I visited the Flint Crossing Publix in Meridianville, AL earlier this morning since it's the closest location to me. My experiences there are usually hit or miss, and today was unfortunately another miss. When I'm searching for an item that isn't clearly marked by the aisle signs, an associate or manager typically offers assistance when they see me. That did not happen today.
A manager named Zach saw me, did not greet me, and made no effort to assist. He was lingering in aisle 1, possibly stocking, but he still could have acknowledged me. I intentionally walked up and down the aisle to see if he would speak or offer help. As usual, he did not. I was so frustrated that I went to customer service to look for his name on the wall. A very sweet young lady at the counter greeted me immediately and told me exactly where to find what I needed.
It is disappointing when people accept positions that require direct customer interaction but fail to demonstrate even basic courtesy toward the customers who support the business. As a business owner myself, I know how essential customer service is to maintaining loyal, repeat customers.
This morning was the final straw. I will not return to this location because of Zach's unprofessionalism and lack of regard for the people who help pay his income. I consistently receive far better service, and a much more welcoming atmosphere, at the Providence and Twickenham Publix locations. read more
