Horrible service and gives unprofessional/fraudulent , no one is ever at the desk! Or answering the phone! a phone call could resolve a lot and no one ever answers! I waste time heading over 1hour away to still not be assisted. I come throughout the day to catch an associate and I wait in line every time with another customer! even before closing hours. there is never an associate to assist! My home is small and I wanted to give my family a very nice Christmas so I rented a unit at the Commodity Pkwy location. They were very respectful and I wish I had stayed with them but I needed a larger unit and a closer unit. So I rented a bigger unit at the Maitland Dr location. First of all they make you get the insurance. There was no where for me to opt out so I paid for that. On 11/2 I received a voicemail to come and check the unit because it wasn't locked correctly. I said ok it can wait, it's not like anyone can walk to my unit off the street. On 11/3 I received an email saying the same thing..check my unit. This time I said ok we need to go, so my sister went and looked inside and secured the lock. Everything was good. The next time we went to the storage was on 11/28 to get the brand new tree and decorations I had ordered so we could get ready for Christmas. My sister called me and said the unit was empty. I'm like empty??? How??? So after I cried and broke down I called the property and left a message. The lady that called me back told me to file a police report, there was nothing they could do. They couldn't look at the camera footage or anything. I said ok and went through the process of filing the report. Once they assigned a report # I called the insurance that I was made to pay for, and filed a claim. That proceeded the worst experience I have ever gone through in my entire life. I spoke to 3 different people at the storage location, one got smart with me and started yelling at me. I spoke with a district manager and well as regional manager, the claims people and the police. None of them were helpful. I had brand new items in that unit. Over 4000.00 worth of things that were still in original boxes. Mostly toys for my niece, things that were personalized. Some electronics and things for the house. The property lied to the claims people and the directors. They told them that my unit was unsecured from 11/2-11/17 and that is a lie!!!! We fixed that lock on 11/3 and everything was still in the unit. I believe that someone at the Maitland Dr location stole my stuff. I am now in the process of having a lawyer take over because I am done and that is too much money to just lose. I don't have it like that. Use another company if possible. I stored a 3000 square ft. house for two years in two of the 10'X10' units. I was extremely happy with my experience and not one of my items suffered any damage of any kind. I had family antiques and other heirlooms in the units. I trust North Raleigh Personal Storage. On-site manager is awesome. read more

The best part about this place is Tanika(spelling?). She is professional, a pleasure to deal with and is so helpful with everything concerning your move. I originally was going to share a unit with my friend using their one month deal. Then I stayed on for two month and she made it a seamless transition. I was also under strict schedules because of work and she even gave me longer access than normal to move all of my stuff in so I could be out of my house on time and keep my security deposit. If you have not signed an agreement with Public Storage, STOP RIGHT NOW and read this review. Other than Tamika, this is one of the worst companies I have ever done business with. I work out of state and am only in town every other weekend. I received a notice my rent was being raised (aggressively...) two days before end of month. I called to cancel my unit but was told I had to cancel in person. The first day I could visit was the first day of the month. i arrived and waited outside the office for it to open; the evening before I cleaned out my unit in the middle of the night upon my arrival in Raleigh. It was clean and ready to be rented the first day of the new month. Tamika tried to help and I thought all was well, but then got a letter from a collections agency almost two months later! No, I'm not kidding...a collections agency! Let me give you some advice; find your nearest GoStoreIt location and RENT THERE! Professional, scrupulous management and high quality facilities. I rent a bigger space fully 2X the size for less money and with one month free! Really Public Storage, was $69 worth it? I truly doubt it. I'll do my best to help others that need storage space NOT to suffer what I have suffered. Absolutely incredible and horrible business practices. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. First off the false advertising is ridiculous. I was originally told first month free then we mean its a dollar then I still ended up with a ton of hidden charges anyway for that month. Secondly the customer service at that location is the worst I have ever seen in my entire life, which is hard because I worked in healthcare! The manager is the rudest, most arrogant person in customer service and the workers are disrespectful and lie about everything from the contract right down to when they spoke to you last. I was late on one payment which I told them I would be due to a family emergency, by only a few days they had my stuff almost ready for auction. Then I paid and they kept the auction lock on anyway. After taking the lock off I told them I would be moving out, which they said was fine and then when my movers came they changed the lock code and locked my movers in until I made another payment. Needless to say if you can a bit more to move somewhere else please do so! Avoid this place at all cost unless you like drama and rude customer service and management. read more

The Public Storage staff were attentive and efficient. I reserved a storage unit on line and it was an easy transition for the staff to get me into the unit I reserved. A little paper work and explanation of hours and locks and what not and I was good to go. I was pleased with my experience here and will continue to rent a storage unit here. Thank you! read more
