I like this Publix. It is not bad. It has everything you need at reasonable prices. I think the company is well run. Meats, fresh and bright. Produce same. Breads always fresh and nice selection. Pastries tasty and addictive. I shop at the other one on SW 7th just more convenient for me. read more

Pretty standard Publix. There is nothing spectacular about this location. It is smaller than other locations, which I like because it's easier for me to get in and out. Everyone is pretty friendly. Lots of people bring their dogs in the store, which I could never understand. But what else do you expect in Brickell right? So, one day I happened to have my maltipoo, figured I could just grab something quick since I've seen a ton of people with their dog. Of course, the manager came up to me and told me that dogs were not allowed in the store. I was pretty baffled because the only reason I even tried to bring my dog in there (because I talk about people who bring their dog into a grocery store) is because I've seen so many people do it at this location. Not sure why I was singled out. Other than that, I've always had a pleasant experience at this location. read more

Clean store with friendly workers that speak English! This location is smaller than your typical Publix, so they may not have certain items (i.e. no yukon potatoes). A short walk to the 10th metromover and Brickell City Center. Restaurants and exercise studios nearby. read more

I have been coming here for 9 years. It has always been convenient since I live around the corner. I have always brought my dog (a little lapdog) . They seem to have a new sheriff in town so I will stop shopping here. I got chased down by this little woman accompanied by her security guard (that looked embarrassed). In an extremely rude and unpleasant way, she demands me to remove myself from the store since I have this 13lb dog with me. I think this is an extremely unpleasant and odd way to treat a client of almost a decade. Is there a management program for Publix where the to-be managers learn customer service? This is terrible and I feel personally attacked. I thought Publix appreciated customer loyalty but until this woman, Paige is gone from this store I will never shop here again. I shop at this Public every week. While it's smaller relative to other grocery stores, I'm usually able to find all the items I need. The employees here are generally friendly and shelves are stocked. The highlights of this Publix is that it is easy to access, parking is free with validation, and it's clean. It gets busy if you come during the after-work rush, but the lines move pretty quickly. I find that most cashiers are friendly and bilingual Spanish speaking, which is important because there are many Spanish speakers in this neighborhood. My only complaint is that there are not enough employees around when I need help locating an item. The employees are generally stationed in the register, bakery, and produce areas, and very rarely can you find anyone to help you in the aisles. The produce aisle, while well stocked, is quite small so I have had trouble in the pasting finding certain items (e.g. mustard greens). A small annoyance is that there is very poor reception here for my ATT iPhone, usually 0 to 1 bar. read more

Publix is a good overall chain. You never realise how good it is until you stay in a place that doesn't have one. This one does a good job of reaching that high level of excellence that I am accustom to Publix bringing. The stores are clean, prices are reasonable especially for a store in the sprawling Brickell area and the service is real good. The only draw back is that it is very small and the bathroom is in a weird position. Other than that it is a great location. Also they have a parking garage where parking is free for two hours if you get it validated! Which is crazy good in Brickell. read more

All conversations guaranteed 100% real: Me, wandering around this Publix, wondering why a) there are so many women with bad henna jobs, ultra-tweezed eyebrows, and angry expressions wandering around speaking VERY LOUDLY on their cells b) the parents of the even louder shrieking children--a veritable cacophony of screams, yells, rants, raves, "mama gimmes" etc. can bear being near them for one more nanosecond c) there are no price tags on 70% of the items near vegetable aisle, hoping beyond hope: Me: "Excuse me, do you know how much these green beans cost?" Guy stocking aisles: ----------- (silence) Me: "Ermmmm....hello? Los green beans?" Him, asking a colleague, in another language that I actually understand: "Hey, how much are the green beans??" Colleague: ****something fast I actually cannot understand**** Guy: "I donno, but I ask?" Me: "That's OK" Further along in the aisles, asking another guy: "Hi. Can you tell me how much this muesli costs?" Guy: "Oh. I ask." Me:'"Thank you! Gracias!" crickets chirping guy does not return Later, in the cheese aisle, I inspect a piece of very expensivbe cheese, which I take to be blue cheese: My cheerful "HI!" sounds insincere in the extreme: "Um, do you know the price of this cheese?" Guy: "That cheese is NO good lady!" Me: "You know, you're right! Thank you!" I leave the Publix, relieved that the customer service ethic is alive and well at Publix, if one only has the patience to persevere. read more

Some days you need a night home alone. A quiet, melancholy night for 1 with no rsvps or lists no cocktails or dresses. Just the blues, jeans, Elite hoodie, and a meal that is half salty, half sweet, and all bad for you. You can score that at any grocery store but Thankfully this Publix has all that and more importantly they also have a video machine so you can get a movie or four. Rent the romantic comedy (but I don't) or you can rent the indie you missed or the tear jerker your friends warned your tear ducts about. The good news is between the deli, bakery, and random, new items you can prep dinner, grab a movie, the wine greets you at the door, and within 15 minutes you're out of there, fully equipped for a quiet night. read more

