I had numerous phone calls with Mike and we traded phone calls, texts, emails. I was asked to have a person at the site where items were to be moved from. I was asked to have someone be there 30 minutes before the movers were scheduled to be there. I had queried whether to have the movers would like to utilize a basement bay or the front door. I was assured that the movers would prefer to utilize the front door. The movers had a 2 hour window and they never made it to the office in that time frame. They called 20 minutes after the window and said they would be there in 15 minutes. 45 minutes after the 2 hour window they called back saying that they were at the basement bay. I informed them that I was told that they would prefer the front door. It was not until 60 minutes after the 2 hour window that they made it to the office. It took them 15 minutes to move the truck from the back of the building to the front. They were pleasant enough. They moved the items to where they needed to go. I am not impressed that after all the communication there was time lost and more expense for us because of the lack of clarity between Mike and his movers. We were moving from our old home of many years and needed our heavier items moved that we couldn't do ourselves. This consisted of dressers vertical and horizontal,both light and very heavy; bed mattress and bed frame, refrigerators and a small stand-alone freezer, and oh tea...an upright piano. It costs more to move the piano but it IS heavy. Appointment made for today Friday and they arrived on time and started to work immediately after reviewing the contract and noted their starting time. When it came to moving the piano, they brought out padded moving blankets and used it on the door, screen door and outside railing! In ALL my years watching others get moved and during my few moves alone, I have neVer seen padding used to protect the doorway and the piano! Everything was moved with care and concern which delighted us course! We had paid a deposit and the two-hour rate in advance, and as they finished almost exactly at the two-hour mark, we weren't required to pay anything else. They were friendly, fast, efficient and personable. We are VERY happy and should we move again, will contact them. We highly recommend them!! read more

