I'm not sure why this Publix has only 2.5 stars. We're always treated so kindly here (after a year of visits) and have no complaints. The store is always super clean and friendly. We love family shopping here and enjoy the bakery. read more

I go here for all my Grocery needs. Great atmosphere, good people. All the items are always stocked and easy for me to find.

I've been a lifelong customer of publix. My brother was a cart boy back in the early 80s. I knew I was paying a bit more for good customer service & quality food. I still love to pick up a sandwich & head to beach, but I digress. The customer service at this store is still great at the checkout. Not so much with the employees walking the store. (Ironically it was teenagers checking me out & bagging groceries.) Ok, complaint number 1, my cold items were intermixed with pantry items, but not the worst. Biggest complaint... I purchased items that were expired!!! Why should I have to double check expiration dates when I'm paying more to have a better experience? I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'll shop across the street at Walmart. They haven't sold me any expired food!! Additionally, the app is crap. Even walmart has a better app :( Come on!! I just ordered a Boarshead sandwich from this Publix. Whomever works in the deli on Friday nights just went way over and above his job! They'd run out of all bread except for rye. This man takes the time to call me and let me know. He only had rye bread and I said that was fine. He went out of his way to make sure my order was as good as he could possibly make it! I love shopping at Publix, but will never ever use the pharmacy again. Having just spent an hour in urgent care, I went to have my three year olds prescription for an antibiotic filled. I had my three year old and five year old with me. I figured we would run in quickly and get the meds since they both have rsv and my son has a ear infection and fever. The technician told me they had just gotten the prescription and it would be 40 minutes. Meanwhile I was the only one in line, no one else even standing around waiting. I worked as a pharmacy technician for 12 years and never did I ever tell a mother with a sick child she had to wait 40 minutes for his antibiotic. I looked at her shocked and said, "my son is sick and he really needs his antibiotic." She said "we are really backed up." Again, I know how it works and you are never too "backed up" to fill a antibiotic prescription for a three year old in a timely manner who is waiting. I told them I knew they just had to grab it and put a label on it and have the pharmacist check it. And she just stared at me. I told them I would wait. I stood with my feverish son in my arms and my coughing daughter for 20 minutes while they turned their back to whisper about me and the technicians who rang people out rolled their eyes at me. Finally, apparently when the pharmacist was ready to stop being petty, she took the filled prescription out of a basket and told someone to ring me up. Never in all my life would I expect this level of unprofessionalism at Publix. If a healthcare professional can't have compassion on a sick child, and are going to be so petty as to make him suffer in his mothers arms at the grocery store when no one else was even around waiting or picking up their prescriptions, they shouldn't be working healthcare. Shame on them. I'm disgusted and disappointed in Publix and their pharmacy staff and will not be back. Again, to be treated so unprofessionally as a mother of a urgently sick child in my arms simply because they had the "power" to make me wait, is absolutely inhumane and atrocious and they should be ashamed of themselves. I will be contacting corporate and reporting this level of unprofessionalism, and I sincerely hope that it won't happen to anyone else in my shoes. read more

I was just there I ordered their cranberry turkey sandwhich the lady working the counter named Chic was terrible. she made the sandwhich in a whatever fashion throwing it together she asked me if I wanted it toasted I said no thank you and she toasted it. Then I went to hot bar where they have the tenders and nobody at the counter. Finally when the guy comes out from the back ten minutes later he slowly puts his gloves on has an attitude the whole time. Overall terrible experience at Publix tonight. read more

This is the only store that I have had issues with customer service staff being extremely rude to me. I was having issues with my WIC and she rudely said that I must have gotten the wrong items or that I didn't have enough on my card for the items. I politely told her that I have purchased these same items before and that I do have enough since I checked my balance online right before I came into the store. She didn't seem to know what to say after that but my experience was extremely frustrating and embarrassing. Not even to mention that I am now having to go to a different store to get milk and food for my son. read more

