They didn't have Debbie cakes apple pies. A good publix has it all. That's what makes publix such a great location to shop.

This is our usual grocery spot, and for good reason. I'm really quite picky about fresh produce and it seems that no Kroger or Walmart can get fresh produce. There are a few other Publix stores nearby, but this is still the freshest. Aside from great quality, the staff here are amazing. They begin to recognize you and make you feel very welcomed every time you come. They are knowledgable in locations of food and pairing recommendations, too. Easy parking, and you can typically get a spot right up front. This store is a slightly smaller store, but they have everything we need them for. Ordering a sub isn't like ordering from a fast food restaurant. I can't check the bag before I pull off to make sure everything is good... I placed my order online so I could just go in and get out. Because you have to pick a specialty sandwich and can not make one from scratch, I chose the ultimate but said NO ham.... For those who don't know an ultimate is ham, turkey, roast beef. I get home and there WAS ham and NO roast beef... and now Publix is on my I HATE YOU FOR NOT LISTENING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS list. read more

I heart Publix - it beats Kroger any day of the week, but seriously they are not consistent from location to location. The layout of the store is a little odd, but I think that is because this is one of the smaller stores around Atlanta. Plus, some things they just don't always have in stock. However, the people are nice, you can usually find someone to answer questions or reach something on a high shelf. Parking is horrific during peak times. There are too any little shops in this strip, and not enough parking spaces to accomodate. read more

Surrounded by a variety of restaurants and retailers...this Publix can tend to be crowded during high traffic times (lunch, after work), but it's always clean, fully stocked and a great shopping experience. This used to be my go to grocery store when I lived in Dunwoody, but now I find myself stopping in when I'm obviously in the neighborhood, needing something in a pinch. For example...I picked up a small birthday cake for my boyfriend yesterday and from the second I decided on which one...the attendant in the bakery assisted me in writing on it. Talk about quick and easy. Bonus - there's a Suntrust branch inside this location. Very convenient for a Suntrust customer, such as myself. Very friendly staff and great hours. Stopped by this Publix to get some flowers for a friend who recently had a baby at Northside Hospital and to get a snack for myself. This is a cute little Publix. I'm use to the bigger ones and was a bit surprised it's a compact version of a normal Publix. I expected to have problems finding flowers I wanted, since their floral section is smaller than normal. I did have less to choose from but was able to get something I liked. Their balloon selection was sucky though. Every employee I came across was friendly and helpful. This Publix always have fresh fruit for me to purchase when I'm on call and staying in the hotel next door. I've visited their deli for cupcakes and have even partaken in the fresh pizza they make to order. It's never a disappointment and I can always find great tasting hot meals when I'm on the go. read more

Great place to shop food and produce is really good prices are good and the people are very friendly I shop here every time I am in Atlanta. I come in once a month for a week and always buy my groceries here. There deli counter is good too if you want something ready made. Highly recommend this store. read more

By far this is the slowest and most unfriendly Publix Pharmacy I have met. They promise the delivery of a prescription at one time and care less about not delivering one time. They only have a few prescriptions but seem not to be able to handle the volume. They definitely need to retrain the staff or replace them. The Pharmacy Techs are the worst i have com across. read more

I've never been into a Publix I hated until I visited this location off Hammond Drive. The employees are rude. Every visit I've had hasn't been a pleasant one. When everyone thinks of Publix they think of great customer service, right? Well this location really lacks that. I live within walking distance and avoid this place at all costs. There's another Publix a few miles away and I'd prefer making the longer trip than to go right into my back yard which is saying a lot. read more

