I booked these movers a month ago. Bellhop never mentioned until after my move that I would be charged for the minimum 3 hours time block. In fact, when I booked it, I wasn't allowed to book for anything less than 3 hours. I was told that this would be considered a local move. I was paying for 2 movers and a truck. On the day of the move, they sent 5 men, completed the move in 1.5 hrs and still charged me for the full service. I'm also upset because Bellhop instructed me to dismantle the furniture to ensure I saved time and also money which I did. Had I known, I wouldn't have wasted my time. Do not use Bellhop Moving! We completed a move from Chicago to Raleigh and Bellhop moving ruined ten pieces of furniture and damaged many others. We were quoted 5 movers on the move out day and only 3 showed. I tried calling their support line but couldn't get through to anyone who could help. The crew that stayed were slow and unprofessional. When the crew unloaded the trucks in Raleigh, they were even shocked at how poorly the furniture was loaded and how much damage resulted. It took multiple calls and emails just to get the claim filed. So far, still no apology and only an insulting offer of $1000 which doesn't even cover the desk that is unusable. (They lost the leg!). Here's a list of the rest of their handiwork: major damage to 3 bedroom dressers and 2 night stands, ruined the upholstery of 6 dining room chairs, shattered a vase, ripped mattress, ruined office credenza surface, scratched our kitchen table, and took 2 of my furniture dolly's. Bellhop advertised they have professional, trained movers and industry's best customer support. Unfortunately, our experience shows just the opposite and in fact, it was the worst moving experience we've ever had and they managed to make it even worse by failing to provide us any support or a reasonable offer to make amends. read more

Initially, I gave Bellhop a good review but that was BEFORE I discovered the damage to my living room chair and mattress. I didn't see it before the movers left because there were boxes stacked in front of and all around the chair. I called Bellhop support as soon as I discovered the damage. This was the start of my extreme dissatisfaction with the company. First, all of a sudden I couldn't reach a live person on the phone. This wasn't a problem before when I was a potential customer but now that there is a problem , no one is available. I left multiple messages and sent several emails with pictures of the damages. It took several days of me constantly reaching out to finally speak to someone on the phone. After submitting the claim as instructed I thought that would be it. They would have someone come out to fix the damages but NO! More hoops to jump through! All of this while trying to unpack, work, deal with other obligations. I am very dissatisfied with this process and the lack of responsiveness of this company. It is mind blowing. I purchased additional insurance for this very circumstance but they make it unnecessarily difficult to file a claim. The movers were great despite the damages but the people running the company will be it's downfall. read more

An amazing experience that I definitely wasn't expecting for the price. These guys were so fast and they did magic to fit things through my tiny door with a staircase right in front of it. Moaz, Taylor and Robert were tetris masters with how they got stuff in that truck. Sure some things got dinged but it's a move, it's gonna happen even when we did the last one ourselves we damaged a bunch of stuff. I still can't believe they got my 4 bedroom house stuffed into that truck and back out in 5 hours. I can't recommend bellhop enough especially at the unbeatable pricing. I think it's luck of the draw on who you get but we got some great movers. Thank you guys! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Stay far away from this company. They canceled TWICE on us the day of our move!!!!! Didn't even tell us either only for us to call to find out the time to say our reservation was canceled and NEVER called us??? Then they confirm to send a team out at 2pm that day..they call at 130pm THIRTY MINUTES before we're supposed to move to say they don't have a team... who does that??? What kind of business runs like this??? When they finally showed up the next day my $3,000 sectional got damaged with holes in it since the movers didn't wrap it... bellhop offered $120 for the damage LOL don't waste your time. I hired Bellop to move a refrigerator from my garage to my basement. It was a disaster from start to finish. First, I paid for three movers, and only two showed up. They showed up without tools or a dollie. Then, one of the movers borrowed one of my screwdrivers and ruined the tip by trying to hammer out the pins in the hinges on a door in my house. Finally, they got a dollie and moved it, scuffing my walls and damaging the refrigerator. What a mess. I am so sorry I called Bellhop. read more

