Stopped by Jalisco's for a quick breakfast and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Breakfast Chorizo Tacos, and they really hit the spot. The chorizo was flavorful and just the right amount of spicy, paired nicely with fluffy scrambled eggs and warm tortillas. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Service was friendly and pretty fast, even during the morning rush. The interior has that cozy, no-frills vibe--nothing fancy, but you feel like you're getting an authentic meal. My only (small) knock is that I wish the tacos had a little more filling for the price, but the quality made up for it. Been there a number of times since they changed ownership a few years back. At first the food was very good. As time went on they'd have ups and downs. It's never 'bad' but don't expect great food. Now they have the best lime margaritas in the area! Both frozen and on the ice, Lime flavored are really good and the price is plenty fair. read more

My son was craving birria tacos.. so this is the closest place in Cibolo... he rated them a solid 4/10, my mom got crispy regular tacos and she said it was a 5 or a 6 she has had better. I ordered 2 Piccadillo tacos but one bite and I was good... the flour tortillas that looked like they were home made (I was excited) were sopping wet... the meat had potatoes and what appeared to carrots in them.... The most honest review on here is the one that says "if I could give this place zero stars I would." The enchiladas truly tasted sour-as in the cheese was bad. My husband ordered the tacos and the beef just tasted off. Off to the point that he wouldn't eat them. And this is a guy who doesn't turn his nose up at anything. Then our kids plates were brought out and it was entirely the wrong order and they also tasted rancid. My order was ice cold, as if it had just been brought out of a fridge and placed on the counter. We ended up not eating any of the order but still paid for the plates that were brought out correctly, though we didn't eat them. I have never tasted anything this awful. The convenience of the drive through made us decide to swing by. The kids said their bacon and eggs were great but the order of a 1lb of barbacoa was such a disappointment. More than half of it was pure fat and uneatable. They also forgot a taco in our order. Drive through is not convenient after all... Sad sad day. read more

I don't think I've had Mexican food this bad in the many years I've spent here. Dinner is what I am reviewing today. I had breakfast here once years ago and it was non memorable. This dinner was memorably horrible. Tasteless food. I wish I had taken a picture to show. It was a let down on every level. The service was adequate. No tuning negative, nor exceptionally positive. Except, gee is this place being your own napkins? The puffy taco wasn't so puffy. It wasn't even soft. The cheese enchiladas weren't even melted. The other order was wrong completely. That chicken looked pretty ugly too. The menu through the scanner was atrocious. Hard to navigate, nothing like a normal digital menu. I wish I had listened to that inner voice inside me that told me to leave when I saw how hard and non user friendly their QR-code menu was. I already knew it, but as we left. We have tried this place few times but every time it is getting worst. This last time Tuesday we went there for lunch. the food had not teste and salsa as well had no flavor at all. just to top it off, when I went to pay, I noticed that without even asking, they have tagged a 4% charge for paying by card. I know in 80's and 90's most people used to carry cash but now a days everything is going digital and card is the only way consumers are using. If bank is charging the retailer for usage of debit or credit card, that is part of the business expense. Also most other places they charge 3% and not 4% which I still don't agree with it any way. To bring this to closer, charging fee for using debit cards is taking away from leaving tip for wait staff. And plain Jane, the owner is STEALING FROM WAIT STAFF. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. My family and I thought we'd give them a shot as there's always cars there. We were greeted and told to sit wherever we wanted. I overheard there was a change in management so I thought we were safe. My husband ordered a burrito and asked for everything in the burrito including lettuce, tomatoes, everything. It had a small piece of lettuce and a small tomato. The beef was dry and lacked flavor. I asked for one enchilada and a side of beans. I got a full plate with rice and 3 enchiladas. The enchilada sauce tasted like how mop water smells. My husband was already annoyed so I tried hard to eat it, but just couldn't. The beef picadillo had no flavor at all. Rice was dry and beans were just about the only thing edible. Not good, but edible. My son got tacos and the chicken again lacked flavor and was dry as can be. There's a reason why they serve you 30oz beverages. Looking around the table tops are clean, but avoid looking at the rest. Years of crusted God knows what. One of today's specials, poblano beef fajitas with a white yellow cheese sauce and mushrooms with drink $7.39. The portion was huge. Just like my dictate about never getting a one or two meat plate at the barbecue restaurant and by the meat by the pound, never get the two Taco special because it's the same price as the scattered meat on the plate, and they tend to overfill it and they give you the tortillas anyway. The fairly spicy poblano infused queso was absolutely delicious and creamy. The fajitas came with onions and surprisingly mushrooms along with some beautiful beef fajita. It wasn't exactly what I would call fork