Today I had a very unpleasant experience at the store. I had just purchased a tray of meat and, only five minutes after leaving the supermarket, I discovered that the meat was completely spoiled. The smell was so strong that it left a terrible odor in both my vehicle and my home, so I had no choice but to return to the store immediately to return the product. When I arrived at Customer Service, I was assisted by Andrew. Instead of showing understanding or apologizing for the situation, I felt that his attitude was frustrated and not professional toward my concern. Because of that experience, I asked to speak with the manager on duty, Tiffany, hoping she could help resolve the issue. Unfortunately, her response was even more disappointing. She told me that Andrew "just talks that way" and that it did not mean he had a bad attitude. She then told me that if I had a bad attitude, she would not assist me. I want to make it clear that my frustration was not directed at the employees personally, but at a situation that was completely justified: 1. I had to return to the supermarket because I was sold a tray of meat that was already spoiled. 2. When I reported the issue, I received an unfriendly and unhelpful response from Andrew. 3. When I asked for assistance from the manager, instead of receiving a solution or an apology, I was treated with coldness and was told that I would not be helped if I was upset. As a customer, I find it unacceptable that, after purchasing a product in poor condition, I also had to deal with a lack of empathy and professionalism from the customer service team. I left the store shocked and extremely disappointed by the way this situation was handled. This could have been resolved easily with respect, understanding, and proper customer service. read more

Stopped in this weekend to grand some last minute items for a friend who's traveling. For a Saturday morning the store was very quiet. It was easy to run in, grab what I needed and head to the check out. The under 10 items lane had no customers so I quickly checked out with a very nice cashier. This location is always super clean and organized, and their staff are all very friendly. Due to its location by sawgrass and tourism in the area, it often has long lines and not many people at the Deli. The quality can vary depending on how busy they are. I felt lucky today when I stopped in to do a little lunchtime shopping. The parking lot was weirdly not crowded like it usually is. The store was clean and was in the process of being stocked and some items were being marked down for clearance even though the clearance price was no different than the regular price. I also warn you to make sure that if something is on sale or clearance, you check the tag where it sits on the shelf. I did notice a few items that were stocked behind a clearance tag yet it was not where it was supposed to be. If you don't pay attention at the cash register, you will be paying more for something you think is less. The checkout area was well organized but as always, even if there is one person in line having their groceries scanned, the process is never very quick. I would love for the employee at work just do their job and not make a conversation about how good the groceries are and the whole life story of the customer. This Publix always has the items I need and the managers are always walking around to help if needed to find merchandise. The deli area always prepares fat sub sandwiches for about $11.00. They are not quick making it but the subs are delish. The customer service people are friendly and the FL Lotto lines go quickly. The bakery always smells delish and they will cut any full loaf of bread for you. They have a massive section of energy drinks. Before 5pm weekdays it is an easy in and out. I have NEVER in my life had an experience like the one I just left here in Sunrise. My cashier was Oneil, a young man with a large Afro. I approached his lane and greeted him, he didn't respond but exhaled and sighed loudly. Never looked my way or even acknowledged my presence aside from scanning my 3 items. This Publix is located in the Sawgrass Square shopping center, which is huge...you really can't tell from the road, but the shopping mall is really spread out. Between the smell of nail cleaning products and now the rudeness of cashiers I'm gonna reach out to corporate and let them know how horrible their service is and how they can't keep this place clean. Stephanie an older cashier was super aggressive and rude instead of asking for help bagging she said was forceful with a tone that she was too good to help a customer. Publix has a forever place in my heart. There are way too many memories from my formative years attached to this brand, from high school to college and beyond. It's pure nostalgia for me. This is a bigger store that serves a lot of nearby households, and they've got it all! Full service deli, sub counter, bakery, meat department, dairy, seafood, and pharmacy, and more. This store is well laid out, and products are easily found. It's also nice and spacious, so you won't feel crowded by other shoppers either. All in all, this is the Publix experience I've come to expect, and why they say Publix is where shopping is a pleasure. read more

