We came here because it's one of the rare locations that sells Jeni's Cookies & Cream flavor by the pint. It was a bit far from where we live, but the market was cute and the experience was enjoyable, a little adventure on a nice weekend. We arrived when the indoor cafeteria was close to closing, so we ate first before walking around the market. We had a burger with tater tots and a chicken sandwich, both were good quality. The market is small but offers a good variety of products. I went straight for my goal, the Jeni's Cookies & Cream pint, and also picked up a nice haul of mini pints. It's a great market. We'll definitely visit again if we're in the area or need to restock on ice cream. read more

My partner and I were impressed by the Freedom Farmer's Market, so we decided to check out the Grant Park one during my most recent Atlanta trip. The Grant Park location has more to offer in terms of produce and prepared food, but I think the ambiance of the FFM is nicer (you're covered by a bunch of trees). There were a lot of delicious-looking stands serving Moroccan food, Cuban sandwiches, etc., but we had just eaten brunch and were stuffed. We left with a bottle of cherry kombucha from Witchy Kombvchy, a local kombucha brewer. They had a lot of unique flavors like jalapeno lemonade, elderflower, etc., and were happy to let us sample. A true gem in the neighborhood! It's definitely a "if you know, you know" spot, because you can easily drive right past it. Think a high end bodega, if youre from NYC. There are carefully selected grocery, wine (amazing), and beer selections that you will not find most grocery stores. Now the food. By far some of the most perfectly cooked dishes i've had in a fast casual restaurant. The "Good AF" fried chicken sandwich is by far the best chicken (fried) sandwich i have ever tasted. Perfectly cooked, tender, and the good af sauce (tastes like tobasco + honey) just sends it over the top! A must visit if you are in the area and have time for a bite. Super cute market located on Memorial Drive that shares a building with the local Ace Hardware. I happened to be swinging by said Ace and after I figured I would pop in to see what they had going on, so I wandered around this spot for a few minutes before heading back out! Given their location, you would assume parking would be terrible, however there is quite a bit of parking with an open lot, small garage and plenty of street parking...and if all that fails you, then pop over to the paid lot behind Six Feet Under. When you walk in you are greeted by a quaint fresh veggie and fruit section, that also has a cooler with some premade meals such as sandwiches, pastas, salads, etc...On the other side of this section is a large shelf that showcases all the locally sourced items including jams, jellies, sauces, nuts, snacks and more. While I didn't snatch anything up on this trip, those sauces will definitely be calling me back at some point! In addition to the above sections, this market features quite a selection of dry/non-perishable goods including specialty items of the gluten/carb/allergen free variety. You can find all things from soups, spices chips, snacks, pasta, cereals, etc...they feature big box brands, as well as other more specialized brands. They also have a small frozen section, as well as dairy cooler. The rest of the place is made up of all things to drink with an impressive selection of wine and beer...both in the coolers and on the floor. Outside of the products themselves, they also feature a restaurant called Gather. Due to current state of things, it was not operating at the time and was being used for a prep/stocking area during my visit. I will say that I enjoyed my time exploring the market, but was a little sad that I passed by multiple members of the team and not one acknowledged or spoke to me. It was a little odd and disappointing given the local flare of the place. Overall, I wouldn't center my full shopping trips around this place, but I could see swinging by when in the area for something specialty, a good bottle of wine or a treat. While the lack of service left something to be desired, it wasn't enough to keep me away...so I will be back! read more

I'm moving away so I can be honest: it will be a great joy to move away from these exploitative and inflated, self-righteous lackeys LARPing as food hippies. If you're integrating into the neighborhood, don't hassle someone barefoot for two minutes. This neighborhood has characters and people don't like an arbitrary flex. Tap on a sign, tell me it's policy - you'd be right and STILL not vibe with Grant Park. You'd be correct and YET now have lost business over a picadillo. It's expensive and they will talk down to you. Stay on Memorial and drive up to Publix, it's at the corner with Billy Kennedy Way SE. Today for lunch, my work picked up from Grant Park Market. On this grey, rainy day, I wanted a comfort staple meal to brighten up my afternoon. I decided to go with the Grilled Cheese (+ I asked for them to add caramelized onions and avocado) & a cup of the soup of the day: tomato soup. First of all, the grilled cheese was SO good. The cheese was super melty and creamy, the caramelized onions were perfect, and the avocado was a great addition, if I do say so myself. The tomato soup was equally as yummy--so flavorful! I loved this simple yet delicious meal. It's truly the perfect pairing. I definitely want to try more of their foods ASAP! Great lunch spot. read more

