Do not recommend. The first room is dark and dingy. It's time to update. The first room blow up thing is useless. The first ball is flat making it impossible for kids to get to other side to go down slide. The kids we took were 10 and 11. Not for smaller kids at all. Our 10 year old fell through a hole inside of one of the jumpers. So dangerous. It's cheap but if they'd just improve the equipment people would pay more money. We were only people here for Glow Jump. Anyway don't expect anything great. If you own this place. Time for a remodel. Won't be back. Booked for 4 year old birthday party. Disappointed as this place is pretty run down. There are about 10 jumping blow ups, several over priced, games, candy machines, massage chairs, etc. For the price maybe some tokens would be nice. There are much better places for children's activities between Tacoma and Federal Way. 2 rooms, 30 mins each then 50 mins in birthday room. There is no time for tardiness, being late as times are stringent. Bring your own food, cake, etc. Birthday room time includes, set up, party, clean up. So no time for barely anything. read more

Went here for a birthday party....not for me. Great experience. We were greeted, given a quick safety brief. Signed a few waivers for the kiddos. And let loose on the activities. I will say that the employee there was very engaging and did his best to get the kids going and having fun. And. He was not hovering or in the room which I liked. He led us to one room, set us loose. Led us to the other room after a period of time. Set us loose. Then led us to the birthday room. The birthday room was pretty small but it worked and what's important is that all the kids had a blast. I would go here again or recommend it to a friend with little ones. Adults cannot use the voice stuff but there are seats and massage chairs all around the area so you can sit and relax and watch kids go bonkers. The wave/wind machine is 2$ a pop I think? Absolutely saved the day for my daughter's 7th birthday. Where to start... today we had planned to have my daughter Brooklyn's 7th birthday party at Defy in Tacoma. We pulled into the parking lot & were greeted with pretty much the worst possible thing for our situation- Water pouring out of the building down the street & firetrucks in the parking lot. A water main had just burst & flooded the building. What. A. Nightmare. So basically my daughter's day she'd been planning with 15 of her best friends was about to be scrapped. No one's fault but absolutely horrific luck. In a moment of frantic brainstorming we decided to call Pump It Up of Tacoma to see if by some miracle the kiddos could at least get some fun in together & the day could somehow be salvaged. They Saved. The. Day. With only about 30 minutes notice they were able to accommodate the entire party of about 30 people with a full jump package, a party room, pizza & drinks. Jalen & Ashley were PHENOMENAL with literally no time to prepare. My daughter & ALL her friends had an absolute blast & she's still walking on clouds. We have been twice for my sons birthday. The staff are very friendly and the place is clean. My favorite aspect about renting for a birthday party is that we get the whole space to ourselves. It's amazing!! The kids had an absolute blast. The attendant was very attentive. Love it here! read more

We purchased the classic party package for 10 kids and paid extra for two add ons, air hockey and glow sticks with lights off. 15 minutes in the first room,  one of the kids told me there wasn't a puck for the air hockey. I asked the attendant for it and he asked if we paid for it. After telling him "yes, we purchased the add on" he got it for us. After being in the second room for maybe 5 minutes, I again had to approach the attendant for the flow sticks. When I set up our party room, all the items we brought were in the room except our two 2 liters of soda and a box of Capri sun. I had to approach the front desk and explain what we were missing. So then we go into the party room and after twenty minutes we realize the TV is black. There should be a photo slideshow of my daughters party from the two rooms showing. I again went to the front desk to see what was going on. After the party I expressed my dissatisfaction with a young man that identified himself as the manager. I requested a refund for the add ons and he said he doesn't have the authority. I then asked for his supervisors name. He handed me a card with a name and number. We have rented a lot of facilities alike, or so we thought, but this facility had some unique and creative qualities we really liked and appreciated. Great staff especially Nicole and Anton. Really liked the 2 rooms (rotating rooms experience) to keep the attention and excitement for the kids and keep 2 parties able to be moving at the same time- brilliant. Also loved the extra adult amenities in the rooms like massage chairs, tables and chairs for comfort for the parents and games like air soft and vending machines with toys. Loved the arcade style games scattered about too. We played those a lot. More variety than I have ever seen and well placed around the rooms. Loved the waiting room for keeping the party together so everyone isn't lingering in the main foyer crowding the space while you waited for the guests before starting the safety video. Really duel purposed and functional Loved love loved the dedicated cart for cake and food & the separate cart for presents what a stellar idea to help parents and keep things organized and personalized. When we entered the food room everything was laid out so nicely and ready to go which was relieving and relaxing. Really great business model this place has and we will definitely be going back soon as well as doing open jump experiences as they are affordable and the location is great with ample parking and super easy to get to. A really fun party place for kids! I came here with my step-son who was invited to attend a friend's birthday party. The staff moved the party along through a couple different rooms after so much time had passed. The adults were allowed to play with the kids. First there were slides that went from the floor to the ceiling to slide down. Then there was a boxing ring with gigantic, soft boxing gloves. They had a room with safety googles for the kids to shoot plastic balls at one another through air pumped toy guns. They also had air hockey, regular bounce houses, and more. All of the kids, from ages 6 on up to teenagers, had a blast. So did the parents! The last part was going into a room with a big "throne" for the birthday girl to be sung to where she received a tiara by the staff. They brought in pizza and cake, and she opened her presents. This place is awesome! Sometimes I feel like I have trouble finding fun things to do with my child. It gets boring doing the same things every day, and since its Washington, most days it's too cold/ rainy to go to a park or do too many outside activities. This place was A GOLDEN FIND! We had our sons party here last weekend. The good- the kids had fun playing and the attendant was very nice and deserves to work at a nicer place. The bad: the owners are ripping people off by padding sales tax and charging triple the amount of sales tax for Pierce County and applying a "service charge", which is not mentioned anywhere on the website. I called and spoke to "Mona" who said she wasn't the owner, but the "General Manager". When questioned about the random service charge-she stated the additional charge is not on the Websjte because they're "updating it" and the service charge is to help with the rising cost of minimum wage and supplies. Mona was not helpful and defended their position to rip off their customers. We won't be returning. It's a bummer when owners rip off their loyal customers and nickel and dime people. read more

