This is the Publix I always shop , However the management is not professional and rude! They say everything with employees starts at the top. Well the employees are rude So that say a lot about management. The managers that run around the store , all seem to be very busy doing nothing. And not friendly at all. I think it's time we start telling the truth about Publix. They have existed on an outdated reputation for long enough. If you do any traveling, you see what grocery stores have become. Even Publix knows it! In NC, Harris Teeter has forced Publix to up their game. Frys in AZ much nicer and well stocked stores. We deserve the same here in FL. I don't know what's going on with the people working there but it's not great. In Produce the guy stocking the cooler had a meltdown because I excused myself and asked if I could get some celery. And in general the produce is expensive and not that good. In the meat dept they purposefully make the ground beef packages 1.25 lbs or more (meat dept guy admitted it to me on dark rainy afternoon) not a pound that most recipes take and if you ask for a pound they give you a hard time about it "what's the problem it's close". I know small things but a trend w/ too many Publix brand products. Definitely some help from Whole Foods and Fresh Market but if they aren't nearby... read more

This is a pretty nice Publix. It's pretty similar to other Publix stores. Off busy Pasadena Ave. They have rotisserie chickens, deli sandwiches, breads, cakes, cookies, desserts, fish and meat along with the regular grocery store fare. They also have some flowers. Not as cool as a Trader Joes but it will do for your 95 year old grandmother. read more

I have to start out by saying I love Publix! I have shopped here for years and I i've come to expect a higher level of service. I have experience this to be true for most every location. However whatever also experience to be true at most a relocation is that the service deli seems to lack in prompt service at attention to the needs of their customers. I just had one such experience. I stopped in to get a quick snack and a couple of things. I think most everyone would agree Publix has a great service deli in terms of quality of food. What was disappointing about this evening, something I have experienced before, was the fact that in addition to myself or five other customers waiting at the deli counter and we were being served by just one employee. Two other employees we're cutting meats, and seem to be very consumed with the conversation between themselves were close at hand, and a couple of times the one employee making sandwiches for six customers yelled out to help her somebody in a back room who replied that they were coming. They never did. Well again I will say that I'm generally happy with the level of service and attention that I get from the bulk of the people in the store, I am often disappointed by the level of service and attention and I get at the service deli. I certainly enjoy the food, and the sandwiches are probably the best in the state, but it is unfortunate that there does not ever seem to be enough people working, and a lot of delays with ordering at the service deli. read more

Well theres always a first for everything. Let me start with I love Publix, some more than.others but this one was the worst. It reminded me of Winn Dixie (not a fan). So I had a couple things to pick up on.my way home from and this is the first time I've been in this Publix. I usually shop dt or old NE. I decided to get a sandwhich from Deli. Well I walked up and it was a mess. It was around 5:30 and only two people were working the deli, they were out of a lot of the hot items. So I ordered the turkey sandwhich special. It seems she can't find stuff. She puts down half and then another half. I pointed out it was two different types and tried to tell me it was just because one pack was the end . Nope boars head looks different than publix turkey. I like boars head because it's a little drier. She left it like that, then she couldn't find the cheese that suppose to go on the sandwhich. At this point I decided to skip the sandwhich. Next I needed 18 eggs but there were only 2 cartons left , one with crushed eggs and the with yolk all over the container. I talked with one of the managers to.tell them about my expierence and he let me know that the deli does tend to have some issue . He aploligized and gave me a 5 dollar gift card. I'm going to stick with my regular Publix. read more

Why 4 stars? Because Publix is solid again. --- --- --- Publix, or PUBIX as I like to call it (YAK YAK YAK) has this weird X-factor about it. I don't know why I like the store so much, but I always feel at home in them. I'm temporarily living in Gulfport for 3 weeks while I close on my house, and this will be the place I check into 3x a week, instead of the Seminole Heights location. This one makes me wish that the SHeights Publix would make some upgrades, but I still love it anyway. That being said, how sweet would it be to get sushi and a real meat counter in my hood? Walking through the cold New York streets, Shivering, legs churning, as I try to escape the harsh winter, I breathe and my body soaks up the icy air. It rushes to my empty stomach. I take refuge in the local bodega, and check my wallet. Three dollars cash. "Oye primo, dame un sanwish de pollo," I tell the man behind the counter. Chicken cutlet and lettuce with pepper jack cheese. Mayo, light chipotle sauce. My body should be in heaven. Instead, I'm reminded of old heartbreak. Five minutes pass, and as my dread turns to melancholy, Primo gives me my sandwich. $2.50. I get two quarters thrown back at me, as if someone gave me some charity, To offset the pain I feel. I take a bite. Flavors rush to my taste buds and I guess, it's pretty good. Nothing special. Nothing heartwarming. I feel nothing. I close my eyes. I'm sitting on a park bench in the middle of a quiet Saturday with people I've grown to love. Biting into my Publix chicken tender sandwich. I can still taste the love. I can still taste the care. The sauces, the perfectly grilled chicken. It fills me with emotion and nutrition. A singular tear forms in my eye and rolls down my left cheekbone, as I prepare to endure the cold winter air once more. It's time to go to work. read more

