My husband and I recently got married. During our engagement, we had to make a whirlwind of vendor decisions, such as the wedding cake. I had used a different Publix in Florida for a birthday cake years ago and they did a fantastic job and I knew they also made wedding cakes. We decided to inquire about their service and the store very helpfully set up a time where we could pick up 2 free trays of several slices of their most popular cakes, icing, and fillings. It was enough that we sampled one tray with my parents, and one with his folks. Everything was delicious! I don't typically like sweets but I savored everything! Our parents also enjoyed the samples with us. After only a little discussion, we decided to go with Publix for our wedding cake and other desserts. I gave the bakery a color swatch and they were more than happy to match the steel blue of the bridesmaid's dresses and floral arrangements. We ultimately ordered: a 2 tier wedding cake, a full sheet cake, chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, a small cake to freeze for our first anniversary, black and white cookies, 2 fruit trays and 2 ham roll trays. The entire order was priced very reasonably and they delivered everything, not just the cake. They were on time and set up everything beautifully. When we need anything from a bakery, we will definitely use Publix! *All photos were taken by Amanda Livick*

I am so excited to welcome Publix into my neighborhood. The store is clean and brightly lit. Everything is so easy to find. In the off chance you cannot find what you are looking for an employee will come find you before you can even think about locating them!! I love how fresh everything is at Publix the produce section is organized and appealing. The layout of the store is very easy to navigate. I really appreciate being able to find more exotic things Like fresh tumeric. Many other grocer6stores in this area dont offer it. Although Publix prices are a little higher than there competitors the food quality, variety and customer service make up for it!

I'm disappointed that I planned to do same day pickup and my order had not updated that whole day until close to 8pm when it says it would be ready by 8pm that day. I attempted to contact customer service and of course no one answered the phone as large as that store is. So I had no other choice than to physically go inside. Went to customer service and the associate barely provided me with assistance. I was told I could go search for those specific products and I might be able to complete my order that was disposed to be pickup. The items were sitting right on the shelf. Go back to customer service then told the price is different than online. The price online was honored but it took the manager getting involved for their to be a resolve so thank you to her for helping me. Apparently they didn't have enough staff to fulfill pickup orders that go through the contactless pickup tower. All in all I won't be ordering pickup for a while after this experience. The run around was not fun. Other than that Walmart isn't bad but I just couldn't with the lack of communication and effort. My refund fortunately occurred the next day for a canceled item. Be mindful wait times can be longer than expected for pickup items.

I asked about whether they would honor Walmart's online pricing in store (most stores do). I was told, "I don't know that's a good question to ask someone" by an individual working there. Returns are also a nightmare. If someone purchases something at a different Walmart location they will refuse the return. The lack of continuity if off putting. That combined with non existent customer service and a minimal selection of organic and non-gmo options . Gone are the days with Walmart greeters who smiled and made everyone's day. Any other place would be better to shop than here. The prices aren't even the best anymore.

Hell-OOOO Kroger! You're like the girl (guy) next-door I never noticed was hot and then suddenly it…read morewas like, "oh my! How did I not notice?" Except in this case the hot guy/girl is VEGAN OPTIONS. I just stopped in for broccoli which every grocery store has, but then I wandered around, and stumbled upon the unbelievable selection of nondairy cheeses and meat-free deli slices, the old favorites plus plenty of brands that this vegan-of-20+ years has never even seen before. Very IMPRESSIVE. Now I simply had to check out the frozens and DANG if there aren't FIVE full cooler sectionals of plant based meats. All the usual suspects: Gardein, Boca, MorningStar, etc- only even more variety than I usually find elsewhere. OK, obligatory peek at the plant-based milk section. GEE GOLLY WOW. Once again, FIVE full refrigerated sections, top to bottom. You got your oat milk, soy milk, nut milks, vegan creamers, it's all here!! Feel like Kroger has just been hiding its treasure trove of vegan goodness from me and I don't understand. Why didn't anybody tell me? Their public branding is aesthetically so offputting I just assumed the store would be an extension of that annoyance... but if I could go back and change every "5-Star" grocery store I've ever reviewed up until now instantly to a four star just so this review stood out, surely I would. Anyway, finally, we come to the cherry on top: CAST IRON city!! I'm a huge fan of cast-iron and always on the lookout for interesting new pieces, typically there's nothing unique at a grocery store if they have cast-iron at all. But WOWZERS the Lodge display here is incredible. Such variety of pots and skillets, from tiny saucepans, to huge pizza trays, plus the equipment to maintain it in tiptop shape. The store is clean / spacious / well lit / well laid out, in addition to everything else, great prices. It's actually a pleasing place to shop. Even the guy monitoring self-checkout was awesome. Sigh. I really wish there was a Kroger near me. YES: VEGAN FRIENDLY, VEGAN HAPPY

