I am a regular at this location. Publix makes me happy. Excellent Deli, Produce and BOGO offers are the top reasons I shop here. I preorder the sub that is on sale that week and order it how I like it. Ie: Cut in quarters. No salt, etc. the ppl who work here are very friendly. They ask to help you find something. Cut fruit is amazing. $5 Sushi on Wednesday. Use the app. You can cut coupons, make lists and get additional savings. I went yesterday and picked up two Boars Head Turkey subs. I avoided the lunch rush. It was great. read more

Craig Bruce While I normally don't think about Renee Descartes or ponder such deep thoughts while shopping, I really have often wondered if customer service still exists. This Publix provides a strong argument that it does. It's almost impossible that you will not experience a passing associate acknowledge you as you go through the aisles. It's either great training in customer service, or I look like a shoplifter. Cashiers are always at the end of their registers when not attending other customers. The store itself is clean and well organized, but not fancy. Based on how well the store is run, a remodel and upgrade would probably be a good investment. The only reason it's not getting a five star review is because it's not as impressive as some of the newer supermarkets. Kudos to the team here. read more

It's not just here but when have Many canned food you'd DONT put almost all of them in One bag!!! Well they Always do and even I have to request every single time to NOT do that it's Too Heavy and the bags will tear before I can even get them inside my home and also things like bottled juices also that are heavy they do that also so I've started bagging my own groceries and they act like they don't like that ,well then train your baggers to do it right ! I pay a lot of $ for my groceries and work hard for it and the very least they can do is not put many heavy cans and bottles in the same bag and then the bags tear on me.‍ target has the best bags they at least are a lot more strong, I do grocery shop there sometimes . Maybe I shouid more often instead almost always at this Publix. Also the few times I get a $3.00 off since I have club Publix it's not worth it whoopee doo I get $3.00 off sometimes if I purchase like at least 60.00 . Well I always owns way way more than that. Could at least get a $10.00 off especially with what I spend everytime I go there to grocery shop! Last thing , I also take out my own groceries, have too many times the person who's taken them out drop the pack of bottles waters and at least a couple roll out and or it busts when it hit the parking lot ground and do you think they even offer to go get me another pack of bottled water when I paid full Price for the pack that shouldn't be busted nor leaking water ‍ read more

It is unusual when in a quest for fried chicken, to forget the "local" chicken joints as the best. I have found that so far, the best store-bought fried chicken came from Publix deli. I had read an article concerning which grocery store had the best fried chicken. Publix came in at number one. So, when my wife came home with a family box, I was able to determine the validity of this claim. The chicken (after a bit in the warmer) was still warm. There were two gigantic chicken breasts, thighs, drumsticks and wings. The chicken was still crunchy, not greasy at all. My wife loves the fried skin, so she gave it a great rating. I was pleasantly surprised. After having an excellent experience with the "Pub-Subs", I was glad to see the continuation of quality. I've had their baked Cajun wings before, and they were also excellent. If ya want great chicken, go grab a box! read more

My favorite Publix in town! I'm one of those annoying customers who ask them to customize the tray of meat I purchase and they always do it with a smile and sometimes even a joke or conversation. It truly has that hometown grocer feel to it. Also, more generally, they have a great selection always, great quality foods (especially meat) and the best customer service. We just moved to the area and were delighted to see a Publix close by. Decided to stop there a few times to pick up a sub at the deli and unfortunately we will not be doing that anymore after bad experiences. The first incident, I ordered a chicken tender sub online. I arrived at the deli to find that the sub had not been made despite me arriving 10 minutes after the ready for pickup time only to find out they were "out of tenders" and would not be making anymore for the day. How can I place an online order if you are out of the ingredients? That shouldn't be allowed to happen. Tried again another time, same order, and again they had not pre-made the sub for my arrival. After standing in the line for 20 minutes I finally get to the front and the woman behind the counter rolled her eyes at me when she found out my order was a chicken tender sub and proceeded to complain to me about making chicken tender subs and being short staffed. After she finally made my sub, there was no "sorry for the wait" or "here's your order" she just nonchalantly tossed it on the counter without a word. My third experience here was very much like the second. I thought Publix prides themselves on customer service? Apparently not this one. The folks in the deli clearly don't want to be there and in turn make me not want to order from there. read more

My wife and I do a lot of grocery shopping and we most always use Publix. They seem to have the customer service thing down pretty good and I love the fact that they will open a register if everybody is busy. The quality of the food and the quality of the service match up nicely, and the folks are very friendly in particular at the location where we shop in Crews marketplace on Buford Highway. read more

For starters, the meat quality has really plummeted here. Furthermore, when you ask for a burger to cut a specific cut of meat, you are always met with resistance. Although, most of the staff is very friendly, it has been noted that this store is starting to show deficit. The last comment, the hours, why don't you just close at 6pm? Lol... used to stay open late, and now gradually becoming like the rest of pathetic Cumming, and shutting down before people even get off work... sad. read more

Publix canceled my cake order and had the nerve to tell me it was my fault. After pulling up the Order on the computer, but assistant bakery manager noticed that it said, "canceled by store". She then proceeds to tell me that I must've called in and canceled the order. I don't know about you but canceled by store and canceled by customer, Have two entirely different meanings.This was when I felt it necessary to involve the store's manager. They offered me half off the cake after I waited 35 minutes for them to make it. However I decided that my cake should be free. And free it was. Publix how dare you value time missed at my kids birthday party @ $18. Get new managers, pronto. $5 To the person who can read what this says on the cake. read more

