Gia and Judy Giambrone make this Publix AMAZING. The shelves are always stocked immaculately and the customer service at checkout is exceptional. One time I needed help finding a lemon squeezer and Gia knew exactly where it was and all of the cool details about it!! I would return to this Publix repeatedly just to see this wonderful duo. Publix had become the leading supermarket in Florida and has since expanded throughout the southeastern United States. They became the leading supermarket by putting a strong emphasis on customer service. They bring the adage "the customer is always right" to new levels. Add to this fantastic BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals and that alone makes for a winning combination. Add to this the iconic subs that they make in their deli (affectionately known as Pub Subs) and they become virtually unbeatable. These subs are pretty amazing. I usually go with their Italian sub or their roast beef. Both are excellent and I guess anything you would order at their deli counter would be a winner. I must say that I would definitely recommend this particular location or any Publix, for that matter. I choose to give it five stars for their steps in making sure a visit to a Publix is always a wonderful experience. read more

I love Publix and always shop here, but I had a bad experience today. They had BOGO Solo paper plates. The problem was they only had one pack left. I asked if they had another one somewhere else in the store (since I didn't see any others on the shelf). The cashier got someone else to look. I found out that this person wasn't a manager but higher than a cashier. This person said they didn't have any more but she could give me a rain check. While I appreciated it, I nicely said that I wanted the paper plates. She was rude and said, "I'm giving you half price this time, but I won't do it again. This is the ONLY time I'll do this for you". I was taken aback. I didn't ask her to do that. I merely said that I wanted the paper plates and she immediately was rude. It wasn't like they had lots of paper plates on BOGO and I was trying to be a jerk to get only one pack and demand to pay half price. I said nothing like that, nor did they have more in that size. I didn't know what the solution was but felt that they should do something because I needed paper plates, but if the rain check was the only solution I'd take it. I never got to say this because she immediately got rude. I felt like telling her to keep her paper plates AND I wanted to ask am I on a "list" now (lol) since she said this was the only time she would do this. I never asked her to do this. Like are you really keeping track of me? She made me feel like I asked her to break a rule. I didn't ask her anything other than if they had any other paper plates. Technically, it is their fault if they only have one of an item for a BOGO. I think the fair thing to do is to give a customer a discount since THEY only had part of the BOGO item. I'm so annoyed and wanted to complain to a real manager but I didn't. I tried to be the bigger person and give her grace because maybe she was having a bad day or has family problems but the more I think about how I was treated, the more I feel that management should know about this. Prior to this rude woman, there was a wonderful gentlemen stocking shelves on the soup aisle. He was about 15' away from me and noticed I was squatted down looking at the soups. He came over and asked me if there was something he could help me find. Then we had a nice conversation. Now that's service!! Regarding the rude woman, I expect rudeness like this at Walmart - never at Publix. I don't even want the paper plates now because I know every time I'll use them I'll think of her nasty self. I haven't opened them and may return them. It's like "geez, lady". I'm a nurse and deal with patients verbally abusing me and now I have to get treated badly at Publix too by one bad apple. I tried giving her grace but what about me? I have enough that I deal with and when I come in to Publix, I expect a great experience. Most of the time I get that. I know I could go to Walmart and pay less, but I don't want to put up with rude customers and staff. So, I pay the Publix high prices and get BOGOs sometimes. I shop at Publix at least 2-3 times per week. I was there last Friday and spent $150 and today spent $144. I hope a manager see this. I came in on August 27th in the afternoon at 1419 at the Millhopper location. The lovely Joan was my cashier. It wasn't Joan who was mean. I should have asked the rude person's name. I have the receipt. I spent $144.10. I mean no disrespect when I say this but she was a short woman with dark hair. I'm just trying to give a description. Perhaps she needs to go work at Walmart or Dollar General with that kind of attitude. read more

The Millhopper Publix has recently changed the display of cheeses and cold cuts in the deli section. They told me that the vendor (BoarsHead) implemented the changed. The new layout is horrible. Misleading, crowded, cannot tell the price of each product without straining your eyes and bending over to read the tiny pricing list placards at the bottom of the display. and still unable to correlate which product is which. I will not buy deli products from the store until Publix returns to the old way of display products and pricing. So sad. read more

Onions that don't make you cry (maybe if you use them as artificial tears) Garlic that won't scare away a vampire (can't smell it if you shove it up your nose) and cilantro that tastes like iceberg!!!! I shopped today and did all this work to make Indian food that tastes like bland soup. Other ingredients also Publix brand produce. Done with this store and I recommend that you be done with it as well. read more