Pharmacy: The Regional Pharmacy Manager/Team Lead (as of October 2023) -- who is a Pharmacist himself is abrasive, rushy, and arrogant. It seems part of the culture as his subordinates at the Promenade and University/Sunrise locations were equally unpleasant. Approached the team lead, requested some Rx per my doctor recommendation and Pharmacy transfer. Not even a 'Hello ... Good Evening' -- straight to 'What's your DOB, address, first and last name', I responded: 'Do you care anything about care area privacy?' to which he only stared blankly into space as if he was indifferent or never was asked that before. He further went on to say the names of the Rx out loud after sharing my PII -- when I expressed my discomfort sharing it. When he submitted the order, I asked: 'when should I return or will you send an SMS requesting a pick up?' he responded: 'Sometime in the next 3 days, in the morning or the evening, not sure.' I'm like, 'could you provide a shorter window period because I am not local, and may be flying away for a while', but he did not seem to understand that vague answers like what he provided make it challenging to arrange a schedule. He in the moment, expressed his main priority was fulfilling the RSV/COVID vaccines for the children/workers returning for Fall. He also seemed like what ever worker shortage stress that befalls HIM is also stress that random customers as myself should also suffer. All said -- was charged 207% more for Rx than regional benchmarks. And since they do not post their inventory levels to logistics/operation vendors, they can price-set behind the scenes with pharmacy benefit managers or whoever else has vague pricing registers that can be manipulated (i.e., inflated) before sale. Folks like this continue to operate unpunished. Only acting when the AG, FTC, or protection lawyers get involved. read more

This glowing review is mostly for the Publix Pharmacy here at Sawgrass Square, which I'll get to at the end. I've gone to this Publix + Publix Pharmacy for over two years. Service has been the absolute best. I know I'm spoiled here because I don't enjoy going to other Publixes nearly as much. The deli employees have been helpful at suggestions, and the deli is consistently clean. 5/5 stars here. The produce department usually clean. Very occasionally gets flies, but not at a Winn-Dixie level. While I love $5 sushi Wednesdays, sometimes the sushi has too much crunch and spicy mayo on it. And there isn't a divider between the wasabi and sushi, so one or two pieces are always too spicy. And it would be cool if more volume of the white rice sushi variants were made. 4/5 stars here. Some winter days, there's a Girl Scout table outside selling cookies. For these days, I give the store 6/5 stars. Now, the pharmacy: Literally everyone in the pharmacy I've interacted with over the past two years is exceptional at their job and customer service. They're helpful and knowledgeable. And I love that I don't wait long on hold for long when I call a Publix pharmacy, including this one. My passion comes from a recent experience. I have talked with 26 pharmacies today seeking a medication that has a temporary backorder. The pharmacy employees are kind and answer my questions. Their help today was like a hug to my mental health. They've long deserved praise. Alexis, Mike, all of them. This supermarket is tucked in so much so, that most people drive by it and don't know it's there. Located on Flamingo and Sunrise Boulevard, you would only spot it if you went to one of the other stores in the strip, like Hallmark, Dunkin Donuts, or Chili's. It is absolutely wonderful to shop there with clean and spacious aisles, fresh produce, a large bakery, and a cafe. The employees are top-notch, and they are exceeding brand representation as a whole. While this is one of the shortest reviews I have ever written, it nonetheless packs my satisfaction into it, for all the great experiences I've had coming here, and the more I expect to have as I return! read more

One of the best Publix locations in the area! The customer service is on point and the selection of foods is extensive. The employees here are always willing to help and if they see you in an aisle looking lost, they will offer to assist you. Ordered a cake today from the bakery and the team there was really accommodating for all my special requests! It was a flamingo cupcake cake. UPDATE: I really wanted to highlight a situation that occurred in the bakery with the cake. They forgot to work on the cake and when I came to pick it up (2 hours before the party) no one even started on. They apologized and offered to call the baker back (he/she already went home for the day) to have them make the cake or offer me a different cake free of charge. I was a bit furious but overall very pleased with how they corrected the mistake. read more

