I've had several conversations with the pharmacist about keeping my prescription in stock since I experience withdrawal symptoms when there's a lapse in taking it. I've been reassured multiple times that it would be kept on hand for this reason, yet I just called again today and was told it has to be ordered and won't arrive until next week. This has happened several times, and it's really disappointing given how important medication consistency is. I often find myself at this Publix after working out. It's great for grabbing a quick snack or anything I need before heading home. The store itself is typical Publix and the same quality I expect from all of their stores, and it's clean with free wi-fi. Of all the Publix stores I've shopped at, this one has the best clearance selection. I'm not sure WHY so many items are marked down here, but I've gotten some great deals. The last time I was there, they had a large clearance on hair dye. I've also bought cereal, protein bars, and candy on clearance. I've even seen beer on clearance. I'm shocked anywhere in Charleston would need to mark down beer to sell it, and I don't know that they NEED to, but they do. Like other Publix stores, customer service is top notch. Since moving to Mount Pleasant I've been a fan of Publix. Living in Park West it was the obvious choice but since moving to the bridge side of Mt P I've experience the other stores more often. Yes, there are three Publix locations in Mt P and a fourth on it's way with the Greenwise market. I often find myself grabbing a few items at Teeter because it's 24hrs and in walking distance but I do most of my "full cart" shopping at this location. I can do the Queensborough location which is a similar distance but I prefer the Ben Sawyer location. I like the layout, the cleanliness, and how it's even less crowded. Per usual, the Publix staff are always over the top helpful and the quality of the products is top notch. read more

My first time at this Publix on Ben Sawyer. What a great supermarket. I was pleasantly surprised by the layout, cleanliness and efficiency of the Publix staff here. Plus, parking is so easy even on a Friday night. Quiet all round. Of course my comparison is to my local Publix, here in Park West. Park West Publix is fine but always so busy and parking is not an easy task especially on a Friday night. Carts are a breeze to maneuver around the store, without sticking or screeching. Plus, local celebrity's shop here, like Darius Rucker . Yeah, I was cheesy and asked the lady at the register if he was who I thought he was.. yup.. Just a regular old Shmo like me running errands on a Friday night . Public's Mt pleasant on Ben Sawyer Blvd. "Thank you" and especially to a employee by the name of "Tina", in the Deli section she was efficient and went above and "beyond" our expectations. We had a family gathering on Saturday May 11 2019. My brother in law( jay bird) placed a catering order and she made it so easy. Of the three major supermarkets (BL, HT and Publix), this seems to be the only merchant that does require a customer to purchase the stated number of items in the advertised bundle to get the sale price . For example if a product's shelf price is $3.68 and the offer is 2 for $5,00, you can purchase just one for $2.50 ... what a savings! Also, for customers who want to make great subs at home ... the fabulous hoagie rolls, made fresh throughout the day, can be purchased separately, for $1.29 each. Last week my daughter used her allowance to purchase a Roblox gift card and while trying to expose the pin found the number to be illegible. Shouldn't be a problem, I have the card, the activation receipt, and the receipt. With the abundance of grocery stores in Mt Pleasant, I get to pick and choose which one I want to visit on any given day. Normally, if I'm in a hurry, I just head into the HT right next to our apartment. But, if I'm craving a sandwich for lunch, I spend a few extra minutes and head over to Publix. Everyone raves about the fried chicken at Publix, but their pre-made sandwiches in the deli area are not to be missed! The Italian on cuban bread is my all-time-fave. I realize its a good thing they post nutrition facts on their labels, but ... when I'm about to chow down on my sandwich I don't want to be reminded of how excessive the calories are with the Italian. (Its like the turkey wraps are taunting me!) Recently I discovered their cook-in-bag-dinner selections in the seafood department. I went with the Caribbean mango shrimp with couscous and it was fantastic! Very fresh flavors and insanely easy to prepare. Seriously, the most difficult part of preparing this meal is preheating your oven. The prices at Publix are fairly comparable to nearby stores. The store itself is clean, well stocked and staffed by very, very friendly people. I am always greeted with a smile and general how-is-your-day conversation. And, of course, if you have any questions or need assistance, there is always someone there to help. I LOVE Publix stores! But my experience at this one wasn't the 5 star adventure I was hoping. The overall store seems small but maybe it's just the odd way it's shaped? The parking lot is very confusing and the spots seem quite small. Usually this isn't a problem in my crossover SUV (read: modern day hatchback) but I had to vehicle swap with my husband that day so navigating a truck I'm not used to driving made it all the more irritating. The store inside is clean but, again, strangely designed. One of the things I love about the Publix chain is that your shopping experience is usually pretty reliable. The staff are all exceptionally nice and friendly... at least at all the other locations I've visited (across 3 states!) except for this particular location. At first I thought it was just my personal check-out clerk who may have been having a bad day - a big part of my job is customer service so I can see how a bad customer interaction can really drag you down. But then I looked around and observed other interactions between staff and customer and realized that my experience was more of the norm. And lastly, the thing that dropped this from a 4 star review to a 3 star review is my actual order! The only reason I stopped into this location was because it is a tiny bit closer to my office than the other Publix in Mount Pleasant. I went online in the morning to order my sandwich. I triple checked that all of my preferences were correct - a half size Italian sandwich on 5 grain bread, hot, with a handful of specific veggies and oil and vinegar on the side. I arrive to a full size Italian (and yes, I was charged for a full size), COLD, on 5 grain bread, with the correct vegetables but it was already slathered with oil and vinegar. I'm sure anyone who has wrestled with the little packets may be wondering why it's an irritation but it's because I'm not eating my sandwich immediately - especially when it's twice the size I ordered! So if they've already slathered it in oil and vinegar, unless I eat it NOW, the sandwich is just going to get more and more soggy thus ruining my lunch experience. And I really have to stress, THE ONLY REASON I went to this location was because I was craving this specific Publix sandwich so this complaint is, admittedly, a "you had ONE job" sort of thing. Some people may consider this nit picky but one of the supposed advantages to ordering online is that your order is written out plainly for the person who is putting your order together to see. There's no confusion or back and forth when someone is in front of you and you may not be able to hear them or understand what they're saying... it's printed out legibly! For you to cross reference in case you get confused! I wanted to stay behind and talk to whoever was at the Deli Counter but they were helping another customer. The whole parking lot fiasco meant that my schedule for this adventure was running more tightly than anticipated so I didn't have the time to wait around for them to help the few people already waiting there for assistance. Overall, I think I'll be sticking to the other Mount Pleasant location when the mood strikes me for anything from specifically Publix. read more

