There is nothing wrong with this location. It's newish. The employees are great. The selection is very good. No, I am writing this new review because of their prices coming out of the pandemic, particularly for meat. Nothing has come down and quite a few things have gone up and I don't think this has anything to do with market forces. Just pure profit taking. They should be ashamed of some of the prices they have in the meat department. I used to look forward to opening my Publix app every Thursday to see what was on sale and making up my shopping list. When the pandemic hit I switched to the delivery app for curbside pickup. Now the regular app doesn't work no matter how many times I have deleted and reinstalled, which is the only advice they give me. The delivery app reflects somewhat higher prices but what's on sale post-pandemic is not much to get excited about, especially the sales on meat. Unless you live off of hot dogs and bacon or other processed meats you are out of luck for much in the way of fresh meat. As a result I only occasionally nip in here on a Wednesday to get the BOGOs (and my wife's favorite 2 fried chicken legs) before they change, mostly when Haagen Daaz pints are BOGO. Until I see some improvement in pricing I shall continue to see Publix as a competitor for Whole Paycheck and Fresh Market. read more

Had a craving for cake, but wasnt really in the mood for an entire cake per say. Publix had a few different cake slices out in the bakery area. So i grabbed everything and had them for my cheat day. They were pretty decent also, wasnt disappointed in the flavors and consistency of icing to cake ratio. read more

This is an older Publix, however they still holds the values that makes Publix a leading supermarket in the southeast. It is a bit off the beaten path, however it serves the neighborhoods here well. read more

Highly disappointed. For some reason Publix Corporate office decided to get rid of the signs on the floor which were meant to minimize the aisles to be packed and improve social distancing. What is the stupid rationale? If Publix corporate does not care about my safety and that of my family, then I will take my business (and what they care the most, my money) elsewhere. You lost a customer who almost spent $$$$ in groceries a month. I applauded them for using the signs. But why stop using them. I will check again Walmart were they seem to care more. The score of one star is b/c of this and is not a reflection on the service received (which is always good) or the overpricing (which is always bad). read more

(This is solely for the deli) As I type this review, I continue to stand in line waiting to purchase a delicious chicken tender sub. I have stood here for close to 30 minutes showing my commitment to this sub. Surely you would think there must have been a long line and more than 2 people in front of me, but alas, there are indeed only 2 people in front of me, getting a total of 3 sandwiches. As I continue to stand here I get lost in thought. I think to myself, "Is the deli not actually affiliated with Publix? Are they a separate corporation that operates independently inside of Publix?" I ask these questions since Publix is such an amazing store to shop for groceries with wonderful customer service anywhere you go- until you go to the deli. Maybe it is for the best that the deli is the way it is because if it was not this slow, I would not have to mentally prepare myself to stand in place for an hour and I would probably purchase more subs that would be bad for my bank account. And for those that put mobile orders in that feel smarter than everyone else, I have tried that and the sub will simply never be ready at the time you choose for always a different reason. Great employees. Excellent service and well stocked selections. Very clean and neat. I would highly recommend this Publix at less busy times. However, who ever designed the parking lot needs to be forced to shop this Publix daily at 5:30pm to be apart of the fiasco. read more

Not the best Publix. Very slow service and not organized! Asked the customer service person for 5 powerball quick picks. Well, instead she put in 6 when told her that was wrong. She told me she could not cancel it and made me pay for the extra. I will not be going here again. Winn Dixie now has my business when I am in town. read more

I walked in Publix to pick sushi, while standing at the counter, to make my selection. This woman walked up in very close proximity. I politely moved over, so she moved near me again. I moved over some more she moved over some more. I said, "you're in my space" she says "where's your name?" I extended my arm out and said, "it's right here," she says to me "you're not a paying customer," I said to her "I am a paying customer." She was talking in a very low voice, so that my voice would be the only voice anyone could hear. She said to me, "who are you antifa." I didn't know what antifa was. I'm African American and she's Caucasian. I informed her that she was a "Karen." I did inform Publix of the situation and I was told they would view the video tape and give me a call back today. After, I finished my shopping, a manager walked over to me and said to me, "you look as though you were looking for something" as if to say I shouldn't be in the store, that's how I felt. This particular location seems like an older, smaller version of the Publix supermarket chain. While I did not have any problems shopping here it just didn't strike me as a location that will ever be updated... I found everything I needed and had a pleasant experience. It's a middle of the road location for me. I do love Publix and would shop here again, I just hope they spend some money to revamp the place sooner than later. read more