This is a good sized Publix store. It's bright, clean, well stocked and organized. It's located in a corner end of s busy plaza. However parking is sufficient and the lot is easily maneuverable. I've visited/interacted with all depts. (except seafood) and the staff has been cheerful & helpful each time. I come from the Midwest. Publix is no comparison to Kroger's. I find that Kroger's has a much wider selection of items. As an example I find that Kroger's has a much larger selection of Lactose free dairy products. I will say that the Publix people are very friendly and always try to help. read more

This is a very nice and clean Publix. There was a very young boy making sure all the carts were clean. He was really dedicated to the work. He took a lot of pride in his work. The deli is fantastic here. I am not sure why but I prefer the subs at this Publix more than any other Publix. I think they put on more meat here. The sub is always just right and delicious. They always seem to have enough cashiers unlike the Publixes near where I live. I do think parking is an issue and it is hard to get in and out of this lot. They are right across from Publix so that could be a part of the issue. I always stop at this Publix when in this area. read more

publix midway plaza in tamarac FL has great food and lovely people, however, the deli counter(as in mist publix) has bad service. If you go direct to store you will wait 10-15 minutes before getting help. I actually ordered online due to the long waits. My order was not even started by the 240pm time it was supposed to be prepared. I asked where is my wrap? I ordered for pu at 230p? The did not know? So one of the ladies went searching for it. Mumbled it was someone elses fault. So I said can you make it now?( I had to ask) and finally they started it. I went to shop around while waiting and bumped into the NEW manager. He said he just started and had allot of fixing to do with this deli counter. no free wrap no discount n nothing for wasting 30 minutes of my time. Any publix is great, the food, the cleanliness, and the service. But someone really amazing stands out in the staff and his name is Fidel. Fidel kicks butt, he is always so happy and genuinely friendly. It's unfortunate that this is such a rare commodity nowadays. I respect him for always emitting such a positive attitude and energy. I walked in just like anyone does to a Publix, just to check a few things off my list and be on my way, but Fidel made sure I left with a smile on my face with his greeting and goodbye. Today (1/17/28) while shopping I saw a new product in the vegan area...somehow Publix and the produce managers are confused on what belongs with the vegan products...in this case they have placed products that contain beef bone and fish (cod). No one obviously questioned it. It is hard to write a review for a supermarket, so I will start of saying that this review below is for the deli - the sub area specifically. I have ordered online at several Publix locations, whether it be this one or others, whether it be sandwiches or platters and this is by far the worse. The last several times, my order has been wrong, not significantly enough to complain, but wrong based on very simple things (like asking for only vinegar and getting only oil). I am very easy as I eat relatively veganish and since I hate the hummus they use, I just get a roll with salad and add my own hummus or my own avocado. Today (8/23/2017) I placed my order online at 10:30am to be ready for 12:15p. This would give me time to get from work to the Publix. I got there about 12:13p and nothing was ready - okay, I did ask for 12:15p, so I went and picked out the other items I needed. I came back at about 12:29p and still no sandwich. This sandwich area has a register, so I went and waited on that line to patiently ask about my online order. When I asked about it, the cashier asked to see my confirmation email, which I showed her, to confirm that I placed the order for today & at the correct store. Yep, it all checked out. She proceeded to then tell me that they had some kind of outage. I was okay, what do I do? She asked if I checked the bin. Hmm...why would I wait on line if I checked the bin. I humored her and looked it was not there. Came back, she asked the girl making the online orders & she quickly looked and said, no, I don't have anything. I wouldn't be so annoyed if just one of them would have said, if you wait a moment, I will get your order. Again, rather simple, just a salad on a roll. Nothing special. But NO, neither one of the people behind the counter offered. I went to pay for my other items. I got the "did you find everything you were looking for?" I told her no, but that she couldn't help me unless she was going to go make my sandwich. She asked what happened, I explained, she said she'd tell the manager - uh huh...somehow that doesn't really help me now. I left publix and drove down the block to subway. They were more than happy to make my sandwich and they have better pickles anyway. The only good thing about online ordering at publix is they don't require pre-payment. ***THIS IS FOR THE DELI PLATTER SERVICE ONLY*** I had placed an order through the app for a sub and wing platter. I had called to ask if they could put the lettuce and tomato on the side, because some people don't like that on their sandwiches. I was super nervous that they did not understand what I was asking because there was a language barrier. I went to pick it up this afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. They did put the toppings on the side and the nicest young lady brought my platters out to my cart. Would definitely order from the deli again. As for the rest of the Publix, I would give it 1 star. The quality of the meat and produce department is pathetic. The fruit goes bad within a day of buying it and I have had to return meats twice because they were spoiled despite having 3 more days on the sell by date. The checkout lines are ALWAYS so slow. Today I waited in line 10 minutes to be rung up and there was only one person in front of me who had about $75 worth of groceries (which is nothing at Publix, their prices are awful!) There was no coupon debacle or anything like that, I just think that the cashier was slow, as most of them are. I guess Aldi has spoiled me. read more