Dear Publix at Mary Brickell Village, I wish you were my Publix. I came here on Saturday to stock up for a BBQ Pool Party we had daytime at the Marina Blue building in Downtown. This place was like grocery store heaven for me! WOW!!! So shiny and so new!! The aisles were well stocked from floor to almost-ceiling and I found them to be spacious (not huge, but enough room). There are so many products to choose from, which I thought was a plus. I love a great selection, and Publix, you sure did come through with that! :) There are even products that you normally wouldn't find at a Publix - they seem to have a much larger organic section as well. Oh, and the beer selection is phenomenal!!! The Customer Service here is top-notch, but I am wondering if its just temporary being that you just opened...? There are lots of eager employees waiting to help and answer questions. This is great, and I hope it lasts past the honey moon phase. I was asked several times throughout my shop if I needed anything, which doesn't really happen in that manner at my local Publix. Overall this was a great shopping experience! I was dazzled and wooed by the newness of the store and found myself wanting to drive here just to grocery shop. The only downside... I will have to agree with Maria A. however, in respect that the layout here is rather strange and not too logical. Somethings seemed easier to find, how they have all the cold fridge items together instead of separating the aisles, but the produce section as an aisle was a bit strange, and the fact the meat section (butcher section?) was super tiny and in a corner (Que?!?!). But I guess it just takes getting used to. I'm sure someone that only shops here and then sees a different Publix would probably think THAT Publix's lay out is weird! Oh and the parking situation... Kinda complicated but they Validate and they also have their own parking that you go up a ramp right along the avenue... Anyhow, job well done Publix! Let's see what is next from you!!! The best Publix in town, bar none! Being a non-Spanish speaker, I would always get SO frustrated when shopping at the Pubix on the River before Mary Brickell opened. It was nearly impossible to find someone who could help me in fluent English, and I often left without some of the ingredients I was looking for. Fast forward a year and a half, and what a difference! The staff at Mary Brickell all speak English, and the Manager is amazing. I'm from Canada, and I'm often looking for ingredients that are typically used in baking by Brits and Canadians, but not Americans. I absolutely LOVE that there is a little section with my favorite Cdn/UK stuff. From the elusive Bird's Custard Powder to Aero bars to my favorite tea, it's a little piece of home in a city that is very, very different from where I grew up. Also, the managers are always willing to order you specialty items if you need them. I was looking specifically for red pepper jelly, which they did not carry. The manager offered to order me some, so I took him up on it. Now, they actually carry it in the store and apparently it sells pretty well! Skip the Subway next door, and opt instead for a delicious Publix sub sandwich. They are delicious, and the bread is much fresher and better quality than Subway. Do yourself a favor and order a side of the potato wedges - yummmmy. I love that the parking is easily validated, and my car doesn't get scorching hot while parked in the garage. The selection of food is great, and usually the produce is fresh and in wide variety. My only complaint: they are always sold out of Mary's Raspberry Vinaigrette! LOL The worst thing about moving out of Florida in a couple of years is going to be the lack of Publix in my life! read more

I have to admit that I was very skeptical when I read everyone's raving reviews about this Publix and how nice and friendly the employees were. I didn't hesitate to send back comments/compliments saying that people were only nice b/c it had just opened and b/c there were probably tons of managers at the store overlooking operations. Nevertheless, I was curious, and I love new supermarkets because of their cleanliness, so I was determined to go and prove that the people at this Publix were no different than at any other. I gladly wave my flag. My mouth has been shut, and I am no longer able to be skeptical as to their great service. Not only was everyone extra attentive (there was a man just standing around the produce section whose only job was to answer questions), but they were smiling and friendly. They looked happy to do their job... and as we reached the cashier's line, a group of boys/guys were gathered telling jokes and offering to help unload my cart... what?!?!?! you mean, you don't just pack the grocery bags, but you are going to unload the cart too?!?!?! OMG - I've died and gone to Publix heaven. I felt terrible not to have cash on me to tip Andrew - the nice guy who, unloaded the car unto the register belt, helped pack the groceries, AND carried them out to our car as well. But world please know... Andrew and Luis (the cashier) were AWESOME!!!! Emilio says they were just flirting, but I really don't care, that doesn't take away the great service and wonderful attitude they provided. There's a closer Publix by my house, but I'll be doing my groceries at this one from now on. I hate that I love this Publix. I have a family to feed and I had finally found a REALLY nice Winn-Dixie on Key Biscayne that made me feel like I was stretching my dollar, but last week I was forced to shop closer to home and ended up here, in grocery heaven. The store appears to be small, but the aisles are open and free of debris. Traffic is much lighter than the Publix on 13th, which is especially nice because I love to kill time exploring products and hate feeling cramped and rushed. I love that the organic and natural food items are beautifully displayed next to its "regular" name-brand counterparts~it's a great tactic for someone like me who usually skips specialty sections ($$$) entirely. And when I'm not stocking up on chi-chi labels, Publix-brand ANYTHING has proven terrific, totally trustworthy... special shout out to the deli section, I hate going broke on Boar's Head. The shelves are well stocked, and while the produce department isn't extensive I do appreciate a Publix employee who can give me the heads up on a TASTY apple or whatever else is actually in season. In the end, I spent a little more than I usually do at Winn-Dixie, but came out feeling like it was worth it (plus I saved $ in gas by staying local. I grabbed some sushi from the fish department, and took my son out to the cute cafe for an arepa and two croquettes that cost an alarming $2 total (the last prepared arepa I bought was on Brickell Key for $2.50/ea). Parking is free with validation for the first 2 hours. For smaller runs, I can walk to this location and browse the under-rated shops at Mary Brickell Village along the way. read more