I needed to move my household stuff from Grand Island to Lackawanna and so I made several calls to multiple movers. The Moving Doctors were really super interested in helping us from the get-go, whereas the other places wanted to call me back to discuss details (and then never called) or just quoted me a ridiculously high number to begin with. Mike talked to me on the phone for a really long time and we talked about every room in my house and every possible stick of furniture and box that might come out of my house. Their prices were completely reasonable and even when we needed to reschedule at the proverbial last minute they were able to work with us and get a new move date without too much of a delay. On the appointed date, our movers showed up early, and asked a lot of questions and got to work. They were able to empty our house in a safe and speedy manner and then emptied their truck at our house in an amazingly efficient way. One of their crew kept us entertained with card tricks while the other finished up the paperwork at the end of the day. I apologize for not remembering their names! We had a great experience with The Moving Doctors. From setting up the service to the very end. Upon arrival, the whole crew walked the property to have a complete picture of what needed to be moved. The team of 4 immediately got to work in different sections of the house. A team member was stationed at the truck assembling the tetris puzzle of boxes and furniture to ensure nothing got damaged. The owner took great care to make sure fragile items like TV's and appliances were moved carefully and without any damage. I can't say enough about the Moving doctors. It's been a minute since I used them but realized I never wrote them a review! I used them when I purchased my house and the initial order was very minimal but they were up for the job!! 2 days before I closed, I was in a terrible accident and was no longer able to move as much as I was expecting on my own. I called and they were more than accommodating to adding more boxes (a lot more) to my order which added time. The crew was extremely nice and professional. Used them a while back. Really wanted to give a good review simply because Joshua was so nice, professional, arrived on time, & fairly speedy loading up the truck in a little more than an hour. But, there's a lot of buuuts... Was moving from/to 1BR apartment, & afraid they were going to have to make a 2nd trip & cost me way more than quoted due to the small size of the truck. They JUST managed to squeeze it all in. Were playing Tetris in there, I swear. 20-min drive added in travel time to new place, which I expected. So far we're at the 1.5 hr mark & I thought it was all good. Both apts approx same distance from exterior doors. It was the unloading where things bogged down. Part of the 3-man crew was a young kid who was apparently still learning, too delicate to lift much, didn't quite grasp the concept that building a tower of boxes works better when the smallest one isn't getting squashed to death on the bottom, thought the bathtub was a great place to build that in (because linen closets are a foreign concept when it comes to shelving for sm boxes?), & hooked on phonics didn't work for him because even tho all boxes were labeled as to what room (in a 1BR, there's only 4), he asked me where to put Every. Single. Box. he brought in. Even so, he got it wrong a few times. OK, I get he was new, but still annoying af, especially when I realized I had to unpack the tub. What was REALLY ANNOYING was that they brought boxes in FIRST. This made for A LOT of unnecessary shifting (& time/money wasted). You're supposed to bring in the furniture 1st. You don't fill up a whole room with boxes which you then have to move over & over in order to get furniture into the room! Evidently they didn't know countertops were a good place for boxes, so kitchen floor also full of them. C-shaped kitchen with lots of countertops on 3 sides, all empty. Went back out to the truck & asked Joshua why they were taking up valuable floor space with wobbly, unbalanced piles of boxes instead of bringing furniture in 1st. He said it was because (with exception of mattress/box spring, sofa, & loveseat, all of which had to be stood on end to squeeze into the truck) the boxes were atop the furniture. And I mean, ATOP. I mean, like 6-ft stacks to the ceiling on antiques (told Mike they needed to be extremely careful with) inherited from deceased relatives! Suggested they stack boxes next to truck to unearth furniture. Joshua began doing that, but the other 2 kept taking them away! Until he realized it & explained the new plan. I was 1st job of the day, we were at new place by 10:40am. I'd expected the unloading would be same time as loading, but nope.....not when they had to keep rearranging boxes! Mike estimated approx 3-3.5 hrs, but it took almost that long just for them to unload! So around 5 hrs total, with final cash payment being much higher than quoted. I just couldn't understand how they could be so fast & efficient at one end & so slooow and suddenly stupid at the other end. As morning turned into afternoon, I was kicking myself for not keeping the card of the last movers I'd used. Those guys showed up 15 min early at 7:45am, were done by 11am, did it right. (Probably?) my bad (?).....I didn't think to buy an assortment of cold drinks for the movers. I did, however, think it was rather presumptuous of one of them to put a hand on the fridge door handle and ask if I had anything inside for all of them to drink. Did you move any in? Then sorry, no, most people winnow down pantries/fridges when moving, order a pizza/2 lt. later, then stock up at supermarket once kitchen's organized. I felt bad because I hadn't thought of it, but I was still a little perturbed to be put on the spot like that. It's not my fault you didn't come prepared to do hot, sweaty work on a hot day, and it's certainly not my fault you're still here because you have to keep rearranging everything! The worst was long after they left. As I was unpacking, cleaning, polishing, I was horrified to see the damage done to my solid wood furniture. My brand-new bookcases were scratched af! The wood apron on both sofa & loveseat were scraped up. One end of my coffee table was nicked & gouged. My great-aunt's 1939 Gothic tracery table & my grandmother's 1935 parquet inlaid end tables sustained some scrapes. Her 1935 cedar chest was scratched & nicked af. I wanted to cry. Liquid Gold can make smaller damage fade, but you really can't do a thing about gouges & nicks. Oh, & everything upholstered was filthy from truck. Glad I got disposable mattress bags. Which got torn. No, I did not call Mike every time I discovered fresh damage. 1st, he only has certain hrs when he takes/returns calls because he's "out of the office". Um, cell phone, maybe? Have to agree with other reviewers that the girl who answers the phone there is rude. Like she can't be bothered. Plus there's no "replacement value" on sentimental antiques. The hell that is moving a loved one is only compounded by the family involved (unavoidable), but who you are smart enough to hire help you with what you can't/don't want t move isn't. From start to finish, I'm glad I chose the Moving Doctors to deal with in this situation.  I called 5 (no exaggeration) local companies to help with the move of my favorite (only....lol she loves calling me on that one) Aunt from one senior apartment to another.  I had recently moved her from Florida after a slight "hurricane" incident last fall (2017). The move was 3 days of driving "fun" again involving family and more "fun" than can contractually (politely) be told here.  I received no response from 3 of the 5, one told me that they didn't have the dates I needed for the move open, and the 5th said that they were booked for the dates I needed, but gave me the number for The Moving Doctors. When I called The Moving Doctors, the called me back within a day to make arrangements for the move. Dave was understanding of my situation and began by telling me his hourly charges and what needed to happen as we proceeded. As the family had dropped it in my lap with absolutely no guidelines, I was ecstatic with someone giving me both guidelines and options. After I described what needed to be moved and the possibility of "extras" (since I didn't know what all would be needed), I was given a price, which was broken down into travel time, start times, and possible difficulties.  It was clear that Dave and his company had dealt with the facility my aunt lived in because he described several details of the building that were spot on. I agreed to the quoted hourly price, he took my credit card info, and gave me a reminder that cancelling needed to be timely if anything changed because it was the end of the month and a full schedule.  Fast forward to the day of the move (3 weeks later), I received a call from The Moving Doctors (well within the moving window quoted me), and was told they would be there within 20 minutes. 15 minutes later, a large truck pulled up and 3 dashingly heroic (OK, I'm just glad I didn't have to move all the stuff and these guys were like the Avengers to me... sue me) got out and went to work.  Kind, friendly, and well-mannered is not an exaggeration.  Several times in the halls of the "senior apartments" the gentlemen encountered residents whose progress could be described as glacial (they moved as fast as they could, but honestly if I live that long, I'm going to be slower just because I've earned it) and they politely waited to the side and said, "Ladies, first" or "No, sir, after you."  They worked hard, they moved quickly, and they were proud of the job that they were doing. It showed in the care they took with my aunt's things, their attention to detail, and the way they set things up at her new apartment.  When the dust finally settled (metaphorically, they were really neat), the paperwork was filled out and they informed me that they would be under the deposit I made.  I tipped them (because adults know when they should), and wished them well in their travels. I returned home a couple hours later to a voicemail from Dave, informing me that I would be receiving a credit to my deposit since they finished so quickly.  Honestly, I was really impressed with how well the crew worked together, the communication, and their attention to detail.  I never want to move another person or myself ever again, but if I do, I'm calling The Moving Doctors. read more

