However, I believe that the services provided by Hafey Funeral Service merit a positive review as I never experienced anything negative with them. Brian at Hafey Funeral Service is a wonderful man to have by your side when planning your loved one's funeral. As well as personally receiving great service for my loved one provided by Brian and his staff, I have also witness great things from Hafey during funeral services of close family friends. I was not disappointed by Brian as the fee for his service is very affordable and he is not pushy as to persuade you into getting the premium package because everything he does IS the premium package. He is very professional, empathic, and comforting; which are GREAT qualities of a top notch funeral director who can be entrusted with carrying out your loved one's funeral. He even take care of the slightest things that are often overlooked. Additionally, he is wonderful at understanding funeral rites of various cultures and he has the space within his funeral home in order to carry out such rite. I remember being at a Catholic Mass at one wake and then being at a Buddhist prayer ceremony for a close friend's grandmother at a different wake. The space in the viewing room of the funeral home is very versatile and can be accommodated to fit any cultural need. In addition to having the space, Hafey also has the material to carry out a certain culture's funeral rite. In particular, I remember Hafey providing a large incense urn since it is common practice to use incense to pray for the deceased in Asian cultures. Furthermore, Brian will go out if his way to make sure everything is perfect because he understands that this is the time for the family to grieve and he doesn't want to them to feel added stress. There was initial confusion over the pre-plan, and the grandmother of the family-owned business was rude, uncooperative and cold. The funeral home is plain and poorly staffed. The burial site ceremony was poorly prepared with no seating for elderly family members. There was no communication with pall bearer roles creating confusion after the service. After the event, we found out that they never submitted the death certificate to the city, and we had to follow up on it. Overall, a very disappointing and painful experience.
