The Bill Fraud: The final bill totaled $597. When I inquired about the exorbitant cost, the company provided a breakdown that confirmed they are padding their hours at a premium rate: * Labor Charged: 2 hours at $280/hour = $560 * Actual Labor: 40 minutes The company attempted to justify the 2-hour charge by claiming this premium labor rate covered the time he spent driving to the store to get materials and carrying his supplies in and out of my home. These are standard overhead costs that should be built into a competitive service fee, not billed at $280 an hour. They are fraudulently inflating the labor hours to justify a flat-rate price. A fair bill, based on their own hourly rate for actual service time (1 hour max), should have been approximately $300 (1 hour labor + tax). Refusal to Resolve: After I contested the padded bill, the owner offered vague excuses about company overhead and even tried to claim the full charge was justified. He ignored the key fact that he had originally quoted me a lower estimate of $400. When I sent a final offer to resolve the matter by paying $300 (a $300 refund), the company ceased all communication, effectively admitting they were unwilling to correct a confirmed case of overbilling.