This is an excellent example of how skilled the people at Publix have become at customizing their model to fit into a particular area or neighborhood. The location and design of this store are excellent, and I think the selection and variety of goods are targeting the local demographics pretty well. My only real complaint is that the produce department leaves something to be desired, but I suspect that this may well be in tune with whatever magical source wisdom they consulted about the "average" consumer in the area... read more

Friendly staff, especially at the bakery. Yolla, who makes your $1.29 cafe con leche, is a gem. She remembers the way you like it and is always smiling. My only complaint about this publix is that they are constantly packed with construction workers from nearby jobs. They buy up all the hot baked goods, make all lines longer, and crowd the entire front of the store during lunch to the point where you can barely walk in. Not to mention the cat calls to female passersby. Is this publix's problem? Yes. They need someone to manage these unruly crowds so the business people who frequent here still feel like it's a quick and efficient location. Not so now. read more

I only come to this location on foot. Parking is a problem, you need to drive up a NARROW ramp, park in a cramped space, validate parking, and wait in line when exiting due to all of the other Publix shoppers and the one parking cashier. With the other Publix a few blocks away, you are just in and out in no time. Yes this Publix has wider aisles and is cleaner however I do not like how ALL of the employees bother you by smiling, saying hello, or even "gasp" asking if you need help. It was nice at first but not if it happens 10 times in a single visit. Leave me alone for god sakes! I go grocery shopping twice a week stocking up on the same items, why would I need help? I agree the produce department is horrible. Eggplants are usually shriveled and ghastly. Apparently there is low turnover since it's not very busy. Plus why can't I find Florida oranges in Florida? I don't want Peruvian, Californian, or South African oranges. read more

Now I know why the cafe has a line every morning. There's only one person behind the counter! The harried Publix employee does her best, but there was something in the Cuban bread (or not in the bread) that made it taste odd; barely toasting it didn't help either. Which begs the question - when is Cuban toast neither Cuban nor toast? Either the people who organize this store haven't studied behavioral economics or the shoppers in Miami are different compared to nearly all other cities. There's one main entrance, but when you walk in, you're greeted by cheese, yogurt, and wine. If you continue down this aisle, you will encounter the deli and the bakery. Produce is at the complete opposite end of the store, next to frozen food and beer. Ok, maybe the company does know what they're doing by forcing you to walk around the entire store to get to the produce? Aside from the layout being weird, the store was clean, bright, and fairly well-stocked with basic stuff. I went here three times during a recent visit to Miami and noticed on Sunday night there were no bananas. Otherwise, over the course of my trips, I bought things to cook a dinner, some indigestion meds, and a toothbrush. What is nice about this chain is no membership cards required here so the sale prices are for everyone. They have a garage and will validate parking at checkout. There's construction going on right now so if you're walking, the sidewalk along SW 1st Ave sidewalk is closed. read more

This is not the best Publix within 5 blocks. There is another, much larger Publix located on 13th street and 1st avenue. This publix does not have as large of a selection, and everyone who goes to this Publix shows up dressed to impress (like everywhere else in Brickell). This review is only for the Publix cafe. I love that this cafe exists in walking distance from those in the Brickell area. It's very convenient and damn good. I especially love that we can walk our dog in the mornings and grab ourselves some snacks on our way back because of the walk-up window. We ordered little random breakfast items and cafe con leche for three people last weekend and everything came out to about $12! It's a great value and scrumptiously fresh! :) read more