I do not suffer fools and I do not tolerate deception. These are my personal twin pet peeves. Be honest. Be transparent. This store advertised a $5 coupon for a popular antihistamine. It required a coupon. No problem, the store always has plenty in a glossy coupon booklet near the front entrance. The only problem was the checkout line. Now, isn't that always the problem. The lure and the catch. Bait and switch. Aren't we consumers absolutely fed up with that bull dung? Now, according to the learned cashier, there was one way to get that coupon to actually work--"clip the coupon online." Never mind that booklet displays the coupon. Is this a violation of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act? Good question for our Legislative Delegation to ponder and, if so, send it to the AG's office. Needless to say, after a little debate, we were able to use the coupon we were promised. But will we be so eager to return to this store? Not likely. Convenience is not everything, folks. Drive a little further. Target is only a few blocks away. And Winn Dixie, whose prices are all around better, is just a few miles to the southeast. Worth the trip. I was so pleased how my sons 1st birthday cake turned out. It was exactly what I wanted when I saw the cake on fb. And at a reasonable price. They charged me $80 and was kind enough to add on a smash cake with Happy 1st Birthday on it. The publix by my house on Cleary blvd wanted to charge $130 and that was without the smash cake. I was happy that I went to other Publix's to compare prices. I'm giving them a 4 only because the cake itself wasn't dead center on the platform that they had it on. So I couldn't place it on a cake display that I had bought since it was a little unbalanced and didn't want to risk it at the party if it had fallen to the side. But other than that I will definitely come back for my sons 2nd birthday cake request. read more

Apparently the cashier, "Navenka," was incensed that I didn't remove the items before placing the basket onto the conveyor belt. Without even greeting this writer, she adopted a sour attitude and stated how what I did was not "easier" for her while continuing to be acrimonious under her breath, and then she began carelessly tossing my items to the more professional youth that was bagging items at the end of the lane. I love shopping at Publix, they have some of the freshest fruits, salads, fish, and meats, and their deli department is fantastic! I have compared some of their meats, and things like their cut pineapple to places like Fresh Market, or Whole Foods, and most times Publix actually has a better product, and definitely at a MUCH LOWER price. read more