Don't order a special or normal occasion cake here and expect it to be done correctly or even get the service you deserve for when they mess up. I placed a special order for a basic quarter sheet cake for a special coworkers baby shower a week prior. Due to time restraints I wasn't able to grab the cake myself on pick up day so a fellow team member went. I didn't get to see the cake until minutes before the surprised baby shower and I was mortified at the cake. The writing was mix match in color, sloppy, and it started half way down the cake so she ran out of room! That wasn't even the worst part. The cake wasn't properly made. I REQUESTED Vanilla Buttercream Icing and Marble insides! The cake was half butter cream half whipped on top. I'm so confused it's funny. Why would a basic cake be made this way. And the taste was Severely disappointing. Immediately following the shower I call the bakery and ask what is the process of a properly made buttercream cake, I was then informed that a buttercream cake is made with the butter cream on top on the sides and throughout. I've then explained to the woman that answered the phone that that was not how my cake was made. She then goes to say "Well that's weird I don't understand why it was made that way." I even offered to bring a slice directly to her for evidence or justification of my claim. After negotiating she then later offers to only compensate me for half of the cake, mind you the cake was only $26. I referenced how the entire cake was wrong and why was I only being compensated for half. She then explained that she needs to speak to the general manager because she's only the assistant manager. I've then patiently asked to be placed on hold so she can have that conversation. She then coincidentally says "he's out to lunch and won't be back until the next 45 minutes." I did not believe this to be true. After our call completed I immediately hung up and called the store manager myself and was connected to him within 2 to 5 minutes. I've explained that I spoke to the woman that is the assistant manager of the bakery and he pauses and says "I'm unsure whom you spoke to, I do not have a woman that is an assistant manager for my bakery." So then I explain this is Lie number two. My cake was wrong, I was only half compensated, and now I was lied too about who I was speaking to. The manager sympathized and immediately offered me my full compensation. Mind you my story is not over yet. As soon as I left work immediately went to the Publix location to get my compensation. As I approach customer service the representative was very nice as I handed her the receipt and explained that Spoke to John the general store manager and was advised to reference our previous conversation. To my surprise John , the General store manager was having a conversation with another customer to my right. As the representative cashed me out he looked me in my face and did not say a word! Not even a single apology for what happened to me. I would've thought a face-to-face apology would've been in order however my cries and frustration was overlooked as a customer even by the lead of the store. I have never had this type of service at Publix as I will never be a customer at this location again. I can't believe this day! read more

Publix has always been a store where i always could fine something that the supermarkets did not have like my Sabrett hot dogs and onion sauce a New York City favorite. A clean store where you don't find messy shelves or sticky floors down the asles and the bakery is is to die for!. Great pie selections and the deli has pretty cool items too. check your local Publix for some of the yummy salads like the chef salad with great portions of meat and cheese with all the good toppings that are great with this type of salad. Overall Publix has some unique item and great deli and bakery price are maybe 4% higher than say Walmart so if you have any coupons or discounts online use them to get the best deal possible. read more

Sooo, while I love Publix as a whole, there are a few reasons why this one is only given a 3 star rating, instead of the customary 4 or 5 star rating. PROS: - Amazing deli. Delicious everywhere I've been. I've had the chicken here, the sandwiches, and the potato wedges. The Bakery is also a treat to work with. This is the closest Publix to my job, so I've come here a few times to order sweet treats for someone's birthday. - Fairly clean environment, for such a small store. - Plenty of employees working the registers, especially if you've got less than 10 items you need to purchase. CONS: - Parking is shit. There's no other way to put it. The parking lanes are narrow to the point where if a truck is turning into a lane, and my Honda Fit car is trying to exit said lane, the truck actually has to back out in order for me to leave. I suppose they did this because this is a happening spot and they want to cram as many people as possible here, what with the Arby's and the Credit Union sharing the same lot, but I've rarely ever come here and been able to park immediately. I've no doubt in my mind that there will be days when this lot is 100% full. They really need to expand this lot, and the size of the parking spots. I think they would benefit from customer sanctification, as well as gaining more business because people can actually park. Because the spots are small and people are asshole drivers, I've seen a single truck or minivan take up two spots. - The Publix itself is soooo small. They utilize their space pretty well, but it's clear this place was originally one of those Publixes without a deli or bakery because space didn't permit. But since it's at such a crucial part, I imagine they expanded because they knew they could make even more money money. THE VERDICT: You might not find a place to park, which in itself could take away a star from someone who was in a hurry. I wouldn't recommend coming here for anyone that IS in a hurry. The staff is courteous, the food in the bakery and deli are fresh, but the store itself is narrow and considerably smaller than a majority of the Publix grocery stores I've been to. read more