We just had my sons birthday there and it was a blast. This was my first time hosting a party at a venue like this and I couldn't believe how smooth everything went. Quick and easy. The staff was nice, friendly and very helpful. The place was clean and they were very organized. My guest have all shared how much they liked it. The party room is a tad bit tight but I expected it to be when we had more adults than kids. They allowed us to bring in our own food and drinks which is great and assisted me through every step. Not friendly staff, they only care if you're there for a party. They make you fill out a internet form every single time you attend, and it doesn't remember your info. So with multiple kids it gets time consuming. They will shut down half the place if they have a party, even if you've paid for the hour and a half. They throw parties at the same tone as open jump, which leaves open jump with 3 yes three things to jump on. Possibly more annoying is the lack of seating. There are a couple hard metal benches, then like a dozen massage chairs, that set off an alarm if you don't pay to sit in them. So you get to sit on hard metal for the duration you less you want to pay to sit. It's greed personified. Ohh yeah, don't dream of interacting with your kids. The employees might not be easy to find, but if you get on an inflatable with your kid they will be quick to shout you off. We had my daughter's 7 bday party here, we had about 15 guest and it was so much fun for parents and kids, we got the rooms private to ourselves, parents were jumping and racing with the kids, building stuff with the big blocks and then next was the most fun of all, NEON lights on the other room (lights went off), bigger slide, the father's were of course trying to prove themselves to reach the highest point of the slide (to what you have to jump up to and stick a little flag w/Velcro) the kids had neon light necklaces, and there was a touch screen on the floor for games, it was just great!! Then we went over to the cake time, I brought my own care but bought their pizza and drinks and all that (I did brought my own goody bags) the staff set up everything and serve the food to the guest too, they help daughter open presents and keep it all arranged nicely, the lights went off for the candles part, and they helped me hand out the goody bags at the end of the party, time wise, it was perfect, kids got to play, run around, eat and get tired. The kids at the end LOVED it!! so much a couple of them went back to do their parties there too! Price wise was worth it for me to have peace of mind and worry about nothing but to get the child there and enjoy the party with her, make sure everyone brings socks, and your own camera, yes they take pictures there but its not the best pictures.. lol sorry its just not memories quality, not to blame the staff because its hard to catch up with everyone Pumped up!! lol read more

