Service has been okay and there is a bit of aggravation with being required to purchase their cheep lock and their insurance. It takes a bit of effort to get refund on the lock and to provide evidence that you have insurance through another means but having a rate increase of 32.12% is excessive and the main issue I have. Going from a competitive rate of around $74.00 to $109.00 for a10X20 unit overnight for no apparent reason leads one to believe that rate increases of this type may be a normal business practice. The problem is once you have a storge unit full of items it is not easy to just move to another facility. My comment would be buyer beware. It may be worth shopping around and confirming if the price of the unit has gone up recently and the frequency of rate increases. A small rate increase might be easier to stomach but a 32% rate increase is excessive. read more

If I could give them a lower score, I would! My Sister-In-Law passed away so we had an entire home of nice furniture to store and we needed 2 of the 10x25 units. We started at $120 a month for each unit but they've inceased our rent every 6 months so now we're at $300 each! These are not environmentally controlled units just outside garage door units! We're retired so $600 a month is allot of money for a dusty, mice and bug infested slab of concrete! You should avoid this business if you want ethical and fair pricing!! read more

It seems that this place keeps raising the price on my storage unit. I've gone from $95 a month for a 10x10 inside unit I started renting in 2022 to what will now be $157 a month starting 6/1/2024. What gives? You aren't renting enough units to make whatever your required revenue is so you increase the rent on the other units? What makes it worse is that I went out and looked at a 10x10 unit and the website is showing I can rent a 10x10 for $61 a month???? Why is there so much disparity??? Terrible. Somebody opened an account in my name. I called and was told not to worry, that they would take care of the situation. They did not check the identity before opening the account in my name. I spoke to Sally at an Edmond location and she treated me awful and made me feel like it was my fault. They sent me to collections for an account that I proved was not mine. Sally said she would transfer me and she hung up the phone on me. Now I have to deal with Allied Interstate Collections for something that was not mine. This company will open an account for anyone. They are just as responsible and fraudulent as the criminals out there stealing our identity everyday. Don't go to this place if you want your information to be secure!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Stay clear of @PublicStorage in OKC! They raise rates $11 annually. We gave 30 day notice of intent to vacate on 5/31/2019. Received phone call from someone named Tamica that I would need to empty the unit early in the day, so she could inspect and go home early (it was Friday)! We vacated and swept out the unit by 3:30 PM on 5/31/2019 (verified by their exit logs and cameras) ... they still charged another month ! read more

Many contracts allow for monthly increases based on market value. Public Storage will offer such a contact at a significantly discounted rate giving an illusion of value. Then they give you 4-6 months to move your 4 bedroom house. After which, they raise your rate. If you call they''ll repeatedly remind you of their contract and tell you that the unit is worth double what you are paying for it. I call this entrapment. I will be looking for another unit and will pay a premium to leave Public Storage. Also, buy your own lock. Don't buy their insurance. Check your homeowners insurance for Coverage. Let me start off by saying if you get a reservation, pay right then or they'll give it to someone else without even telling you that's how it works. I've never used a storage unit prior to this one && hope to never need one again. I was told it would be in the $70s, then I went to pay 3 days later but didn't get to. I had to get a whole different reservation. That price jumped $30. Anytime I need to talk to them, you call the number and no one answers, it's a machine. It gets real old leaving voicemails and playing phone tag. Also, I just received an email saying the price is changing next payment. Not to mention I went to my unit to add more things (only have had this unit for maybe 7 months) and I noticed there is mold on th3 bottom of my couch. There HAS NOT BEEN ANY WATER inside. These units are not completely sealed to the ceiling.. when I asked them about this they told me to contact my insurance.. I'm beyond upset with public storage and will never use them again. If I could give zero stars I would. We had our unit here for less than 2 weeks and they charged us for two different units after claiming they would refund us for one, and then we get a 2nd months charge because the 2nd week we had the unit fell into the following month. They are not prorating our month and refused to give us a refund. So we got scammed into 2 months rent for 2 weeks of our stuff being here. Horrible customer service, I had to call for weeks to finally talk to someone about our refund and they do not call you back when you leave messages. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE, beware! read more

Stay Away! This is the worst storage facility ever. Manager named Tamicka denied us access to our unit even though we were paid in full. She said there was a balance on our account of $32 but could not explain what the balance was for or where it came from. She got irate with me the customer, used extremely threatening language, and then called the police to get me to leave the office without providing any information as to how we could resolve the situation. I was truly knocked out by the level and depth of customer service I received at this Public Storage Location given to me by the property manager, Tiffany. Having been in retail multi-unit management for over 15 years I know a "Super Star" property manager and facility when I see/experience it. I had a laundry list of questions that were ALL promptly and professionally answered with superb customer service skills and with a cheerful, smiling, helpful disposition! I upgraded my unit after Tiffany walked me through several units and she was literally unbelievably receptive, attentive, warm and welcoming. I don't mind admitting I tried (unsuccessfully!) to recruit her to be a member of my team, as I am currently a District Manager for the nations largest small box retailer. The grounds, office and property were pristine and it "felt" like I was renting a storage space from a "high end" premium storage facility that should have cost many times more than the inexpensive rate I was charged. I simply can not say enough positive things about my experience with Tiffany and Public Storage! Well done!! I will definitely be sending my friends and family your way from now on to experience for themselves this "Red Carpet" treatment!! read more

Wow! Where to begin? They advertise one price for their units, but tack on $11.00 monthly for insurance which they require. Perhaps this is standard, but why not just advertise the full monthly price? Seems fishy. Then I was told they accept auto pay, which is great because all of my bills are set up that way. I can't say for sure if it was a problem with their online system or my bank account but the Auto Pay did not go through and I ended up being late. They tacked on a $25.00 late fee. I thought it was an anomaly but it happened a second time. At that point I was finished with the joke that their auto pay system is. I then told them I would just be happy to pay with my card over the phone. They told me I would have to come in. Wow..... They can't take a visa over the phone? Oh... It gets worse... I show up to pay, hand the visa to the person working and they tell me they can't take a card payment from me. I'd have to bring in cash. Now this just seems like they are holding my stuff hostage while evading taxes or some other scam. But what could I do? I paid the cash. During move out I left my unit unlocked for 15 minutes while I drove down the road to unload. Came back and they had locked me out of my unit. It's their policy to lock a unit immediately. Imagine you were renting an apartment, paid for insurance and you felt like leaving the door unlocked, and every time you return the complex has locked your door. The $5.00 locks that they sell in their for $21.95 are also worthless. They come with keys made of paper. Thank goodness it came with two because the first one broke right off. I'm sure they do this on purpose so they can charge tenants a huge fee to cut the lock. This place is a complete abomination. read more