As a market, this place is fine. The market has a large selection of stuff you may be craving when you don't want to go to a big grocer. The people working here are great. They're all friendly. But this review is for the quality of the food items purchased and made to order inside, the experience with getting the food, and the wait times for that food. My fiancee and I stopped in for a coffee and some avocado toast today. We got there at 10:40am and ordered. We got a cold brew, a hot coffee, and two orders of avocado toast on sourdough - one of which would have fried egg on it. The staff was friendly, which was nice. The drinks were ready immediately and the worker said she'd call my name when the food was ready. I took the drinks out to my +1 and came back in to wait for the food. 10:50, 11:00, 11:10. Finally the food was ready. How these slices of bread with avocado took 40 minutes to prepare is beyond me. You'd think that with that kind of wait time there would be plump amounts of avocado. Nope! A thin spread with no seasoning was all we got. The barebones avocado toast is a $7 order. With egg it's $10. Will I go back? Maybe, if I need something from the market. Will I go back to order food? A convenient little market in Cabbagetown where we shopped for a few ingredients. This is a small market with select produce, prepared and refrigerated items, including wine. There is a take out window and bar seating inside for people to dine (presently closed due to C19). Upon entering people are urged to take a sanitizing wipe and use it before purchasing anything which I thought was fine under the present circumstances. Currently on a red-blend wine streak and enjoyed one from Napa called Sexual Chocolate. read more

Need an outdoor date night? Pop in here to grab some drinks and drunchies for a social distance picnic at Oakland Cemetery or Grant Park. Free parking easy to find and everywhere. This is my favorite little bodega/neighborhood store with everything you need in a pinch - great selection of beers, seltzies, wine, cheese, meats, chips, dips, fresh produce sourced locally, and a kickass restaurant & bar (Gather) attached. A couple of my favorite items purchased here for charcuterie: -Calabrian salami by Spotted Trotter (made in Atlanta) - spicy and amazing -Kentucky Bourbon Bellavitano cheese: soo nutty and delicious They also have locally sourced meat, which we are planning to try soon in an effort to get away from the industrial food chain. Everyone is super friendly and they are stringent about masks/limiting the number of customers in the store (thank god). I love this little market. Since summer hill Is really a food desert, this is an oasis. Ok yes- it is gourmet and the prices reflect this. When I need a few items or something really delicious, I come here. There is also a restaurant attached and the cooked food is really great too, however if you spend more than 50 dollars a gratuity is required (even for takeout) which I am totally against, just raise the prices if your employees don't make enough money, a gratuity is for excellent service when dining in. The cookies are amazing.....get a rooster cookie, you will never ever want any other kind of cookie after that. read more

I was excited to see that the folks from Candler Park Market have finally opened in Grant Park. The neighborhood badly needed a local market where people could go to pick up a quick bite or some quality groceries without dealing with the in&out mess of a Kroger. Can't give this a full review yet because they haven't even officially opened yet and the soft opening includes limited hours and not only partially stocked shelves. However, the signs of a good business are already there and when I went the other day to check it out they had a pretty impressive customer base for the in-house cafe/restaurant. If the prep. foods (and burgers) are anything like Candler Park Market's this will be a new go-to spot for me. I only tried the chicken and kale soup of the day but it was delicious and hearty. Many other items on the menu peaked my interest too. The interior can be best be described as elegant and chic. It's not a huge grocery store but there's plenty of space to carry all the basics and typically their pricing strategy has been pretty affordable. As compared to the other local grocery market Bennett's, they are already doing a better job with produce, one of my high priority items. I'll definitely be back soon to see how the shelves fill-in and if possible to do more of my shopping locally. People are still finding out about this market as I just spoke to someone living a few blocks away who was unaware. Hopefully their name won't confuse people who are so used to thinking of the Grant Park market as the Grant Park farmer's market. read more

This sucks because I really love this market for groceries and drinks. But this review is about the restaurant inside the market. On numerous occasions, my to go order has not been correct. Including today, when the tomatoes I ordered where missing from my bagel, the cream cheese was scant at best, and they chose to use brown avocado that very clearly should not be used on a restaurant order. I'm a long time customer of Candler Park Market, and I wish GPM would hold themselves to the same high bar that CPM does. Every order from CPM has been made with the highest quality ingredients and nothing has ever been missing. I live closer to GPM but honestly, I'd rather drive to CPM for food. I hope you read this and talk with your restaurant staff about the importance of checking to make sure orders look like good quality and aren't missing anything before you hand them over to customers. read more

This is a great neighborhood market! I just recently moved, but I lived right down the street since Grant Park Market opened! It is a small little market with just the right amount of stuff. It reminds me a bit of a big city bodega. There are some fruits in the front, lots of drinks and refrigerated snacks, a small frozen section, a pretty good wine selection and a surprising amount of dry goods. They have some local products, a good selection of coffees and a cute little candy section at the front. I wouldn't exactly plan my weekly shopping trips here, but GPM did come in clutch MANY times when I was missing one random ingredient. read more

Parking is always available, the market itself is the perfect blend of artisan/ organic/ products and the staff is super helpful but not hovering or in your face. My favorite is the tuna melt and the tater tots plain or dressed are amazing!!!!! I wish I could leave zero stars. My sandwich was missing 6 ingredients and the quality of the deli turkey was comparable to hillshite farms $2.99 tub from wal mart. My partner was given a sandwich- no joke- that was just bread and lettuce. When we asked about all the missing ingredients they acted like we were asking for "extra" even though we ordered off the menu... they spoke practically no words and slid us a box with onions and tomato. Not even half of the missing menu items. No apology. So many staff members I think it could be a great idea if they all sat together and reviewed their menu so maybe at least half of the ingredients could make it onto the slices of old bread :) read more

