I stopped by to pick up items for japchae and bulgogi which are two dishes Koreans make during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Here in America you can get those foods at any Korean restaurant year round. Overseas the average Korean family doesn't eat either one once a week. I have a great friend coming to visit and I purchased the foods necessary to prepare japchae and bulgogi at Christmas along with the ingredients to make birthday soup. My friend will be cooking. Yum! While I was at Holiday International Market, I saw radish kimchi and picked some up. It's not fermented yet and will be by Christmas hopefully. They have expanded the interior and have double the space they previously had. There are a variety of Asian foods to purchase. Today I saw live crawfish, fresh shrimp, several varieties of fish and nothing smelled fishy!!! If you like fresh vegetables and Asian herbs, they have a variety. I have watched for a while to see when this Asian Market would be opening. It is nice to have this…read morespecialty store in south Huntsville. Entering the store on the right side at the front were several varieties of rices. I looked to the left and the cold section was the distance of the length of the store and stocked with several varieties of noodles, tofu's, vegetables, fresh fish, fresh shrimp and much more. There was NO SMELL from the seafood. I walked around the store admiring all the clean floors and shelves which is expected from a new business. The young man at the cash register was friendly and helpful. He didn't hover and I appreciated that. I purchased several items and was pleased with my grocery haul. If you live on the south side of Huntsville, this store is convenient and stocks all the major foods and condiments Asians consume. Please stop by and check them out.
