund me the money I am rightfully owed. SHADY AF! The people here do NOT care about anyone, their bathrooms are almost always out of order or if open have been super gross, and the storage units have no lights in them or outlets to plug a light into. Workers are often not on duty, the employee turnaround is incredibly frequent, and they will nickel and dime you for ev-er-y-thing. The homeless encampments surrounding the entire corner property is just an added bummer. Spending the money to move to "Extra Space Storage" was the best decision ever - literally a night and day difference from PS... Extra Space has been so so wonderful, super helpful, and they communicate incredibly well - even through text if wanted to make it easier! just rented from this place. I have a service dog. he has accompanied me every time I've been here from the move in date to inquiring about it before I ever purchased the unit. No one ever said a word about my dog plus I've seen multiple other dogs here as well came today took a trolley to the elevator, and get stopped by someone peering around the office door saying can't have a dog in here rudely I stated that I have had him since the day I came in inquired about the unit and had always brought him in and has seen multiple other dogs. She claims she was the district manager at that point. I didn't even tell her he was a service dog I was so mad I just left. I turned to say to her he was a svc dog and she was gone sitting back at her chair. they had swarming termites the second time I came and I complained. and sewer issues w no toilet access bc of this. complete unsanitary and has been going on for a while. I am currently at this location trying to move in. It's 2:40pm and I've already been here once today (at 11:00am) to check in for my unit. When I came back to move in there was no one on duty and Erica from the front desk had failed to remove the lock on my unit so I had to wait upstairs with my stuff until she returned approximately 20 minutes later. Since I had unloaded all my belongings from the moving truck it was apparent that I didn't need a 9x10 unit but actually a smaller 5x10 would work just fine. Erica informed me that after checking with her manager (Matt Levitt) I wouldn't be allowed to switch to a smaller unit and retain the promotional pricing. It's now been another 15 minutes and I'm standing in the office waiting for Matt to contact us so we can resolve the situation. I've decided to just move in and pay extra since Matt is still on another call. So far the only helpful part of this experience has been Erica calling to let me know I'd given her car keys instead of their bathroom key. Update: Now that I'm back downstairs from moving my last cart of belongings Erica said Matt is willing to let me vacate and move everything from the larger unit to the smaller unit, which I unfortunately don't have time for now as I have to get to work. What a day! Update: Oct 30, 2018 I just vacated the unit (29 days later). Found a MUCH better Public Storage facility run by a different regional manager. Address is 22222 Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills. Much cheaper, cleaner and overall more pleasant experience than I had here. Hope you can avoid the hassle that I had to deal with!!! read more

this is the absolute worst business i have ever had the displeasure of using in my entire life. at 6pm when they close everything automatically closes with no warning and no employees were on site to make sure everyone is outside of the location. one of my movers had to sprint out of the closing roll up gate and barley made it out of the building. Me and my movers got trapped in the parking lot behind the automated gate for 3 hours. When i called after hours gate assistance they told me the only way to get out was to call the local non emergency number. When I expressed my frustration about how illogical this system is they hung up on me several times. I had to call the police to open the gate. The following morning there was no one there either. They called me the following day to scold me about the damage i had caused to the gate... There are rarely employees on site or operators on the phone during business hours so if you have any sort of problem, which I'm sure you will, you are on your own. So I reserved a storage unit on Friday... today... and wasnt supposed to go in to view it till tomorrow ... but I walked into this office at about 4 or 430, and was greeted by a very nice lady named Erica. Hope I spelled it right. Such a friendly person, so kind. Had no issue at all with showing me the unit a day early. Once she shows it to me, it's super clean, ready to use, and perfect my things! She asked me what I was storing and even gave me some great recommendations on which items to purchase so my things would stay clean and safe. Erica is a true customer service professional and I believe we lack this high grade of assistance everywhere these days. She made my tough day turn into a sheer delight! Moving is stressful, expensive and time-sensitive, customers are not likely in a position to shop around. Public Storage knows this so they don't really care about building customer relationships. My experience was horrible because the location at 4th and Rose canceled my reservation even though I had an email confirmation telling me I was set and just had to show up on the day of my move-in. Every guy I spoke with was unsympathetic and/or inept. The best offer I could get was $60 more than my original reservation and these guys wouldn't even pretend to give a crap. 0 stars! In a struggle to find some place I visited several PS locations in the area and Purdue was the one, thanks entirely to Kenyon. Finally, customer service! She went above and beyond, recommended an even better unit than the one I reserved and just made everything go smoothly. It was like night and day from what I experienced over at 4th and Rose. Even though this location is 3 times further from my house, I rented here because Kenyon is the kind of person I would prefer dealing with in the long term. She's smart, quick and customer service oriented! I don't feel my blood pressure rising when I talk to her! ALL THE STARS. Oh, and shout out to Patty over at the Washington location, that building is no bueno but she is a gem. She called around for me when I was in a bind and was just a totally awesome lady. read more