I held my daughters 2nd birthday at this facility this past Sunday 3/19, and the service was HORRIBLE. Not only did I pay $300 and you no longer provide pizza and drinks. The staff there DID NOTHING! Besides tell us when to switch rooms. I had my 12 year old son's first 8 years of Parties here and it was never like this. The staff helped with food, presents, set up plates on the table cups, etc. the service i received was the absolute WORST! I had to come out of the party room to ask if they still helped. And the answer was "if you need it". I am disgusted with the service the staff and the facility especially for OVER $300!!! On top of that I didn't receive the free jumps for booking there either nor was I helped out with the rolling bin for gifts I was told "you can roll this out to your car with you". This is the best place in town for kids' events! The owners are customer-service-minded, they hire folks who are all-smiles and very caring & respectful to both grown-ups and children. Check-in was a breeze as they have 3 iPad-size computers on the wall for guests to electronically sign-in & authorize wavers and then you jump in line to quickly pay as your info is linked to their cash register screen & they address you by name! Very well-run and extremely organized. The staff knows how to throw parties and balance the rooms according to safety and flow. Pizza is delivered fresh from a local business. Do not take your children here for parent date night. It's an absolute joke. We have now rake. Our children 2 times (we wanted to give them a second chance). Neither time, was there a staff member present to watch the parents night our children at the designated check in time. People come in and out of the building at any time and can take your children and no one would ever know. This is a serious issue and safety precaution parents. DO NOT trust these people with your kids. They don't even have staff to watch your children. There is open jump during this supposed parents night out event and there are random people of the public in there. Secondly, they are supposed to feed the kids with juice and pizza. Guess what?!!! Both times there was no pizza or juice given to my children!! I was mad the first time but they made excuses so whatever. We tried it again and NEVER will be back and that's why I'm here warning all of you. My child told me my youngest was crying for me the whole time. The employee tried to make some BS excuse about the pizza running late, the employee didn't even know time the event started or ended. We expected it to be lame like for little kids. But it wasnt. At first you walk into lots of bubbles seems annoying. Then you see all the fun blowups tbey have. One is like from wipe out show. The balls you try jumping accrossed. After we took a group photo we starred walking into another room at that point both kids thought the fun was over. It WAS NOT! This place is a lifesaver. We first went on a random day with our four-year-old daughter. We paid for her to get in and we could both jump, as well. It was so fun! Since then, we have taken her to Pump It Up for spring break Camp, parents night out on Fridays, and have invited friends to go along numerous times. Today the morning of the party they called to confirm even after all the snowfall. At 2:30 we got a call canceling the 6 o'clock party however they refused to give a refund saying they would only reschedule.We already had our four-year-old daughter's birthday planned for a little over two hours later clearly rescheduling at that late of time was not an option. Let me start with, if it wasn't for a birthday invitation, we wouldn't have ever went here; based on the reviews before mine. As they say, don't believe everything you read; except in this case, you best believe it all. The place is super small, there's a small area with 4 inflated jumping areas, all which have seen better days, and definitely needed to be updated. For the price they charge, it isn't worth it at all. The smell inside is worse than a sweaty locker room, it's filthy, could've used a god vacuum and a ton of bleach. The bathrooms are right across the hall - DISGUSTING!!! We were there for 2hrs and they were beyond filthy!!! I took my kiddo there once, turned out and walked out, and drove to Ross on the other side of the building and used their bathroom. Came back, and specifically went and checked if they cleaned.. nothing, it was beyond gross. Finally got a hold of one of the staff members, told her it was gross, her response?? *eye roll, "well I just walked into there 5 minutes ago, it was clean". No way you did dear, no way in hell!! I'm all for hiring teens and what not, but Lord, leave the attitude at the door and be a tad more professional, and do your job. The party rooms are a whole other story! So small and cramped as well, smelly, not clean, extremely hot in them. When the party had 20 min to go still, the manager was so rude and talked crap (walked out to the front to answer a call, and overheard her entire conversation with the "helper" assigned to the party), beyond unprofessional!!! We just celebrated my daughter's 8th birthday here over the weekend. The staff was friendly and professional and the facility was clean, we've been here several times just for fun and for other kids' parties before but this was our first birthday party here. I won't do it again. The party was advertised as $280 for 15 kids, and after taxes, "fees" and gratuity, it was $350. That price did not include any food and I was told it included a "jug of water". I wrongly assumed this meant a pitcher of water to quench the thirst of 15 kids that just played their butts off. Nope, it was a 1.5 liter bottle of Arrowhead water... for 15 kids. We ended up having to pay $10 to get 2 more bottles of water so we had enough. I figure a $350 party should include water... what the heck?? Honestly $350 should have at least included food, water, and lemonade in my opinion. The party was at 10am and I didn't want to feed the kids pizza that early which is what their food option is, so I asked if I could provide my own food (healthy morning snacks - fruit tray, string cheese, etc). They said yes but that there would be a $40 (yes FORTY) fee. I understand a fee if they have to clean up after food we didn't buy from them, but maybe $10 at the most would be acceptable since they already have to clean the room after cake, etc. A fun place to play, but wouldn't recommend having a party here due to their crazy pricing structure and not even providing water to the children. read more

