Publix has been my go to grocery since I moved here 10 years ago. The store is clean, almost always well stocked with helpful staff. Southern cooking is appreciated and I can find my staples such White Lily self rising for biscuits as well as sage sausage to make the gravy that goes on the biscuits. And as far as the pharmacy- even if there weren't enough good reason to shop there the pharmacy would be my reason. You know that small percentage of patients that report side effects? That's me the statistics are talking about. The pharmacist saved my life when I called about a newly prescribed drug and how it was making me feel. It turned out to be a dangerous reaction. So when you can trust a store that meets all of your needs why go anywhere else? read more

We love Publix! The deli, produce, bakery, seafood, and butcher shops are all top notch! When I am on the road, the proportioned meals are a great alternative to eating out every night. I can't believe that I've never reviewed this Publix. Of any grocery store in the world, this one gets my five stars. Yes-their prices are higher than some of their competition. However, if, for no other reason in the world... in the weeks following April 27, 2011, the store was open, staffed, and fully stocked, and fully functional. The staff's attitude was like Disney World kind of happy. The hot food was even going and they were offering samples, genuinely wanting to help people in need. I never experienced so much joy as the walk-through, a grocery store with air conditioning, lights, and all the staples in essentials that you could dream of. A lot of infrastructure was gone in that timeframe, and I can't remember the details-only that payment wasn't an issue at Publix, either. In that time anything within 50 miles was a cash society because so much infrastructure was gone. Five Stars Publix! Modern visits have been good experiences as well. I can't afford to always shop, but it always a positive experience when I can, and you can always stop here for things that you can't seem to find in the same brand, quantity, or quality. read more

Publix continue to expand throughout the southeast, which is good news for the southeast. Publix truly set the bar for what a supermarket should and could be. They have built a great reputation on incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one get one free) deals and we cannot forget about their great subs (affectionately called Pub Subs). I also have to recommend their iced tea, the Publix brand, sold in half gallon or gallon containers. I like their diet sweet tea. I always have some in my refrigerator at home. I also recommend looking for it when it goes on a BOGO deal, which happens on a somewhat regular basis. I definitely recommend Publix, whether it be this location or any of their locations. I am beyond happy with the turnout of my daughter's cake. I was worried that they wouldn't be able to bring my vision to life but they absolutely executed it. The baker that took my order was so polite and nice. She took down all the details and took a picture of my reference photo. She was very upfront about what she could and couldn't do. Over the past several months we have brought home vegetables & fruit that literally rots within days of buying it. Today I opened shelf stable milk that is almost a year out of date that I purchased a week ago. Yes it's my responsibility to check dates but sometimes I'm in a hurry and they apparently do not rotate stock at all. The vegetables were delivered and had mold on them, we were sick & couldn't take them back. read more

Edited to add: Turns out the "manager" I spoke to when I called to ask about the issue was really just an employee pretending to be the manager. No wonder she was so rude and unhelpful. When I called back to get her name I spoke to the real manager on duty and he said he was going to check into it all and that he was the only one on duty all day. The real manager was able to refund my money over the phone. After all that, that was the resolution. Original review: Absolutely horrible customer service. I paid for steak that they neglected to bag so when I got home to cook dinner for my family I didn't have the steak I bought. When I called to ask about it they just told me to come back in to get it. No offer to make it right other than that or the offer to refund which I also would have to go back down to the store for when I live 25 minutes away. Sorry but I am not wasting an hour of my day just to come back and get something that YOU didn't bag. Time is valuable. Your mistake to solve and you did a horrible job trying to make it right. Never in my life will I come back to this Publix again. read more

Multiple times now I have found out of date stock on the shelves, rotting vegetables in the bins, non-rotated stock in the dairy section, etc. I have spoken to management three times now and one employee. In one instance I simply pulled all of the out of date salad dressing for two flavors at random and set them neatly on the floor before calling a manager. One gentleman swore he would take care of it. I offered it politely as a training issue and I was not mean in any way as I ran a business for 20 years and know how hard it is to get staff to uphold standards sometimes. He was pleasant in assuring me it would not happen again. I walk in a couple of weeks later and the SAME product was put back on the shelf. The correct response would have been to have every single worker go back and rework their sections, pulling all merchandise, and restocking in approp date order-he should have gone back and checked their work. When I find out of date dairy, I set it on the edge of the area so it can be seen and handled by the staff. Apparently, they just put it back on the shelf. I have fallen ill twice now from seemingly 'in date' product, only to become ill after eating, which points to improper handling/cooling. I have shopped at Publix since the 60s and was so happy that Athens had a Publix to shop at. This new one is NOT living up to the standard that lifetime customers know to be executed by other locations. Publix is famous in FL for their standards of service and quality of merchandise. That is how they get away with higher prices. Someone from corp needs to revisit this location as it is hurting their reputation. Other one isn't much better. read more

Publix has amazing customer service and a variety of products. Sometimes it's a little pricey, but it's worth it to get treated well!

Great grocery with a lot of fresh prepared choices. Wine and beer. Bakery's with good breads and rolls. One of our favorite markets to visit when we travel in there territories. read more

This store has the friendliest employees. Instead of having to hunt someone down for assistance, every single employee asks if they can help you with something. I shop the buy one get ones free and frankly hate when I have to go anywhere else to shop. Just a better shopping experience all the way around. read more
