I found that perimeter shopping is actually comparable to other supermarkets. Very minimal choices in the seafood department, but the seafood salad store made is a good deal if you want to bring sandwiches to the beach The produce section is well stocked and very well priced. General groceries are expensive so choose wisely. Sometimes you can find items 2 for 1 The deli department serves Boars Head meats and cheeses. The prices aren't bad. The counter help are so good at finding exactly what you need and service is always with a smile. To the right of the deli department is a grinder station, that is always busy because there are always good deals especially if you're going to the beach. Parking is ground level and you take an elevator up to the second floor, which is where the grocery store is located, and also protected from storms! This is a great set up. Quick stop for supplies and food for our vacation rental. We stopped by tue deli for a chicken bacon ranch Pub sub, and it was delicious. Fresh bread, lots of meat and veggies piled high. Their key lime pie and carrot cake were also very tasty. The piece of carrot cake was so rich, we split it into several dessert portions. I hate this Publix they always close the deli before 9 and are always rude. No respect for people who are working and get off work and just want something to eat. I'm so disgusted with Publix prices! On top of that they quit carrying so many of the items that I use. a lot of the Vigo products and so much more. They're making so much money that one of their purchaser is buying handbags that cost more than $10,000. In addition to all that terrible stuff they give me a receipt yesterday, the cashier takes the time to circle where I can take a survey to get $1000 in groceries. Of course the survey even from their website takes you to another website that demands your phone number in order to do the survey. Who wants to give out your phone number these days as we're all getting so many scams and most have been hacked. We popped in here for a speedy mission: key lime pie. We ended up walking out with more than key lime pie but this spot was an efficient grocery store with easy parking and a simple floor plan. The produce section is quite lovely, the flowers were on the overpriced size and there is a selection of beach items at the exit like sunglasses, floaty toys and beach hats. Funny enough, we ended up deciding the Publix key lime pie was better than the one we had at the Salty Dog restaurant and half the price. Publix Treasure Island, Where Shopping is a Hassle Part of the nice thing about going to Publix stores is the hassle free service that they normally provide and the fact that while there I can pick up stamps or get change if needed while I am there. Not at this location. Even though I am a paying customer and in this store multiple times weekly, when I went there yesterday evening I asked for some quarters at the register I was told he is not allowed to do so, that I can get a roll at customer service but he could not even provide a dollar or two in change. i fininshed my purchase of about 12-15 items and went to customer dis-service to get some quarters and was told NO I can only give you $3.00. I asked in a friendly way if he could at least do $1 more as I need at least $4 to do one load of laundry. (I really needed double that at least, but at least I could do some). In a very authoritative voice he said NO! No apology, no let me see if I can assist you, just a hard no. I changed paper money for the $3 in quarters and proceeded to return my entire purchase so that I could get at least 1 or 2 quarters with the refund. Then I asked to speak with a manager and was told they are not in. I asked if he was the GM, Refional Manager or the owner as he did not seem to want me to speak with anyone and he just had a blank expression on his face. After anothe customer witnessed this and I repeated my request he finally paged a manager named Gregg. Gregg eventually came over and explained that this was correct policy and that he could not even provide another dollar in change. When I persisted and explained that I would buy all 12-15 items again on separate transactions to get change, he went somewhere for about 5 minutes and came back and had the rude customer dis-service rep give him $1 more in change. He also explained that this was a 1 time courtesy only and would never happen again, as if to tell me not to ever shop there again. JJust to see if he had stopped me from buying there I went and bought the 3 items I absolutely needed right then and paid in 2 separate transactions as the cashier would not even change $1.00. This allowed me to get an extra dollar in quarters just in case I had to shop there again and was limited to $3 again. I went to Walmart today to but the rest of my items at much lower prices. Milk, salads and eggs are at least 30% less, and they cheerfully sold me a roll of quarters. All without a hassle, so shop at Walmart where shopping is much more of a pleasure rather than paying so much extra to be treated like crap at Publix Treasure Island. read more

