Publix had become the leading supermarket in Florida and has since expanded throughout the southeastern United States. They became the leading supermarket by putting a strong emphasis on customer service. They bring the adage "the customer is always right" to new levels. Add to this fantastic BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals and that alone makes for a winning combination. Add to this the iconic subs that they make in their deli (affectionately known as Pub Subs) and they become virtually unbeatable. These subs are pretty amazing. I usually go with their Italian sub or their roast beef. Both are excellent and I guess anything you would order at their deli counter would be a winner. I must say that I woukd definitely recommend this particular location or any Publix, for that matter. Beyond grateful to the Publix Bakery! The day before our wedding, we were delivered our wedding cake by a private vendor. It was an absolute disaster and completely not usable. I called the Publix bakery and spoke to the manager, who was extremely helpful and confident they could help us out. I came in person less than 24 hours before our wedding and place an order directly with the bakery team, and showed the person who would be decorating the cake a picture of what we wanted. She promised to get it to us by 1pm and called me on the dot to pick it up. They not only created a work of art, but something that was delicious and way beyond what we could've asked for! It was less than $300 in total for a two tier (10 inch with 8 inch on top) wedding cake (red velvet cake with cream cheese filling on top & marble cake with vanilla custard bottom) which is honestly very affordable. I noticed that this store has a 3.5 rating and that's pretty much how I'd rate them - 3 stars. Exterior Anchor store in a big plaza, but there are lots of neighboring tenants sharing the space and the parking lot is ALWAYS crowded, no matter the time of day. Interior For some reason, this store doesn't seem as open and spacious as the Publix stores I'm used to. I don't know if the interior walls are dark or the ceiling is lower, but it's just an oddly claustrophobic feeling store once you venture past the cashier stations. Price / Value Publix has always been a bit pricier than local grocery stores but the 'amazing' customer service and wide variety of in-stock groceries used to justify the prices. As long as you stick to sales only items and purchase essentials (fresh produce, milk, dairy, eggs) and avoid pre-packaged, convenience foods - you'll be fine. Customer Service About that amazing customer service - Customer service has always been hit or miss here. About 50% of the time, you'll deal with a rep who makes you want to look around to see if you're being filmed for a training video, because their customer service is just so stellar, but the other 50% of the time you're gonna be saddled with someone who's awful and hasn't been fired (or quit) yet. Lol. This store has a LOT of employees who prioritize standing around chatting with coworkers versus working. Typically, I'm fine with this, because I pick up my little odds and ends and I use self-checkout. The only time I need staff members to actually assist me is to slice some Boar's Head deli meat or on the rare occasion that I'm getting one of their delicious sub sandwiches. Since I know how slooooooow they are - I typically order both these items in advance. Last visit, I tried to use online ordering to get some deli meat sliced but the system was not showing any of my desired products as available for order. This happens sometimes, so I called. I had to call the store 3 times before I could get anyone to answer. The associate (middle-aged AA lady) answered with a smile in her voice. She was joking with me and asked how long before I arrived and I told her I'd be inside in about 5 minutes because I was in front of Goodwill (next door) unloading some items. She said "You're in our parking lot!" like she couldn't believe I was calling in an order from the parking lot. She was jokingly giving me a hard time. I told her, 'Yes - but I've been calling you since before I left Darien over 30 minutes ago." She apologized for the delay in reaching someone and assured me they'd have my items ready before I made it inside. She told me that 2 of the items I wanted were available in the sliced & ready section and she knew for certain because she'd just stocked / replenished them. So they only needed to slice ONE product. Somehow, I was not surprised when I entered the store roughly 10 minutes later and this same associate was standing in the center of the department, laughing and chatting with another associate. And a different associate (white brunette woman) was behind the counter at the deli meat section, bagging popcorn at a very leisurely pace. I approached and explained that I was picking up an order I'd called in and she says, "Oh ... yeah ... I was just about to slice that for you." So even though I'd called this in and indicated that I was already here, the priority was still somehow bagging popcorn to put on a shelf for later. Overall Overall, I really like Publix, but this store is falling victim to a lot of bad hires and this has been the case since before the pandemic. read more

