This Publix sits on the corner of Old 41 and Barrett Parkway, sharing a shopping center with a few restaurants and local store fronts. This location has been in place for a while, so age is starting to be visible in areas of the store, inside and out. Nothing crazy, but the floors are worn, carts have seen better days and the overall layout is a little different and smaller than newer stores. Service here has never been an issue, however it has never been stellar either. Publix has a high level of service that they offer, but all interactions I have had at this store have not consisted of that level. From the bakery/sandwich associates to the cashiers, service has been decent and has got the job done each time. I have swung in for actual groceries, cookies, booze and of course, a Pub Sub. My latest trip was the get that sub and for this trip I ordered through the website to pick up at a scheduled time, 830pm. I arrived at 835pm and there my sammy was, sitting in the pick up section near the deli counter. I scooped up my drink and chips and headed to the front where the cashier that was open and free was waiting at the end of her aisle, which is a nice touch and takes the guess work out of scoping open and free lanes. Overall, this Publix is a decent store in a solid location that checks off all the boxes needed when it comes to the brand! When in the area and in need, I will certainly be back! read more

This Publix Super Market off of Old 41 is about 3 miles from Kennesaw Mountain and about 3 miles from Town Center Mall. The new Whole Foods Farmer's Market is about half a mile east of the store. It's tucked away up on a hill in the Barrett Parkway Shopping Center with a Race Trac and a Texaco gas station nearby. There are lots of other businesses in this same strip. They include the following The UPS Store Johnny's New York Style Pizza Laredo's Mexican Bar and Grill Caper's Restaurant and Bar I've been here a handful of other times and have no complaints. Publix began in Florida and used to be closed on Sunday and someone had to push your groceries out for you. That was a time when Publix was the Chick Fil A of supermarkets. Wow how it has changed. No more pushing out carts. Open Sunday. Rude service people like Tiffney today who never spoke or said one word unless I did and then when I said have a good day she said and I quote "mmhmmm". It is attitudes like that that dethroned McDonald's from being at the top. I understand she is just one but that one gave me a horrid impression because you know what has not changed? Their prices have not gone down and that means a frown. read more

Not our usual Publix, lesson learned! We picked this location due to convenience our weekly lunch meat order pick up time was 7:45pm, so I went to pick it up at 8:30pm and to my surprise it wasn't ready. Now the Deli staff was busy dealing with several customers, so I'm patient waited several minutes a deli associate acknowledged me told me he was working on my order. The deli staff deserved 3 stars but the hair net wearing manager who yelled "may I help you" from the front door after I'd waited 13 minutes was ridiculous. I had the impression she was gonna go find out why the hell my deli meats weren't ready instead of finding what she could do to help. Then when I arrived home my order was wrong. read more

Instacart driver for Publix is malicious they need to do better screenings. Delivery driver called me when she arrived at my building and wanted me to come down and get my water. I told her I paid for delivery she hung up on me. Received damaged groceries because she didn't want to bring my cases of waters to my 3rd floor apartment so she damaged them as well as some other items. She took a picture saying groceries were delivered but when I went to the door my items were delivered near my neighbors door and damaged. Ok so I'm totally against writing emotionally driven reviews but...on occasion I'll make an exception. This is one of those times. This Publix has got to be my least favorite Publix out of all the Publix stores I've visited. So what sent me over the edge this time? Well I'm glad you asked! So hubby and I've are attending an outdoor concert and decided to grab some subs since food is allowed. I placed an order at 3:30 to be picked up at 4pm. That's half an hour, correct? Now I purposely ordered because I know that they can get slammed in the deli. Now maybe you're asking, why did you go to this Publix if it's your least favorite? Well, it was en route to the venue because any other time I would go to the Publix on Cobb Pkwy. Anyways, I arrive at 4:05 to find that my subs aren't even started...but was told "...they're working on it". SERIOUSLY? I ordered online for a reason! 20 mins later and a lot of patience lost I'm attempting to FINALLY check out only to find that (as usual) there's 2 maybe 3 registers open, all with long lines and people with buggies of groceries. So I go to customer service and of course everyone is buying smokes and one guy didn't have enough change to cover his purchase. I'm about to lose it at this point so I dig through my wallet to find the remaining change he needed, anything for me to get rung up and out of this store. So yea, 430pm and I'm finally leaving Publix. Now again, my rating is not just based off today's experience. This store has previously messed up a deli order, they are constantly missing or low on products, and I don't think I've ever seen more than 3 lines open. Oh, and by the way, there is no self checkout so forget that. Yes, the workers are still polite but I'd be lying to say shopping is a pleasure here. Oh and as a last note, I did call and speak to the deli manager about the lack of timeliness of my order. Let's just say she sounded less than concerned or empathetic. "Mmmm, well it's Memorial day weekend." Oh ok, I guess that means you might be busy, maybe I should have ORDERED yesterday. Seriously? She also said, I'll speak to the online ordering coordinator but I'm highly doubtful of that. I'm sure she was thinking, oh a customer griping or wanting something free. No thanks lady. Did a terrible job handling safety measures during Covid. There were various signs acknowledging that masks were enforced inside for both customers and employees yet customers were allowed to shop and walk around without masks. The employees were also not wearing masks or improperly wearing them. The store itself is usually stocked and organized. The staff is cleaning during night shifts consistently and it's usually busier in the daytime. read more