If I was able to give this company zero stars, I would. This is my second time using them (used them back in 2018) and just like my previous move they have damaged and scratched my furniture all over. This time they even chipped my glass top dining table. The problem with this company is the movers' failure to wrap furniture with blankets and also failure to shrink wrap the furniture. They only throw the blankets over the furniture while packing. They moved our items fast and efficiently. HOWEVER.... They lost the legs to my tv which will cost 80$ to replace. Spent countless hours searching for a new pair that fit correctly. They removed the legs from the tv and they were never seen again, even after we have unpacked our five small boxes. They also scraped our dresser and put scratches on our couch (and now the inner foam is coming out). I do not recommend this moving company. read more

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with this company. I only giving two stars because we used them twice, and the first time we didn't have many issues while the second tone, I had many broken furniture, damaged staircase in the brand new home, broken china and not to even mentioned many many scratched pieces of furniture. it's been over two weeks since I filed the claim and I still haven't heard back from the customer service. Please do yourself a favor and hire a different company. it will cost more to fix and replace all the broken items in the long run. The company doesn't hire professional movers not track drivers. I used the bellhops service for the first time after extensively looking at reviews and rating on Yelp and google. I realized it could go really well or really not based on the people but also expectations. The booking was easy - I called them up for a two hour quote and had a time blocked off. I confirmed my move about 5 days before. I had my boxes and furniture packed and ready for the move. Today, my bellhops were Julian and Cora as the lead and they were incredibly easy wonderful to work with. The truck driver was super courteous and professional. The team was professional, courteous, respectful of my things. Thy were on time and helped me move my things into a third floor apt with no elevator. I am very grateful to them and would recommend bellhops to people looking to move. read more

Raleigh Move In Team: Dashaun (Lead), Riley, Dan, and Dandre. They were great. They unloaded the truck quickly and even set up my bed and my couch. Most of my complaint goes to the customer service / customer support I received over the phone. For one, the original crew called a half hour before my original move date on the 26th and cancelled. It was rescheduled two days later which did throw a wrench into my normal scheduling. The move when it happened on the 28th was pretty ok, a few things were left at the old apartment, a couple small scratches on a mirror and a dresser, but I guess those things happen with a move. When I was charged for my move, I was charged over 1000 dollars for a move that was originally quoted to be just under 500 for three hours. I was supposed to get 10 percent off because of a pre booking deal and was told I would receive a discount of 72 dollars to compensate for the cancellation of the move. When I checked my final due balance and what my card was charged, I was charged for 292 an hour for 3 hrs plus 150 dollar service fee, coming out to 1026 over all. This company is such a scam and rip off,.. I originally was quoted a move 150 for the first hour and 125 for the next two and some how I was charged 1026.... needless to say,.. I am a very unhappy customer. I will never use this company again and I will definitely never recommend them. read more

Do not hire this company. We paid nearly $800 and the movers completed half the move then stopped early mind you to tell us there not on the clock anymore and that there not going to continue and that we'd get a free follow up the next day. Ok I get it it's hot out but why did you apply for this job then? Also we have not heard back from bellhop and it's literally the next day and our possesions left in the apartment are about about to be locked in there. I was so relieved that we had hired movers. Ive been in multiple accidents over the years leaving my back completely messed up and this was going to be a huge pressure lifted of my shoulders but instead where -800 in the hole with a half complete job. I'm only give 3 stars trying to be fair. The price and quality of the move all went great. The employees were professional and worked fast to get me moved. BUT During the move the employees dropped and seriously damaged my $2,000 refrigerator. They told me not to worry just file a claim with the company and I'll be taken care of. So I did and after a week I was offered $150 for the damage. I called to explain the value (and provided proof of value) and the extent of the damage. After a day the offered $300 and said that they determine value on weight of the object. $0.60 per pound if I remember correctly. This is a ridiculous policy designed to screw over customers when incidents occur. All in all the move was excellent with the exception of this problem but what's really upsetting is how unwilling the company is to help fairly resolve this problem. Refused to even let me speak with someone in upper management. Yes they are inexpensive but if they damage your property you're out of luck. ​ read more

