You might think there is nothing exciting about a Publix, but this one has a freaking boot in the parking lot! And it's a cowboy boot. Therefore, it's like going to Texas in Florida, which might not qualify as exciting, but it's unique. This place is clean and full of products (obviously). The employees are friendly as well. Pleasant personnel from beginning to end! If you can't find something, ask, and you'll be lead to your item. If you don't know a price, ask, and see it displayed on an app on a smartphone. If an item is out of stock, get a rain check, or ask to be notified when it comes in. Be sure to check out the sale and clearance items by the bathrooms and dairy case. I love the BOGOs which constantly save me money. The prices are competitive especially since it is so close to a Walmart & Target. This is one of the biggest Publix' I've ever been too. Formerly an Albertsons, the Publix store fits in just fine. They've got EVERYTHING. I came here on a Saturday afternoon to pick up a Fried Chicken dinner, and got the last one in the case, given the heat coming off the food, it hadn't been waiting long either. I did a bit more shopping and even though the store is large, the layout is consumer friendly. The store employees are friendly, as most Publix associates are. read more

Just got a Hawaiian poke bowl Salmon sushi bowl & must of been at the bottom because it has frost bitten on it. Some of it was un-eatable. Been to this Publix many times in the past & have purchased sushi from them. Sale date was for today, must of been located at the bottom of the refrigerator or they froze it. This Publix is one of the best I've been to. Their decor is always aligned with the seasons and holidays. Just to drive that point home, go check it out around Halloween. This year they erected a giant "tree" right at the entrance of the produce section surrounded by a plentiful pumpkin patch(and let me tell you, some of those pumpkins were HUGE!). Aside from their visual appeal, this Publix also packs a punch with their customer service. These people really want to be here! The individual departments are happy to help, consistently keeping their goods stocked, and the cashiers are just as pleasantly dispositioned on your way through the check out line. All around, the Boot Ranch Publix is the place to go if you are looking for quality groceries and service. Pros: Fresh fried chicken, the friendly cashiers who always make it a point to make small talk, the bakery clerks who never get an attitude when my son asks for a cookie Cons: Outside of the store it's like motor derby. It's a very congested parking lot and the drivers are pretty aggressive as a result. I don't feel very safe. I don't blame this on the store but it takes away from the appeal just a little. read more

This Publix has in store made burger patties made with brisket (the key ingredient) Kobe beef and black Angus beef. There are in the display case in the meat dept. They are the best tasting burgers I have ever had, everyone of my guests rave about them whenever I make them on my "real" charcoal grill. Other store on race track road doesn't have them. Also, every department in the store is excellent, I only shop here. read more

Not all Publix are created equal. And this one at Boot Ranch Plaza is top of the line. A very organized store equipped with efficient staffs, who are always pleased to help, keeps loyal customers like me coming back. This Publix has been my go-to-grocery store for the last 4 years, and I feel lucky to have it nearby. What impressed me the most is their management team. They make the store tick. I often see manager and assistants working along with their staffs, making sure no rotted vegetable sitting on shelves or items tout of stocks. Staffs do their job well and always happy to assist their customers. Publix offers jobs to the disabled individuals. They work at the check out and help carry bags for customers. They maybe slow, but they get their job done. The lower staff turn over rate at this Publix is an good indicator to assess how they run the business. There are many sales going on every day. The discount rate are impressive, ten percent are the minimum. Since I shop fresh vegetable everyday (it is a Chinese thing), I have saved good money by buying fresh food at discount price. Weekend has less sales items, but Tuesday and Thursday are the best day to go for discount items. Furthermore, Walmart neighbor market cross the street will open for business very soon. Publix are very good at cutting their price to compete with competitors. They did it well couple years ago to Sweetbay supermarket. Save money is a good thing. Make sure you buy some fresh made sushi rolls when you are there. That sweet Asian staff makes awesome sushi roll. Although his sushi looks similar to those at other Publix locations, but he does right making the sushi rice, which is the main ingredients of any sushi. The firmness of the rice, the amount of sweetened vinegar are keys to flavor and balance the rolls. I only give 4 star because I haven't win any lottery at this Publix. Oh well, I guess I can't get it all. read more

Publix is an excellent supermarket, but their fruit department is an abomination I just moved here 2 weeks ago and have thrown away 2 strawberry and 1 blueberry container after 1 day in the fridge. Their fruit goes bad so quickly. I'm just so tired of throwing away money. Also it's hit or miss with the raspberries. Their bananas and apples are fine. This Publix store is one of my two go-to grocers since moving to North Pinellas. This is one of their large store locations, so inventory is very complete. The service here has always been excellent, with the folks working the aisles always willing to take you directly to what you're looking for instead of the usual "aisle 11" answers you get at most other grocers. And as usual for most Publix, their deli serves up great subs with Boars Head choices available. While there are better butcher and seafood selections at some of the small specialty grocers in the area, Publix always seems to deliver the right mix of quality, selection, service and value for most of my needs. read more