I'll sum this review up very quickly for you: terrible, rude and don't bother hiring this middleman moving company. Want to know more then read on: If there's ever anything I can't stand more than Yelping a one-star rating it's moving, so this review strikes two terrible chords at once. When we called to schedule a moving date we needed to do so weeks in advance (even still we didn't get the date we requested). We told him we needed their biggest truck, and the guy said he needed for us to tell them how many boxes we were moving. Boxes? We had no idea because we weren't even close to being packed at the time but we took a stab at it, told the guy what large items we had (washer dryer, bedroom sets, etc.) and got our quote. As the moving day closed in we called and attempted to up our box amount once we had packed and when we did we were told, "That should still be fine". Ok, apparently fine means something different to The Moving Doctors. First of all, when the movers showed up in a Moving Doctors' truck, we were shocked to find that they were a different company's movers and not The Moving Doctors. This was never mentioned to us. We found out that the Moving Doctors' movers had all left the company for reasons unknown, and the Moving Doctors were outsourcing their moving jobs to another moving company. Let me make sure you heard me: THE MOVING DOCTORS WERE OUTSOURCING THEIR MOVING JOBS TO ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY. In other words, why would you as the consumer bother paying The Moving Doctors to take their cut off the top and hire another company to move you? It took the non-Moving Doctors' movers so long to pack our truck because they needed to pack it so tightly (they brought too small a truck for our needs, which was supposed to be "fine"). In the end we wound up paying DOUBLE our estimate. When we called the guy to ask why it was so much over when we told him how much we needed to move his response was that it was our "fault" for not giving him the most accurate box count to begin with. You can do all kinds of stupid things with your money. You could walk in a casino and put your life's savings on black, acquire an-out-of-control-methamphetamine addiction, replace your entire DVD/Blu Ray library to VHS video cassettes tapes because hey, that technology isn't going to go anywhere, convert your home's heat & energy source exclusively to reptilian oil extracted from the skins of endangered loggerhead sea turtles or you can hire the Moving Doctors to pay another company to move your stuff. I wouldn't choose any of these stupid options if I were you. read more

I am copying my review from Google because it is the same experience. I have never been so completely satisfied with a service. Three young men came to move us with a large truck. We had most of our house to move minus one bedroom. The three guys introduced themselves and shook our hands. They completed our move in less than 2 hours (we weren't moving far, but this was still a fraction of the time that we expected). The guys were very respectful, mindful of our furniture and of our walls. We chatted with them a bit while they were bringing things in to the new house and it was very apparent how much they enjoy their jobs and working for their boss. I would not only recommend this business, but I would definitely hire them again. read more