Yesterday, using a scooter to shop as I am recovering from pneumonia, I met Zac. My scooter basket was loaded! Zac said, "Ma'am, I can take these to your car for you." Such kind words. He loaded my groceries into my car and refused a tip. Every time I go to Publix, there is always a kind employee to help. The young man who ran to get me a drink. (I wish I knew his name) I didn't even ask, he noticed I was standing up in the scooter and hurried over to see what I needed. (This was on a previous visit.) Great job, Publix! This location is a plus to have around. I had stopped by Walmart near the store and there was nothing there! Looks like they are going out of business, but I needed a week worth of groceries for 3 growing guys. This location was clean, very helpful and not as costly as I remembered. The employees were very helpful, they had different brands, organic brands and a lot of organic products that I needed that were not extremely expensive. They took and loaded up my recycled bags and a lot of times you get the roll of the eyes from the employee, but they were HAPPY to do it. I like that in a store. The produce was fresh, and the deli line was fast. That is a #1 for me. =) read more

Worst pharmacy ever. Drop off prescription at 12:30 said couple hours went home took nap woke up at 4:15 called pharmacy still not ready said going to be another hour. I had a tooth extracted they could care less that I really need the antibiotics and the other medicine that was prescribed. read more

So, I had a minor dilemma with a cake I had picked up at another Publix in Jacksonville for the Marine Corps birthday. The message was suppose to say "happy 245th birthday USMC!" And I didn't realize it said "25th" until I was all the way in Brunswick. So I called the bakery here and they said come on in. They were able to add the 4 in easy peasy and were so accommodating. This pharmacy inside the store, is super cautious about filling prescriptions. They would not allow my assistant to drop off my prescriptions without showing his picture id. Since he lost his wallet 4 days ago, I had to return to Publix and drop off rx myself. I understand picture id to pick up, but dropping off? Then, when I got home, I realized one bottle felt a little light. I counted, and my prescription was 20 pills short! Once you leave the pharmacy, you have no recourse, so I am screwed. This pharmacy is shady! Their prices are great, their work is sloppy. Make them count your meds in front of you if you are having to take an expensive medication. read more

Top-notch friendly service and quite the step above other grocery stores in the area. Your bill will be a little heavier, but it's worth it most of the time. Today it was pretty crowded but I was pleased to see so many registers opened and taking customers. I only had to wait behind one person. Publix offers a friendly staff and a fun shopping experience at a slightly premium price. Your ticket will probably end up coming up a little higher than across the street at Harvey's or next door at Walmart, but you won't pull out as much hair in the process. The atmosphere is always clean and friendly. The store went through some remodeling last year and looks fantastic. The bakery and deli departments are great. Values aren't bad, and there are often some great sales in bins near the front of the store. The produce department is probably the best in town. read more

If only I could leave zero stars...I tried to get a sub on a Sunday evening around 6:30 and they were completely out of bread. Completely out. Nothing. I've had quality issues with the subs from this location in the past, but never completely out like this evening. I'm visiting GA to see my parents who live on SSI, traveling all the way from the Bay Area, CA. I've been away from GA for 8 years now, but grew up in north GA and have always loved Publix! I have a few meals that I ALWAYS eat when I come back, Publix subs being one of them. Unfortunately that won't be happening while I'm here for a few days or on future trips. This store has completely lost my business. These subs are something I rave about to all my friends back in Cali and I really look forward to them the few times I get to come back home each year. This store has gone downhill lately. All the reviews are very old, 2 years or more. I have gotten several spoiled produce items, I did get my money back but that doesn't make it ok. Yesterday I bought strawberries, of course their produce is not local but from California. I question that too. When I tried to wash the berries, I found 5 rotten ones. Every time I step in this store I seem to have a problem with their service... today I went to get a money order and the woman working couldn't even give me a smile and say thank you when my transaction was completed. I always greet with a smile and have good attitude because I also work in retail and understand there are good days and bad days. My all time favorite grocery store. The cashiers are so friendly. The bakery is always fresh. The people in the deli can use some more customer service lessons but other than those few. Clean store, good service, almost never have to wait to check out, unlike that atrocious big box store next door. Prices are a little higher, but with planning and taking advantage of specials, BOGO offers, and such, it is about the same as that big box place too! And a whole lot friendlier...Watch the produce though, they leave stuff out past it's prime. read more