Let me start off by saying I love Publix. This Publix is not very friendly in the subs department. Good luck ordering your sub online and having it be ready when you need it. Countless times I have tried to order a sub from this Publix and it is NEVER ready. I come to pick it up and no one is working on to go orders. I end up always waiting 30+ minutes after the pick up time that it states. I only order online when I need it quickly so that I can run in and pick it up. It's NEVER READY. We are new to Florida and I was surprised to see grocery stores selling fresh sandwiches so we decided to give it a try. My husband and I were confused as to what to get but then 2 guys before us ordered crispy chicken tender sandwich so we decided to order the same lol . The sandwich was big, fulfilling and was loaded with crispy chicken tenders. There were veggie options too to add on sandwich. We loved it. I have two Publix Super Markets that are equidistant from my house. I prefer this one. Like most people have said, Publix is pretty expensive, so I avoid doing my groceries here most of the time. BUT if I just need a basket-worth of groceries I will just go to Publix. Also, I find that Publix carries a greater variety of the products I'm looking for. Anyway, I think this Publix does a fine job. The store itself is always clean and the layout is spacious. Products are well-stocked and organized. The employees are typically helpful and courteous. Of course, I've had my occasional eye-roll moment with some of them, but this happens pretty infrequently. I have never had any major issues. Most of my trips to Publix are due to sub cravings. Their subs are good. Their chicken tender sub is amazing--everyone knows that. But all of their other subs are good too. That being said, PATIENCE is like the most important thing you can bring to this experience. Be prepared to wait, especially if you are coming in at peak times (lunch/dinner). I don't get upset about it, because I've never seen them just lollygagging. They're making subs. They're catering to people's picky ass requests. I've literally heard all kinds of ridiculous requests. Whatever, I get it, it's your sandwich, but don't get upset when they're taking their time with the person ahead of you. this publix is one of the best ones i have ever been to. the employees are very helpful and go out of their way to make sure you can find everything you need. the deli manager helped me look for a sauce i was looking for and came with me to look for the item and when we couldn't find it he let me know what substitutions to use. Yoyo was also our cashier and she was very nice asking about our days and even gave us a restaurant recommendations based on our groceries. overall great shopping experience! read more

Excellent LUNCH spot in Sunrise/Plantation. Their deli sandwiches are pure deliciousness. I always go with Boars Head oven gold turkey or honey roasted turkey with honey mustard on multigrain bread. They have all the standard sandwich toppings incl. spinach which I love! The chicken tender sandwich is also to die for. On top of the sandwiches, Publix carries hot baked goods (cuban pastries ftw!) pre-made salads, sushi, and roasted/fried chicken. Furthermore, their prices are really great! Even fast food restaurants can't compete on a price, portion, and quality scale. Publix is part of my weekly lunch rotation and will continue to be as long as we're both around! Tip: Beware of the old ladies that make sandwiches. They operate incredibly slow so just be mentally prepared to exercise a little patience. I got a sub and it was delicious, the girl who made it for me was super nice and there wasn't even much of a line. Along with my sub (buffalo chicken tender sub) I got some souther style potato salad, not the best potato salad but it's better than they other styles they have. My Publix is the best!!!! Isn't that what most people think about their local one? Sure we all travel around and visit other Publix locations from time to time but isn't there just something special about the place that you go to often where you know exactly which aisle to find the sugar and which corner of the store has the produce, bakery and deli? We all know there is a lot of standardization across the Publix brand but each neighborhood brings their own unique qualities that dictate the direction of certain products. Ie if you like Caribbean food, you hope to have a local that concentrates on stocking up plenty in that category, etc. If you're in certain areas of Miami, the labels will most certainly be in Spanish. They know their audience and know how to cater to them. We have been visiting this Publix since 2006, and have pretty much always had a good experience. For me, it comes down to some basic strengths: 1. The layout of the store makes sense - the order and flow is great. I can get in and out in 20 minutes or less with a full shop. 2. The level of service - how cool is it to walk into my local Publix and see the same faces over and over again. I've been greeted multiple times by the GM of the place! I'll engage in random conversations with the bakery people, the produce people, the meat guys, the ladies and gents stocking the shelves, the woman at the front desk doing returns and lottery tickets and the cashiers and baggers that are truly happy to see me again. I feel so welcome all the time. I'm almost always given an extra hand. I'm constantly being asked if I need help finding something. IT's just a level of service that I haven't experienced at other stores and it's no surprise that their staff stays for multiple years. 3. Quality and availability of product - Not all product is exactly the same across brand. As an example, the bread in the bakery can be hit or miss depending on location.
