Their strawberries, string beans, Delicata squash, tomatoes and corn on the cob are my favorites The plant assortment is varied and huge. I love the welcome these gorgeous plant provide as I enter the stand. La Corte Farm Stand make the absolutely BEST PIES. The crust is the best I ever tasted. I also shop for their loaf cakes, cookies and crumb cakes. They sell boutique ice cream and a creamy mozzarella cheese. Yes, I'm hooked. Thank you, La Corte!

GPS got me there, and I walked into a space with tables on one side, and a very, very limited selection of produce. They did have giant tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and onions. So I bought some. I didn't look at the wine, as it was all far away on a wall, and not accessible. There are some jars of preserves. Tempting, but $11. Bit expensive. They also sell baked goods, mostly cookies and pies. Nothing was marked as "gluten-free," so I had to pass. Luckily, as fall is coming and I need to fit in my clothes. There are also some cute gift shop items, like mugs and shopping totes. And a small selection of pastas. They looked REALLY good, but definitely made from wheat. Sigh. There's gelato, which looked delicious, but alas I have some at home. I would have liked a larger selection of vegetables--I wanted lettuce, specifically--but a lovely young woman behind the counter explained that they had different things at different times, depending on supply. I forgot to ask about the wine, but perhaps I'll come back with a friend. Hopefully it's a local vineyard. This isn't my idea of a "farm stand," exactly, but it's a nice place. There is a large sign saying "La Corte" INSIDE the store. Not particularly helpful, lol, but at least I eventually figured out that I was in the right place.

And the bonus? Most of the time they are still warm on the bottom. Just the apple. The other flavors must be made elsewhere because the crust is not the same. No, I'm not a fan of that other place, just not impressed. More impressed with a place way further up county but it doesn't matter. Westchester Greenhouse makes the best Apple Pie. Yes, I have busted into this pie in the car many times. Forks ready. The pie is still hot, folks. Seasonally, the apple cider donuts are the best anywhere. Yes, better than That place. And that other one up there with the mazes, and bouncy houses and things you don't want or need or have to pay extra to walk on their property. Donuts. That's what that line is about. It moves fast. They hand you the box in the line, they are hot. And with more apple cider taste than those other places too. Apple pie and apple cider donuts. Oh and Wave Hill breads if you can't make it to the farmers markets. Everything else is a plus. Plants. Produce. Wreaths. It's all good. I should buy raspberries from them and tell them to make be a custom raspberry pie with that crust they have on their Apple.

Swooping into the parking lot to glance at the rows of tables, saw a half a dozen varieties of Heirloom tomatoes. Can't resist over sized, fresh heirloom tomatoes. They grow them and also the eggplant and cucumbers the clerk said. Some other items are locally grown for convenience as most farm stands share product to create a better shopping experience. It works. Saw some nice local potato chips, saw fruit and even pies. Went with what they grow to check them out, and some local green lettuce, super fresh that can't be beat.

I look forward to going for a fall pumpkin picking trip. they have a large selection of pumpkins, including the white pumpkins which are my favorite. "Disappointed by a Normally Great Experience"…read more I've always enjoyed stopping by Sunny Farms for lunch and usually have a good experience. However, today was disappointing. I was in a rush during my lunch hour and didn't notice until a few minutes later that I was charged $6.99 for a single bottle of water--not a case. Fortunately, I wasn't far and went back with my receipt and the bottle. What left me unsettled wasn't just the mistake, but how the return was handled. The receipt was snatched from my hands and crumpled, and though I was told I would get $7.40 back, I was initially handed only $5.40. When I questioned it, the cashier turned around, pulled out the $2, and handed it over, explaining the process as if I had misunderstood something. No apology was offered for either the overcharge or the mix-up with the refund. I get that mistakes happen--we're all human--but customer service is about how those mistakes are handled. This time, it missed the mark. I'll continue to shop here, but I'll definitely be double-checking receipts moving forward.
