I actually liked this place. It's colorful, clean, and easily the most convenient place by far to my vacation spot. Looks like a lot of reviews are on the deli, which honestly I don't care about, but the choice and selection here is actually really good. Toiletries, Shampoo, Veggies and Foods all have a solid selection; Nearly everything I need is here and the service is pretty good. Every staff member I asked knew where everything was, which made shopping here quite pain free. Alcohol is in a separate section with its own cashier and room. What I have really appreciated during this pandemic is the ability for me to use curbside pickup. This wasn't a new device offered but I had not taken advantage of it. It honestly has great to have this option. The app works smoothly with the shopping of my groceries as well as initiating the pickup. I usually don't have to wait at all when I get there as my groceries are being brought out as I pull up. There has been inconsistencies in quality of this service. Angela makes the best pub subs. I always go when she's in to get my sandwich. This publix has a much better assortment of food than most in Miami. Especially international, im able to get some snacks and drinks i miss from home. I go here before i leave work instead of stopping at the one by my house because of how much better stocked it is. As for the people complaining about others buying up food, being asked to wear a mask, and acting all around entitled... there's always online shopping. They can refuse service for any reason. Publix Instacart ruined my Thanksgiving and embarrassed me so badly that I almost couldn't bear to attend my family dinner. I promised to provide a fruit tray. I used Instacart Senior customer service since I'm 81 years old. I ordered this item Sunday to be delivered Wednesday since I knew Publix would be closed on Thursday Thanksgiving. On Wednesday at n 3:30 pm I got a message that Marco G starting to shop for my fruit tray. At 4:32 pm I got another message telling me they could not fill my order as the item required a 24-hour lead. I called Instacart Senior customer service and was told that there was nothing they could do for me to get the fruit tray to where it had to go. Horrible experience at the hot food section today. I bought the mojo pork with Mac and cheese and collard greens. There's no two ways about this...it was one of the nastiest meals I ever had. Oneyda, a cashier, is very rude to me each time I check out here. She's so rude to the point that when she sees me, she shakes her head so to say "Don't come here gringo!" I was very polite to her each time I went through a line she was working in, and then one day she started behaving very rudely to me. One day I was in line I said hello and she made a nasty face at me and then muttered something in Spanish to me (presumably about me), and then she greeted the Hispanic customer behind me with a big smile and other welcoming gestures. I understand a language barrier limiting full conversation, but I spoke to her before multiple times briefly which was fine and pleasant. Ever since that day she's done this head shaking toward me every time I make eye contact with her. I'm not sure why Oneyda's behavior is appropriate at a Publix, where customer service is a priority. The absolute worst and dirtiest Publix in FL. Never parking available, Escalators are always broken. Severely understaffed.

2.5 Let's start with the positives: the amount of eye candy at this Publix is off the charts. I found it hard to concentrate on shopping when there was so much to look at all around. Say what you will about Miami (and, I will): it sure does have a lot of pretty (and, downright, blazing). That said, you go to the grocery store to buy groceries, not ogle culo. So, let's look at this Publix from that perspective. And, to the surprise of none, it fails. How can a store this large and with so many things going for it be this much of a mess? Organization (or, lack thereof). On each occasion in which I shopped here, the deli was the hottest of messes. Long lines. Sparse product. Workers who scoffed at the very notion of work. Workers who couldn't figure out their own numbers system. Managers who were nowhere to be found. In an attempt to get sliced deli meat, I waited no less than 31 minutes... at various times of day... on various days. That just doesn't make sense. Something so simple becomes an exercise in frustration. Because, Miami. The product issues don't stay with just the deli. As you can tell from the reviews and photos, this location is huge. There's no excuse for such poor stocking of product. I shouldn't have to go to another grocery store to complete my shopping after coming here. I could see if I were shopping at a small, local mart. Sure. Makes sense. At a behemoth of a national chain, there are no excuses. But, when I would talk to the store managers, excuses were all I got. The parking situation is a plus/minus situation as well. This has less to do with the store and more to do with Miami. If the weather is nice out, parking, while slow & crowded, is tolerable. God help you if it's raining. I had the experience of almost being hit four times in the garage. Driving in, you have to navigate a steep hill and then turn right. Rather than moving to higher ground for parking, drivers tend to stop immediately after the turn, thereby causing potential rear-endings. Rather than drive around people who can't quite seem to navigate parking spots, the denizens of this Publix would rather honk and scream. I saw two fellows get out of their cars to fist fight. Seriously. Miami. So, while you can bank on slow, disorganized chaotic shopping that may not yield everything you have on your list, you can be assured of seeing some of the best booty in the 305. This only pertains to the pharmacy. Today was the third time the pharmacy incorrectly handled my medication refills, letting them expire by using them in the wrong order. Now I need to go back to the doctor and pay for expensive blood work wasting my time and money. I really only shop for water and soda drinks. But I still get a chance to walk around the store and observe how clean and neat the store is. The prices are a little different then my home town but. I rarely bother to review a big chain business, but in this case; I'll make an exception. Those of us that live in Midtown/Downtown area have been anxiously awaiting the opening of this new Publix location. The nearest Publix is further up on the 4800 block Biscayne. The Little Haiti Publix, is what they call that one; is painfully small and cramped with inadequate parking. So going there is always a big chore. Thankfully, the new Publix between 17th and 18th has opened to accommodate me and this emerging neighborhood.... but mostly thankfully they're accommodating me : D It's big, but it doesn't seem as daunting as the S. Beach Publix on 5th and Alton Rd. The aisles seem to be more spread out. They've got a demonstration kitchen area for culinary instruction. The store also boasts a cafe with a Miami-style vending window to sell Cuban coffee to pedestrians outside. Who would want to leave the outside heat to come into an air conditioned, shaded store, protected from the sun; just to get a cup of hot coffee, right?? They've also got plenty of parking and huge pharmacy. The beer selection is decent. The wine selection, not so good. BUT, they have an adjacent Publix liquor store to sell you a bottle of the hard stuff. The building itself has some retail space for other businesses too. There's already a Wells Fargo(big deal, Wells SUX), a GNC nutrition store, and a Hair Cuttery. Just another example of this new neighborhood taking shape. read more