I only gave them 2 stars because they had a product in stock that I have been trying to find for weeks. I went in there today to get a fried chicken breast at the hot food station. I was horrified to see several flies landing all over the hot food. When I went up to check out I brought it to the attention of the cashier who immediately went over to the manager to let her know of the situation. read more

Contrary to what has been written, it depends on what one is buying. I find this store to always be low in certain items. And they are constantly pulling items that I now had to go elsewhere to find. No more Dreamfield Lasagna, no more P.F. Chang frozen foods, no more Girard's Ceasar dressing, the list goes on. Bought some ocean perch and spoiled the next day. My question is why did the best buy date have only 2 days left without the price being marked down? My friend stopped shopping there because she has to use their handicap scooter and is rarely available. I know of no grocery store with only 2 scooters. Most have 4. And we had often requested at least one more be put in the store. And the ones they have are Jerky to ride. They're in need of repair or replacement. This store is old and in need of updating. There is no place to eat inside if you order a sandwich. The soup in the soup bar seems stale. I've totally left this store except for a quick emergency need. I give it two stars because of the friendly and corteous staff. Otherwise it would be 1/2 star if possible. read more

Publix has been my grocery store of choice for years for two reasons; quality and service. Today I received the absolute worst service I have ever experienced at any Publix. I walked the entire store, going through almost every isle and in each isle there were employees unpacking merchandise; not once was I greeted as is typically Publix customer service. In once particular incident, I was standing in place scanning my options and I suppose I must have been in the way of one of the employees because she briskly walked all the way up to stand beside me and said not a word; I felt uncomfortable and shifted to my right a little as she had invaded my space, that is when she moved closer and started stocking without a word, without a greeting; I suppose I was in her way after all. I, at this point concluded that this Publix clearly has a low standard at which they operate as far as customer service is concerned. The icing on the cake right before my exit was the cashier Cindy; an older caucasian woman. Cindy was carrying on a very vibrant lively conversation with the customer in front of me as I unpacked my cart. She then started scanning my items...in silence. I finished unpacking my cart unto the belt and stood directly in front of Cindy, she never once looked up at me nor did she speak. This woman cashed my entire cart without once acknowledging the customer she was servicing. I will not be patronizing this location again and will be sure to discourage others as well. This Publix has fallen short of the standards the brand is known for and it is very disappointing. Shopping was NOT a pleasure today. read more

