A large door to the storage building has been completely broken for months, and stays open continuously. We have contacted them several times about this broken door, but they don't fix it. This compromises security, because the surrounding fence isn't very high, and so it's easy to get into the facility. Also, who knows what animals roam freely in the building, and into the units. A woman who was at her storage unit told me that she felt unsafe there, with the large door open all of the time. There is rarely anyone in the office, so it's pretty much abandoned. They also don't clean it. The same trash was in the hallway for weeks. Find another storage facility, is my recommendation. read more

I had the storage unit for approximately 5 months and they already want to go up on the price. This is just ridiculous to me considering it's a simple non heated storage unit. Basically a small 10x10 garage. The customer service is also terrible as you very seldom get hold of someone at the facility. They don't respond to emails or voice mail. I also could not get the app to work until the day I moved out. (This is not fabricated) I spoke to a few different people when I could catch them at the facility and no one could figure out why I could never connect to the app to access the facility. I suspect some sort of update was performed on the app to correct the issue but I was never notified. As I said I discovered it was working on the day I moved out. I will try a different facility next fall when I am ready to store again. read more

I am not a review writer, especially for a storage unit company! I have had my storage units for about 3 months now and the units were clean and entry to them originally went smoothly. But, over the last month there have been a few bumps in the storage road. I have expressed my concerns to a couple public storage workers, nothing was done. Last weekend I had difficulty entering the locked area during the before office hour accesses with a car load of belongings . Came back a second time still the gate did not open, called 800 number, again no accesses. I received a call from a worker named Ti ( not sure of spelling) she first apologized for the inconvenience, granted I was not a happy person at this time. "T" remained pleasant and professional!! She assured me she would look into the issue. When I returned the gate was working. "T" also went out of her way to called me back to make sure things were ok and was able to get me a partial credit for my inconvenience! In the past three months "T" is the first worker that gone above and beyond to make sure the customer was happy for the Public Storage Company! This was such an easy going experience. I booked and paid online, received my access code through text, and the lock they provided, which did cost a little extra, was already in my 10x10 unit. At first I thought the lock was a little costly at 19.99, but its such a good quality lock, and they give you the option to bring in your own and get a full refund for the lock they provide. I didn't even have to interact with any people face to face which at the time was a relief to me, due to the stress I have been facing. The prices are lower if you book online and cheaper than any other storage facility I looked at. I recommend Public Storage 100%! I can drive right up to my unit. I'm extremely pleased! read more

Absolutely terrible, my first word of warning is that before investing in a storage unit you need to consider if you really need it or the stuff you are storing. I moved out of North Buffalo a few years ago, upon the move and the downsizing of living space I got a storage unit and have kept it ever since, 4 or 5 years later I rarely go into it and often forget I have it until I get that payment reminder. Now several years later I have furniture I can't fit into mt place and boxes I'm going through to find out what I have, what I've duplicated, etc while having a hefty bill over the years.....spending approximately $1600.00 year, that's a lot of money that could have stayed in my wallet. After all that I would have to say that a few of the benefits of Public Storage is that you can pay online and avoid the creeper at the desk. (More on that later) Also the place is pretty secure, if the zombie apocalypse broke out I might just hunker down here. In order to get into the main space you must use your assigned key code, recently updated so there is less to enter. This code/gate welcomes you by name so obviously there is some tracking and accountability there since you have to use this code to enter and exit each gate and if you have an indoor unit it has to be used for the door. The other benefit is the option of an indoor - temperature controlled unit. If you spend a long time in the unit the motion sensor will not see you and it will go dark on you and the individual unit could be light better but its nice avoiding the elements or if you have items that need to avoid the elements. My issue with this place is the staff, namely the creeper Joe at the desk. I will fully admit that I am not a star tenant, I've paid late and once recovered from an "auction" status but his attitude is terrible for a service based industry. His tone can come off as preachy and demeaning and when I got my unit he almost FB stalked him since we had gone to the same high school and had a mutual friend. He knew stuff about me just walking in, which made me uncomfortable. I'm happy to say I'm out of it now, that's MORE MONEY in my pocket and I've been able to rid myself of items that I apparently don't need if it has been in storage for so long. Remember though when vacatinh your unit you must place a departure date 30 days in advance. read more

It was easy to sign up for a unit, but everything else is awful. The access code I was given hasn't worked since I got my unit, so I can only use the app to access the gates and doors. However, the app doesn't work on my unit section's door.... There's one door currently broken inside the facility and it's being held together by a bungee cord LOL. Very secure. Now that I am switching units and have 2 units until the end of the month, the app is confused and won't let me access anything unless I insert my new access code that actually works. If it wasn't such a hassle to find & move to a new storage facility, I would. the climate controlled unit is fine, the logistics and administration of this company isn't worth it. read more

Great place, unit was super clean and door closed with little or no gap for weather to get in. Staff was helpful and based on my planed time of renting storage, one of their associates gave me a reasonable price that made it competitive enough that I went with public storage. The open gate from phone function is first class, especially on mornings like this morning when it was 26 degrees out. And thanks to this upgrade I didn't need to leave my truck to keypad punch my way thru the gate. If I can get a competitive price next year, hope to see you again next year. read more