Anyone who has read my reviews knows that I loathe shopping for anything, anywhere, anytime. I try to limit my retail transactions to online only, both for my own mental health and for the safety of other shoppers, but sometimes an in-person excursion is inevitable. Given that history, it is an impressive feat when a retail establishment garners a 4-star review from me! The parking is not bad; certainly superior to the situation at my main Publix in North Shore. I like that there is an attached Wells Fargo branch as well - I can handle banking and groceries with one visit. There is also a GNC in case you want to pick up some supplements on your retail tour. The store is very large and has a great selection. The employees are mostly friendly and customer service-oriented, and - most shocking to me - the patrons have a dangerously low level of douche-itude. Please keep this between us. If our elected officials find out that there are non douche-y people residing within city limits, those folks may be escorted north of the county line. The service at the sandwich counter is spotty... it always seems to take a long time, no matter how few people are in line waiting or working behind the counter. I remember when this place was just an empty lot that was full of bottles and smelled a lot like urine. My, how times have changed! I visit Miami every year and always stay at the Hilton. The area used to be incredibly shady (and parts still are) but with the introduction of places like this Publix (along with the attached Wells Fargo and the liquor store), things are much nicer now than they were just a few years ago. Deceptively small from the outside, when you walk in you experience grocery store overload! So many options....I loved the prepared foods aisle where I picked up so many tasty things to eat. I found myself wandering through the store just to gape at all the stuff they had. Everything was fully stocked (except the bananas were a little low), it was orderly, clean and efficient. Aisles were wide and easy to get by. Checkout was fast and friendly. When visiting in the past, I used to go to the Publix in Miami Beach on Dade Blvd. Those days are over....my loyalty is now with this Publix. read more

I've always liked going to Publix on a visit to South Florida. It is a different aspect on grocery shopping than that of a good portion of grocery stores here in NYC. Never really seems as crowded, the cashiers appear to be friendlier and little bit more helpful and you get more of an option as far as deli and hot foods. A lot of times when I come to Publix as I did with my recent visit, I had gotten a hero sandwich to hold me over for the night and morning before my cruise. I should of gotten half of one instead of 12in. being that those sandwiches are easily filling but regardless, can always depend on Publix for a quick food run, especially if you do not wanna overspend at a restaurant. read more

I'M DONE!!!! WORSE PUBLIX EVER!! I come here quite a couple times a week, never fails, they always OVERPACK your bag and my groceries don't even make it to my door!!! I understand you are trying to save the world by not utilizing plastic and maybe I should invest in a reusable bag but for shoppers sake, please bag properly!!! I don't understand if bag boy/girls simply lack common sense or if management is so stingy that they train them to have dissatisfied customers. Look at the picture associated with this post: 2 heavy bottles (one with condensation from the cold) and fruits, obviously TOO MUCH WEIGT!!! I have other examples too: a 2L soda bottle along with a half gallon of milk, single bag, really? It's also disappointing that the cashiers get mad when you don't donate to whatever monthly cause publix is funding. PUBLIX should stop their customers using their cell phones while they are shopping in their stores. Some people are ignorant and careless. Yesterday a shopper who was talking on the phone loudly and laughing while bent over the exposed vegetable shelving checking the items. Also, the isles in the stores are not wide enough to give you safe space to pass another shopper who is using their cell phone. When you are at a close proximity to another person who is using their phone talking, shouting or laughing exposes you to their airborne droplets of saliva that can transmit the Corona virus to you. I am surprised Publix; a highly aware and clean establishment does not realize this health hazard. Just called in a prescription to this pharmacy and was absolutely appalled by the Pharmacist there. She was incredibly rude and like no pharmacist I've ever spoken to over the phone before. She rushed me through a prescription for a patient that could make a difference between a patient having a huge infection or not. When I asked her name at the end she simple said "Kris"/"Chris" and hung up immediately. I really hope she was able to get the correct information as it was never repeated back to me for confirmation, and I had already been on hold waiting for someone for 10 minutes before she answered as rudely as possible, rushed me through something important, and then subsequently hung up on me. read more

Whew... where do i begin? Today was a horrible experience. I went to the customer service counter to purchase a $1,500 money order with my debit card like I do every month for my rent. I was greeted by a very racist man named Steve who informed me that using my debit card wasn't allowed. I asked him when did this policy start? He claimed it's been forever. I asked to speak with a manager. Steve then presented Nancy who was extremely condescending and disgustingly rude. I had to stop our conversation at one point and ask Nancy if she knew me outside of Publix? I couldn't understand her misplaced anger towards me. I continued to try to explain I'm using my debit card and entering my pin. This is how I do it every month. Nancy pretty much continued her drama as if she wanted to fight me. Finally a very sane and normal Joe appeared and explained that I'm actually correct and using my debit card is within their policy. Needless to say if Joe didn't arrive, the police were probably going to get called for an assault. Someone need to definitely give Steve & Nancy a course/lesson is customer service as soon as possible!!! Their behavior was unacceptable. read more
