I love Publix but they can be expensive sometimes. The locations pretty much carry the same things which is good because I know that there are certain things that I will always be able to find which is very helpful. I like to shop for the buy one get one every once in a while but when I go there for something, I just so happen to always get some stuff that is on the buy one get one sale. It is very easy to get carried away when they have the sales because they usually put out pretty good items. It is usually always very well organized. I think out of like the 20 that I have been to, maybe one was not as well kept as the others. The stores are usually pretty clean and the bright lights keep everything looking cleaner. Our go to store is Publix, but I have to give this one a two and this is why... This store is the closest one to our house, but we avoid it unless we have no choice. We usually drive to the one fifteen minutes away and for good reason. This is the board of health's dream spot. To be clear, I am talking about prepared food, the deli counter, fish, and meat. We've lost track of the amount of times that we watched an employee pause in what they were doing to touch their hair, pick something from their teeth, pick their nose, cough into their gloved hand, and wipe their nose on the back of their gloved hand before going back to serving customers. We've seen the hot food employees grab the trash, grab trash off the floor, use cleaner, etc. and then immediately touch the food. No hesitation, no stopping by the sink to wash their hands, and no wasting time. We've seen employees playing with trash, mop, sweep, etc. with gloves on, see a a customer, squirt hand sanitizer in their gloved-hands and clean the gloves with the hand sanitizer before touching the food. That's not how that works. Not at all. We've watched employees making sandwiches lean over and rest their chests on the actual sandwich, scratch their armpits with their gloved hands, sneeze into their gloved hands, wipe their noses into tissues with their gloves on, come out of the bathroom with gloves on, etc. We had one employee lick his gloved fingertips to open a bag, lick his fingers again, etc. When I pointed out that he might not want to do that, he told me that it was safe because he was wearing gloves. The last straw, and the thing that has been burned into my memory forever, was watching a deli worker pull his apron up, pull his waistband away from his body and reach down to aggressively scratch himself, shift his stance, scratch again, release the waistband so that it snapped back into place before allowing the apron to drop back into place as well, sniffed his gloved fingers, and then repeated back our order to us. We managed a horrified murmured, "We changed our minds," somehow confusing him before we made a run for it. Yes, we did talk to the manager about a few of these. I don't know if the employees here are not being shown basic training manuals or this is a hiring preference, but this is literally the only Publix store that we've ever encountered this at. Let me be clear, when we have to go here, we avoid anything the employees could have made, packaged, etc. And yes, I am a germaphobe and get grossed out easily, but I am pretty sure that anyone else would have issues with this. read more

This one has the same selection of food, with a couple different items (grabbed me a bag of chips I'd never seen), the service is as friendly as any other Publix, and the ambiance is just a grocery store. Happened to pop into this location as I was in need of a new SunPass for my SUV. The unfortunately were sold out of them, but we were able to grab a snack for the road while we were here anyways. The location was clean and well organized. They have some self-service checkouts and of course, regular checkouts if you prefer. I stopped at the guest service area to ask about the SunPasses and the associate was very helpful and did their best to find one for me. Overall: A Great staff and clean location. read more

Clean, set up with a lot of protective glass for the Covid. This place I always busy everytime I come through here locked down or not. It's a bit more cluttered to the right side with their products than other stores and their deli and bakery seem to get the most business. Especially when the sales for chicken tender sandwiches happen. You can tell the staff works hard in that section of the store. The display cases are clean and everything from the knives to cutting board are kept as clean as possible with the many orders going through there. I'm being particular about this section because of the high traffic and readily available food to take home. Cashiers don't seem to make as much an effort to wipe down the keypads of the credit card setup so I would recommend bringing a glove or prepare to hand sanitize immediately after you are complete with your transaction. That is where the safety fails. Protective glass is present for your protection but it doesn't seem to be wiped down as often as one would expect. The rest of this store is fairly organized, fresh produce and fresh meat cuts. I did not get a chance to see if they provide knife sharpening service although I doubt that with this pandemic. Get in, get out when coming here to get your foods. read more

I am definitely closer to the Publix on Dean and University, but pass it every Saturday on my way to THIS Publix. It is bigger, cleaner, and more welcoming than any other Publix that I have been to. The selection of Green Wise and organic, vegetarian, and vegan products is larger than other Publixes in the area. I have never had a poor customer service experience shopping there. The service in the bakery, deli, and seafood sections is always memorable. They are just SO nice! My daughter loves them (the free cookie and balloons help), and so do I. read more

Shout out to the awesome sushi guy who is consistently making quality tasty fresh sushi for our enjoyment!! Ran in to Publix today wanted to pick up a quick lunch and was greeted at the sushi station with a friendly smile and a helpful attitude. They didnt have my favorite Ahi tuna cream cheese roll but he offered to make it for me! Now that is customer service and the sushi is good to add too! This Publix is brand new right off the 417 on Aloma. They keep the store very clean so far and it is laid out very nice. All of the Organic foods are placed in their appropriate place on the shelves and not off to the side like I have seen at other stores. Nice new Publix Liquor located in the Clayton's Crossing plaza, next to the Publix. If I had one wish, Publix would install automatic doors to all of their liquor stores, so those of us with carts full of groceries could easily get in and out. Manual door + cart of groceries = Not fun. That said, the store is well stocked and the staff is nice and very helpful. (Even getting the door, when there isn't a line of customers) Well stocked with regular and sale items. read more