Our rental truck was packed terribly, and they left lots of stuff. We will be here for at least 3 more hours re-arranging the truck and loading the shit that was left. Ontop of that, the call center customer service team is terrible! They have no sense on compassion in their voices, don't listen to what you're saying, and didn't really help at all! To say I am highly disappointed and unsatisfied with this service would be a GROSS understatement! I WILL NOT be using Bellhop ever again and sure as hell will NEVER recommend them. read more

Careful, they can't move anything over 300 pounds, and if they try, they'll make you sign to remove their liability. I wasn't made aware of this when I signed up for the move, even though I had said I had a huge, very heavy, solid oak china cabinet. I asked if they'd be able to do it, especially since it was so heavy and on the third floor, and they said yeah, no problem. However, the day of came and they were unable to move it. Everything else we could have moved ourselves. Now, we are having to hire actual professionals to move it, costing us an additional 300-500$ just for the one piece, and we've been laughed at by everyone who finds out we hired movers who couldn't move a china cabinet. Customer service simply told me that they could reschedule the move, but it would not be insured, and since they have a two hour minimum, it would be over 300$ with a 25% off "courtesy credit" 4 stars if you're doing a regular little move, as this was pretty much the only issue I had. 1 star if you have anything large, and because I would have never hired them in the first place if they had asked about the weight of the item when I described it and they told me it wouldn't be insured/they wouldn't be able to do it period. read more

Unbelievably slow! It took our very friendly, but inexperienced movers over six hours to move my wife and I out of a 1BR/1.5 Bath condo. Had my wife and I not significant helped on the back half of the move, it would have taken considerably longer. What is most frustrating about the move is the misleading website. After accurately submitting our condo information and estimated move size, we were quoted a two hour timeframe. I said "no way" and bumped the estimate up to four hours, but didn't envision that it would take this long, or that it would go over by 50+% of my "over-estimate." The lack of training and/or preparedness of the movers was most evident when the movers showed up with no furniture pads or moving carts. I supplied two carts that we luckily had in storage, but the lack of pads was obvious as some of our wood furniture was damaged. I even spotted one mover using one of our hand towels as padding when moving a nightstand on the cart. Of course, this was one of the damaged pieces. Shocking stuff. I agreed to the terms at the end of the move, even though it decidedly felt like a ripoff, as I assumed that I'd get nowhere with haggling. Posting an honest review is my only recourse, but I hope that this might save someone the frustration while allowing them choose movers that actually know what they're doing. read more

The staff was on time and clean. One of the team was very careful and conscientious. The other member thought he was playing dodgem with the walls. He kept bumping into the walls with pieces of furniture. We have a king mattress that they dragged across the ground and got all dirty. There is damage on the edge of my dining table which is only 2 years old. At my daughters apartment they gouged the door. I was nervous about my possessions the entire time. Now I have to go through the hassle of making a claim for the damages. Never again would I use Bellhops. read more

Our movers (Darrin D. and James T.) were very friendly, on time, and did a great job being careful with our belongings. I liked that the lead mover (Darrin) got in touch before the move to see if we had any questions (we did) and helped us prepare for the big day. On the down side, it took longer than expected, especially loading the truck in the beginning, so our total cost was almost double what we expected to pay. To their credit, they stayed longer than they were anticipating and kept a positive attitude. We hired Bellhops after a friend us about them - and we had an awesome experience. First off, they were great in helping us find a storage space as we de-cluttered our house to list for sale. Then, they sent Norman J and Jonathan B over to help us with our move. They showed up and started on time, took no breaks, and finished loading our truck super-fast. We drove to the storage location - they followed me over, and we unloaded - also super fast. We have a large house (5 BR a bonus, and a large office) and our belongings that we moved to storage filled the 20+ foot truck from floor to ceiling - there was literally no space when the truck was loaded. Both bellhops were efficient at loading our truck up also - they packed boxes high and the rear and maximized the use of space to fill every available spot on the truck. Both were friendly and courteous - overall an A+ experience. We'll definitely be calling and asking for same same bellhops when we move our stuff back out of storage. We had a great experience with Bellhops moving out of a 2-bedroom condo into a 1-bedroom apartment in an elevator building. Our Bellhops were communicative, timely and hard workers. I will note that we were primarily moving boxes, as well as a mattress, boxspring, and one small dresser. They didn't use moving blankets on the dresser, even though we had moving blankets and they had a pile of blankets in their truck. If I had nice furniture I care about, I might not use Bellhops, but for our needs they were fantastic! read more