Dear Publix, I was at your store Publix at Barrett Parkway, 1635 Old Highway 41 NW,Kennesaw GA 30152-4480 on Thursday May 26, 2022 and was going to pick up some subs from the deli for dinner.  It was around 6:30pm.  This is the 2nd time I come to this location's deli.  The first time was a couple of months ago and the had about 5 customers waiting in line, which is quite a bit when you're waiting in line for a sub to be prepared, and it took them over an hour before they got to me.  This time (yesterday) I decided to stop by at the deli again.  There was 3 people in line.  There was one gentleman making a salad for a customer and one lady making subs, which looked like to be an online order, so I realize they were busy.  However, there were 5 other employees running around in the back just talking with each other about their weekend and personal life's and paying no attention to customer's whatsoever.  I realize you should have fun while you work, but you should at least acknowledge a customer.  I also understand if you're busy restocking or cleaning, but these employees were just walking around, one of them just pushed a cart to towards the back and they were not really doing anything.  The employee that was making the salad for the customer was having a very long conversation with her.  Again, I know that you have to be courteous to the customer, but you also need to know to be diligent and try to move them along because there are other customers waiting.  The two customers in front of me turned around to me and said "they have been talking back and forth for over 15 mins and he's still not done with her" and I had just got in line.  I noticed that they would speak a few sentences and he would put one topping on her salad, and then another few sentences and then he would put another topping on the salad.  I am not even exaggerating.  He was taking a very long time to prepare her salad.  After waiting for 11 mins (this is after the 15 mins that the customers in front of me had mentioned), I walked over and politely waited for a space between their conversation, because I didn't want to be rude either, and said "sir, I think you need to call a manager because I think you need help".  He immediately raised his hand gesturing for me to stop and then he answered "oh well we all need help" and started grinning and giggling.  I don't know why he took my comment as either offensive or supposed that it was funny because I realized he was busy with that customer; however, since he was taking so long to help her, I honestly meant that he really needed other employees to help him, I wasn't trying to belittle him and I said it quietly because I didn't want to offend him either.  However, he completely ignored me after that so I went to get back in line.  He continued at the same slow pace.  The 2 customers before me thanked me for doing that.  He then later told all the employees behind him (the ones that weren't doing anything) to start taking orders from the next 2 customers.  This is what he or any of them should have done to begin with instead of doing nothing while the customers are just there waiting.  During this whole time, I could see other customers coming to the deli, but they were taking so long that they would not stop and just move on.  At this point it had been over 1/2 hour of waiting and I finally though I am not going to wait another hour like I did the last time, so I just left the store.  I don't know if your employees don't have adequate training or if it's poor wages, but for some reason customer service and a sense of urgency has gone out the window today.  I used to work at restaurants and grocery stores were I had to hustle and make sure that the customers were taken care of.  I don't understand why your employees are so laid back and uncaring.  Thank god there are other stores that make subs because I certainly won't be coming back.  Shame on management for allowing this kind of work behavior.  I hope my comments help you. read more

Ordered a strawberry shortcake from here with 3 hours notice. The cake was delicious, so soft, moist and topped with large juicey strawberries. Working with the young lady on the phone to the helpful gentleman at the bakery that night...service was most helpful and with quick check out. read more

This location is always well stocked and kept extremely clean. The meats are also great.

Publix always seems to have friendly staff that are well trained no matter which store you go to. I really enjoy all the organic and health conscious products they carry. Parking gets a little crazy at busy hours though. read more

Oh Publix, how I love you. This location is smaller than most of the other locations I've been to. But it is always spotless, their produce is fresh, as is the bread that they bake in their bakery. Their fresh hot food is great as well (just not for your health, haha). Their fried chicken is so good. Really, I know you must be skeptical reading that, and at first I was too, because who buys fried chicken from a grocery store? But this gal does now. I find myself running to Publix to grab some along with their potato wedges for those nights I can't get dinner on the table. It seems to be the best at this location though because the other Publixes I've been to miss the mark on the flavor. What also stands out is their customer service. Everybody is friendly, no joke; I am always greeted with a "good morning", "hi", "hello", "how are you doing?", "are you finding everything ok?" as soon as I step foot in the store. In fact, I was just there this morning to buy some sourdough bread. The nice gentleman working in the bakery came out to help me. While this Publix store is a bit smaller than most, it does not lack for any of the products you would expect to find in a larger store. The store is always clean and the staff is helpful. I'm a big fan of their bakery where you can always find fresh breads and cakes. I highly recommend this Publix to others. read more