Ever since I moved to Florida over four decades ago I've LOVED Publix. Their stores are always clean, their staff notices folks staring @ stuff on the shelves as they "patrol"the aisles & ask if we need help finding something. If they don't have it , they'll check to see if they can get it, special order it, & call customers when it comes in. It's NOT exorbitantly expensive. Even when I was a broke-butt waitress, I could afford to buy good but not terribly expensive food. The baggers always WARMLY check to see if I would like them to take it out to the car, the exact opposite of some stores where the tone of voice is more like "I'll take it out if you insist". I'm a regular so they pretty much know I'll say no but they always ask as if there's nothing else they'd rather do. It came in handy when I fell back down on a log & fractured multiple vertebra! One of the smaller Publix but very clean and friendly staff. The pharmacy at this location is very convenient and pretty fast. This is my quick in and out location when I just need to grab and go. The only cons are vegetable selection is a little sparse so if making anything with out basic carrots, spinach, cabbage, onion,garlic, tomato, etc. I will goto other locations a mile in one of two directions. The location tends to get busy during commute hours so I tend to go at off times. read more

This Publix is newly renovated as of October of 2010 and while not as large as some, is very comfortable, bright, and clean inside as you'd expect per the renovations. The staff is more polished and professional than the Archer Road stores and boy are they fast: these people get check-out done. Most Publix people are nice to a fault and good at what they do, but some stores (mainly the Archer locations) in Gainesville don't seem to measure up whereas this store is ace. My only complaints are the odd layout of this store, which fails to follow how most Publixi are designed, so you have things like the pet food near the center of the store instead of near the other dry goods sections as it most often is located. Also, the bakery here is bad to burn the pastries. I don't know why, but I've found on multiple occassions the pastries are burned. I asked a baker and he said "we've had some problems with the oven" . . . child, this store is less than a year old, let's giddyup on that because you can't claim the oven's old or anything. Altogether though, shopping really is a pleasure here. read more

I have been very happy with the response of Publix and their efforts to keep things stocked during the Covid 19 outbreak. The employees have been pleasant despite the stress I am sure they feel. My only concern is the lack of PPE both for their safety and the customer safety. The company should allow/require face covering, even cloth, as is currently recommended by the CDC. read more

I'm a Publix deli fan. I like this Publix deli better than the rest of the stores in the area. It is set up easier to get through and find what you're looking for than other stores. This deli does a great job with their premade items (sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.). They also have a salad bar at this deli. read more

I agree that this location is weird... not as good as the the location heading north on 43rd St. First off, the parking lot seems to always be packed, and the attempt at traffic control in the lot and the surrounding streets is confusing. The selection of meats are always in awkward portions and the store is laid out in a very strange way to me. Also, the customers at this location tend to be grumpy old folks that take a very long time in line and some how hold up the line disputing over the price or some other random question. Avoid this location if possible! read more

This Publix location is the closest to my home and I absolutely adore it! The store was recently rebuilt in October 2010. The new renovations are not only stunning but the store layout is efficient and effective. The employees are friendly and helpful and the parking is plentiful. I will drive out of my way to go to my "home" Publix. read more

Shady parking is almost always available. A little smaller than other Publix stores in town. No seating for you if you buy a deli meal or take out, and a smaller than average pharmacy section. Good buy one get one specials at every Publix, and this one is no exception. read more

A few minutes after getting home from shopping at this location, we noticed that there was an issue with something we bought. We gave Publix a call and spoke to Chuck, the store manager, just to inform him.. not to even complain about the situation. This Publix is weird. I only stop in when I leave Fresh Market. First off, it's big, clean and nice yes. But the deli and bakery don't carry what EVERY other Publix carries. IDK if you've ever bought the single slice of cheesecake w/ strawberry and whip cream topping @ Publix for $2.29 (The one that the Bakers prepare by hand every AM) but I have and I love them. Now when I went to this location they only had Publix factory cheesecake w/ 2 slices. For $5. I asked the baker if she had what I was looking for and she said she's never heard of it. She basically looked at me like I was speaking Chinese or something. Also the deli. Had problems there as well w/ the same products I buy at 3 other Publix locations delis. The guy at the deli called his manager to help me and she didn't know what I was talking about either. Made me feel like I was in the Twilight Zone! Or in a dream or something. It was weird. Only stopping in here for Milk or something like that. They just never have what I'm looking for. read more
