Pucci's is hands down the best pharmacy in town. We have generally dealt with Pharmacist Matt, but both he and all the staff we've encountered have been amazing. First, they have consistently gone above and beyond to solve any problems that come up, be that with medicine accessibility or insurance issues. Every single time, they have not let us leave without some kind of solution, even if it's to call around to find the medicine somewhere else so that we aren't left without overnight, which is pretty important when you're dealing with vomiting kids. The last time I was there, they stayed open over twenty minutes late while they called around and found us what we need, because they wouldn't let me leave empty handed. The only downside is that their hours are more limited, which is because they are one of the last independent pharmacies anywhere. But their over and above personal service and community atmosphere more than makes up for it. read more

I'd like to start off by saying this is not a reflection of the people who have helped me when I've gone in. For the most part, everyone has been personable and friendly, especially one gal, but I can't remember her name. I only have two prescriptions there that started just a couple of months ago, and I was more than happy to have them filled at a local place and support small business. So, you can imagine my disappointment at how quickly things went sideways... On more than one occasion, my prescriptions were filled wrong, and when that happened, I got different answers from different people as to why (on the same prescription). On one of them, it appeared that whoever read the script didn't read it correctly. On one of the days I went in, there was a very nice guy behind the counter who was training and clearly needed some help. It felt like he was left out to dry. Another time, I was standing in what I thought was the line, but apparently not (there isn't signage for the place to queue), and a guy who came in after me got helped first, even though I had clearly been there longer... and then I had to wait for it to be filled, even though it had been several hours since it had been submitted by my doc's office. When a prescription was apparently out of refills, I wasn't notified, nor had they sent in a request to the doc. Luckily, it wasn't for something absolutely critical. Not to mention one of my scripts is literally twice as expensive here as some other pharmacies... I'm not faulting Pucci's for that, but cost is certainly a factor. read more

If you want a hassle about returns, this is the place. They use less expensive plastic bottles for their liquid compounds and the containers leaked on me not once but twice. I called the first time and they said it was not usual and must have been a defect, so try it again this time around.....same result liquid leaks all over the container and leaves a ring of liquid on the shelf. I called again and they offered to replace it with a different smaller container. I think that's a solution, but when I get there for pickup they won't cover the replacement and instead want to charge me a full refill. I explain to the manager that my expectation was not for a refill but for a replacement due to the container. He says he's never heard of it leaking and he's worked there 7 years and doesn't know of any different containers. He wants me to go home and get my container to prove to him that it leaks! I'm walking not driving and have another appointment to get to, so no thanks, I'll just go back to my other pharmacy that has non leaking GLASS bottles. read more

Thank you Pucci's! I have had two pet meds called in. They compound pet meds, and made it taste like tuna for my cat. Also they stayed later to get it to me. I just got my flu shot there and it was really quick. They are extremely knowledgeable about co-pays and how to get medication at lower or reduced rates. Highest quality full-service pharmacy period. Long-time customer (except for several years when my insurance forced me to go to CVS). Current owner, Clint Hopkins, has maintained that excellence. In fact, he was recently awarded Pharmacist of the Year by the California Pharmacist Association. He owns Puccis with his husband Joel Hockman. I can't begin to list the large number of services they provide. I can tell you, for example, that when you receive a pharmacist consultation for a new medication, expect to be informed about much more than what is on the label. I prefer going to small local businesses based on my values and Pucci's fits that well. I receive texts when my prescription is ready and the staff is always friendly. Where I start to struggle is when I have a consultation with the pharmacy regarding new prescriptions. The last two persons were wearing CA Northstate University lab coats, and while they are likely training to earn a PharmD, their knowledge of the medicine prescribed, the needed follow ups, and administration of the treatment is very limited. The person had to ask other staff members and use the computer to get to a semblance of an answer, and would take several minutes for each question. During that time, there were people waiting in line behind me, and to not cause a further wait for everyone, I stopped any additional questions and left. Luckily we live in an information era and I can use online resources, but I still miss working with knowledgeable pharmacists who can provide another layer of information to make me a better patient. My hope is that Pucci's can resolve this gap in their services, because I love every other aspect of their business, or I will need to find a pharmacist who meet my needs. read more

For the second time in a row, my pet's prescription was not filled despite submitting a refill request and having one more refill available. I called the pharmacy to ask what was going on and I was told that despite having one more refill available, they could not refill it without another reauthorization. For the second time in a row, I was given no notice that I need to get a reauthorization despite having one more refill left. I'm out of medications for my dog's epilepsy and now I have to scramble with my vet to get a new prescription authorization. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was placed on hold, and then was hung up on. I'll be finding another pharmacy to fill my pet's prescription. read more

