I am convinced that the 5 star reviews for this place must be fake because I just can not imagine how anyone could be happy with being overcharged and getting zero customer service. This facility will sucker you in with low prices for the first month and then the prices jump significantly each year. If the facility was well maintained I wouldn't mind the prices so much but sadly that is not the case; the roof leaked in my unit so most of my stuff is now moldy and rotted. The door seal on my door and all the other doors around the facility is rotted away completely so there are bugs and all of my stuff is dirty now. Some of my stuff is still wet, I don't even know how that's possible - it's the end of August! I tried to bring this up with management so that they could take a look at it and get a claim going but there is no one on site and they do not answer their phones. I pay $200+ a month for a storage unit the size of a broom closet, I would think the least Public Storage could do is maintain their facility and answer their phone. If I can't trust that my stuff will still be safe then what am I even paying them for? read more

DO NOT , I repeat DO NOT , book a unit here ! They are completely unresponsive, they do not pick up the phone . There is only one elevator on one side of the building. It's basically impossible to move a 3 bedroom home into a unit upstairs. I gate will literally shut on your vehicle before you have time to get through it . Front desk staff is non existent. And to top it all off there is not a single sign saying you can't get a trailer around the facility. I got my truck stuck and strained there until 9pm at night and almost was locked in . I give Maria a 5-star, easily!! But docking stars for business. BE ADVISED: Buildings lock about 15-20 mins PRIOR to gate closing!! I have my car-keys hanging on my unit lock inside. Rushed down to get an item really quick, and was locked outside the building by 8:45pm due to an automatic locking mechanism. Gate hours are until 9PM. It is now 10PM. Car keys hanging in my open unit, and I'm stuck outside until 6AM at the earliest. After-hours Public Storage support was amazing, but they do NOT have access to the building doors. Actually should be zero stars. I don't recall encountering a business as dishonest as my experience has been with this storage facility. I was assigned an exterior unit where leaves and debris make their home regularly entering from below under the metal roll-down door. Maria the attendant mentioned it was hard for her to keep up with the debris the wind blew into the area in front of my unit but never disclosed this troublesome issue as any professional would have. Sure enough weeks later after strong winds in the area, I went to my unit to get some things AND EVERYTHING WAS FILTHY WITH DIRT AND LEAVES that came in FROM ABOVE THE ROLL-DOWN GATE. Coats, clothing, handbags, luggage all covered with dirt and it was even inside my boots. The maddening part beyond the dishonesty to fill her quotas is why wouldn't she and Public Storage see to something being put up in the openings to protect their customers belongings and to avoid their shock and aggravation - or at least to let you know to cover your belongings!! Asking for too much? The punch line is that when I consolidated she said people don't realize the winds in the area are so bad. WHAT!!! Lousy location. Inside units, but no elevators to ride. Send your belongs up on a lift and dash up the stairs long enough to greet them before someone else. Badly maintained, lousy location, dishonest staff and your property will be soiled. My move in experience was great. After that, it went downhill. No one told me that they were going to be doing construction on the hallway of my unit (or that, as a result, everything in my unit would be COVERED in a 1/4" of sawdust). I took time off of work to do the bulk of the move out, and I arrived to find the elevator taped off in preparation for painting the hallway (photo attached). I received no notice of this, and was not able to move much out that day as a result. I received a letter later advising that there were be additional painting starting on Oct. 25th and that plastic coverings would be available. When I went to office a couple days before the 25th to get this plastic sheeting, they didn't have any. Also, the cart in my building was missing the handle for at least a month, making it difficult to move out when I was actually able to use the elevator. When I called to speak with the manager, I left three voice mails and never received a call back. Based on my experience, the operation is a disorganized, unprofessional mess. Also, it seems there's no way to leave a review on the actual Public Storage website (at least, I can't figure it out) ... which is super fishy since they seem to have hundreds of 5 star reviews on there... read more

First time renting a storage unit. Maria was very helpful and walked me through the whole process. She showed me the storage units, told me about the pros and cons of each one which I really appreciated. She even showed me how to use the app. It was funny honestly. A young looking senior showing a 23 year old how to use the storage app I really appreciated it. She also calls you the first chance she gets if it's anything regarding your unit. A lot of communication is better than no communication at all. As for the other reviews dumping on this place they just sound like a bunch of Karen's. There are things that Maria can't control, so don't listen to them. Take a look at the place, get to know Maria, and you'll see why this Storage Place has the highest rating in Santa Clarita. Other than a few days of miscommunication I ended up getting the storage unit I needed for the dollar promotion and so far so good! Tara was very helpful and friendly upon arrival to see my unit. She explained everything very thoroughly and detailed. At the end of my check in she left me with zero questions. I always use public storage for my moving needs! I have been with them since January of 2019. Maria helped our family. At the time I had a Toddler (who is now 2.5) and I was pregnant with my 2nd. Maria was efficient, honest and took the time to hear exactly what our needs were and how to make sure Public Storage met our needs cost effectively. Then about last month we decided to transfer into a bigger unit until we relocate. Unfortunately we are one of the thousands of families that was left displaced thanks to Pandemic. My husband misplaced the keys to the storage and I contacted Maria and asked her if Public Storage had a copy of the key or could cut the lock. Since she didn't have that authority, she suggested the next most cost efficient way to get it unlocked sign a document and get a new lock. So that is what we have done. She is always patient and super friendly. She goes above and beyond for the customers and helps them. She also has now informed me of the public storage app which I will download to make it that much easier to get in and out of the complex. Maria is such an asset to not only Public Storage but to the customers who are here. You aren't just a customer she makes you feel like family! read more

Can't stand this place. I've had a unit here for 20 years. The constant price increases and occasional rude worker. Too many rules, too tight of lanes, easy fence to hop if someone wants to sneak in makes this a lousy place to store your stuff. It gets really really hot in the units as well. Funky bathroom. I finally got outta there. This last increase was the straw that broke my back. Got a unit 1 1/2 times larger, with temperature control, nice people, very very clean, free coffee, free waters, and a very nice and clean bathroom. Add to that nicer hours and a gate code you set yourself and it's a No-Brainer!! Stay away from this Public Storage! read more

We had to rent a storage locker as we are preparing for a move (and I do not trust the movers with everything we own). We paid Public Storage six months in advance (this is one way around price increases) and we declined the optional insurance with AIG (they are known for declining claims). Besides, their insurance (named perils) is redundant with my Homeowners Insurance (thru Amica). We were helped by Lidiya who was very helpful and walked us thru the process.
