I was in Dville for the day so of course u needed to do a Publix and Kroger run. Nope you can't get the same things at one store. I run to Publix for the deals. BUY 1 get 1 free has always been a favorite. I don't have to buy both if I don't want to. This location is a nice size and up to large with the rest of their locations. Everything was nice and orderly, fully stocked shelved and of course nice employees. I had to go to customer service for a raincheck in Persil. No problem. I wanted a raincheck on Prego Cooking Sauces but a clerk was nice enough to find some for me. My only issue was the cashier. I had a few coupons. He was holding up the line because he was trying to scan each coupon after the item. Smh. This was annoying and drew attention to me that I did not want. Hopefully he won't do that to another shopper. All in all the store was in point.

The first encounter was great. My doctor called in the antibiotics and within a few hours, I was picking up my antibiotic and it was free. I was impressed... and then... I had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic and called the pharmacist...while I was on hold waiting for her to pick up the transfer call, she may have accidentally pushed the hold button and I heard her speaking ... only she wasn't speaking to me... she must've been talking to a colleague and the conversation I overheard... let's just say was not something you should hear in a place of business... there was attitude, cussing, and ugh. Anyways, she later on may have realized this or whoever was in charge of putting people on hold, and she proceeded to pick up the phone and actually talk to me... I told them what happened and asked her if she has any suggestion since it was a Sunday and the the doctor's office is closed. This is my first time ever experiencing this, so I called the Pharmacist as it was instructed on the medicine packet it came with... It said to call the Pharmacist if I have any questions about the medicine ... SO I asked her, based on her knowledge, if what I was experiencing is in fact a serious side effect/ simple allergic reaction or am I just over reacting... she then responded with a very unsure " i PROBABLY WOULD stop. IM NOT SURE, but if I were you, I MAYBE will not take anymore until I talk to the dr. What it SOUNDS LIKE is that you MAYBE are having a reaction, and i THINK, you COULD BE allergic but IM NOT SURE." What a waste of my time! I have already done all that guessing, and I didn't need to hear it from someone else who was even more unsure of myself! I understand that no one can possibly know and be an expert of every single drug and its side effects, but the fact that this pharmacist did not even stop for at least 30 seconds to really think about it, and if she was not sure she could have put me on hold and researched or look it up, or some other effort so that she can have a better answer... I know she was not that busy since she had enough time earlier to have that painful-to-hear conversation, and even if she is, she could've explained such and tell me that it may take a little while to get an answer or she may have to call me back etc... there could've been so much more done... but instead, a few guesses and a suggestion to call the doctor... I felt like I just called a 1-800 number and this pharmacist had a talk time she had to meet. She just couldn't wait to get me off the phone. I do give another star to this place since she did instruct me to call my doctor and advised me that there should be an on-call doctor and request for a call back...and I am very grateful of this advice. However, I am a bit weary to work with a business who hires people who are not confident or truly committed to their line of expertise.

    Chicken wings from the Deli.

These are hands-down the best chicken wings I've ever eaten. In my opinion, Buffalo Wild Wings, Pizza Hut, Wing Zone, or Hooters doesn't hold a candle to these. All the chicken is tender and comes right off the bone and the sauces pack a delightful flavor. The only place I can think of that comes close to these wings is Mr. PJ's.

I love Publix! The subs in the deli are the best. They already have good sales and great coupon policy.

Certainly give them a try. The staff for the most part leave you alone which I am fine with, just when I need something please make sure there is someone to ask for help.

I have been shopping at the Aldi's in Douglasville since it opened. They recently (last year?)…read moreincreased the size of the store, so it looks like I am not the only one. :) What do I love about Aldi? 1. There are very few aisles because there are not so many choices of brands. Let's face it, who needs 20 brands of the same bean? or the same pasta? or milk, or butter or meat or fish or frozen everything! 2. The low prices are a good reason to shop all by itself. Those low prices are due, in part, to asking the customers to take care of their shopping carts instead of hiring someone to round them up all day long. (This also keeps the carts from taking parking spots.) The quarters we have to use to get a cart is just a way to thank us for a job well done. :0 3. The products they carry are very good quality. Like the German Soups (the Bean is to die for). Like the Whipped Cream. Like the Dog Treats (no I don't eat those.) Like the "Surprise Aisle" where there are non food (mostly) items replaced every week. (I have bought knives, bird feeder, drawer separators, porch sliding bench, etc. It is fun to see what is offered and also how much stuff I don't use that someone else must care about. ) I do still shop at the box stores for certain items that I'm addicted to. (like cereals, pickles, activia, rotisory chickens, coffee (they got rid of organic in strong coffee; peanuts, ice cream, chips, Tea). But I usually shop here first and then go to the other store for what I cannot find at Aldi's. 4. The parking lot is small so it is every easy to get the groceries to the car and into the street. 5. The staff are so friendly and so knowledgeable. They don't sit around and wait for another customer to come to the register because there are shelves to stock. 6. The men's bathrooms are always spotless. Says alot about anywhere I go. (yes, pun intended) :) 7. I even like bagging my own groceries. a: I use Aldi's inexpensive bags. I get to cut down on throwaway bags and so does everyone else. b: I can organize the bags according to how I will put away the groceries. (Refrigerator, Freezer, Cupboard, Paper Goods, Cleaning Products, etc.) c: I can bag faster than any paid employee can. d. It speeds up the line tremendously, as the checker simply puts the items in my basket. e. What's not to like? 8. Aldi's also has an island consisting of several freezers that hold "new" products. This is one of the fun things about shopping here. "What's behind freezer number 2?" My inner child loves to try and figure out what in the freezers I might like. For example I just brought home an veggie pizza to die for. And I was born in Naples, Italy, the birthplace of the Pizza! I also went to Aldi's website and raved about it and asked that they put it in the "regular" freezer. Another example was the Belgium waffles I bought on a whim. My wife and I loved them. Just stick them in the toaster. Put on a plate. I added whipped cream on top. My wife likes maple syrup.

The cashier had bumped her phone or something and I think it might have broke her case. So for a few minutes, she talked about that while I said they're waiting to be rung up and acknowledged. Finally the lady at the register next to her said hey, you have a customer waiting on you, which was me standing there just waiting to be acknowledged. And she kept talking, the guy that was bagging the groceries seem to be a manager and they were just both talking about her, breaking her phone case or whatever. I spoke to her because it did not seem like she was going to speak to me which she still didn't. So she rang me up And didn't tell me what my total was just stood there, so I looked at the screen to see what my total was and checked out. No one said thank you. No one was nice. Customer service was awful. This is not a grocery store that I frequent often but it is on my way home and not far from my house so I will stop in to get things periodically. but the customer service is never really that great.
