Dee, she is one of the best employees I've interacted with at almost any Publix from here to Florida (her coworker, a younger guy with a lot of hair working 11/18/2024 4pm ish was exceptional as well) was over and beyond on her customer service, very customer driven, kept a smile and never made me feel like my request was too much!!! We were admiring a green resin bowl and decided we didn't need to spend $30 on a bowl at the gas station. At the last minute, we said, what the hell, we're on vacation, let's get it. As I scanned it at the self checkout, I saw that it came up as $130... which had to be a mistake RIght?!? When we double checked we noticed that the 1 in the 130 was written in by hand. I went to the store this afternoon at 1 PM. The event was advertised to run on September 19 (today) between the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM. I did some shopping at the butcher counter and was reminded of this event by and large sign in the store and a card on top of all the checkouts. I go back to look for where this event was taking place and I couldn't find it. I asked the people at the deli and cheese counter who said they didn't know anything about it. They offered to get me the manager, Joe, who came out and said he didn't know anything about it either. This is peculiar because there were signs in his store advertising it. His excuse was"I only came in at 12:30 I-don't know what the other manager did." He offered me a tasting of the parmigiano Reggiano. The sign in the store and in the email listed a variety of products to taste with a 10% discount to loyalty members. I would have loved to taste the.2 Leaf balsamic vinegar, Asturi Bruschettini, rosemary olive oil, Alesia thin breadsticks, Italian lime or raspberry, ginger, sparkling water, Veroni Prosciutto Italiano, and Matilde Vincenzi chocolate cookies. But I was only offered a taste of the parmigiano. There was no display of these wonderful Italian products and because I couldn't taste them. I will never know if they would have offered me that 10% discount. I love Italian products and I most likely would have bought some and have continued returning to fresh market to buy them if I liked them. This event, According to the advertisement in the store was cosponsored by various Italian trade associations. I'm sure it was also sponsored by the manufacturers of the products that I never had an opportunity to taste. I wonder if they realize their reputations were damaged by this store NO HOLDING THE EVENT.? Joe's explanation, that he didn't know what the other manager who presumably went home at 12:30 did is insufficient. If there was an event started at 10 why would it have ended at 12:30 and not go on till 2 PM? Why didn't Joe remedy the situation when he arrived at 12:30? The fact that the people behind the deli and cheese counters knew nothing of the event, despite having a sign in their area advertising, it tells me nothing was done at this store. Corporate management needs to take a look at this store and assess what their local store managers are doing and make the appropriate changes.

They have a ton of variety and will prep fillets or cut the fish in any practical way you can come up with. And service is top notch across the store and especially in the fish market. The best part about the store is the small café adjacent to the seafood market that serves Boba crispy pork belly and crispy duck! I just recently relocated to Savannah and was disappointed to find a lack of Boba shops in the area, so I'm definitely excited about finding this one. We will definitely be frequenting this store for a lot of our fresh produce fresh, fish, and our Boba fix.

The only thing that is a bit concerning for me, is the coffee shop area is right next to the seafood area and the seafood smells are very very strong at times. At times making it a little intimidating when wanting to purchase fresh coffee or food items right next-door at the coffee shop. But overall, I think it's a really great market. Sometimes the customer service can be a little scarce, I'm not sure if this is because there's somewhat of a language barrier at times depending on the available employees; as they are not always the friendliest. The prices are very reasonable. I generally have no problems finding a parking space and I am able to get in and out within a few minutes.

Most of the time I use them to swap out my propane tanks and they are my go-to spot for collard greens and ham hocks, turkey necks, and any other "soup bones" you may need. For instance, I was looking for lemonade, and I noticed that it is carried in 3 to 4 different locations across the produce juice and deli sections. It made it extremely frustrating trying to figure out whether or not they carried Milo's lemonade, which I eventually discovered they carried every milo's product except the lemonade??? Not really sure what the rationale behind that is given the lemonade is the most popular sku in the brand. Anyway, I digress. The second thing that I find a little challenging with Publix is understanding what the actual deals are standing at shelf. I couldn't really tell what was on sale, what wasn't and what the real values were. I'm assuming this information is probably buried in a sales flyer, which I probably need to pick up the next time. That being said, I found overall service in the store to be decent but even given the number of employees walking around in the store I don't think I've was ever really been greeted or offered help without asking first.
