Beware of the new ownership of this Public Storage facility. If you rent a storage unit, you are not allowed to use their onsite dumpsters. If you do and you get caught, they will charge you $250. WTF? Also, if you rent from these people, pay the little extra for insurance. I recently helped my friend move out of her unit and alot of her things were soaked and damaged by a water problem in the facility. See the photos. Also, at any time mice can be seen scurrying between storage units. Again, see the photos. Lots of mouse feces in her unit. Vile and unsanitary, to say the least. I was cleaning out my storage this week. I was very upset thinking I wanted to cancel this month. They are doing work there. I thought I would have no access after tomorrow. So I cleaned it out each day by myself. I left a couple of messages admittedly were not nice. Kelly returned my call promptly. When I went to today to get the last of the stuff out. Was so upset crying. Didn't know if I could get it done. Kelly talked me off the ledge!! She was so kind and helpful. Not many people out there that compassionate and caring. I was able to make my reservation online with no problems at all. When I spoke to the individuals at the location, they were extremely helpful and super nice. The inside where the units are was immaculate, as was the unit I rented. I would highly recommend this facility. read more

If I could give a zero, I would. These people have no communication. Talk with Bruce, the site manager, if he is ever there, and he forgets he spoke to you on the phone. Never completes anything. I left many messages, no return call. I spoke to Steve, the district manager, but there is still no resolution to my multiple billing issues. I spoke to so many people to fix my billing issue I lost count, and it is still not fixed! The gates are hardly ever looked very unsafe. People rummaging through the dumpsters is very unsafe. A dead mouse was found on my first day when I opened the door. First-floor floods. Could not access my unit for almost a month, 3 trips were wasted. The dimensions of units on the corners of the building are smaller than the contract states. The fee went up very quickly while I was away. My autopay failed, and I was charged a late fee. (Card was still valid and had sufficient funding in account.) I could not access my possessions until I paid fraudulent late fee. Lady is straight up cold and not helpful. Not possible to speak with the actual boss who makes executive decisions. Just don't go here. Fare warning. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! 1.Staff is rude and unprofessional, they would hire anyone there. They could care less if your needs are met, all they care is for people to sign up and pay their monthly fee. Otherwise, screw the customer. 2. They love to conceal information. When I started the process I was charged extra money and the staff told me that she had to charge an extra $11.00 a month for mandatory insurance, which she failed to mention when I first asked for the quote. My bill went from $74 to $85 to $95 in a matter of 4 months. Also, when I called early in the month I was told by customer service that I could get money back for the pro rated charges. I return the storage, clean and completely empty and now they say that cannot be done after the 7th of the month. Of course that was never mentioned to me when I called initially. They're a joke! 3. There is mice in the storage place so they could care less for rodents going around people's properties. I came twice to my storage and I saw two mice running in the hallways. this place is horrible I wish I never rented it. I was never told before renting the unit that they would be doing renovation, if I had known I would of went somewhere else. All my stuff had white residue from the plastering it was a headache. Then to top it all off I didn't have access to my unit every time I went the 4th floor had no access. It was ridiculous and i haven't been to my unit for a while then I get a message sayin that I left after closing hours when I left at 4:30 and I didn't have to put my code in to open the gate cause it was already opened. They message me saying it was a warning for leaving after hours and to respect other customers??? After all the mess with their renovations they have a nerve to up the rent. I have rented a unit here for the past 1.5 years. The facility sucks, back door is always broken, and carts always missing. But what really bugs me is that my rate has gone up twice in that 1.5 years. I am now at a rate 30% higher than when I started. I spoke to the people at the desk but they have no influence on rates apparently. I spoke to the corporate office and he literally told me I should just move my stuff out if I don't like the rate increases. Horrible business with zero interest in keeping customers. Don't fall for the low rate! They are betting on you not wanting to move your stuff out when they hike up the rates! read more

I came in a day early and had the pleasure of meeting Jwel the perfect name for a real Jewel! She was thorough positive helpful and fun. If I could give this company less than zero I would! Do not do business with them! The do not care about the rodant issue they have going on. They will direct you to the insurance you pay for! I had rodant droppings on ALL of my personal things that was stored at this facility. They don't assist with any clean out, they do NOTHING! My biggest problem with this company is that the Regional or District Manager will NOT return any phone calls regarding billing! We had been moving our things out at the end of the month, and on the last day of July it was pouring out! Cheryl the property manager told him he could come back in the morning to get the rest of our things before 10am or we would be charged another month. We had everything out before 10am and suddenly her story changed and said well it's up to my District manager Drew if he wanted to charge you or not! First of all that's not what she said the day before or he would have waited for the rain to stop and second they are doing construction and no one is storing their things on the first floor anyway, so why would you bill us? Now they have sent it to collections with no written notification! And they will not return our calls. I have called the corporate offices and they are no help either! Stay clear away from this company! Your better off at Extra Storage Space next door! They are cleaner and more professional! We had a storage unit here for many years. Turns out they have a serious mouse / rat problem. The mice ate through a family chair and animal skins worth $1,000s, that is, before the mice got to them. The service is just plain mean and misleading, the facility is disgusting with no climate control, the hallways wreak ferel cat feces and mounds of mouse poop grace the storage units. Don't walk, RUN! If you do store anything here, it better be in a sealed, steel mouse proof box. If you have something here you haven't checked on in a while, check NOW! read more