I called at 3:28 to order a sandwich for pick up and was put on hold. Had planned to do my grocery shopping for the week and head home to enjoy my lunch. The guy on the line came back and said the restaurant was closed at 3:30 and I was basically out of luck. I'm in the service industry so I definitely get wanting to be done for the day but this cost a small business not only the price of a ridiculously expensive sandwich but also a few hundred bucks in groceries. Seems absurd to me. The manager basically didn't care one bit. Its really not worth spending the extra money to shop here if they don't care about your business. There is nothing here you can't get at Kroger. It's a cute spot but they don't really care if you spend money there or not. read more

As a fan and a former neighbor to Grant Park Market's mother store, Candler Park Market, I was pleased when I heard they were opening another store right near where I'm living now. So, high expectations. After a few visits, my impression is mostly good. As you might expect, GPM has a much newer look than CPM, which is to the undiscerning eye something of a dive (I say undiscerning because CPM is most definitely not a dive once you pass through their doors). They have a few groceries, staples, a ton of beers, and a deli. GPM's deli is much fancier and larger than at CPM. GPM also has an decent wine selection. Some negatives: - the space seems a bit underutilized in that there just isn't as much stuff per square foot as there could be. So, the selection is limited, particularly mundane items. Unlike CPM, GPM is unlikely to function as well as a neighborhood last-minute Kroger/Publix alternative. - the wine racks (as of last week or so) are unlabeled, so if you're looking for a Chilean cab, good luck searching. Perhaps that will come. - the beer selection, while good, is nowhere near that at CPM. - I didn't experience it but other Yelpers report being asked what gratuity they'd like to add at the deli even when paying cash. Let me add my voice: stop it. Put out a tip jar. My expectations were that GPM would be a newer CPM, and it isn't that. All other things equal, (location, convenience, etc), if I had to choose between the two stores, I'd still prefer Candler Park Market to Grant Park Market. We stopped in for lunch one day after the Grand Opening. Great local market offering a little bit of everything plus a nice wine selection. However the restaurant there was fantastic. I had the Grilled Cesar Salad with Chicken - Grilled escarole with large slices of shaved parm and a unique Cesar dressing that was so yummy I could eat with it with a spoon. Grant Park Market is a grocery store/restaurant that is a part of the new complex development off of Memorial Avenue. It is a great addition to the Grant Park neighborhood as a multi use facility mixing grocery and restaurant. To me there are two sides of Grant Park Market. First the grocery side. I think that Grant Park Market has a great selection of groceries for the size of the market. It is not a huge space, however they have added a lots of options and well known brands and is definitely be a place for you to do some of your shopping. It is not a market I would go to for all of my grocery purchases as it would get expensive and they do not have everything you need. However for a little neighborhood store it does have the essentials if you forget something or need to run and grab something quickly. Second the restaurant side of Grant Park Market. I have been let down quite a few times by the restaurant side and the inconsistency of service and quality of food. There have been a number of times I've gone to Grant Park Market and it seems the staff and kitchen are out of sync. I've waited for long periods for food with few other customers at the restaurant. Each week it seems the quality of food changes depending on which chef is working and I've had a couple of meals that I have thoroughly enjoyed and thoroughly hated. Grant Park Market does put on some great weekly events and tries to spice up the menu with new specials however these also can be hit and miss. I've tried Grant Park Market enough to feel as though I don't know what quality I'm getting when I'm entering the restaurant and that is what hinders me from visiting there more often. The staff at Grant Park Market are usually friendly and kind however I would love if they can make a more consistent product and be considerate of wait times especially during the dinner hour. read more

I love this market. It's only 7 minutes away from Pittsburgh neighborhood! I really love the decor and the layout of this little eatery inside the grocery store in Grant Park. I frequent the Ace Hardware next door and will now run over to this store to grab a bite to eat! I got a sandwich and salad to go, but ended up staying to eat on the benches that are really inviting. The restaurant inside the market is a joke from my experience. The market itself is fine. The cooks weren't wearing hair nets and you can see them cooking, that's problem number one. Next, the blonde cook is on her cell phone most of the time, distracting the other cooks. I ordered the steak and fries, both came out cold. I can only assume that's because the lazy cooks on their cell phones (excluding one Hispanic Male who was working hard) would rather do that than help the two servers out and drop it off for them since they were busy bussing tables and taking orders. I only eat my meat rare, so I ordered my steak medium-rare since I don't know the cooks abilities, which it came out that way despite being cold from sitting. The fries were cold. I let the server know, and they took it back. As soon as he did, I told my girlfriend that I guarantee they'll just heat the steak which will then ruin the rare cook because they don't want to make a new one, and the fries will be the easy replacement. What happened? Exactly that. My steak came back out with the fresh fries nearly well done, which is disgusting. The character and laziness that shows would have you fired at my place of work immediately. Unacceptable by all standard, except for Grant Park Market I suppose. Definitely won't be returning. read more