The most unethical poor management I have ever experienced in a large company. If you have the misfortune of renting a space here be prepared to be called 15 times a month if you are late. They lied about the auctions over and over and eventually I had to let it go due to unemployment. They assured me my pictures and important documents would be returned to me. No one will return my call. Christmas ornaments going back 3o years homemade with my kids pictures are in a landfill somewhere. My daughters box of lifetime memories of no financial value GONE. Who ever runs this company should be ashamed. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! I know, I know.... it's a storage space. What could be so special as to make me - who loves reviews, but hates writing them - actually review this place? AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! It's so hard to find now-a-days, that when I see it to this level, I have to reward it. My main interaction was with Erika, who's only there 2 days a week, but you'd never know it! She was friendly, and had truly helpful suggestions... and not "I'm trying to sell you stuff" suggestions, but "I want your life to be easier" suggestions! I am not a morning person, and I was on 3 hours sleep with a toothache, and I swear to God, I left that place smiling and promising myself I would review this place. It took a week or so, but for me that's super fast! I'm rambling at this point, but if you need storage and want to deal with nice, knowledgeable, helpful human beings, come to this particular Public Storage. Oh, and when I came back to move my stuff in, I met Kenyon, who's there the rest of the week too, and she was awesome as well! Receive a multitude of confirming emails and even a phone call asking if I'd like to view my unit, 1day prior to the scheduled move in date. After informing them I viewed the space 1week earlier, I asked that they check the cleanliness, because whem I saw it, it was filthy. They said sure let me go and check and called me back saying, that unit has been rented . Yes 1 day prior to moving in to a particular sized and style (driveup 10x20)unit, it is suddenly "No longer available". Never mind people's lives public storage. Erika is FANTASTIC! I've been using this public storage location for a few months now with few (if any) issues and intend to stay here because the staff is GREAT! Just this Friday as I was leaving the parking lot I accidentally locked my keys in the car. I ran to the office freaking out that I'd be late for another commitment cross town and found Erika, who came outside with me, tried to trick the age-old locks in my 20 year old car, and waited with me for as long as it took AAA to arrive. She stayed longer than her shift that night just to help me. I would have definitely felt unsafe (and probably been hysterical) had she not been there, cool as a cucumber. $1 SCAM. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I went in to rent a SMALL unit for a month or 2. The front desk lady (only 2, it was the skinny aggressive one) told me I can save and enjoy the $1 special for the first month if I call a certain number and make a prior reservation. I call in front of her and they give me a very large unit for 1$ that I can downgrade the following month. Then the front desk lady makes me wait 20 minutes, because they're not supposed to tell customers to call this number. So first red alert. Then she introduces the FEES starting with an EXPENSIVE LOCK THAT ONLY WORKS AT PUBLIC STORAGE. So don't think of using it somewhere else. Then I go back a month later and they charge me over 100$ of late fee for 2 days late. SAVE YOUR MONEY, Don't be fooled by their marketing BS. Go somewhere else and pay real price. read more

Here's the deal - the facility is perfectly fine. Everyone who has worked there that I've come in contact with, has been very nice. This is my issue, and this issue really is for the owners/managers... You simply CANNOT have a woman by herself, with the door unlocked, no one around, and NOT provide her with a weapon or something to defend herself with. I mean, come on, would you want your mom, sister, girlfriend, wife or even mistress to be on her own with no help if something were to happen? Good Lord! Delores is a very nice lady, and if I had an extra can of mace, I would have given it to her! Please reconsider allowing your female employees to be able to lock the door and have customers knock on the window. I found this storage facility hiding on the side of Best Buy, and during rush hour traffic it was heaven sent. Let me start off by saying the customer service here is impeccable. ANYONE who knows me knows that decision making is not my best trait, but I was put at ease when the young man who assisted me-not only catered to my needs, but was very patient and polite. I only came in there to purchase some tape and boxes, but walked out buying that plus bubble wrap, and sofa covers. When service is great, I don't mind spending money.