After living in Mt. Pleasant for over ten years it goes without saying that Publix became my go-to grocery stop. While Queensboro was my favorite location, mostly because of the butcher counter, I am always happy to have a chance to shop the bogos and browse the fresh produce in any Publix location. Since recently moving to Park Circle, I've been forced to discover other chains. While I've been surprised to find other grocery stores acceptable, none holds a candle to the always enjoyable experience at Publix. Most recently while shopping for the perfect birthday dinner surprise for my daughter, I found my favorite NY strip steaks at a record low per pound price at the Coleman Street location and this really made my day. My favorite Queensboro location had a rather disappointing selection on the very first day of the ad. Six beautifully cut and mildly marbeled strips for less than $30. They were tender and delicious as always. While I'm happy to know there are other stores that will get me through the week, it is always a pleasure to have a chance to stop at any Publix and be guaranteed exceptional customer service and great bogo deals. read more

So stoked to be back at Publix! I use to live in Florida and this is by far my favorite store for shopping. Just everything this store is about with friendly amazing customer service and freshness. On walking in it was super cold felt great with how hot it was outside. The first place I ran to was the bakery and man what a let down because this baked good here sucked. There was not a big selection and no wow factor. I'm a lover of publix and think there baked good department is by far there best feature. But this one lacks heavy in that area. Overall everything else was pretty normal from store to store from what you would get so no complaining there. Great deals great employees and super clean. I'll definitely be stopping around to other Publix while I'm in town cause I love them. This store is just not what I'm looking for sadly. read more

After using the other supermarket down the street I was used to ringing out my own items and bagging them myself. Popped into PUBLIX and was blown away by the service. Not only did I get better deals but a person unloaded my cart onto the belt, my items were bagged and I was almost speechless as the bagger began pushing my cart outside. It took me three different phone calls on three different days to even get a bakery worker that could take my bakery order. The lady I finally got was really rude, and zero help. She tried to charge me well over $100 for a cake listed on their website as $70, and I know she was wrong because when I contacted my local Publix they said the $70 price was correct. I don't think I've ever had a bad pub sub, until I came to this Publix. Seriously, this is the reason I started an account - just so I could give this Publix deli one star. The lady working the deli threw out like 5 loaves of bread until she was able to cut one right. It took 20 minutes to make two subs. Then she gave each of our subs the tiniest amount of meat I've ever witnessed in a pub sub. Personally, I love the subs at Publix normally, so I know this was just a bad location. But my gf has never had a pub sub before and has now sworn off of them due to the one she had. read more

My favorite place to shop! The store on Ben Sawyer Blvd. is our regular stop several times a week for a great selection of foods, deli meats, produce, and more. We use the Publix Pharmacy for all of our prescriptions. The staff is always ready to greet you and direct you to anything you need. I'm standing in checkout line now. You will wait awhile here. I dislike this store, but the grocery business is very competitive and stores near me are closing left and right. The employees are very friendly, but the store is crowded, poorly lit and pricey. The worst part of the store isn't their fault - it's the customers. I've never been around more obnoxious self absorbed people. I just listened to a man chew out the baker because his cake didn't have a "high enough profile." There are endless mothers with awful children who just block the aisle while they wonder off and leave their kids causing mayhem. It's like coming to hell. read more

This Publix is always so bright and clean. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The people who work at the deli are so friendly and always let you have a sample. The guys who work in the butcher area are so friendly too. They are always available to answer questions. Every time I go in this store someone always takes a second to ask if I need help finding anything. I really enjoy shopping at this Publix!
