Walmart consistently has the worst customer service. Not always rude but no one ever knows the answer to any questions nor will offer to find the answer. I asked about whether they would honor Walmart's online pricing in store (most stores do). I was told, "I don't know that's a good question to ask someone" by an individual working there. Returns are also a nightmare. If someone purchases something at a different Walmart location they will refuse the return. The lack of continuity if off putting. That combined with non existent customer service and a minimal selection of organic and non-gmo options . Gone are the days with Walmart greeters who smiled and made everyone's day. Any other place would be better to shop than here. The prices aren't even the best anymore. read more

I was leaving the store and an employee asked to see my receipt, I politely declined and immediately two employees grabbed my cart and won't let me leave. There were 4 other employees that were right there and saw everything and they just stood there and watched. They didn't see or expect me of stealing anything they just want to see my receipt. So instead of saying have a nice day they held me hostage which is the craziest and most bizarre situation I've ever been in. Anyways, they called the manger over and the manager told them to let me go, which they did. I spoke to the manager and asked for the two employees that rushed me and held me hostage so I could tell corporate what happened and who did this to me and she wouldn't tell me. She did give me the store managers number, which was on the receipt. She told me that they shouldn't have done that but that I have to show my receipt. I said that's not store policy and she insisted that it was. I called corporate and they said it's Not store policy, which of course I knew. And they reached out to the store manager to tell her to call me and address the situation. Corporate said it will be with in 3 business days I will get a call from her, which I didn't. And after 10 days I called corporate back and told them I hadn't received a call, and they said she said she called me, which isn't true because I picked up every phone call for those 10 days and checked my voicemail just in case and didn't have one from the store manager. They told her again to reach out to me and again she never did. This is the Walmart that is closest to where I live and that I go to about once a week. So every time before I left and after my shopping I'd ask to speak to the manager and she wasn't available. After about 2 months I finally was able to speak to the store manager and she said that shouldn't have happened to me but she didn't know whether it was store policy for me to show my receipt when asked. I said there job is to ask but I'm under no obligation to show. No one saw or suspected me of stealing. So we basically have the whole working staff at the Walmart believing I have to show my receipt, the store Manager saying she didn't know, and only management saying employees can't hold customers hostage if they don't show the receipt. And then we have myself and Corporate that says of course customers don't have to show there receipts. Stores like Costco and Sam's club you have to show your receipt, it's in the contract you sign to become a member and if you don't show your receipt they will cancel your membership. That isn't Walmarts policy and they for sure can't grab your cart and not let you leave. Most bizarre situation I've ever been in and this is an easy one for Walmart not to get wrong but they actively went out of there way to do so. And the obvious truth is they don't ever want to be told no, even politely, to a grocery search/shake down and so they power pushed with no power and held me hostage. The store manager assured me that I wouldn't have to experience that again. I sure hope not. read more

I was driving through Virginia for the holidays (the day before christmas eve) when the skid plate on the undercarraige of my car started scraping against the road. It got to the point where it was constantly (and noisily) dragging at all times. I got off 295 and parked at this Walmart so I could figure out what to do. Turns out they have an auto center, so I went in (about 30 minutes before closing) to see if they could give it a quick look. Within 10-15 minutes they had screwed it back on, confirmed there was no other issue, and I was back on the road. They did not charge me. Many thanks to them for saving the day. read more

I ordered OTC meds from United Health care the sent it from via Walmart. It never got here but claimed it was delivered. I tried to call Walmart in Mechanicsville in Virginia. No one at that store answered the phone including the operator. I called many times for hours during business hours. No response. Very frustrating. read more

My car experienced a blow-out on I-64 late on a Sunday night. Everything was closed so I stayed overnight close to this Wal-Mart so that I could get there early the next morning. Got there around 8am, got my estimate and especially wanted to get the roadside hazard insurance on my new tires. Picked up my vehicle and when I went to pay, I saw that the roadside hazard insurance was not included. Mentioned it to the salesman, who shrugged and said it was too late to add it into the price. Fast forward four days, and I wake up to a low pressure alarm. Same tore that had blown out. Turns out it was due to a leaking valve stem that wasn't installed properly. And because the salesman at this location didn't add the insurance, I had to pay out of pocket. Overall, poor service at this location. read more

Walmart curbside pick up is a hit or miss. Been there for 30 minutes waiting for an order and no one seems to know how to help me. The phone number on the signs in the pick up area just take you to a prerecorded message from Christmas! And good luck getting anyone on the phone. I spent 15 minutes trying to connect with someone in the store. It doesn't matter if you call the online order section or customer service! No one is there to help you. Everyone knows that Walmart is a convenient mainly one stop shop. This review is solely based off of my most recent Walmart pickup. I'm disappointed that I planned to do same day pickup and my order had not updated that whole day until close to 8pm when it says it would be ready by 8pm that day. I attempted to contact customer service and of course no one answered the phone as large as that store is. So I had no other choice than to physically go inside. Went to customer service and the associate barely provided me with assistance. I was told I could go search for those specific products and I might be able to complete my order that was disposed to be pickup. The items were sitting right on the shelf. Go back to customer service then told the price is different than online. The price online was honored but it took the manager getting involved for their to be a resolve so thank you to her for helping me. Apparently they didn't have enough staff to fulfill pickup orders that go through the contactless pickup tower. All in all I won't be ordering pickup for a while after this experience. The run around was not fun. Other than that Walmart isn't bad but I just couldn't with the lack of communication and effort. My refund fortunately occurred the next day for a canceled item. Be mindful wait times can be longer than expected for pickup items. read more