Publix is like the go to grocery store here in Georgia and when I lived in Atlanta I used them very often! I was staying in the Dunwoody area right across from the perimeter mall. I hoped on Yelp to check and see where the nearest grocery store was and saw that this one was the closest! In a shopping center you can find other food options as well. Store was clean and service was fast even though there were only two cashiers that night! I needed my wine so I really didn't care about how long the line was or how long I had to wait. One it was my turn to be rung up I got a very nice cashier and thanked for the business! Great job publix! read more

I love most all Publix. This one here on Hammond has one of the best deli stations. Coworkers got sandwiches and wraps and I got the fried chicken wings with fries. Everything is good as is evident by the lines leading to the chicken and sandwich stations. I swear, at first glance, I thought they must be giving the goods away for free; there so many people in line. And there is no where to park. This is a really busy shopping center at lunch. Don't let that deter you. Call your sandwich order in ahead of time or stand strong and bear the line for their excellent chicken! read more

I've gone to this Publix many times over the years and never really had any complaints until 2 weeks ago when I stopped in to grab a sandwich for lunch. The positive here is their deli sandwiches are Delish, the negative is that my last experience left me TRULY DISGUSTED by the action of one of the managers. So....I ordered a sandwich with roast beef and the jerk turkey which I've done before and had no issues. The nice gentleman who was making my sandwich seemed to be ok with my request, but that's when a female manager walks up and tells him he can't mix Publix and Boards Head meats. I told her it was ok that I would gladly pay the difference and she repeats herself and says you can't mix them. She then instructs the gentleman to take the B's Head meat off the sandwich. I'm watching in somewhat disbelief wondering ok, then she makes him throw it in the trash. I immediately became LIVID!!! I said "Excuse me, but are you kidding me?" I said you mean to tell me that you would rather throw it in the trash than make a small profit by charging me the difference? and she says it again.. Maim you can't mix the meats. This is by far the best grocery store I have ever been to. The aisle are not cluttered, and the shelves are always stocked and neat. They also have a great selection of cakes and food that are made in-house. For every birthday my family always gets a Publix cake. There wings are also pretty delicious themselves. They also have a deli, which I have not tried out, but it looks wonderful like everything else. One of the things I like most about this store is the cashiers don't seem to hate their job, unlike most other stores. Every time I checkout the cashier appears happy and comments on and item I bought. Although these comments may be required and sometimes may not sound genuine, it is refreshing. My only gripe about Publix in general, is prices can sometimes be expensive when compared to other grocery stores, but for me its not enough to deter me from going here. Overall : This is a great store, with a well mannered staff, and an array of wonderful in-house products made on sight. read more

I am a frequent customer of Publix back in my home of Dothan, Alabama, and when I work in Atlanta I often use Publix store 647 to purchase food items for dinner each night. Tonight was no exception. I patiently waited in line for almost 10 minutes (only 3 lanes were open during this busy time) and was next in line when the cashier said "I'm moving to Lane 3" and proceeded to leave me, my items, and several customers behind me standing there with no opportunity to check out. We were all in complete disbelief and stared at one another as if asking "did that really just happen?". One of the two black male Publix employees yelled several lanes over to me - and the others behind me - to come to get in line at lane 3 which was already filled with customers. We said "again"!?! No thanks! I quietly left all my items at the check-out and will NEVER use this Publix again. I'm also dropping negative ratings on Yelp and Google as well. Whole Foods down the street was amazing, well-stocked, and made a new customer tonight. read more

Design of most of the publix stores is same and standard. You get good quality groceries here prices of which are much higher than the other major grocery chains. The variety of frozen section lays more emphasis on healthier options. They have a good collection of cakes which are made fresh. Store has a cafe section which serves, subs, soups and chicken wings. The store is clean and looks hygienic and staff is courteous. read more