tender but it wasn't gristly. The same plate for this size portion would be about $13.99 at the Cafe in New Braunfels. The beans were very creamy and had a great bacon flavor. The rice was Bland but was very moist and flavored well with the salsa from the chips. Came here looking for authentic Mexican food. Ordered the pozole and it was good. The enchiladas Verdes could be more flavorful. Ordered an order of mixed tortillas and for a corn tortilla there was a tostada. Asked for "corn tortillas " and finally got a homemade item! Went here because I've read so many people saying it is a good place to eat. Well either it was a bad day to go or everyone's tastebuds lied to them. I ordered a carne asada. It came with cactus on top of the meat. I had beans, guacamole, salad and pico de gallo. The amount of meat that was served was very small. My tortillas were cold. I had a plate full of veggies and beans. Which were just ok and lack seasoning. My son had a quesadilla it was huge. It came with rice, salad, guacamole and sour cream. I have to say this was a better choice than my carne asada. It still lack flavor. My daughter ordered the fish and shrimp. Which was ok. She said it didn't have any flavor as well. She did eat what she can because we didn't want the food to go to waste. My husband ordered the fish with rice and fries. He said it was ok as well. He did eat it because he also didn't want it to go to waste. I went through the drive thru this morning. I had ordered one taco but there was a miscommunication and the lady thought I ordered 8. She had already ran my card so when she handed me the cash difference, she had an attitude. I then asked for a hot sauce and she rolled her eyes at me. I told her that she didn't have to be rude to me. She said , "this is the second time there has been an issue with you in the drive thru but that's fine." She then slammed the window shut. I have never had an issue with any of my orders until today so I have no idea what she is talking about . I eat here almost every day because it's on the way to work and they are usually super quick. I love this place and have been eating here for years. I recently left to go to college and no longer live in the are but every time I visit San Antonio I drive all the way to cibolo just to get a taste of this authentic delicious food. The breakfast tacos are big. I tried the potato and egg and bean and egg. Yummy. I liked how there were big pieces of scrambled egg. I don't like it when the eggs and beans or chorizo are so well blended, perhaps even cooked together that you can't distinguish between the two flavors. It ends up tasting like chorizo flavored egg or bean flavored egg. Me no likey. My son tried the pancake breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon. The pancake had a nice vanilla flavor. My husband tried the taco salad. He thought it was good but his one complaint was the taco shell was overfried. It was brown instead of golden. He didn't eat it. TLDR: I got poisoned. So at the time of dining, the hours listed were that they close at 9 pm, the time was 730p. When we drove up it seemed like some lights were off but there were cars in the parking lot and the open sign was lit. I walked in and asked what time they close and they said 9 but they were going to close at 8 since it was a slow night. I said something to the effect of "oh, okay then I don't want to keep yall and we will try again another day" but the lady I was talking to said it wasn't a big deal and that since we were already there, they would accommodate us, so we decided to stay. we rushed to order since we didn't want to keep them. I got the 'fantastic chicken' (just crappy chicken with cheese on top) and my partner got a torta. the food was mediocre for the price but we didn't want to complain since they were trying to close soon. (we had already decided we wouldn't come back). about 30 minutes later, after leaving, my stomach started to hurt and within an hour and a half, I was experiencing full-on diarrhea. My partner was also having gastrointestinal difficulties. I whole-heartedly believe they poisoned us because they wanted to leave early and we were keeping them from that. Popped in for a mid-afternoon meal after finding a place down the street closed at 3 PM. Good thing too. Nachos and salsa were fairly standard, and good, as were the cheese enchiladas. The beef, chicken, and shrimp fajitas came in a very generous 1/2 pound that I could almost bet was close to a pound! It came in a sizzling skillet with deliciously sautéed onions and green peppers. The only downside was that the flour tortillas were a little on the thick side. Normally I'd like that but for fajitas it took quite a bit of contents to make the tortilla shell not dominate. Fortunately, with the generous helping of fajitas that was more than doable! As pointed out elsewhere this Jalisco's isn't to be confused with the other one nearby on 3009 (Roy Richards). My favorite el charro restaurant was closed so my bf and I decided to come to the next closest Mexican restaurant. I really wanted a torta but we get to this place and they didn't have no more tortas. So I just asked for a regular cheeseburger with fries. My son asked for two bean n cheese tacos and my bf filete de pescado. Gotta say the food is bland. My cheese in my burger was shredded cheese. N my sons bean n cheese weren't the greatest. The food was so bad I don't even know where to start. I ordered 4 mini chicken street tacos and they were the worst tacos I've ever had. The chicken was obviously frozen chicken breast tenders, not even cut up in to little pieces. They could have least made them look like street tacos. The chicken breast wasn't even seasoned :(.