I personally would like to thank the Public Storage Lynn Location manager Cheryl and now her assistant who recently started (sorry don't know her name). I have been running an entertainment business for 11 years and ultimately needed storage. 1) For the past few years I started working with public storage and I became busier so I asked if I could move to a lower storage room because on weekends the elevators are typically busier (of course). Cheryl said, "Yes and because you have been such a "long-time" great customer of ours - not only will I give you the newer room downstairs but also - I will offer you the promotion price we have going on so you will save a few dollars per month". (That was really cool and helps my stress level enormously with the great new room). 2) Two weeks ago - I was packing gear and drove away to perform near Canada. I got distracted and left thousands of dollars worth of equipment unattended in the parking lot. Cheryl's assistant spotted the gear and said, "I don't know what these things are but someone might grab all this". Cheryl said - "Let me make a phone call - I think I might know"... I was already 110 miles away. Cheryl started reading the sides of the steel containers out to me..."Oh no!!!! (I said) Yes, those are most of the things we need for the weekend shows!!!" (They were left on the other side of the truck and we got distracted and didn't see that gear). Her and her assistant carried all that gear back to the building and stored it in the office for me for a week until we came back from the north. This place has terrible customer service. The outside garage size units leak and will damage your belongings and get moldy due to moisture. Do not place any valuable items and make sure to bring your own double locks. Read the contract and be aware that they prorate the fees. read more

How this place is even allowed to be open is beyond me. Place is so old and rundown, should be condemned with all the mold on the ceiling near my storage bin. And as far as the house manager; how does she even work in a professional business like this? She is the most unprofessional person I have ever met in my life. Sooo mean and miserable to customers. I've witnessed it at times when I used to pay my bill there. Now, I got smart and pay online! She's very disgusting as she's smoking her cigarettes in front of customers! I've rented other storage utilities in the past and I have to say the public storage on lynnway is phenomenal and my number 1 choice! Courteous staff and very friendly. The general manager Cheryl is always working and willing to help if anything happens. The manager Gicela is always making sure that the facility is being well kept, extra clean, and that there are always carts available for the tenants. A surprising fact is when it snows; the staff always make sure it's safe and clean of snow. I've been here since 2014 and overall I am very satisfied with their service! I stored at this facility long term for a year. June 2012-July 2013 and will continue to store my things as long as I need to. The staff are nice and on two occasions saved me up to 40 dollars monthly by recommending I downsize my unit after selling some items (Cherly, I believe the manager was great with this). I only have one complaint and that is the temperature inside the building. Seeing that you have to move things in and out it was really hot. I will say it was during a 98 degree day and this definitely could have effected the A/C in the building. We were moving to another unit and the place was really muggy and hot. So better climate control would help. Besides that the service excellent and the building is clean. During the year of storage I have no bugs, damage, or rodents inside my furniture or unit. The price went up 15 dollars after one year and I was informed of this would happen in advance. This is when I was suggested a smaller unit to save even more money which worked out well. Oh, always pay for the insurance because public storage isn't liable for stolen, damaged items by flood, or fire. If you don't pay the extra for insurance you screwed. I found this out by asking many questions because I was storing long term. The insurance company is a separate company from pubic storage. read more

I have had the worst moving experience of my life. The only positive thing throughout my eleven day fiasco was the storage unit. The manager at the front desk, Cheryl, was VERY polite and an amazing multi-tasker who adjusted to my many crises immediately and with a great attitude. She tries very hard to work with customers--some of whom have absolutely NO class (I witnessed that myself!). She tried so hard to keep accommodating me--all with a fantastic sense of humor! She has an assistant there Giordani who works with her. She is also genuinely a nice person, not a fake! They both work extremely hard there. The owners ought to feel fortunate to have them both. That--coupled with the price-- made all the difference in the world for me in deciding to rent a couple of units with them as opposed to anyone else. The others play games and tack on all kinds of surprise fees that piss me off. Cheryl was straight up honest with me. In my opinion, the security system is also tight with reinforcements-- that cannot be circumvented. It seems ready to challenge even the modern thief. Public storage and moreover, Joedanny and Cheryl to the rescue. Both Cheryl and Joedanny made a very terrible situation just a bit more palatable. I had been evicted by my roommate for being just a few days late with the rent and needed a small clean, well-lit and easily accessible, but yet affordable, place in which to safeguard my belongings. Both Cheryl and Joedanny were very professional and personable. They explained everything to me and gave me the chance to carefully review everything: never feeling rushed. They even lowered my bill by as much as $20.00 just for having my old lock which I'd purchased through PS when I last rented there. And they also gave me an upgrade to a 2nd floor for only $1.00. I got to tell you, moving especially the way I just did, is never fun. But by the end of the night, I was tired but way more relaxed about my ordeal. My first day renting a unit here, the Property Manager tried to con me into purchasing insurance and a lock. She told me that she could not rent me the unit unless I purchased the insurance, Lie !!!! I told her that I would call corporate office about that policy and she very quickly changed her mind. So she rented me the unit and then she had a bad attitude because I already had a lock with me to put on my unit. Ok, next incident I had at this place was maybe a few month later I called the office but because I was in an area with my phone reception going in and out I lost signal and my phone disconnected before I could speak to anyone, OK later that day I was checking my voice mail and it was a lady from public storage that had left a voice mail message stating that I should not be calling the office and hanging up along with some very rude remarks. this is the type of message this person left on my voice mail. And finally, upon moving out I asked the person over the phone about adding an authorized user without having to come back into the office. I was told i had to come back into the office to do that, she then claimed she had to call her district manager about it, really tgese people cannot think on their own.Since at the time I was out of state I could not come in to office to add anyone, so I did a little research on google, and found out that all you have to do is log into your account on line and add the persons name, takes 2 minutes, but office worker didn't have a clue. I know that these people are only paid very little, and really do not have any management skills, but there is that little thing called common sense. These so called property managers are not really managers, they are more like property babysitters, some of them actually live on the property. Public Storage really need to do about job at training these people, but then again maybe they are asked to lie to customers about that insurance and lock requirement.