Moved some-time ago, initially seemed like it would be a decent enough transaction, as moving goes. Movers were nice, worked at a good clip, bit of a miscommunication with loading up the garage and time worked, but eventually those issues were a ironed out. After organizing the house we noticed some items had gone missing. All we wanted to ask was if anything had been left on the truck on accident. Both my wife and I have called dozens of times over the course of several months to have this issue cleared up, not so much as a phone call back. The man we were able to get ahold of during and shortly after the move didn't seem too fond of repeat phone calls as conversations became increasingly short, until the calls went completely unanswered. At this point given how long ago the move was there is almost no point in continuing to call, which is why this review is being left. Frustrating and ridiculous, considering what we paid that all this could have easily been avoided with a quick phone call. read more

Our daughter has used the Moving Doctors for two moves over the last ten years and we recently hired them to move us. Cannot say enough about the courtesy, professionalism, promptness, and care these people showed us during each move. They have always been terrific. During our most recent move, we did schedule our move two months in advance (buying a new home so had some time to plan). At the time of scheduling, we were asked to review the items in each room, basement, garage, and patio as well as estimate the number of boxes we would be moving. Because we had so many items, we needed two trucks or two trips between houses. Mike suggested several options and gave cost estimates for each. We chose to move our belongings over two days using one truck each day. Having gone through a similar move just two years ago, we were not surprised by the cost-estimating procedure as it is the same that other professional movers used for that previous move. (Even had one estimator go on line to view our recently-sold house in order to get a more accurate estimate!) The only reason we did not use the Moving Doctors for this earlier move is because they don't work outside the Buffalo area. We moved from Illinois. Prior to the move, we had several questions and were able to contact this company and get quick response. Another plus in my book! Moving day finally arrived along with the three-man crew and their big white truck at the scheduled time. The guys quickly assessed the number and size of the items to be moved and began loading. They worked rapidly and efficiently as a team and loaded two floors of furniture and miscellaneous items in about two hours. We then drove to our new house where everything was unloaded and placed in the locations we requested. Nothing was damaged and there was no complaining from the guys about the size, weight, or awkwardness of each item being moved. As the truck was being unloaded, I observed how this three-man crew worked as a team and how they cared for property, not just ours but the items on the truck. As items were removed from the truck, any packing materials such as furniture blankets were immediately folded and placed in a particular location on the truck. Neatness was a priority This is not something I observed with the moving crews hired from another company for our move two years ago. The second day of moving went just as smoothly as the first and we were enjoying lunch in our new home with all our belongings on our new property. Thanks to the Moving Doctors! One last thing. Because we were able to move many of our smaller items that would normally have been boxed for the professionals, we saved nearly half of the estimated moving costs. A win for us! read more

Sometimes life throws you a lemon like a not-so-ideal roommate situation or an inheritance of a downtrodden mini pony farm. To protect the over reactive, I wont say which one was the situation that prompted a move. So 7 months after relocating to Buffalo, I found myself calling up Doctor Mike a second time to move yet again. Both moves went great. The movers came early for one move and on time for another. Its their standard practice to send out 3 movers. Yes, the rates here are higher than some of the other reputable companies and they are certainly higher than the most of backdoor ones on CL. However they WILL show up on time and move your stuff efficiently and without issue. Go ahead try your luck elsewhere but these guys are legitmately insured. Some of the people I spoke to on CL for quotes weren't insured outside of their moving vehicle. I may not have been the woman that infamously burned her crotch with scalding hot McDonald's coffee (hence necessitating the obvious "hot coffee" caution on their cups) but I certainly don't plan on finding out what landmark case I could end up in if I didn't use insured movers and some freak accident involving an poorly packed box of Beanie Babies occurred. Besides I like having peace of mind that my stuff will be replaced if it was damaged during the move by the movers. You are requested to pay in cash at the end of the move. read more