It is SO NICE to have Publix at Treasure Island! We have been visiting TI yearly (for 25 years!), and we have greatly appreciated this location. One of my favorite departments here is the bakery! We cannot stay the week without purchasing Breakfast Bread! And most years, the Key Lime Pie or the Tres Leches Cake is a must-have too! Of course, there is a good selection in their deli section, produce section, etc. I also appreciate that they have some nice options for fresh, take-home-and-heat-up meals. read more

This people towed my car even thou I was inside the store with both of my daughters, they said they couldn't do anything that there was no manager at the store, even when I had a receipt and I wasn't even offered some help with anything at all, also higher prices and not fresh food at all I truly don't recommend. The island Publix is a nice smaller grocery store that residents of Treasure Island, tourists and beach goers regularly use and rely on. Really good bakery, nice selection of fresh veggies and fruits, and outstanding deli. Really pretty typical Publix. Super nice employees. Very accommodating. This is a nice Publix. It's small, doesn't have the usual selection of products but has what you need. Parking can be a challenge during peak hours. Overall I like it here but all the bad reviews about the deli are pretty spot on. Deli counter really ruins my whole experience. There used to a hard working girl named Maggie who busted her butt and was friendly and even told jokes while she made your subs. Haven't seen her the last few times so I asked and she's not here any more. Probably will start going to Pasadena even though it's not close to me but I don't want to shop where I'm ignored and treated like an inconvenience while the lazy workers chat about their social life. read more

Publix advertises big about caring about is customers and following covid-19 protective guidelines, but actions speak louder than words and you only need to go to a store to see Publix does not enforce the covid-19 safety guidelines. April 25th 2020 at the deli in Treasure Island FL, the meat cutter was wearing a mask but not covering her nose. She was cutting my order when I asked her to cover her nose. She refused and quickly became belligerent about my request. So I got someone else who was properly covering their nose & mouth to take my order but starting my order over after removing the existing coldcuts. Unfortunately, they did not throw away the coldcuts from the employee ignoring my safety and those of her fellow employees. I must assume the shelved precut coldcuts are done by staff also ignoring the covid-19 safety guidelines. To top it off there is no online complaint form on the Publix website. They say to snail mail a letter. Complaints are probably the only thing that Publix does not allow online. A positive that came from covid-19 is Publix returned most of the stockers back to shifts outside normal shopping hours. Remember the days when all shelves were stocked already when walking in the store first thing in the morning. Well, Publix, Walmart, and others realized how much more money they can make by saving shift differential pay from late night stockers by having them get in the way of shoppers and stock during shopping hours instead. The hell with the customer's. The increased profits greatly outweigh the loss of customers that find it too interuptive to experience. Before covid-19, each Publix shopping visit required moving a stockers cart or boxes to find a product. Sometimes I just skip it and bought the product somewhere else. I used to shop early to avoid crowds. With the stock during shopping hours thing, there's is no good time to shop. read more

Good quality products so prices lower for generic brand. But this grocery has higher prices than most Publix, I think because it is in an expensive resort area with very high property values. I've never met a Publix that I haven't liked and this location is no exception. The location was convenient - in the center of everything. It was clean, well-stocked, featured a variety of alcoholic drinks, and even had a Redbox. Forget your beach ball? Floatation device? Beach chair or towel? They have it here! They had equal if not better variety of beach supplies than the Dollar General. My favorite was the vast selection of already, freshly prepared foods; salads, sandwiches, dips, heat and serve. Additionally they have a sub station made to order; very similar to a Subway. On the downside I did think the produce section was limited, but not by much, as well as meat and deli meats higher priced than back home but it could be because this is a resort town. My only question is - when is Publix coming to the Northeast?!? read more

I shop at Publix when I am at home, and love that it is here where I am vacationing on the beach without paying jacked up beach pricing that I have found elsewhere vacationing. It is always clean, with covered parking underneath the store with an elevator or stairs. I love their bogos every single week, and often on beer too! Worst Publix I have ever been too. Stood in line at deli and bakery for more than 30 mins with 3 small children. Employees walked by us at least 5 times without mentioning a word, when I asked how long they thought the wait would be, I received 2 rude answers From 2 different deli employees Ended up speaking to customer service and they were also NO help whatsoever, except for sending a manager Joe down to speak to me, which he was rude and definitely should not be manager as I also witnessed the way he spoke to his employees!