Moving is really complicated and difficult, and Bellhops was, by FAR, the most stressful part of my experience. I requested two bellhops and a truck. One of my bellhops didn't show up, so the bellhop that DID show up spent the first half hour messing with the app and trying to find the other guy. Then, I had to help him move things out of my house while we waited for the replacement that showed up an hour and a half after the start time. These guys are not experienced OR trained movers. Most of my furniture was driven into walls and doorframes while they figured out how to get it out of the room. They scuffed walls and floors, and at one point, nearly dropped their dolly and my shelf off of the truck. The move took twice as long as it should of, and the website will tell you that their average move is $230, but even after I spent more than a half hour on the phone with customer service complaining, I was charged over $400. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! IT'S AWFUL AND I WILL DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO WARN THE GENERAL PUBLIC WITH HOW HORRIBLY BAD THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS. THEY ARE NOT A MOVING COMPANY THAT ANYONE SHOULD EVER HIRE!!!!! When I made the reservation I told them that I have 2 heavy items and the driveway was on a steep incline. They showed up LATE. When they arrived, their moving equipment was NOT sufficient to do the job. The moving dolly I had was far more sturdy and reliable than theirs. They had no straps or any moving accessories. All of the boxes and smaller items were outside the house, all they had to do was walk from approximately 25 feet to place them on the truck. When they realized they had a much harder job than they were prepared for, the lead mover (1 of 2 movers) stopped loading the truck and called the company to ask for more reinforcement. Bellhop then called me and told me that they were going to have to send 2 more movers and it was going to double the original quote. At that point I waited for them to send the additional movers and they never did, nor did they call me back like they said they would. I had to call them to find out how all my stuff would be loaded. The additional movers were never sent. I was not able to have all my stuff moved. I only had one day to accomplish the move. The entire time the driver who was not a Bellhop employee, who worked for the company who owned the truck, distracted the Bellhop movers, talked about other Bellhop employees she didn't like while the movers were supposed to be moving my stuff into my storage unit. I had to instruct the Bellhop movers how to organize the removal of the items out of the truck and into the storage unit. If executed the way they were planning, it would've added and additional hour or 2 onto the move! At that point I was beyond done. I had to help move the items because I saw right through the intentions of the movers to make additional money off a situation that was unbelievably horrendous. DO NOT HIRE THEM! THEY'RE A WRETCHED COMPANY THAT WILL NOT DELIVER AND WILL STILL CHARGE YOU! read more

Raleigh, NC. Bellhop did not show up. Cancelled our move 30 minutes after the movers were supposed to be there. Booked a month in advance with a deposit. Texted with the mover the night before. Move was supposed to start at 10am. At 10am I received a call from the mover that I was texting with the night before saying his 8am move was taking much longer than anticipated because the customer did not have elevator access on the 6th floor and had move items than on their inventory list. (Why was there an 8am move when my move was scheduled for 10am?????? Why was I being SEVERLY inconvenienced because the 8am customer was not honest on the inventory list?) The mover that I spoke with mentioned he might be able to have 2 people of his crew come over to get us started and the truck should already be there. I told him to please send the other guys over because we had a limited time with the elevator/loading dock reserved with my apartment building. 30 minutes later I called him back and he was surprised Bellhop hadn't already called me because they had to "reschedule" my move. I had to call Bellhop for them to tell me that they did not have a moving team available. The people with Bellhop that I spoke to LIED to me multiple times, contradicting what the mover had told me. They absolutely left me hanging out to dry with no remorse. We had to be out of the apartment the next day. Bellhop had said their only availability was 2 days later on a workday........... I am disgusted with how little they cared about screwing us. DO NOT BOOK BELLHOP. THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE. read more

ok so I got the offer for my damages which was nothing more than a insult! they offered me 60.00 on a dresser that is way more than that. they don't seem to understand that if the dresser is moved it will collapse due to the damage that their mover caused! I again called n asked to speak to someone in billing. I was left on hold for 10 minutes n then disconnected. if they were good business people they would adjust the bill but once they get your money you're screwed!