Publix Rocks!! I work at the new Hair Salon upstairs @Salon Bella Dama and I love it here! There is a nail salon right next door and tons of options for lunch, but I always get the best service and the most delicious cold subs and soup at Publix. Try the Boar's head turkey meat! Yummm. Once again waiting in a long line as the express lane is closed. Honestly it is the worst managed publix ive ever been in. They consistently fail to have an express line open and the line for the walk up counter gets very very long with lottery freaks. I end up waiting in line for ten minutes to buy a single item. Was recommend this fine establishment by Pub Sub guru Alexa. Had the Boar's Head (congrats on 25 years of partnership, btw) maple turkey sub with cheddar, LIGHT mayo, olive oil, spicy mustard, banana peppers, green peppers, lettuce, and pickles, all on whole wheat bread. Sub was kept warm and toasty in pick-up kiosk, far away from any necessary social interaction, just how I like it. Grabbed a drink and some chips while dodging more humans. Was in and out in 5 minutes. The sandwich itself was just as amazing as Alexa foretold. The sweetness of the maple turkey was matched by the sweetness of the bread, and balanced by the spice and tang of the banana peppers and mustard, respectively. Pro tip from Alexa: order a whole sub, even if you think you can't finish it. Because you CAN finish it. If you really believe in yourself. And if you can't do it in one sitting, take out the peppers and pickles and store them in a plastic baggy for when you return. This keeps the bread from getting sloppy. Why is America wasting its time with Subway? Remember Jared? Pub Subs aren't sold by Jareds. They're wholesome. They have been in partnership with Boar's Head for 25 whole years (congrats again, truly). Had to take away a star because they wedged the olive oil packet out of sight in the paper wrapping, so I mistakenly got mad at Publix for not having olive oil to dip the sandwich into (another pro tip from Alexa), but then I found it, and my Catholic guilt kicked in. Taking away that star was less due to hiding the olive oil packet and more due to the triggering of said Catholic guilt. This rating is specific to the Deli. Is is consistently, hands-down the most frustrating experience to try to get a sandwich made at this Publix during lunch. The example a few paragraphs down is just ONE example, that happened to be today, and finally enough to make me write a review, which I'll also send to Publix corporate. This is probably somewhere in the neighborhood of my 30th trip to this specific Publix for a deli sub at lunch over the past year, and this is a very consistent experience, not an anomaly. I am not an impatient person by nature. I understand a line and wait is to be expected during lunch, but after being frustrated numerous times, I wanted to be sure I wasn't being unreasonable, so I started timing how long it takes each time I go, starting from when I reach the end of the line, until I am handed my sandwich. With an average of about 10 people in line, the wait hovered around 18 minutes. I have a decent base for comparison as well, as I used to go to the Publix in Midtown for lunch a couple times a week at my former job. There was consistently a line of at LEAST 15 people at lunch, and I can't think of a single time I waited more than 10 minutes, most times under 5. What makes it worse, is the attitude of the people working here. They just do_not_care, and do not try to hide it. Just today, there were 2 people making sandwiches, 8-10 people in line, I was 4th in line, and seriously 7 other Deli employees doing what appear to be menial tasks that could easily be done after the lunch rush was over. The lady a couple spots in front of me ordered a turkey sandwich, they were out of turkey, so the lady had to go slice some. No problem, I thought. This is when it got really bad, and these numbers are not exaggerated: She walked sloooooooooowly over to the meat slicer, almost 30 seconds to waddle 10 feet, while talking to one of the employees at the counter on the back wall. Apparently she wanted to clean the slicer, so she started spraying cleaning solution, kept talking, non-nonchalantly, sprayed it down from every angle, had to have been at least 30 sprays. Then, took _6_ minutes to wipe this slicer down. At this point, everybody is getting irritated in line, so I know it's not me. The lady who ordered the sandwich asked who the manager was, who happened to be the guy talking to the lady slicing the meat. He came over and asked what the problem is, completely unaware of what is going on. He went to talk to the lady slicing the lady, who found somebody else to carry on a conversation with, and miraculously had the meat sliced and back to the counter within 20 seconds, at which point she made some offhand comment about how nobody cleans the slicer, like we were going to take her side. At that point, 4 people left the line and walked out of the store, including a co-worker and I. There were 2 more people over the 20 minutes we were standing there (did I mention there were only 3 people in front of me?). The most frustrating thing is the non-chalant attitude. I had stopped coming here regularly for lunch because of this, but a coworker asked me to go with her today. Blows my mind that they haven't skipped a beat with the same ol, same ol. Not sure how these people still have jobs but obviously management isn't paying attention or simply does not care. read more