It's a very commercial appeal with a down home feel to it. I come here very often and I can't say enough GREAT things about the staff. ALWAYS friendly, helpful and they don't ever make me feel like I'm an inconvenience when I ask a question or ask for help. Customer Service is their high point here and their food choices are a close second. They carry quality foods and most of all, it's clean. Other Publix are great, but this one by far is the BEST. I'm pretty much an equal distance from this Publix and the one on the corner of Dean and University, but never even consider the other with this brand new one so close. Always kept very clean and have a very organized layout. They have a larger selection of produce and everything is always kept well stocked and organized. Employees are great as well, always a pleasant shopping experience. I'm a huge fan of Publix grocery stores and love that they have a liquor store close to my new apartment. Publix offers great prices on their groceries and their liquor store is no exception to that rule. However, if you have a favorite, you might want to watch the ads because premium brands do tend to be marked up a little higher than their competitors. For example, when I stopped in to get a bottle of McCallan 12, the price was $57.99. I've seen it lower at Total Wine and occasionally at ABC. This is the least expensive McCallan, but not a bargain basement scotch by any means. They did have a Robert Mondavi Pinot Grigio in the chilled section on sale for $8.49 which made for a great quick grab. I'd say this is a great spot for a bargain if you follow the store ads, and in general much cheaper than the other mom and pop liquor stores in the neighborhood, but for larger purchases like party prep, I'll stick with Total Wine. It's also important to note that parking is always an issue with this shopping center, so be prepared to drive around for a bit or take a short hike if you're coming in the plaza just for this shop. read more

I used Publix to get a cake for my May 2012 wedding in Orlando, FL. I was so happy with the inexpensive and quality cake that they made for us! We had a three tier cake with flowers in icing (no extra charge for the icing flowers specifically). Each tier was a different flavor. I think we ended up doing three different tastings with Publix and they always were great! It was no hassle and they send you away with a box of little pieces of cake of your choice to try, no more questions asked. I felt no pressure and was surprised at the awesome service when I was only just interested! They delivered to my venue for only $30 and were very professional. They explained everything to us and allowed us to make great decisions - it went very smoothly. read more

Stopped thru my favorite store this morning after an appt got canceled. I been wanting juice for days now. Lately I've just been chugging water. Anyway we stopped through about 10:30 AM and it wasn't busy at all. It was probably one of the rare times that I have been to Publix so early so I wasn't used to seeing the guy cutting the fruit and all that. It was so many employees out and they were busy doing something. That's what I want to see. We grabbed what we needed, without a problem and proceeded to check out. It was busy so I'm guessing that why they only had about two or three lanes open. It was cool because it wasn't a long wait at all. Maybe one or two people in each line with not too much stuff. I have always loved this Publix. Whether running in for something quick and last minute, or strolling through with a full cart, they are always top notch. If I ask for an item that I can't find, they will take me to it. I have on occasion picked up one BOGO and they stated I forgot the other and someone quickly ran to get it. The pulix grocery chain has to be the best in the nation. I just went to this one grabbed a couple of things including Claritin for my wife which cost about $25. The cashier pulled out a folder on her own and says I think I have a coupon for that. She pulled out a coupon and I saved $4. She was so friendly. This is a clean and extremely friendly Publix. The employees always are attentive and would go out of their way at a moments notice to help the customer. Today alone, I needed paper bags for a siblings school project, and within seconds of walking in the door a lady greeted me and got me the paper bags immediately free of charge. Literally, seconds. I am giving five stars on the staff itself because they definitely deserve it. To add to this, the selection is large and varied, with great deals weekly. This store is always very clean and the associates are always so friendly. This past trip in this store I asked a gentleman if he had an item and I saw him digging through the freezer looking for it. And then in my way out I saw one of the associates on his hands and knees searching an elderly lady's car for something because she couldn't bend down. I have shopped this Publix for years. But ever since they did a remodel it has gone downhill. Produce is always iffy. Slimy bagged salads, bruised and rotten apples, moldy onions and potatoes are a constant. The bakery "ladies" aren't very "user friendly" - they talked my husband out of a birthday cake with whipped cream frosting - because butter cream is easier for them... the cake was for me and I hate butter cream. Last week my son and I walked around the whole store looking for an item, passing a manager stocking dairy 3 times. He NEVER asked us if we needed help! (like they say in their commercials). This is a shame as this was one of the nicest Publix in the area with the best customer service. I'll be shopping elsewhere. read more

Hip hip horaay for this Publix!! Located on the corner of Aloma and Clayton Crossing Way, it is a very convenient location to my house and thus my primary Publix. I honestly do not believe I've ever had a bad Publix shopping experience, but I would absolutely give this store the full 5 stars! The employees are very helpful and personable when you go to check out your items. Also, I've called ahead to check if the deli prepared one of my favorite salads (Turkey Cobb) and the person over the phone told me that they could make one for me even though it was not one of the salads being prepared that day! I've also gone to purchase shrimp and was looking for a particular kind without the tails. The employee at the seafood counter came out to help me look and then offered to cut the tails off the shrimp in the cooler so that I could have what I needed.