Staff always seems irritated and isn't as friendly as one hopes when going into a Publix store. Hope that changes soon especially with the holidays being around the corner. Otherwise this store is always clean and shelves are always stocked so that's a plus! read more

Business as usually with this Florida classic. Great selection of everything from Greenwise, store brand items, and name brand supplies. As is usually the case, don't expect a quick turn around during the lunch hour or dinner hour rush at the deli. Actually, don't expect a quick turn around at all when you hit up the deli at this particular location. Truly a 5 star experience...everywhere except the sub station. Ah the sub/deli counter...I can never get back the time I've spent ordering and waiting for a sub at this deli. The first time I went, I had 1 person in front of me and a large (uncomplicated) order. Yet, it took 30 minutes for me to get these subs (all specials - a chicken tender special, veggie delite, ham, and Italian). I watched in disbelief while the person who was helping me moved as if encased in molasses (paradoxically both slow and careless) while the other deli Publix employee whizzed through 4 others (many with multiple orders). The cherry on top was the grumblings of clear dissatisfaction from the employee helping me. Unfortunately this is not an outlier. Most recently gave the deli another shot but also can out with an extremely disappointing experience. The person at the counter refused to toast one of the subs. While I applaud their consideration of the customers behind me, we all had to wait 15+ minutes, by the time I got home I had to throw that sub out bc the bread was soggy all the way through. I'll guess I'll just have to keep trying, like a Thomas the Engine in the hopes one day...one day I'll have a good deli experience there. #grit read more

just now Employees at deli Dept has horrible attitudes . Not the usual Publix customer service that I am accustomed to. For an instance, I thought I was at a Walmart. They are running special on some kind hot sauce chicken tender sub. Went to the Lake Ella location first but they were out, so I drove up to this location. All I asked is to leave the hot sauce out of my sandwich; they flat out said no. The sauce is in a squeeze bottle, it's not like they have to cook a new batch of tenders or anything. After going back and forth with them for a little. I asked them if they don't mind to lose a loyal customer because of such a small matter. Another deli person chimed in and said:" it's not our problem." I was going to ask to speak to a manager, but in the hind sight I decided not to ; because i thought this could just be the culture and attitude of this store. If this Publix doesn't welcome my dollars , then I simply spend them somewhere else. Long story short, I definitely avoid this store from now on. If I could give zero stars I would! Worst publix I have ever been too. Deli department has terrible attitudes and told me at 6:30 pm that the lone crusty piece of 5 grain bread was my only option. Again, this was at dinner time when they close at 10 and they have the nerve to have one whole piece of bread available. The store has a bakery they could've easily grabbed from. Spoke with the grocery manager who rolled her eyes when I told her I'd call corporate. I will no longer be shopping here and choose to drive 15 mins to a nicer publix than this run down location which is minutes from my house. This is my Publix! A smaller store up in a quiet corner of Tallahassee, this Publix usually has everything I need, with super friendly service. It's probably only a bit closer to me than the Ocala Road location, but I avoid that place like the plague. read more

If you are gonna get a publix sub do not use the online ordering, brave the line and go in. We ordered online for pickup at 3pm, I arrived about 5 mins prior and the subs were ready and waiting the problem arises when I get home and open my sandwich to find it's missing toppings and hardly has any mustard or lettuce on the sub, to top things off it was soggy. I looked at the ticket on the sub and we ordered online at 10am but the ticket was printed at 1:30 does that mean they made the sandwich an hour and a half before the 3pm pickup time? I like shopping at Publix. One thing that could be improved at this location is the Deli. The hot food section is almost always out of fresh hot food items around 5 or 5:30. If anything is there at all it is the left overs from lunch. Not much select from and is often overlooked. I sometimes like to get a hot carry out dinner, but the freshness and selection is such that I often go somewhere else angrier seeing what is available. The sales could be increased if the rotisserie and fried chicken would be kept up. When people stop by after work the food should be ready to pick up and go without waiting. People are often told to come back in 45 min for a rotisserie chicken. Are you serious. read more