There are things I love about this one and things that are not great…read more What is working: Good organic choices If shopping in store great opportunities for clearance items Store is clean and spacious Drive up service for groceries Gas discounts What's not working: Service-the customer service here is overall poor. Cashiers not greeting, discussing issues with coworkers to other coworkers in front of customers and etc. The cheese section-I can't buy fresh cut cheeses here as they always have picked up a weird flavor like they were packaged in the detergent aisle. I'm not sure where they are prepped or what it is but no matter which cheese you select they have this weird flavor addition of cleaner/laundry detergent. I'm speaking specifically to the ones near the produce section that are wrapped in plastic, weighed and labeled. Stick with Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Wegmans or ALDIs if you're looking to create a cheese board. Regardless of the negatives overall it's a solid location and the negatives don't stop me from shopping here regularly.

If you need help with anything, especially with self check out-you have to go ask for help and they will all look around at each other and argue over who is going to help. The food often rings up incorrectly compared to the signage and when you ask for it to be corrected, prepare to have a full on debate to get it fixed. The customer service is extremely lacking in this store and the attitudes are terrible.

Kroger's Struggles and Customer Relations Issues…read more Kroger, one of America's largest grocery chains, has been facing severe challenges following a failed merger. The company has already been forced to close some of its stores, and even more changes are expected amid continued economic uncertainty. Pressure from competitors only adds to the strain, but many of Kroger's difficulties stem from its own management decisions and poor customer-service practices. Chronic Out-of-Stock Problems One of the biggest frustrations for customers is Kroger's inability to keep popular items in stock. Time and again, advertised sale items are unavailable--either because management fails to order sufficient quantities or because there is a belief that customers will settle for higher-priced substitutes. Unlike many competitors, Kroger often refuses to issue rainchecks on out-of-stock sale items. This leaves customers frustrated and discouraged from returning. Even more frustrating is that raincheck policies vary from store to store. Some managers do not issue them at all, while others impose arbitrary limits (5 items at one location, 20 at another). When customers escalate complaints to Kroger's corporate office, the issue is simply routed back to the same store management, and rarely addressed in good faith. Restrictive Coupon Policies Another unpopular policy is Kroger's handling of its "buy 5, save more" promotions. Customers are only allowed to use the offer once per week, even though the sale runs for seven days. Most other retailers allow repeat use during the promotion period, but Kroger's restrictive rule forces customers to either make multiple trips or miss out entirely. This practice gives the impression that Kroger is more interested in protecting margins than rewarding loyalty. Customer Service Barriers Adding to the frustration is Kroger's limited customer service hours. While stores are typically open until 11 PM, the service desk often closes around 8 PM. This prevents shoppers from returning items, obtaining rainchecks, or resolving pricing errors during evening hours--a significant inconvenience. Shoppers also report that too many locations operate with only one staffed register at a time, pushing customers toward self-checkout whether they want it or not. Price Competitiveness Concerns Kroger heavily advertises "lower prices," but in practice, many competitors beat them. For example, 12-packs of name-brand soda at Kroger often run $10.95 each, with promotions like "buy 2, get 2 free" (bringing the price down to $5.47 each) or "buy 2, get 3 free" ($4.38 each). By comparison, other retailers regularly sell the same brands for $8.55 per pack, or three for $12.00, and also provide store coupons ($5 off $25) plus frequent manufacturer coupons ($2-3 off three 12-packs). The net cost can drop as low as $2.66 per pack--far below Kroger's sale pricing. Kroger rarely offers manufacturer coupons that can be stacked with store promotions, raising questions about whether management is keeping supplier discounts instead of passing them on to customers. Bottom Line If Kroger wants to stop its decline, it must address these deep-rooted management issues. The retailer's top-down approach, dismissive attitude toward customer complaints, restrictive coupon policies, and inconsistent service are driving shoppers elsewhere. Without meaningful reform, Kroger risks losing even more ground to competitors who treat their customers with fairness and respect.
