I can't say enough good things about Linda and the staff at Pulcinella! We came in on a Saturday night with a party of 20 (no easy feat!) and we were treated like family from the second we walked in the door. Linda had even decorated the head chair in a bridal theme with floral arrangements since I mentioned this was a bachelorette party. Tried this restaurant for convenience and was pleasantly surprised! Service was great- waitress was knowledgeable and pleasant- did not rush my friend and I but did not 'forget ' about us either! We got the kale salad to start- it was large enough to share and was not overly dressed- nice start to our meal. We then shared the al tartufo pizza which is white pizza with mushrooms, truffle oil and arugula. I understand restaurants get busy but our experience last week was unacceptable. We made a reservation for 5 people early in the week, but when we arrived they couldn't find it. They were also having problems finding other reservations as well. Then they took us to a table in a little wine closet and said that they would open the door to make room since it was too small. It would have cozy for 2 people but was super tight for 5. We were seated on folding chairs that were too low for the table. Then they couldn't get the door open so we just stayed cramped. throughout the night we were asked to get wine for the waiters and waitresses. When you're a fully paying customer you should be treated as such. At the very least we should have been offered a drink or something to apologize for the inconvenience. We have now visited Pulcinella 3 times & each time was better then the first & the first visit was wonderful. The bar area is warm any friendly. Reminds you of a neighborhood tavern of old. We have had chicken, seafood and beef entrees and all were well prepared, nicely presented and excellent. Also I think more then ample portions. I don't write reviews too often but I have to say, Pulcinella knocks it out of the park. Pulling up, you wouldn't expect such a quaint little restaurant tucked in between random retail stores. They no longer take reservations but it's not necessarily a bad thing as people were calling far ahead, leaving no availability for anyone else on the weekend. I had the frutti di mare (seafood) risotto and it was honestly one of the best risotto dishes I've had in a long time. Too many restaurants focus on the risotto and skimp on the seafood itself. This was perfectly portioned and there was certainly an ample amount of seafood. My wife got the branzino which was equally delicious. The only problem is that they must have forgotten to put in her order so it came late. But they quickly fixed the issue and didn't charge us for the dish. The restaurant is extremely charming and the owners seem like delightful, warm people. Highly recommend you give this small Italian restaurant a try! read more

My wife and I went to Pulcinella's on Monday, 11/5/16. We met another couple there for dinner. Our friends had been to Pulcinella's before and told us that the food was good and they had a great happy hour. The restaurant is located in a plaza and is divided up into two sections, the bar area and the dining area. We sat in the bar area to take advantage of the happy hour specials. We were promptly greeted by our waitress for our drink order and service was excellent throughout. The happy hour menu consists of two pizzas, wings meatballs, a fried dough with sauce and some other items. We ordered the margherita pizza ($5), meatballs ($5), and two martinis. The pizza was very good. The crust was light and the sauce was not tart and not too sweet. There were dollops of fresh mozzarella on top. The meatballs came in a small bowl with sauce and a slice of bread. The meatballs were tasty and good size. I enjoyed using my pizza crust to get every ounce of the sauce the meatballs were in. My wife and I enjoyed the meal and it was plenty for two people. Best if all the whole thing came out to be $25! Not bad for a Monday night out! And apparently others know about this great happy hour because the restaurant was busy, like it was Friday or Saturday night. My only complaint was that it was really hot inside the restaurant. So, if you go, dress lightly. Other than that, great food, great price and great service all equal 5 stars to me. read more

