I booked my unit with Pam in July, 2023...sorry the review is late! The experience I've had from day one has been exemplary! I was shown 2 units by Pam and picked the one best suited for me! Pam was thorough and knowledgeable with all the information I needed to make a decision. I met Chris later he was just as kind and helpful as Pam! I appreciate the security they offer and attention to details in regards to who is on the premises at any given time. Every time I show up, they have been very welcoming! One star removed bc the hours are less than posted. Says 10-7 but back door is locked at 6 and they start getting REALLY pushy at 630. One star removed bc back door usage is unpredictable. Sometimes you can use it, most times not. Grab a unit on the Tennessee side and this can be avoided. Wanted to remove another star bc the bathroom and carts are also unpredictable...and there's a decent size gap in the floor between the the wall and the floor. Lost a storage lid to said gap, but it's not a two star spot so... only ended up removing two stars. This brings me to the upside... pricing, lighting and aisle size are good read more

Storage 101: Make a solid decision whether you really need items which you put in a storage unit. Storage companies know it is a real hassle to get them in and packed, so when the months roll by, you tend to renew again and again instead of the hassle of emptying the unit. At the end, you may find that you could have bought new things for less than you paid to store the old ones, and you will trash a lot. EZ Storage appears to be less expensive than other companies. If you think that you are renting a 10' x 10' unit, but it is actually 9' x 9', add 20% to the price: the units which I rented were about 20% smaller than the advertised size and have very low 8' ceilings. When I asked about this, the employees stated the size is approximate but could not explain why the actual size is always much smaller than the advertised size. Hours to access the units are very limited: they open at 10 am and close at 6 pm. They are very pleasant when showing a unit. Perhaps they get $ 1 when they rent one. That changes after you move in. I was promised a 50% discount for 2 months, but they billed me the full amount for the 2nd month and would not budge. I was going to rent another unit which was advertised on their website at 50% discount for 3 months and showed the website to Pam, who is apparently one of the two managers. She first stated that the offer was only for new customers. I pulled up the website on my phone and showed her that the offer did not state that. She said that she would check and get back to me. Almost immediately after that, the offer was removed from the website. Although she told me that there were no discount offers available, I saw her renting a unit at less 50% for 2 months to a couple just a few hours later. There are people who try to help, and there are people who try to be as difficult as possible. The managers here belong to the group who try to be difficult. They decided to lock the toilet long before the COVID-19 pandemic. Imagine moving into a storage unit, spending all day there, and they will not let you use the toilet. They are consistently difficult and uncooperative, waste time and make a big deal of the smallest thing, then tell you that they "are too busy". They hid all of the carts when the COVID-19 pandemic required them to wipe them down after customers use them. How are you supposed to move heavy boxes and other items through the long, winding passages without a cart ? The office has a glass barrier between the employees and customers, but they decided to lock the office, talk to customers using the intercom, and pass documents under the door. One day I asked Pam to open the back door so I could move a few items. She looked me in the eye and told me that it was not working and needed a new "board", which was not available. This amazed me because the door had just been installed. Two hours later, the janitor opened the gate to take out the trash. I told him I was happy that they got the "board" so quickly. He had no idea what I was talking about and told me that there had not been any problems with the gate. I understand how hard it must be to find anyone who is willing to work in a place like that, and walk up and down the depressing corridors every day, especially when the employees realize they have reached the top of their career paths. However, it is their problem, and the anger and frustration should not be directed at customers. Keith and Pam are passive-aggressive: If you have a complaint which they do not address, they will cheerfully tell you to write to customerservice@ezstorage.biz Do not expect an answer. The e-mail is forwarded to them. This is a truly awful company from top to bottom. read more

