I rented storage unit and it had mice infestation. I called numerous times and they agreed they would credit me the following month for free rent and switch me units. Come the 7th day of the following month out of nowhere they padlock my storage unit and deny me access to property. They hadn't said a single words of warning they backed out of their deal to cover my rent that month. My car keys were locked in unit. I explained I had 5 kids including a new born and I need access to unit for car keys as well as Sunday is a huge day for me for work. 5 kids aren't cheap I needed my vehicle. They said sorry the best they could do was if I pay full month rent for mice infested unit, the following month they would give me a credit. Yeah heard that before right? So they refuse to give me access to unit because they didn't process the month credit they promised me. The person I talked to at the call center said they would move to help but every single call I made to them was dealing wirh local office. Imagine my surprise when 10 minutes later local office s told me they love to help but every single call I had with them was with the call center so there's nothin they could do. I asked for a district manager they told me the district manager is on vacation but his fill in doesn't work weekends so I probably wouldn't get a call. Here I am father of 5 working 7 days a week and their district manager couldn't work for a few minutes to resolve this issue so I can work 12 hours on a Sunday. Never received a call from either district manager. This is not a problem with just this location. The 10 people I dealt with about this every single one from refused responsibility and pointed the finger at someone else in the company. From local office all the way up in this company all suffer from lack of accountability. Not one person owned my issue and took the 10 minutes to fix my problem. They all blamed someone else and left me holding the bag with no vehicle or any of the things I need to work. I lost close to $1000 in just the first day because no one will fix this issue and no one cares. read more

Don't use Public Storage in Willowbrook. I never took possession of unit 1097 on June 1 and the location manager Tim, has not refunded my money charged to my credit card. He also sent an email dated 6/6/2021 showing vacating on this date. I NEVER TOOK POSSESSION. The guy clearly didnt want to deal with a refund on 6/1/2021. I made a reservation over the phone. The agent asked me when I would be on site to sign the papers and get the key, etc. I said I would be there in 20 minutes and he said great. I showed up exactly 20 minutes later as promised but no one was there. I waited 10 minutes and I called the 800 number again. This agent for some reason utterly refused to try to contact the site manager. I hung up, tried again, and the second time I got someone who was willing to try to call the manager but was unable to reach them. I waited another 20 minutes before finally the site manager showed up. The first thing she asked me was: "You actually want to rent a unit now?" (as if I was crazy to do so). I said "Yes, I have a reservation" The next thing she asked me was: "Why don't you try (another storage facility nearby)?". Needless to say I was somewhat stunned. I rented the unit anyway because I was in a hurry -- she had already made me late for my next appointment and I couldn't afford to be any later. She was obviously not in a good mood and was pretty rude throughout the whole process. I will be cancelling and moving to the other facility nearby that she recommended as soon as possible. I can *maybe* understand one individual having a bad day. But 2 out of 4 is not a good sign. read more

Watch out! Public storage will offer you a fair rate initially and then after 6 months they will double your monthly rate with just 30 days notice. They know most people will not want to move their belongings again after 180 days of use so unfortunately most people just eat it. They should be regulated. As for me I'm filing complaints with any government agency that will listen. These people are sick. And here's more bad news. It isn't just Public Storage. CubeSmart and Life Storage are the same. Do not do business with these people. I was forced to purchase insurance from Public Storage even though I could provide proof of insurance through the renter's insurance on my apartment. I was forced to purchase their lock which only fits their storage unit and cannot be reused. This past winter had a lot of snow. When the snow was plowed, it was piled on top of the storm drain. As the snow started to melt in the spring, the storm drain became clogged with ice causing the building with my indoor storage unit to flood. Management informed me of the situation and scheduled an inspection of my unit. The flood was caused by negligence and could have been avoided. My unit had indeed flooded and there was mold growing on my belongings. I was informed that anything with mold would not be allowed back into the unit. One of the moldy items was a toy box that my now deceased grandfather built as a gift for my first birthday. There was no way I was going to throw it away. The unit was cleaned and movers were going to move my belongings back into the unit while it was still wet. When I insisted that the unit be allowed to dry first, I was informed that they had used bleach and that it was OK to put everything back. I strongly disagreed and insisted on switching to another unit of the same size. The unit I was given was significantly smaller. When I looked into making an insurance claim for the damaged items, I found out that the deductible was $500. The mold damaged toy box is a family heirloom cannot be replaced. After some research, I felt that the insurance company would not offer a fair settlement so I never filed a claim. I have since found a different storage unit with a different company. The difference is night and day. I will NEVER do business with Public Storage again and have made sure that my friends and family know what happened. Avoid this company. read more

BEWARE!!!! SCAM!!! I just looked at my bank statement and noticed my rent magically jumped 10$ a month! When I called for answers they told me my 6month fake rate was up and they were now allowed to increase my rent any time and for any amount they see fit! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?? Read fine print when signing! I should have just taken the storage unit closer to home for 10$ more when I was originally looking. What a waste of my time! Also BEWARE of sketchy sales practices as they won't mention until you are signing about the hidden fees such as renters insurance and crap like that! Get your own renters insurance! I looked at no less than ten different sites for my particular storage needs. Most did not have adequate door heights or the storage location was too expensive or not available at all. Even this location did not have what I was looking for at first. I left my name and information with Geneva the manager and about two weeks later I received a call that what I was looking for had opened up. So I jumped on it the same day. I needed to store different items but wanted the locations to be close in proximity. Not on opposite sides of the property. This is what I wanted and this is what I got.