Save all of you the horror of dining in this establishment. My wife and I chose this place because it was 4 stars and we live in Brookfield, so we were hoping we could make it our local spot. We love Italian, spanish, pizza, seafood, etc... andddd our son and daughter in law found out they were pregnant! So we all decided to go there for dinner to celebrate. There were 5 of us. Called days before and on the day to confirm we were coming. We arrived and waited in the tiny, strangely corralled hallway for many minutes, where we smelled something rotten. We waited a long time, which is strange, because we were in full view of all of the waiters at the waiter station and the bar. There were very few people in the restaurant eating and two or three at the bar so it was a very light crowd. Not sure why it took so long, but we didn't complain, we all just sat down after 15 mins standing up. We ordered drinks and they came 20 minutes later! Some of us wanted lemon water and were scoffed at for asking the waiter!!! No big deal we've had rude waiters before we pressed on. Our food came lukewarm. My sons meal was raw when he had specifically asked for well done. Meat this raw is dangerous, especially for pregnant woman. My daughter in laws meal was raw when she had specifically asked for well well done. Same for mine. We asked if they would mind putting them back in the oven for a few, very politely and at that point the waiter started arguing with us and saying that we had ordered it in a different way!!! We have all as a family decided not to eat anything unless it's well done!!!! so it is nearly impossible that anyone of us had ordered something in any other way because we just never do that for health reasons. We decided that years and years ago. There was blood or what looked like blood on a number of pieces of silverware and we asked if they would replace them they did, again scoff, scoff. The bathroom was wet and very smelly not like someone had just used the bathroom but like mold. Like a gym locker room. All of us were dissatisfied with the quality of the drinks that were brought, except our pregnant daughter who ordered water, they were extremely watered down not to mention very, very pricey. We ordered two pizzas for the table and they were greasy and the dough was very raw. We gave up at this point. Already been there for 2 1/2 hours and nothing was good. It smelled like something had died underneath our table and when we mentioned this we were told, "we don't smell anything" The place is a disaster please save your money and order in. I don't know who's running the kitchen but they clearly don't know what goes into their own entrées. I could go into every entree but the last visit prompted me to write the review. We lowered our expectation this visit. I ordered the Chicken Milanese. Breaded chicken, chopped tomatoes and arugula. They can't screw this up, right? Half the table got pizzas and the other half got entrees. The pizza was delicious, and it was cool seeing the pizza oven in the back of the room. I have frequented this restaurant often over the past few years. The waitstaff is always courteous and helpful. The food is pretty good. At my last visit, my waiter wore a mask and provided paper menus. The hand sanitizer and outdoor tent provided a safe environment to eat. I was however, beyond disappointed when I saw the hostess or owner not following the recommended safety guidelines for mask wearing. She had a "masquerade" type mask on a stick that she carried around and placed in front of her face when she seated patrons. What?! If you are familiar with how Coronavirus spreads you know that doesn't qualify as a mask as it provides ZERO protection for yourself and others. If there is a medical reason that she could not wear a mask, she should be doing something different and not putting others at risk. I want to support local businesses but I do not feel safe eating here now and will not go back until every employee is following the recommended safety guidelines to protect their patrons. read more

Everyone in our party did not show up, so she found it necessary to make us all move so that she capfuls take a small two-person table to use. We had been seated in the restaurant side and then asked about ordering off of the happy hour menu. We were told that we could only order off of the happy hour menu in the bar, so our waiter walked into the bar and told us to go stand by a table that people were about to leave from. We sat down after the people got up, and a waiter came over to clean off the table. A few minutes later, the hostess came over to our table and asked us why we were sitting at that table. She was rolling her eyes, presenting an unwelcoming attitude, and making us feel like we were not wanted. She then told us that we shouldn't sit there. We told her that the dining room waiter told us to sit here and she was cutting us off to keep asking "who, who?" She even brought two male workers to our table and asked us if either of them were the waiter that told us to sit there. Extremely unprofessional and unwelcoming. About 20 minutes later, the hostess came over to our table which was actually 2 smaller tables put together and said she needed to take one of them and set up another table. She didn't ask if we would mind, or act apologetic. Before we all moved to the one table, the hostess had already quickly taken the other one to seat another group. There were 5 people in our group and now three of us were squished on the bench side because the hostess took one of our chairs and never returned with another one. The happy hour prices and selection are great to share with a group of people. We unfortunately just had a very negative experience with the hostess. read more