I've been coming to Pucci's pharmacy since I was a child. I love the community at Pucci's with their professionalism and good spirit. I remember as a child walking in and loving the get well cards and gifts to give to loved ones and friends who weren't feeling well. It is nice to know that the feeling is still the same 20 years later. With minor changes and upgrades over the years, Pucci's pharmacy has not lost its finesse. With friendly staff and pharmacists, you feel at ease and satisfied leaving with your medication and/or purchases. If you have any questions, they are always willing to help answer them. Parking is simply right out front and is metered. I've never had a problem parking when I get my medication at Pucci's. Recently, I went into Pucci's Pharmacy to have prescription filled. I was advised before they filled it that there would be a $100.00 co-payment. Recognizing that I was not happy about the cost, Matt the pharmacist, provided options. There are two components to the prescription. He told me that he could fill the prescription purchasing both components separately and saving about $50.00 and having the same result. The inconvenience would be that I would have to give myself two treatments, one squirt from two different medicines vs one squirt from the medicine with the higher copayment. I figured I could handle that and subsequently discovered it was a pretty easy administration. The issue here for me was that Matt and Pucci's Pharmacy have always gone above and beyond to insure customer satisfaction. Of course money is an issue but what was more important to me was that Matt provided me with an option which can be hard to find in many of the large pharmacies these days. Went to Pucci's to get our little ones COVID vaccinated since it's one of the only places we could get a reasonably timed appointment (ie not a month out). It was a great experience, the staff were all friendly and Miguel, RN really went out of his way to make sure the kids were as comfortable as possible. We are so appreciative of all of the work that must have gone in to setting up the vaccinations, particularly for the little ones. Absolutely beyond amazing. The staff is so caring, and it's made getting my medications so simple and Even fun. They do absolutely anything for you, including special needs medications. They're always just a text away, and you can even order same day. I used to dread having to go to Walgreens or CVS, as there was always some kind of problem. All of those worries are gone now, because of this absolutely wonderfully innovative and helpful company. I will never have to worry about going into or talking on the phone with a chain pharmacy again, where the employees and pharmacists are rude and don't give a shit but not my experience with Pucci's. I would give these clowns a minus 1 star if possible. Pucci's has been around a long time, and was recommended to me by several friends. I only rate businesses on my own personal experience and not on recommendations. I went into Pucci's about 3 weeks ago, with my identification, and workers comp. information. I gave all the information to a tech named Emily who put all my information in the system, and advised me that Pucci took workers comp. and filling my orders would not be a problem. About a week later, i went into the pharmacy to speak with a pharmacist who basically confirmed that all of my information was correct, and filling the workers comp. meds would absolutely be no problem. I went into the pharmacy about another week later on July 10, to pick up my meds, and the same clerk Emily advised me that they do not take my workers comp. health plan. The same pharmacist I spoke to earlier also confirmed that their pharmacy did not take my workers comp. health plan. My workers comp. health plan is the County of Sacramento, which all the chain, and independent pharmacies take. These two employees that advised me that they do not take my workers comp. plan are the same two idiots who told me previously that Sacramento County's risk management health plan was totally acceptable to them. I spoke with the pharmacist, and he admitted that he did tell me it was acceptable previously, and that he and the other employee made mistakes in telling me that my plan was acceptable. The clerk (Emily) obviously does not know what she is doing, but their is NO excuse for the pharmacist making the same mistake. Based on my personal experience with this pharmacy it looks like it is run by a bunch of shameless idiots. The pharmacist is as dumb as the clerk. It is a scary thought to think that these people actually fill meds for patients. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THIS PHARMACY LACKS INTEGRITY. Tchau Larry C. read more

There is definitely a reason this place gets 5-star reviews. They have 6-star service and 5-star products. After breaking my foot and getting it casted, I went to a different drugstore to get a cast protector. It developed a small hole after just two uses and leaked water into my cast. Just returning the cover turned out to be an ordeal with that other drugstore. Contrast this with Pucci's Leader Pharmacy. I ended up getting to their store just a couple minutes after their closing time two nights in a row. They let me in both times and had quality products including a cast cover that worked! They have the kind of service you might dream existed in the old days when storekeepers actually seemed to care about doing the little things to make things right for the customer. They opened the door for me to help me out. They were just fantastic. You may pay somewhat more for the products, but you get what you pay for in the overall experience. And what you get at Pucci's is great service and reliable products. read more
