She took me through the steps of how to use the lock and was super helpful with additional questions I had. Manager couldn't just be sympathetic and was rude after many inconveniences caused by public storage not me

I will never use public storage again. I was forced to move to a different location since the original location I was at got "storm damage". This was the email update I finally received from them regarding the storm damage. "As we notified you previously, our facility located at 2490 Herodian Way SE experienced significant damage from the recent storms.  We have now reopened our facility, and are contacting our customers to set appointments to visit the property to assess storage spaces for damage.  At this time, unit access is only available by appointment.  We will contact you within the next few days to schedule a time for you to visit the facility and inspect your space.  Please do not come to the property unless you have a scheduled appointment." Prior to going to my storage, no one told me I would have to move to a different storage location. Also, When I got there to move out, I was told I was responsible to move everything out on my own. No truck nor help was provided. That was strike 1. When I was talking to the property manager regarding where to move to, I guess there were no other options but to put me in a bigger unit? Which I did not ask for... and of course the bigger unit cost way more than what I was paying now. She said public storage will still charge me the same amount I've been paying. I said fine. A month later, I noticed my amount went up $76! I reached out to public storage multiple times for a month and a half. They said someone will get back to be within 72 hours.... 2 months later, I called yet again for an update on my account - which the lady I spoke to over the phone said the price increase happened Bc "on the contract I signed, the unit is subject to a price increase". I understand that part, but I feel like that is the biggest excuse ever. It's interesting how they are now saying that excuse when I've been asking for an update the past few months. The lady, I believe her name was Rita from customer care, was also super unpleasant to deal with as she raised her voice and spoke over me in the middle of my explanation! That was my last straw. Oh and also, good luck trying to get an update from the insurance company from the storm damage claim! 2.5 months since I've put a claim in and still havnt heard from anyone. read more

Nice property manager and the storage space works for me. I didn't feel pressured and the process was easy. I'll update my review in Update: I thought the facility was open 24/7 or that I could gain entry with my code. It was a little misleading, and asked would I be able to gain entry at any time. Let me begin by saying that l just rented a unit yesterday May 28, 2023. It was Sunday and yes they were open, thank goodness. Star #1. The person at the desk was immediately friendly and helpful. That was Star #2. I explained my need and she immediately gave me clear options Star #3. I took a while to find my ID then was a little confused as to how to sign on the machine (old age) and both times she was patient, told me to take my time as she kindly helped me. Stars #4 and #5 After reviewing the contract clearly, she gave me my code and locker number explained each step and offered to show me how they worked. What a nice young lady to work with. I think she has done a wonderful job correcting past issues the company experienced. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! They will up your rent price and give you no recourse, despite having the same units available for lower prices. They will tell you that you can't move to a different unit to keep the same agreed upon price, that you would have to wait 7 days out of a unit, before moving to a different unit. COMPLETE SCAM! 2490 Herodian Way in Smyrna is a TERRIBLE facility. Incompetent management and staff. They make it almost impossible to close a unit once you have an account, and continue to bill your credit card. What a SCAM. It took me over two months to close my unit. I made numerous trips to the facility and dozens of calls to the local and home offices of Public Storage. The published telephone number takes you to a dead-end voice-mail that is out of service. Yet when you call the national office seeking help, they say you must either call the DEAD-END phone number or go to the CLOSED business office at the facility. When you go to the facility, no one is there, or if someone is there they say they have no authority to close your unit. Do yourself a favor - go elsewhere. You don't deserve this misery. Worst customer service I have received from any business in my entire life. read more

The agent KEISHA is rude and disrespectful. She is unable to explain the details of contract. She is unable to make the extra charge for $1 first month deal. She bucked up at my daughter yaunna outside in the parking lot and my daughter was about to END the social distancing and go upside her head. I think the chick is psycho. They jack up the prices whenever they please!! They will "send you a notice" about it. Don't go in to get a unit either, they have online deals that are wayyyyy better. For example, a medium unit (5x5) is $58 right now as opposed to going in and it being $71(and then $81 after a month because they said they can). If you can do some research on other places, I would. This one was just convenient because it was across the street but for the price, it is, it's not worth it. read more

The storage isn't bad itself, HOWEVER do not get fooled by $1 a month adverstisement, you will end up paying close to $60 for the first month. If you do not want the storage insurance they can not make you get it. I told the customer service representative while doing paper work that I did not need insurance due to me having insurance already! They literally will not refund you, and they will make you go in circles trying to get your refund, they'll tell you to call the Orange door insurance people and they will bullshit you too by saying they aren't able to refund you as well. First and last time going through public storage AND orange door insurance. read more

The terms online were far different from the actual terms at the physical location. This was always handed off with "it's a national site and we don't make it"... Then, you ought to mention these extra charges up front and not at the end. Their understanding of their own insurance coverage was laughable. And, when I tried to get in touch with them to get the refund I was due (per Matt who was in the office when I leased my unit) after finding that my renter's policy covered a storage unit, no one would call me back. They could leave a voicemail hoping my move-in was fine while I was on the phone with the insurance company, but certainly not call me back. Oh, and not all units are $1 for the first month...not even any fine print for that one. Such a disappointment. read more

This place overcharged my elderly mother moving in. Then after she gave a two week notice moving out and got out before the end of the month they send her another $209 bill for Next month. Angela at this location was soooo nice, helpful and kind from the minute I walked in until I left!!!! So refreshing to have someone care so much that I was totally happy with my unit and size......you never get this level of customer service anywhere!!! Thanks for having such great people work for you!!! She even followed up with me to make sure everything was working out!!! Just so easy and stress free.....when I walked in I was totally stressed out from moving.....and was laughing and happy when I left thanks to this very sweet and special girl!!!
