We have used Public Storage twice now and we have been very pleased both times. Staff is very professional & friendly, and outdoor storage area is easy to access using a personalized key code. It is cheaper to prebook it online though, just a tip! The representative toured me two different spaces and was very patient with me as I decided whether to go with a 10x10 or 10x20 space. BEWARE of bait and switch pricing practices!!! Offer great prices up front, then raised our monthly price by 30% after two months! The local office did not return my calls and the 800 number had no option to talk to a representative. I finally had to use the chat feature on their website to discuss the issue with anyone. When I contacted then regarding the price increase, they told me "rates for existing customers are in most cases higher than than these new customer promotional rates." I understand that a promotional deal is common practice to attract new customers, but what about your current customers who are continuing to support you? A $40 price increase after only two months is excessive! read more

Showed up to my unit to add stuff yesterday. Roof was leaking. Furniture and boxes wet. When we talked to the person in the office a different unit was offered. The first 3 alternative units we looked at were also wet. While the price is good, there is risk your things will get wet. Inspect your unit after a rain to better gauge how safe your stuff will be in it. Notice if the insulation in the ceiling is moldy or out of shape because of being wet. Note the rust on metal pieces in the unit where water stands. The person in the office was helpful, but unlikely to be responsible for maintaining the roof. read more

James did an outstanding job. However, every year my rent increased and James did nothing about giving me a discount. Consequentially I had to pay $520 to 1800 got junk to throw all my stuff away. James was also a jerk about me throwing stuff in the dumpster. He said it was too full so I couldn't put anything else in there Consequentially I had to shuttle the extra junk to the dumpster at my home. Don't get me wrong James is doing a great job. He can't help it that he works for blood suckers. read more

I just moved back to the area for a job. I was stressed out because I paid for storage unit at another place. The customer service was not awful, but I was left at the counter several times while the young lady checked her phone and chatted with co workers. I went to the unit which took about 20 minutes to find because of poor directions given. Alarm went off when I tried to open the unit. Needless to say I didn't move anything into the unit. I went to Public Storage at 3677 E Kemper Road. Gwen was absolutely great, from the cheerful greeting. She took the time to help me with my online reservation, walked out with me to show me the unit. She was personable and attentive to my needs as her customer. She went above and beyond to ensure that I was satisfied. I truly appreciate her time and her outstanding customer service. I came in frustrated and in a matter of minutes I was smiling. Thank you Gwen for turning my frown upside down. read more

Don't want to keep long term customers who pay on time. Will give you the current special and then increase your price every 3 months. But you have to buy their overpriced lock and they will lie to your face to try get you to buy their insurance (homeowners insurance usually covers this) so in the end its not even a special deal! Definitely not the cleanest option available. Looking to move out to a place that knows the meaning of customer service (or just general decency). read more

This is the only storage facility I have ever been to, and I've rented from many, where you have to physically get out of your car to punch thru the gate, it may seem like not a big deal, but when you are having to get in and out, or it's raining, it is a huge PITA. 2nd, They WILL bump up your rent price by 10% every few months, and don't think you can try negotiating, either. If you believe you have been a diligent, on time rent payer for over a year and half, and hope to lock in a rate, you are wrong, they will not allow it, and Public Storage customer service will not care. Been there, done that. BUT, they will tell you you can move out, move in to a different unit, in the same building, and you can get their current rates. Makes no f'ing sense. 3rd, You better get insurance, and you better make it good because their roofing leaks and it will get your belongings wet. I had a mattress and memory foam mattress pad ruined, along with some paintings, text books, and other miscellaneous items. If you like paying more for being a loyal customer, and you like rust stains on your belongings, and you like not being able to have any say in negotiating your current rent rate because it is much HIGHER than their current rates, this is most definitely the place for you. read more

Was not impressed. They over charge, raise the amount and the facility is only as secure as your lock. I would only recommend finding another place to store your belongings, that's much more cost efficient. read more