Everyone there was kind and helpful, especially Pam!! We had an emergency situation where we had to pack up and move everything in my apartment into a storage unit and then drive out of town in one day. In the morning we made a reservation with Pam at EZ Storage because they had the best prices for a 2-3 month stay. Packing took forever and we got stuck in traffic, so we arrived around 6:45pm when the place closes at 7pm. The gates close a bit before closing time so we called Pam and told her our situation. She re-opened the gates, showed us the storage unit which actually didn't fit all our furniture, found us a storage unit right by the entryway on the first floor that was an amazing deal, and stayed late while we rushed to move everything in and fill out all the paperwork. We were so grateful to her for staying open late and finding us a good deal. She really ensured that we were taken care of. read more

I have had a storage locker here for over four years. This summer the management sent us a letter on very short notice that they needed to have the fire department conduct inspections of any locker that had a sprinkler inside. They then said we needed to take our own locks off and use lockers that they distributed to us. The rub, of course, was that they gave us one key and they kept another. There was no timetable for the inspections as I would have preferred being there when it happened. I should also point out they brought in a group of people from another storage facility that I had never seen. So on first glance, our unit failed inspection and we had to remove some items. Two weeks later we got word our unit had passed inspection and we could swap out management locks for our own. When I opened my unit I realized I had been burgled. Someone who had access to a key (Management) had come in and removed MANY things from my unit, including some silver heirlooms, photographs, luggage (to remove the stolen merchandise) and more. I even found a bicycle part that did not belong to us in our unit which suggests the thieves had unfettered access to many units and just haphazardly put stuff back into the wrong unit. When I went down to complain, there was a gentleman who had BOTH of his storage rooms emptied. The clerk on duty was indifferent and handed me an email address for customer service. I asked if other units had the same problem and he refused to answer. Six weeks later I have yet to hear from them read more

I also experienced what another reviewer mentioned here. I have rented with EZ Storage for many years and I seldom check my unit because half of the year I am in Northern Cali for work. No emails, no letter. I was just surprised when I came to check on my unit that my key won't work. The previous manager explained what happened so I understood. This was not the reason I moved out of this facility though. Although I can say that most employees here are nice, they are LAZY. They don't clean! They don't even empty the recycling bins inside the premises. They are open 10am to 7pm, other storage companies are open as early as 6am. To make the matter worse, at 6:05-6:10pm, Keith the manager is already closing the gates and he gives you a SERMON when you try to reason that the gates are supposed to be closed 6:30. Between 6:05 to 6:30, that's still plenty of time for renters to get something from their respective units. When I told him I will complain to the management of what he does, he started closing the gate a little bit later, around 615-625. He is very tricky though. He closes the gates but TECHNICALLY DOES NOT LOCK IT. If you are driving by and see that the gate is closed, you will either get discouraged from trying to get in although the gates are not supposed to be closed before 630pm OR you can try to get in knowing that this trick is unreasonably done a lazy employee you wants to get off the clock earlier than he should. However, if insist that you get in, he will discourage you & talk an act like he is doing you a big favor by allowing you access to get in. The signage in the facility premises states the gates close at 630. Why give a sermon to people coming in at 605, 610, 615, 625? If they had a problem with a tenant extending the stay beyond their allowed time, then deal with that tenant. Why change your hours for everyone else? A person can come in at 610 and be out by 615. Some people want to cut their work time if they can, I guess. LAZY. Also, cockroaches running across the floors from one unit to another is a usual thing in this facility. Spider webs along the hallway that were present one day I came in were still there 3 weeks after. There are insects crawling everywhere & flying ones, too! I wonder how this facility passed city inspection? The lights turn off every 5 mins and you have to walk all the way to the switch to turn it on for another 5 mins. Aircon is turned off all the time and the facility smells funny. If you want to check out the units, I suggest you bring a flash light and look at several units and see for yourself what I am talking about. Don't forget to notice the plywood walls with traces of moisture! Look up the ceiling and see moisture traces, too! Don't be sorry. Open your eyes and sniff around this EZ storage when you look at units. You will understand these complaints when you get to the facility yourself. Do yourself a favor and get a cleaner storage facility. There is a reason why EZ storage is the cheapest in the area. read more
