This review is for the deli only. IYKYK The ultimate sandwich is the best! I can't wait to get to Publix as soon as we get to FWB just to get my sandwich. For $6.09 you get a half sandwich with the meats and cheese and all the toppings. Best deal around! The deli folks are always so nice and willing to customize your sandwich for you. Today the nice lady told my husband he could have a whole sandwich for $6.99! She basically forced him to get the deal. Not much to say about the ambiance it's a grocery store. I was on vacation with my boyfriend for his birthday and just got back in town today. I bought pico from them and it had a hair in it. I called the Publix directly and they were very rude and dismissive. Instead of ensuring the safety of the next customer or upholding cleanliness and code safety of the publix corporation they pushed me off onto the next department until it came down to me having to handle the problem myself. This particular Publix is conveniently located and is a great supermarket to both the residents of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and visitors to the Emerald Coast. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we can never forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% accurate statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. I travel often for business and Publix is the supermarket that I seek when I am traveling. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix location or any Publix location for that matter and I give this particular location five stars. read more

This is for the deli only For a $12 sandwich and I paid for extra meat and this is not the place to go. There were literally 2 pieces of meat on each half. I wanted tomatoes so they put on some diced which is crazy to use. I had them add deli mustard and I couldn't see or taste it. Definitely not going to use the deli for sandwiches anymore. read more

Our go-to place for groceries when visiting Okaloosa Island. Plenty of parking (but could use a few more cart corrals in the lot). Inside you'll find a well-lighted store with a great selection of fresh and canned, frozen, or baked goods hot out of the oven. The hot and cold food Deli is one of the best with quick lunches of (depending on the day) chicken, fish, beef, soup, Latin specialities, casseroles, hot veggies and on and on. Hoagies, subs, or sammies of all sorts are made-to-order as you wait. Love this deli! Fresh fruit and vegetables are usually top-notch. I was personally surprised at some of the beer specials because I've never been in a store that offers BOGO on six packs....but Publix does at times. Verdict: Great service and a great sub. Underrated place to get a quality sandwich. The Jerk turkey with smoked gouda is a great combo. No need for the bacon. No bacon? Blasphemy, right? You're getting Boar's Head meats and cheeses so it's a pretty good quality. I liked the what rolls too, especially paired with a little honey mustard. Consistency is something you're giving up here so be specific in your order. If you want a little mayo or mustard, you'd better day so. Same with the toppings. Be specific about how much. The people are great; super helpful and friendly. They'll be guessing at what you want so make it easy and good for both of you. They change the sub special each Wednesday. I learned that from the gentleman making my sub. I went to two different Publix on the same week for the same sandwich because the first one was so good and I went to the closest store each time. One thing that was consistent was that everyone at both locations were fantastic and personable. If I lived here, I'd be a regular. read more

Friendly service and prices are ok. I did just pick up a ribeye steak for almost $20 so we will see how tasty it is. I used the pharmacy while visiting and they were very friendly but also very busy. This store is within a mile of Okaloosa Island in Ft. Walton Beach so convenient. I am told by others in my family that the Publix brand ice cream is very good. UPDATE: I broiled the steak and it was almost as good as Ruth Chris - almost...it was delicious. I would have loved to grill it but the weather was not cooperating. We also ordered a shrimp Cocktail platter for the holidays and we were impressed. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and fresh! read more

Shockingly small produce section for a grocery store. Maybe 1/10 of overall space when I am used to maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the store devoted to produce. However, they do have a lot of specialty items that we need due to wheat, milk and egg allergies. Lots of gluten free items (Udi's, Glutino), egg replacer and a variety of non-dairy milk. Store is clean and the employees are friendly. Would love for them to expand their produce offerings but I guess they know what sells in the area. read more

This location is great. They carry a lot of decent wine and pre made foods. Great place to stop on the way to the beaches. Our favorite things to get here are the chicken tenders and the subs. The tenders are made in house and are HUGE pieces of meat right off the breast. Lightly breaded and seasoned. If you buy a pound you get a free dipping sauce. The subs are so so so good. I get a whole sub and have them cut it into 4 pieces so we can much on them through the day at the beach. They have a lot of meat on them. Don't be fooled by the menu (it only lists a few choices of sandwiches). They are just suggestions. You can actually get up to 3 of ANY of the meats in the deli case. The boars head subs are 7.69. They also have publix subs for less. There is usually a boars head sub for 5.99 on sale. Last week it was turkey. You can come up with some pretty great meat combos with all the great choices. They also have really good toppings that are fresh. I LOVE the pickles. The organic section here is pretty decent also. The store on racetrack has a better selection for that tho. Enjoy!! read more

When we visit Florida we always shop at Publix but this is the first time I was treated like nothing . For no reason this cashier lady was talking rude to me , I tried to use that bar think they use when you want to put your merchandise and she said pretty rude you don't need it ( fine) , she never said Hi or anything even when my daughter said Hi to her she never reply , I was paying with my card and my card was gift card so I didn't understand why they ask me for PIN number and I asked her and she said green button green button loud and rude . I am so shocked , and she started murmuring to the guy next to her like I am not there ( so disrespectful) . read more