They lose two stars for having a disrespectful manager. I hate coming to this one only because she works there but I also enjoy coming here because the employees are kind. The manager was only disrespectful because she can't mind her business and spoke to me in a disrespectful tone about where I should place the items that I've purchased. My husband and I really enjoy shopping at this Publix and it truly IS a pleasure. We always get great service whether it's at the bakery, checkout, deli, or customer service. We shop here about once a week and recently found out one of our favorite products is sold here for almost $1 less than the Walmart across the street! The only concern we have is trying to get the organic lemon juice we like in a larger size (they only sell the 16 oz size). At the checkout this evening an employee bagging our groceries had such delightful conversation we even made another purchase on his recommendation. *This is a review for my bakery experience only. * I wanted to order a custom photo cake for an important occasion. I checked with my local Publix in Georgia and was told that cakes can be made with 24 hours notice. I arrived at this Publix in the middle of the afternoon. I told the bakery associate that I wanted the cake tomorrow. She asked me what kind of cake I wanted. I said chocolate. She didn't ask about the frosting or colors used for the text. She asked me when I wanted to pick it up. I asked if they had a strict rule of 24 hours or if I could pick it up earlier. She said she could have it ready by the time they opened - 7am. I told her I would pick it up no earlier than 10am. I actually showed up at 3pm. I talked to the same associate who didn't seem to recognize me. She and another associate looked all around the area for the cake. After a few minutes, she said that my order had not been placed in the slot for that day's pickups. The associate asked if I had an hour so she could make the cake. There was no apology. There was no expression of remorse for this error. She wasn't mean. It was just a matter of fact statement. Luckily, I did have an hour to spare so I left and came back an hour later. The cake was done. Thank goodness for that. Though I still wonder if they took a cake from the display and applied new frosting. In the future, I will probably try another bakery. If I do use Publix again, I will set the pick up time for at least two hours before I need the cake, just in case! read more

It is rare for me to go to any store where I cannot checkout myself as I am very critical of damaged food (especially bruised produce), crushed cookies/crackers, dented cans, and damaged boxes. But Publix staffers are almost all very careful. While they do not have self-checkout, and I have to rely on a checker to scan my items, they do let me bag my own purchases. I choose to be grateful for that because Publix has the Best Produce on their shelves - always; they have an abundant selection of frozen foods, terrific meats, occasional good seafood sales, and many specialty items that I doubt I would ever see in Walmart or Kroger. I wish they stocked more Pyrex products instead of Anchor Hocking (which shatters above 400 degrees), but that's not the reason I go to a grocery. Publix Departments are all above par - the deli is not cheap, but their foods don't "taste" cheap either! The bakery doesn't always have my favorite cranberry nut bread, but there are always many alternatives, a large variety of buns and rolls, and all kinds of pastries, pies, cakes, and confections. I have relied on their pharmacy for 6 years with great advice on demand - they always ask the questions to get me the best pricing and they text me when my prescriptions are ready for pickup. I still wish they had self-checkout, mostly so I can stop feeling like a complainer for simply wanting to avoid the damage checkers cannot help but create - whether it's a dented Puffs box or a small hole in a pet food bag that spills out all over the bagging area making such a mess that waiting patrons have to be moved to other lanes. Everything from crushed chips to ruined asparagus tips can typically be avoided with self-checkout. At the Sam's and Walmart's I do frequent, self-checkout is SO much faster than at Publix even though there is rarely more than 1 cart in line ahead of me. At Sam's and Walmart I will wait if the 8-10 self-checkout lanes are all busy because waiting on one of them is still faster and safer than using a checker. As good as they are, Publix checkers are simply not vested in the products they're handling. read more

Just once I would like to make it out of Publix with a loaf of bread or a bag of potato chips that were not crushed beyond recognition. Pubix baggers insist on shoving bread and potato chips into bags with other heavy items or packing them into one bag like they are paying more than a penny for these cheap bags. Today I thought I had found the answer on potato chips, Pringles, right can't screw that up. They bagged them with about a half dozen heavy canned item the proceeded to drop the bag on the floor. No apology, just gather all the items up put them back in the bag and acted like nothing had happened. So I just bought two cans of potato dust. My last trip to this Publix. Horrible bakery service. I was told they could do a certain cake for my daughters bday and instead I got the run around for 2 days until finally I called the manager who just happened to be the lady that was suppose to call me back. I have always used Albertville Home Bakery but because I have just moved here I am having to use Publex until I find a new bakery. I do not recomend them. They were wanting to charge me $30 just to stack two cakes on top of each other. Total price for a 7inch and 10 inch cake $120... albertville home bakery did the same cake last year for $50... Publex bakery is a joke!!!! NO help, poor service, horrible cake selections and outragous prices!!!! Save your money and go to a real bakery!!! read more