Tire department in Mechanicsville Va 23111. Employee signing me in could not retain what I was saying. She wasn't pleasant or listening very well. Asked me my phone number 4 times then couldn't find me in the system, told me to fill out my information. I told her I should be in the system I have been here plenty of times. Then she asked me if I had another phone number. They have 2 bays for oil change and two bays for tires. About 4 or 5 people were out there. They were only using one bay for each. Everyone moving in slow motion. I didn't trust anyone to take care of my car at that point! I couldn't stand to stay there another second so I left. Something has to change that should not be acceptable but some how it's everywhere these days. I came to Express oil and tires to get my oil changed. They were all very polite and welcoming. Don't like going in here, only went because a family member wanted something I couldn't find in any other store. Went in, complete redesign of the store I actually worked at this location 7 years ago and hadn't stepped foot in there since, lots and lots of self check out machines. It's obvious they're slowly getting rid of their human employees. The floors were dirty and scuffed, everything looked dirty. The shelves were fairly empty which is to be expected since this whole Rona thing. And I couldn't find what I was looking for so I had to go into a Walmart for a product they didn't even have. this is my first time having an issue with the grocery pick up at the Mechanicsville Walmart . normally I can order and can get my groceries the same day but not today. I arrived a few minutes early checked in using the app. waited for 45 min. watching cars roll in groceries loaded and leave. then cars that arrived after me were loaded and leaving. I thought what is going on? im like is it because I use EBT? is it because im black? so I leave, got home, tried to cancel my order. tried to call no answer at all. so finally I chatted with an associate on line. was told order is too late to cancel so I head back to Walmart Mechanicsville edited my parking again waited and waited cars after me rolled in and out smh im done at this point. my reservation time was between 4p-5p was I suppose to wait the whole hour? would of been quicker for me to go inside! such a big waste of time and gas. read more

The second I came in the door people were about to start a fight at the returns desk. No clue what was happening but I stayed clear of the front. Went to the back and someone had stolen a bunch of $5 DVD cases for some odd reason. The self checkouts were not working properly due to a power surge according to the associate up front. It seemed like it just was not the right time or day to go to Walmart due to all of the crazy things going on. I try to go when there are not many people are there for this reason so I can have quiet and not chaos. I felt like I needed to just sleep for days after all of this happening. Got out to the parking lot and people were outside arguing of a parking spot that was far from the front. read more

This is the worst Walmart ever. The employees are incredibly rude and unhelpful. I was told when asking where cardstock was "I don't know and actually we don't carry that." (Another customer kindly showed me the entire wall they carry of cardstock Two aisles down. And when I ask them to correct the price on some tissue paper that wasn't ringing up the correct price, the employee told me it wasn't on sale and that if I didn't believe her that I could "March myself over there and ask the hallmark rep." (The hallmark rep confirmed that I was indeed correct and the item was on clearance) to which the Walmart employee replied that she was an idiot and would definitely get fired. I have called repeatedly to customer service and the phone is never answered. The customer service is shockingly horrible. read more

A disgrace to a company who prides themselves on American values. I called 4 times. 2 times the phone disconnected. One time when I called back they yelled at me for "disconnecting" before they could transfer. 20 rings to a department and no pick up (then disconnect). When you go there it is typically people who hate their jobs and are inconvenienced. The only people who actually care and have value are the ones who are mentedly challenged (not joking). No one else cares. The store clearly shows no concern about getting a manager who cares or has control of his employees in any capacity. Avoid this store at all costs and pay a slightly higher price somewhere else to hopefully put this particular Walmart out of business. Disgraceful. read more

I will start this off by saying I have a spinal injury and yes I'm young so just by looking at my face you might not be able to tell, my mother has a knee injury. We both went to Walmart for some essentials a couple days ago and when walking in the door we find two motorized wheelchairs provided by Walmart for the customers that need them, we proceed to sit down in the seat and a little African america man who worked at Walmart in a little yellow vest a hat and glasses near the cart section came out and yelled that we could not use these carts because they have people who need them more. I then had to prove to him that we were both injured customers who needed these carts and the man made my mother walk and not use the wheel chair even after seeing how swollen and bruised her knee was. When I asked to talked to his manager he then said oh we have no problem here let her use the cart. Overall he discriminated against her because of the way we looked and it was not okay. read more

Walmart is Walmart, I don't ever expect fantastic service. My last visit though was worth mentioning. I was in line at one of the back check outs buying a bunch of groceries (LOTS of frozen stuff) and a gift card. I asked the cashier for a gift receipt/activation receipt for the gift card, she said they didn't do those. Since she rang it up along with all the other groceries, I asked if I was supposed to give the card along with the whole grocery receipt so they would have proof of purchase if something went wrong with the card. She said she would take it off and I could pay for that separately in another transaction. Ok, fine, except the register wouldn't let her continue/ do anything after removing the item. She had to call for a floor manager. Approximately 10 minutes later she called again for a manager. Meanwhile the line to check out was getting longer and longer. After waiting impatiently for almost 15 more minutes i asked her what the floor manager looked like and i would go find him. (Of course he looked nothing like what she described). I had the people in the front page a manager to send to the back check out, telling them that my frozen stuff was melting. A manager was going to be there right away. Right. It was at least 5 more minutes. He came up, fixed the register and I complained about the wait. He actually laughed. Then when I said something about my frozen stuff melting he had the nerve to give me a snide look and mumbled something sarcastic and walked off. read more