This is the first time I have bought a pre cooked Turkey. This order was from Publix. I preheated it for 2hours (11lb) Butterball. It was moist and delicious. The Publix brand cranberry sauce was spot on. My only complaint is the "turkey" gravy. It's a thick, brown gooey sauce. It is devoid of flavor and has no relationship to turkey gravy. It's the worst I have ever tasted anywhere. To save the meal I took the juices from the preheated turkey after two hours in the oven. I mixed a cup of chicken broth with a tablespoon of corn starch to thicken the gravy. Then I added a half teaspoon full of sage, a dash of pepper and salt. That's as close as I came to realize turkey gravy. If I hadn't had the juices from the turkey the supposed gravy would have ruined the entire meal for everyone. I know Publix strives to attain high quality as a standard. As a long time customer of Publix and in this day and age of culinary enlightenment I sincerely hope their gravy recipe can be reworked. read more

I LOVE MY PUBLIX STORE! Yes I say "my" because I feel like they know me and when they smile or greet me it's as if they do. Maybe they really do since I kinda live there with two growing boys to feed! There isn't one thing about this store that I don't like. Let's start with the produce: It's always fresh, green, no rotten veggies or fruit, no out if dates produce or products. Fresh and clean! Fresh Bread: Oh my if you go early enough you can smell the delicious bread that was baked that morning. The bread is never stale, never left over and always very good. Deli: The actual deli staff has always been so friendly and eager to help. I've never had any issues and their sandwiches are incredible! Meat&Fish: FRESH FRESH FRESH!!! Honestly I've never seen out to date, brown or odorous meats or fish. The staff in the butcher area are nice and will cut anything you like or make things like meatballs for you. Just ask! The rest of the store is well organized and easy to shop in. Dairy: always well stocked! Never over due items and they are always restocking. They have some awesome BOGO deals!!! I love my PUBLIX! This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at Publix. My best friend, who is suffering from skin cancer asked me to return 2 bottles of olive oil she had purchased with her EBT (because she is no longer able to make it out to the store). She had purchased 6 bottles to make soap for a fundraiser to help pay her medical bills. This was extra, and I was happy to help my friend out. Upon arriving to this Publix WITH the receipt the cashier said he needed a managers approval. Christopher came over and was about to complete the transaction until he read the receipt at the end. He asked loudly if I had my ebt card. I told him I didn't and before I could explain the situation, he denied me and said legally he can't do anything. I asked if he could issue a store credit and he denied me. I accepted his little man power and continued shopping. Then it dawned on me, I can return tomorrow with NO receipt and get store credit issued. I went back to Christopher and explained this. He turned red and said he was going to put me on a "black list" so that can't happen. (What's to stop me from going to a different Publix?) Christopher feels some type of way about ebt customers. His lack of compassion, short attitude, and lack of resolution was beyond evident and completely unnecessary. NEVER had I experienced this subpar customer service in 20+ years of food shopping. He made it a point to appear in certain isles as I continued to shop. After I checked out, he ran to the cashier and asked her loudly how I paid (cash-exact change). I found this gesture to be disgusting and a form of harassment. Not sure why he needed to know how I paid? I'm a business owner myself and proudly obtained a doctorates degree last year. I suggest you enlighten Christopher on customer sensitivity and retrain him in customer service skills, because this experience was MORTIFYING. Little man syndrome at its finest. read more

In general, Publix never lets me down. I really like this location at Boot Ranch though! The layout is spacious and the shelves are always stocked well/organized. The staff is always asking me if there is anything they can help me find, and I love that if a BOGO isn't available on the shelves, I can get a rain check...and if there is an item they don't carry you just need to ask and they'll order it special for you! read more

Very well maintained store with a staff that will go out of their way for you to ensure you get what you need. Store is well stocked and if they don't have it then they will order it for you. Parking lot is the only real issue I have with this store as it can be a pain to find a spot. They also have good deals on food with weekly bogo deals and discounts. read more

You call the pharmacy to have a script filled before you leave the house then arrive an hour later at the store and waste 30 minutes of your life EVERY SINGLE TIME because they didn't prepare the medications. So if you like wandering the store wasting time and buying Oreos then fill your prescriptions here. Rest of the store is great. read more

Shopping here is an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE!! Everyone working there is very friendly and helpful and I never leave unsatisfied. Every time I need help, it is never too far away and they go above and beyond to ensure that I get everything I need. I'm moving, and needed lots of boxes to get things done. I called up the produce department and they happily set aside some boxes for me without making me feel like a burden. we were just checking out at this publix and i was having a very pleasant experience until i checked out. we got to the checkout and "Meaghan" started yelling to other cashiers to get people to open cash registers as we was checking out as if we were inconveniencing her for being a customer. then she proceeded to be in terrible mood checking us out and was just blatantly tossing our groceries, including the soda thats probably going to explode now. terrible experience. read more

This review is to say that enough is enough, this particular location has excellent service, excellent facility, as I shop here 2-3 times a week, but the store prices have finally crossed the line of appropriate. The cost of this particular Publix has been creeping up over the last couple years and has finally reached the point where I am over Publix as a company. All I can say is that it will not be long until the Wal-Mart grocery center will be open across the street from them and if they are half as good, service wise, and what I have grown to expect, product prices wise, I will never have to use Publix again. I know there are the anti Wal-Mart people out there who love to pay 10.99 for steak and consider that some type of wonderful sale price, but I am over it. I think the final straw was talking to my mom in Atlanta today telling me about the 5.99 lb salmon special Kroger was running near her home and looking here and seeing that 10.99 Publix price point.