I call this the "good Publix". Yeah the one on 13th street is fine and just as well stocked, but I prefer this shiny new Mary Brickell Village Publix so much more!! I can walk to either one in the same amount of time, but always enjoy my experience at this location so much more. And it has a pretty nice little outdoor "cafe" where you can buy sandwiches and pastries. This is my Publix of choice. I really dislike this Publix. As a matter of fact, I'd say the ONLY thing it has going for it is the covered parking lot. The aisles are minuscule, there are several products that they don't carry, and it seems icky in there. Their wine selection is limited and some of the better bottles one can find on Coral Way don't make their way to 7th. I think I've been to this Publix about five times in the last few years (this was before Mary Brickell opened and each time it was raining so I needed the covered parking); every time I dropped in I thanked the heavens that I had the one on Coral Way to turn to. read more

With the new Mary Brickell Village Publix, I almost forgot about the puny little Publix stores I used to have to frequent. How could I forget how horrible my experience every time I come here? First the parking lot is always a disaster, but that's due to the confused drivers and not really Publix's fault. Second there is the lack of logical organization to the store. The space is so small that items appear to be randomly disbursed throughout. Having grown accustomed to the great service, spacious aisles and great selection offered at Mary Brickell, I won't find myself back at this location any time soon. I'm not a fan of any grocery that doesn't start with word Whole and end with Foods. I am very anti-publix as literally almost everything on the shelves are genetically modified and have no nutrition what-so-ever (you can tell when each item has like over 50 ingredients in it). BUT we do go here from time to time and it's a pretty good location if I do say so myself. There are literally like 6 publix's in less than a one mile radius so it can be hard NOT to shop here but this is the best one in the area. There is free parking in the garage behind publix with your validated ticket. The staff seem super friendly here and always are around to help you find anything. They have a great wine selection as well! Definitely check this location out if you are not in the mood to drive to Whole Foods! read more

They often times have many deals, just as in other Publix but I have this feeling that the prices at this store are slightly more expensive. One thing that I have noticed is that the cash register line is always super slow. But overall, if you really need something and walk to this location, it is not so bad. I have to say that the things that impresses me the most with this tiny urban Publix, is just how many items they can cram into this tiny store! I like to pop over for lunch since it's just a quick train ride from downtown. Pick up a few items here and there. The online ordering for the deli saves tons of time and I use this feature at every Publix. My only gripe is that there's only two tables outside for eating your delicious Publix sammies. I' m not quite sure where else they could squeeze some tables in during the current Brickell construction mess, but maybe afterwards, we could add a counter or something?? Just an idear. read more

I like this Publix because you can always find free parking and you can get in and out without wanting to ram someone's cart or car. I go before 5 pm and have no trouble getting through the isles or finding what I need. The store is clean, neat and normally fully stocked. I park in the Publix lot which is on the second floor and free with validation. Sometimes I will run some errands, shop and then go - free parking for like an hour. So if you are like me and you are tired of getting in the way of old people, or screaming kids go to Mark Brickell Village Publix. read more

Generally this location is lackluster. It's usually dirty, the shelves aren't stocked very well, the selection is poor, the prices are high and the employees are a bit aloof. I deal with it. It's close to where I live. I grab stuff when I'm in a bind and move on. Been doing so for years. Today, however, I'm compelled to write a review because I experienced what was pretty much assault at the hands of one the employees. A male associate with an entire row of carts in front of him plowed full speed ahead towards me and another person. I said "look out!" Pretty loudly and the associate looked directly at me, ignored me and barreled towards where I was standing, ramming his multiple steel carts forward without stopping, slowing down or acknowledging us. It was pretty scary. I had to jump out of the way to avoid being run over by steel carts pushed with force. Thank goodness I'm not elderly, disabled or a toddler (the store has plenty of shoppers that fit those descriptions though, so be careful. And keep young kids close to you!!). read more

I thought this was a GREAT market and wonder if I had the right place-after reading some of these reviews. They had a wide variety of items, lots of wonderful and appetizing selections from many different countries which I had never seen before (and which are not in LA)and I was sorry I wasn't able to pack up an entire suitcase...they also had exotic items from the US_=like microwave black popcorn which I have only seen before on the web! It seems that there are a lot of Publix options in Brickell - even so, I was excited to hear about this one opening up. Likes: * A grocery store parking garage that isn't annoying * Extremely well-stocked * Manager is always around and always asking if you need any help * Cafeteria/Hot Dog stand outside with several benches and umbrellas. Nothing like a little espresso to speed up your shopping. * Spacious - I'm always squeezing in between people at the other Brickell publix * Shiny and new Dislikes: * Elevator is terribly slow and from the looks of it there is only one or two. Luckily I haven't visited this Publix during really busy times - I don't know how bad it gets. * While manager is always around, he does ask if you need help every time he bumps into you - which was a total of three times last time I went.