I was in town to see my parents and stopped at this Publix to buy some Advil for my splitting headache. The store itself looks fine but I think some people are deterred from this location because of the dilapidated shopping center it's in. It's very old and construction is being done on some parts. I went to the medicine aisle to retrieve the Advil and the price for a 50 Count said $4.29 now they had a sale on the 100 count for 7.99 but I figured I only need a couple so went with the smaller size. I went up to the counter and the woman was friendly enough but when she rang me up it said my 50 count was $7.09. Since I was half way out of the store when I noticed this on my receipt I said the heck with it but still I thought it was a little strange. I will definitely stick to the Publix on Castleberry from now on :) read more

They had everything I needed. Contrary to some of the other reviews nothing that I bought was close to expired. I love the publix bogo and today I saved almost 20 dollars. This review is on the Express lane cashier named Jessica more than the store. She seemed like an employee that makes everyone's day better. I'm sure it's a monotonous job but she was upbeat, engaging with children in her line as well as the line behind her, complimenting people on their shoes, etc. I'm an easy customer I don't have much to say when checking out but the quiet customers do appreciate the upbeat cashiers that have the perfect balance of being upbeat without being too intrusive. read more

This Publix is what I would consider average. The food is always great, as well as the produce, but that's not makes this store a 3-star joint. It's the service that keeps me from giving this place 5 stars! The employees are somewhat nice, some are fantastic, but others are not. I've got mixed emotions about this store, but for the most part, employees seemed like they were depressed or had a bad day, but that's no reason to allow it to effect service. FOUND IT! I have been looking all over for that crazy Calypso cookie that I purchased a few weeks ago in Marietta. It was a large cookie that was approximately $2 and I could not find it in subsequent stores. When I entered this store today, I had that cookie in mind and inquired at the bakery. Come to find out, it is no longer a large cookie but smaller cookies that are purchased in bulk (14 for $3.56) at a much better price. I was so glad that I had actually asked about this cookie because it was not out in any form. The employee was kind enough to go in the back and retrieve the cookies for me. SCORE! After getting my cookie, I stepped over to look at the hot deli items but decided that I would pass because it was the lunch hour and this place was very busy packing up soups, custom sandwiches and chicken. As I entered the checkout line I realized that I was in trouble because the people in front of me has special checks that the cashier did not know how to process. They also do not have self-check options in this store. Check out was extremely slow! This store looks as if it is an original structure from the 60's and in serious need of modernization. While you're at it, please add that self-check register or better yet open up a register in the deli area to handle the over-flow during the lunch hour. This is my favorite Publix to shop at in the area. Everyone, from the managers to the cashiers and baggers, is kind and ready to help. They open more lanes when they see a need. The store is clean and well stocked. They accept coupons without hassle. The samples at the Publix Aprons counter offer a great way to try new things. At this Publix, the employees strive to live up to the motto, shopping is a pleasure. read more

I generally love Publix. This Publix however is flawed. The store is set up all wrong. The produce is on the left side of the store. The meat is on the right. They do ticketmaster sales which could be attractive to some (not me, but someone must still use them). I bought a cookie cake for Doug W and asked the man in the bakery to write Happy Father's Day on it. He ruined that cake. I had to get another and a woman took over. She has terrible penmanship and I had to ask her to add the 's. She wrote simply 'Happy Father Day'. When I complained to customer service, the man basically said yeah, that looks terrible. But I needed the cake so I bought it. A few days later that same baker with terrible handwriting gave my daughter a rock hard cookie. I hate to complain about a free cookie but I have high expectations at Publix. She gave us another one but it was equally hard. If you need a grocery store in the area, it is the only one around since Kroger closed across the street. It will due but when I can't I drive to the one on Bethelview. read more

I have to give a shout out to the lady that works in the seafood department. I haven't seen her name tag, but she has been so helpful with the new seafood meals they put together for you. My hubs and I saw a sign for the new lobster with vodka sauce and thought that sounded good. After talking to the nice lady in the seafood, she said it was good and heard back from several customers that really liked it. So we tried it. It was amazing and so easy. Just put the bags in the oven and that's it! We went back to tell her how awesome it was and to try another flavor with shrimp and scallops. She again prepared the bags for us and threw in some extra shrimp and scallops for us! I will use this Publix from now on even though we have one a little closer to us. The only complaint I have is they don't carry a particular brand of soda that the hubs likes, but I know if we asked, they would start to carry it for us. This has always been my favorite Publix and the one I shopped at most, however, after the experience I had yesterday, I will never return. I always buy a certain wet dog food when it's buy one get one free as I have an old dog rescue with eleven dogs and go through food rather quickly. The past several years, I've never had an issue with buying a large quantity at the sale price, however, I decided to start asking before I loaded up because there was a time when I was trying to buy apparently too many Starbucks drinks and they limited my purchase. The cashier said there was no limit because there were so many different varieties of this particular food and I wasn't using coupons for it. I loaded up my cart and went to checkout. The cashier I talked to was no longer there and I got someone else. This particular cashier went and talked to someone in customer service and came back and said she could only sell eight at the sale price. I probably had forty I was planning on buying. I told her about asking the other cashier beforehand but it didn't matter. She seemed to think I was buying so many that there wouldn't be any left for someone else. It didn't matter that there were still a lot left as I had only got a couple of each kind and there were at least twenty different kinds. She was extremely rude. Because of this, I told her to just cancel my entire order and I walked out. I spend so much money in that store and to be treated like that was ridiculous. I went to a different Publix and bought the same amount of dog food with no issue. It's extremely unfair to the customer to have to guess which items have a limit, or to be told there isn't one only to find out there is upon checkout. Whichever items are limited in a particular store should have a sign stating so. Perhaps it's time to switch back to Kroger. Their prices are cheaper anyway. read more