Are you kidding me?! I rented 2 large units for a couple months in between moves. The level of inconvenience still baffles me. In order of shock; #1 You are moving. You are probably driving a large truck, maybe a uhaul. If you drive into this place YOU WILL BREAK THINGS. The curb is like a pothole that grew a skyscraper. You can't physically drive slow enough to stave off damage. #2 You are probably going to need something from your storage unit at some point. They changed the keycode to get in during our 2 months stay. Sure, bad luck right? They could have emailed or called (I know this because they emailed and called ALL THE TIME for reviews, billing *reminders*, and confirmations). The instructions would have been; it's your same code but reversed. I can't get over this. I had family in town and needed to get a mattress out of the unit - we drove up and COULDN'T GET IN... DURING OPEN HOURS. The office was closed and no emergency number. #3 Well, good luck trying to pay your bill. I had to go TO THEIR OFFICE to pay, during their open hours (much like bank hours when maybe we're all ALSO working). I am a millennial. I understand my weaknesses - and I eventually broke down and used a phone to call to pay (like using my text machine for voice calls? what?!). But still, no, I had to go IN TO THE OFFICE to pay. To be fair, on my second unit, I was able to set up online payments. So there IS a system that CAN work but not for all accounts. #4 The attitude. When trying to remember my unit number (to get my new code... the one that prevented me from hosting my family... from point #2), I got confused and said the wrong number. I GET YELLED AT. My boyfriend calls one guy, "A grumpy Kevin Smith." Silverlining - there is one very helpful, pleasant, dutiful employee at this facility. She was the only thing between me moving all of my stuff to another facility. But that's 1 person out of MANY. read more

I have so far had excellent service with this storage unit company! They were friendly on the phone. Instructions for online sign up were user friendly as was the on-site access. On sight gate opened easy to find my unit and it was clean and dry and ready for my belongings with provided lock and key!! read more

We reserved a storage cage online and had a confirmation call from Joe, the manager at this location. Joe helped me make a change to the start date so that we could still take advantage of a promotional deal for the first month. When I showed up a few weeks later to start using the cage, Joe explained the paperwork clearly and really demonstrated professional care and interest in helping me. The facility and hallways are clean, and I am impressed, especially in comparison to a few other places we looked at. read more

Completely horrible. Useless. The pin pad is ALWAYS BROKEN. Therefore, you can only access your unit during business hours until 6PM. The manager (Joe) is of no help at all, ever. This place should be shut down. read more

I had a small unit, indoors in the section behind the office, it was perfect for my needs, climate controlled and clean. the facility is easy to get to, close to the highway and . the site manager lives upstairs so even after-hours it's well supervised if you have to ask me to find even one small thing to complain about, I guess I would mention that all the keypads to enter and leave, are so ancient, that the numbers are all rubbed off - you can sort of figure out the numbers but unless you know intuitively where the * and # buttons are, you're toast. read more

First of all, if you are going to rent a unit here, bring your own lock. If you don't, Joe-the-manager will slap one on your newly rented unit for the additional fee of $19.95--I told him I already owned one and asked if I could bring it and swap it out with his when I brought my truck of stuff...that would be a big fat "no." I played phone tag with the regional manager over that one--to no avail with the outcome. The second red flag to those renting--your homeowners insurance will cover the items in your unit (call your Ins. agent and find out!). I insisted I did NOT want the insurance (even the cheapest choice was $11 per month--I was already paying a mint for the little I was getting in the first place, I did not want to pay any more on top of it). After I contacted my insurance agent, and then the regional manager (phone tag guy), I was "allowed" to have my homeowners insurance cover my stuff and NOT take Public Storage insurance--which had been FORCED on me (as I tried to tell Joe in the first place!). Then there was the rate increase...(sigh), the list of run-and-don't-look-back just goes on and on. And the final "something"--when I emptied my unit, it was 9 days into the new month. I had a feeling I knew what the answer would be before I asked it, but I tempted fate--could I have my monthly fee pro-rated? I didn't even get the whole question out before Joe snapped, "No! That was in the contract! You had to have the unit clear on the last day of October to not pay in November." "I figured," I sarcastically shot back, "just thought I'd ask." And I walked out of there--NEVER TO RETURN!! If I EVER need to rent a storage unit again, I will find ANYWHERE ELSE but here!!! read more

Horrible Experience !!!! We live 7hrs away from a University located close to this location. We put many items from my son's dorm room in storage for the summer. We come back in the fall right before school is about to start to find all the items stolen from the unit !!! The lock was still intact and unit looked undamaged but somehow someone removed lock and stole items then put the lock back. The lock itself was purchased from Public Storage and we were the only ones that were supposed to have the keys. The local and regional management for Public Storage was useless and did nothing to resolve the issue. Everyone we spoke said the sounds like a classic inside job. RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK read more