My daughter broke a bone here last week. While it was an accident, I'm disappointed in how Pump It Up handled this. They didn't get any information at the time of the injury and when I emailed to let them know what happened, they didn't even bother to respond. My daughter just had her 10th birthday party here and she and her friends had an amazing time. That's what it's all about, right? Right. Given that we have a lot of weird food issues - allergies, some kosher family members, others just plain picky - we brought our own cake and planned the timing so we weren't hitting meal time. They provided plates, cups, napkins, and forks. Right away, everything was very easy for us. There's a bin to put the gifts in as you come in with your kid's name on it. No hauling stuff around - they roll it all for you. They have a rolling cart to hold all the random junk kids seem to haul around, a shoe/coat cubby rack that rolls from room to room with you. You check in a few minutes early, so one of the party hosts came to play a few games in the waiting area with kids that were there on time or early. They show the kids a short video with the playing rules (which gathered a lot of "aw, man!"s from the kids in our group - no running up the slide is apparently a major bummer) and then you're off to the first play space. The first play space seems designed to be fun for everyone but especially to wear out any smaller kids in your group. We didn't feel rushed at all but maybe that's because we were there at a non-prime time. There's a $2 wind tunnel that your kids are going to beg for cash for, so be sure to bring a few ones. We didn't tell the kids in advance that there were two play rooms, so when the party host announced that it was time to move on, the kids were super-excited - there's a whole 'nother room!? And indeed, there is. This one seems a little more geared for the bigger kids - a post-the-flag wall you have to run up, a climbing wall with a taller slide, and a smaller inflatable in the middle that will handle the (probably tired) little kids. It works as planned, if that's the case, because the littles in our group tried out the bigger things but then stuck with the smaller inflatable and the projector game on the floor, giving the bigger kids space to be a little more rambunctious. All of the kids were red-faced, tired, and thirsty by the time we hit the party room. It wasn't difficult to keep them quiet for cake and present opening and everyone was happy to head out to the cars and head home. Best of all? No clean up. No mess. No fuss. It was, by far, the calmest kid's birthday I've dealt with as an adult. Some of the adults even participated - way less awkward than standing around one of our living rooms. I'd love to see a clearer indication of where the bathrooms are, more clarity on how to get more of basic things (like water for very thirsty, tired kids,) and some up-front information on the pictures they take. I had to ask about the pictures (and was more than happy to pay the $10 and tax for them, they got some great pictures while I was busy helping out with my little guy.) Small things, in the scheme of a kid's birthday, where so much can go wrong and tears are the last thing you want. None of those here. read more

This place is rad. I used to take the boys i nannied here aaaalll the time, it was ALWAYS their first choice of places to go play, indoor & outdoor. I think it's best for ages 5-8 or so but of course a wider range will also enjoy. Probably not best for kids under 3. The boys loved that they would allow adults (me) to play on the bounce structures alongside the kids. As long as the adults are mindful of the kids also playing, I have never seen an issue arise. My daughter had her birthday party here. I will start with the fact that it is expensive if you want the full party experience. We added the bubbles, glow party, and piñata and it ended up being about $450.00 on a Saturday, plus tip. The piñata is not worth the additional price. It had about 12 pieces of candy in it. Don't do the piñata. The bubbles and glow stuff was really cool though. The glow was my favorite. Even though it was expensive, it was really worth it. The kids had an amazing time and even the adults. The two rooms are so cool. The party staff was super nice and did a great job hosting the party. It was so much fun. Went here for a birthday party- these people are on such a tight schedule that you feel rushed out of your birthday party. They were playing music throughout the building, one of the rooms we were in had a busted speaker, and it made it almost unbearable to be in that room. the party room is tiny as well. there are other venues similar to this that provide a better bang for the buck. read more

We have been to Pump It Up many times! We've gone for multiple birthdays as well as hosted parties there ourselves. It is so convenient to be able to just show up have fun and leave without having to do set up clean up or anything else. They even give you an email invitation you can send out if you choose to use that. It is my children's favorite place to go and I love to take them there to burn off energy, we do open jump as well as just a attend parties. I would highly recommend this place especially here in our rainy State it's nice to have somewhere to go that the kids can have fun and you can easily monitor them! read more

My children love going here, but over time we have seen a decline in the quality of the inflatables. There are two rooms of inflatables and while some are great, others are in poor condition - many leaks and taped up patches. Air leaks through so when you stand in the inflatables, you're practically sitting on the ground. Also, open play times on weekends are short (1hr) and not enough for the kids to finish playing. The general quality is not high and maintenance is low, but it is the only inflatable bounce house in Tacoma and the kids generally have fun. read more