He talked me through the inventory and he gave me an estimate over the phone. He scheduled 3 people and a big truck for the job. The guys were on-time, hard-working, careful, and friendly. The price matched the estimate, which I thought was fair and reasonable. Having had very mixed experiences with movers in the past, I know it's not easy to find a good one. We used this company back in November to move into a house we had just bought. They were on time and very efficient, actually finishing before they had expected to. I used this company 3 times in the past and I was very satisfied. I recommend them to my sister, and what a bad experience she had. When she called on the phone, the girl who answered the phone was very rude. She sounded as if she didn't have time to take a message. She was rushing my sister off the phone. Three days later, someone finally returned my sister's phone call to schedule an appointment. When they came to the house they got upset at my sister because she failed to mentioned that she had an exra few boxes that weren't counted for when they did the assessment over the phone. The day of the move they told my sister that the movers were very tired because it was the end of the day and that because they weren't counting with the few extra boxes the move was going to take a lot longer. It took 3 men, 3 hours to load up one king size bed, with a dresser and 2 night stand. A bunk bed, a dining room table with 4 chairs, 2 small sofas, a recliner and 5 boxes. It took them 41/2 to unload everything not counting traveling time. Only one man was assembling the bed, while the other two where bringing up one drawer at the time and hanging out in the truck. They couldn't take apart some parts of the bunk bed because they didn't have a drill( Never heard of a moving company not having a drill). They claimed that they couldn't bring up one of the sofas, so they tried and tried for hours( definitely milking the cow). They were able to fit it through the door after my sister showed them a picture of the apartment with a bigger sofa. They charged my sister $700. They were very dishonest. The one star was for speed, as they moved my apartment in 3 hours. The crew worked well, but during the move my t.v. stand was broken. I contacted the manager and left a message. My call was not returned so I called again the next day and he replied that he had received my message and didn't call back because it was being taken care of. He then told me don't call back, if I don't call you then I ordered your stans. He was very rude and disrespectful, I would not recommend this service to anyone. read more

I had a number of things that should have gone on a cart to move quickly - but these guys moved one box at a time and it seemed like they took a break in between each trip. I contacted the Moving Doctors to move my mom from the 2nd story apartment in North Buffalo to a one floor ranch. They asked permission to play their music while they moved and told me that they can turn it off or down at any time. They were careful with everything, nothing was damaged or broken. When we called them, they asked us to walk each room with them and took notes of how much was moving in each room. We forgot to mention the washer and dryer in the basement. They took it anyway but had trouble taking it up the stairs since the basement door area was remodeled so the doorway was now too small. they told me that they can take off the door frame and put it back on (which they did) that only slowed them down by 15 minutes so the estimate they gave us was very close to what we paid. They put the furniture in the rooms and asked my 80 yr old mother if she was happy with it. She had them move her bedroom in various configurations and they were very polite and accommodating. My mom sent them a thank you note and the owner called her to thank her for the note and asked how she was doing in her new place. We liked them very much. read more

BAD, BAD, BAD! This is my 2nd time using The Moving Doctors - no issues the first time, but experience this time as really bad. They broke my dresser and it fell in the middle of the living room on my hardwood floors. How could it not do damage??? The Moving Doctor will take NO responsibility for the damage to my hardwood floors or the way things were thrown in the house recklessly, NOR did he offer any refund. Mike took a dresser drawer that they broke to see if he could match it. One of the 3 guys was very nasty with me. I will not recommend this service to anybody. Extremely unprofessional. This company is great if you're in the buffalo city area and need to hop apartments! It's a cooperative effort, I sent them an email/itemized list of everything I needed to move, specifics about the addresses, as well as photos to help them understand the details of the job. The owner of the company called me back in 2 days with a full quote and a list of available dates. The rates were very affordable, much cheaper than all the other quotes I got from other companies. On moving day the crew showed up exactly on time and were very professional. In fact they were over prepared for the job! I had all my belongings wrapped up and ready to go, so it only took them a half hour to clear out the entire apartment! They wasted no time and were very friendly and easy to talk to. They were equally as efficient unloading everything at my new apartment and didn't damage or scratch anything. The whole move took them less than 2 hours and you're insured for up to 2500$ during the process. I can't recommend these guys more. Remember, it pays to be prepared - the more time you spend boxing your belongings, the less time they need to spend on your dollar! Great company, I will use them again in the future. read more

They were supposed to arrive between 12 and 2 and at 1 I got a call telling me they were on their way from Orchard Park so it would be about a hour. Once there I explained the bathroom door had to be shut due to our cats being in there and I didn't want them to run away, no problems with that. These guys arrived and got RIGHT to work. All of our furniture, as well as a few various bins and stuff like our grill took them a hour and 45 minutes to load as well as unload it and place it where i wanted it in the new place (and i can be a tad nit picky). Plus they took apart and reassembled our bed. Everything arrived in one piece and the guys were really nice. The quote ended up being five minutes over how long they actually took (I figured it was going to be at least 30 minutes more!)! I also loved that they are insured and bill in 5 minutes increments. i would recommend them to anyone read more
