I had a great experience with this company. I was helped by Steve who was very knowledgeable, helpful, kind and professional! They were very clean units, and extremely affordable if you need it for less than a month! It's only $1 for the first month, plus a $25 initiation fee, plus $20 for a lock, plus $11 for insurance. Kind of a lot of hidden fees. I wan't aware about the lock or insurance. I think they should just offer up a lock or for a small rental fee for just using there locks. The only other downfall is that its freezing and dark in the units. Not the end of the world, just a small downfall. But I do appreciate there conservative attitude. We rented our spaces 5 months ago June 28th, our rents for the spaces have currently gone up 31% for one space and 36% for the second space. According to Public storage the rents can go up every 5 to 6 months. In the city of Chicago, the rent for a $3000.00 apartment doesn't even go up by $150.00 so why is the rent for a 10x30 space being increased by 35%. Where are our state regulators on these storage facilities? Don't rent from any large storage chains or you will find yourself paying as much to store your items as you are for paying rent for an apartment. read more

I had to get a storage unit for a short term period of time and chose this public storage because of the one month free deal and proximity to my home. The 2 months I had the unit were the most frustrating of my life. The staff there insisted that my unit was not locked even though I had gone to the facility several times to check it was locked properly after their first few calls but they would not stop calling about it. One person was also very rude on the phone. When I was finally able to move my stuff out, I followed the instructions for move out in the email. They called me then saying I hadn't moved out by 11:30 when no time had been given to me as to when to move out. I told them then I would be moving my things out at 3 pm, which I did. Then at 5:30 pm they told me I hadn't moved out yet when I informed them I did. They then told me I was supposed to call them once I had moved from the unit which, again, they had not told me I needed to do either via email or over the phone. Dealing with this location has been extremely annoying and I will NOT being going back there if I ever need storage again. read more

this area is a closed gate access only storage and should be available 24 hours. I would not advise anyone to store here as they have unreasonable access hours now and some work during those hours, the access is feom 6am-9pm most workers start at 5 am and without accessibility it won't even let get in contact with the property manager. read more

I was a customer here for 3 years. The staff at this location were always amicable. My complaint is in the constant rate increases, unannounced and at variable percentage increases. I went from renting the 10x10 for $65 dollars a month, including insurance. This was an introductory rate. By the time I was to move out my monthly rent was $147. More than doubled in 3 years. I was paying less than this monthly, for the same amount space and time frame at a Safeguard Storage in Chicago, that was climate controlled. Make sure to move out at the end of the month, because there is no pro-rating. I highly recommend reading the fine print!! Better yet, take your business elsewhere. read more

The price is great, but definitely a misunderstanding with the front desk girl Melissa. My fiancé and I always do quick pay with chase and automatically have bills taken out of our accounts. So public storage calls me on Thursday to tell me the payment will be due on Sunday. So I didn't hesitate and said ok. And that was it. So Monday comes and they call me again. I was working so couldn't answer. So I call them back right when I go on break. They didn't answer. Didn't leave a voicemail or anything. Didn't think it was a big deal. Because I called them back 3 times and no one answered. So the next day I check my account and they did not take the money out. I work across the street from the storage unit so I figured I'll go pay it on Wednesday. So I go talk to the girl and I guess I was never on automatic payment and they broke into my unit because it had not played it yet. The amount was due on Sunday so it only read more

Steve was very helpful in helping me find a second storage. Steve always checks up on me to see if I need any help. I have been a customer for 10 years in which I needed to use for my books. All my books are in great shape despite being in a storage unit for 10 years. I have 2 units now, but the real reason I chose these unit instead of the Willowbrook unit is the location. read more

I reserved and paid for storage unit via there website and read everything and did read that I needed to supply my own lock. I showed up with lock, signed more papers, and was told I could not use my own lock but had to purchase lock from them for 17.99 plus tax. I seen same lock at store for 12.99. not nice. read more

The workers are great here I feel bad that their treated like slaves from corporate. There have been multiple break ins & the gate is broken no security cameras no lights at night. corporate doesn't care about their customers either they just want money raise the rent every 6 months and do nothing for the customers. Stay away!!! I was warned by another gentleman when we were moving in that they will continuous increase your rate, I didn't think much because when I signed the contract, I asked if the rate was locked in and I was told YES FOR ONE YEAR. Six mo th later my rate jumped up $25 more dollars. They get you in with a low rate, know you are there then take advantage of you. I do t appreciate being lied to and if I can save someone else the expense, I hope I can because what they do to people is disrespectful and inconsiderate and a horrible business practice.