This is a small Publix- but conveniently located to the cities of Gulfport, Pasadena, Treasure Island, St. Petersburg, and St. Petersburg Beach. It has an attached Publix liquor, a pharmacy, bakery, and the famous Publix Deli counter. Why is the Publix Deli famous? Let me count the ways. First, and most importantly, Publix Subs- they make your sandwich to order. They have tons of options- fresh vegetables, Boars Head Meats and cheeses, and great bread. Fun Tip: Publix will let you choose any of the Boars Head Cheeses for your sub. I love to switch them around. The Deli Counter also is where you can get your fried chicken or the famous Publix Rotisserie Chicken. Publix also sells gallons of fresh ice tea- and it is delicious- it is the best store bought Ice tea you can get. Beyond that- it is an awesome grocery store. I am a huge fan of publix and do a lot of my grocery shopping here. However this is one of the slowest Pharmacy's I have been to in a while. The response you will get is they are very busy and have a lot of prescriptions at this location but that's a lousy excuse. Before moving here Kroger close to Emory hospital on Monroe in Atlanta was quick and polite. My script was called in over an hour and a half ago but they never started it. It was explained to me called in prescriptions automatically go to the next day in their computer. You have to call in and ask them to fill it. So I am taking any new prescriptions to Walmart 1 block away where they will also text you when it's ready. Other than that this location is great for everything else. I love shopping at Publix, it's by far my favorite grocery chain in Florida. Love the customer service, love the BOGOs, and love the selection of products, and this Publix is a prime example of that. The deli is spectacular- Publix subs are delicious, as is the fried chicken and macaroni salad. Bakery is always pumping out fresh bread and rolls. Produce is always fresh. I love the liquor store here at this Publix- I really wish my local store had a liquor store attached, it would save me a TON of money! This is a great store- if you live in the area, I would make it my go-to in terms of shopping for groceries. I can't believe how high the prices are at this grocery store, I will give it this.... it is a nice store and it is fairly clean but their prices are outrageously High, you can save so much money by shopping at Aldi's or Walmart or even Winn-Dixie. I went in to buy some cauliflower and brussel sprouts the non organic ones were 3.99 a piece! You can get the same product at Aldi's for 1.99 a piece at Winn-Dixie for 2.99 and at Walmart for 2.49!! Why pay the HIGH prices that Publix charges when you can get the same product at different grocery stores for way less? read more

The store is overall great. But when I crave a pub sub it always takes around 30+ minutes. Always short staffed, or you see others cleaning instead of being opened and operational. The staff is friendly however a cold sub should never take over half an hour of standing in line. I was told to order online. Pickup time was 45 minutes. Get there, and it took an additional 20 minutes. Love Publix but that is just not right. read more

Overall, I like Publix. However, this one is one of the worst that I have been to. The parking lot is always extremely crowded. The entrance to the store seems small. The aisles seem very narrow. The produce department is very congested. The produce does not last long at all. The meat department is frequently out of things on the shelves. I have had many meat items that go bad very quickly. A couple of weeks ago, I bought a gallon of milk and when I unpacked it at home, realized it was due to expire the next day. There are so many items, that I buy on a regular basis, that are out of stock, or they just stop carrying. Recently, we bought 3 premade Kobe hamburgers ($4.99 each). Less than 48 hours later, pulled them out to grill and they were discolored. My husband took them to Publix and was given a refund on a Publix giftcard. Not cash or credit card refund. Also, no additional compensation for the time and trouble to go to the store for the return, not to mention the delay in dinner. We live less than a mile from this store, and we now drive to Fresh Market on 4th to shop. I wish we had a better option closer to home. read more

I think publix is one of the nation's best grocery chains. I found items unavailable at any other store chain. Also the staff is helpful and knowageable about where items are located. They are also nice people. I especially like the two for one items. They are often items I would purchase such as the York peppermint patties or the ken's dressing. read more

The only place you should even consider for your wedding cake is Publix!! This is true for almost any baked goods, as there really is nothing better than Publix when it comes to this category. But the cake turned out absolutely perfect, and for a fraction of what it would have cost to go to an actual specialty cake store. They only required 48 hour notice, were able to create a cake to feed 120 people within that time - and it was DELICIOUS. The delivery went smooth and I can honestly say Publix made the cake the easiest part of my wedding!! read more

I was going to the Tyrone location for several months, but there's something about how that one is organized that just doesn't vibe well with me. Shop here all the time, on the last two occasions I have found the Greenwise ground beef, very suspect, the meat on top is red and looks fresh, when I open the packet and crumble the mince it's brown mince in the middle! I have heard supermarkets do this , mixing of fresh and old meat to save money. I thought Publix was above this. I have taken a picture and will take this up directly with the store. read more