This Publix has excellent customer service. The manager, Jamie Nichols, went out of his way to help me find some gluten free graham crackers right before thanksgiving. The store was packed but he was so patient trying to locate them in the store. When he could not find them, he offered to have them for me the next day. He followed through as promised by going out of his way to get them for me. The store is very nice and clean, but the customer service makes it exceptional. read more

I absoultely love this place. Always have. The aisles are arranged in a manner that mostly makes sense. The stuff you need isn't off to the sides. Their sushi has been very good, and I think the idea of Sushi Wednesdays is great. Only concern is: "How much fruit are you throwing out?" I was walking past the dumpster in back one day and it reeked of fresh fruit . .. Maybe they have no control over that, and I don't know enough about it, so I can't really mark them down for that. The customer service manager goes above and beyond the call of duty and is absolutely amazing. Sometimes the older coworkers behind the customer service desk are dismissive, but all-in-all, I gotta say that this place is usually amazing. The guy who works in produce has always been SUPER nice and positive! This is my number one preferred place to go for grocery shopping. read more

Very nice and super clean. Why the 5 stars? Well.. you see. I went to Stony Brook for environmental sustainability and public policy. Please ignore the fact that my car gets less than 20mpg. That being said, I am OBSESSED with the LEDs that line the frozen food aisles. Well, you might wonder why these are so important. And I will educate you my friend! They have motion sensors, and the lights shut off when no one is in the aisles... and click on when you approach. What a great little way to save some energy. Lowers the energy cost on the store, which in turn lowers prices of goods, and its great for the environment. Winner winner read more

This review is for InstaCart, not necessarily for the Publix in Fort Walton Beach, which is ok, but is limited in its stock. But since InstaCart doesn't actually have a physical address you can find on the web, I will review it here. Maybe Publix will get a clue and not associate with InstaCart either since they are *shady*. Keep reading to find out why... We thought InstaCart was going to be a lifesaver over our Christmas vaca. We ended up in Fort Walton Beach in an AirBnB which was a save from a hellish vaca spoiled in Jacksonville. So traveling on *Christmas day* to the Fort Walton Beach BnB we needed to use InstaCart to get groceries quickly from the local Publix in an area for which we were unfamiliar. We thought InstaCart was an economic lifesaver. They even advertised there were NO delivery fees, but that was just an outright LIE. The "delivery fee" didn't exist, but something called a "service charge" most certainly did (and I doubt there is little difference between the two, except a lexical sleight-of-hand). So InstaCart's "service fee" tacked on an additional 5%, which at almost $400 for a week's worth of groceries or so, was about $20! The $20 "service fee" also did not include the crappy shopper's "tip" which was also almost $20. So, for $40 in FEES (which pushed the total well over $400!) I would've just gone there myself and done my own shopping, especially since my "personal" shopper had to substitute half my grocery list and got most of the substitutions wrong. (Your personal shopper also puts you on the spot, texting you substitutions that you're supposed to approve right there and then with little or no chance to vet THEIR choices. Or they just put it in the cart anyway whether you approve it or not. This, incidentally, was how I ended up with 8 lbs of organic beef that was 90% fat-free and tasted like chewing a leather coat!) I suppose it's also no surprise then that your "personal" shopper will substitute items at a higher cost to increase his tip. When I submitted a complaint to InstaCart arguing that their advertising of a "free delivery charge" was a FRAUD, I got the usual scripted answer from "Customer Service" probably somewhere in Indonesia or the Philippines, and eventually my complaint just went ignored and was never answered. So, while some might be tempted to chalk this one up to caveat emptor, it's really just a case of out-and-out FRAUD and a slimy sleight-of-hand. Use InstaCart at your own risk. Like so many things these days -- Ebay, Amazon, etc. -- there really is no such thing as Customer Service and the companies really don't stand behind their promises, or in this case, outright LIE, nor do they really care about your complaints. So, my advice? Don't use them! Oh, and tell EVERYBODY about them until they go away! read more

Publix at Paradise Point plaza Fort Walton Beach is the safest, best quality grocery store in the entire Panhandle. You are greeted at the door with a freshly wiped sanitized cart and a smile. All employees are very courteous, wearing masks and practicing safety. I would like to give a shout out to Lily and Monique, cashier and bagger. They went above and beyond today double checking my eggs and picking up all my heavy items to scan. You have two gem employees and they made my day! read more

I love the produce at Publix. Almost everything here is fresher than when I go elsewhere in town. Some are pricy but within reason. The meat departments prices are always high though no matter what I'm getting. I wish they had better sales in meat department. Great variety of meat. Especially in the different things you can't always find elsewhere like lamb, buffalo, etc. read more

The people here are always friendly and professional the store is always very clean and they go out of their way to make sure you have a nice experience. While the store is great this is the worst publix in the area in my opinion. Getting help at the deli at this location takes forever. A line can start forming at the deli and no one will help. I have waited over 5 minutes just to get help. There has been times i just got tired of waiting that i just left without getting my deli items. They need to either figure out how to work as a team or hire more people in there deli. On top of that you never know when they want to use the now serving numbers. You can go in and they aren't using it then the next time they are and you may not realize it so they will skip you. Its very frustrating. read more

This publix is the BEST in the area. I have tried all them in the area and this one blows everybody else out of the water! I am a local and they always remember me and treat me like a part of their family. The cashiers and bag boys are always a hoot when I talk to them. The cashiers know the ad and help me save $$ when I shop. They even remember what type of bags I prefer using.
