Buyer Beware! I returned home from the Pumps and passports Southern Africa trip last week. Marschelle Chatman was the trip organizer and she traveled with us. I can't stop thinking about how much of a scam the women whom I traveled with and I had to endure before, during, and after the trip. I will simply list as many issues as I can recall, as there are many: - After full payments were made, messages were either ignored or dismissed with an unkind tone. - Itinerary was not given in a timely manner as promised. - The airlines we flew on were South African Airways and Mango Airlines, not Emirates as we had been promised to insure first class accommodations. We were not informed of this until after final payment was had been made. - The night before departure from New York, Marschelle set a meeting date for 7:30pm in the hotel lobby. I stayed in the lobby until 9:30 and she never showed. - Upon arrival in Johannesburg, we had a connecting flight to either Zimbabwe (8 of us traveled together) or Zambia (the other 12 including Marshcelle traveled together) to reach Victoria Falls. My friend, whom I was traveling with, went to Zambia and I went to Zimbabwe. We had no idea of this until a few weeks before the trip. - We were given misinformation about Visa's for Victoria Falls and the best way to obtain them before we traveled. A few in our group had to pay unexpected fees at customs after already making full payment online prior to travel. - There were transportation issues during the entire trip. When we in both Johannesburg and Cape Town, there was not enough space for our luggage and the about of women we had traveling with us. Some had to pay out of pocket for transportation was supposed to be included in or 5 star rate. The lack proper transportation caused a few inner group to miss the beginning of the entertainment one evening at a restaurant. - There was little or no communication from Marschelle during the trip. There were many moments when we had no idea of departure times for tours. Due to not having a detailed itinerary, were also not always aware of where we were going She also was no where to be found on many occasions. She is very good at evading and avoiding! - At the end of the trip Marscelle deleted our trip Groupme. This was obviously not to leave any evidence of her foul behavior, misinformation, and false ecpectations. - There was an instance when our group was accused of not being honorable because Marschelle was left with paying the bill after dinner at restaurant. This was actually a dinner that was included with the trip (we were responsible for beverages) and the waiter used the worst possible method of collecting monies. I will post. pic of her message about the restaurant bill. There are many more issues we endured in reference to this trip. However, I would encourage all to visit Africa if you are so inclined. Just be sure to do the proper research before spending money. I had wonderful time, it just wasn't what I was promised nor expecting for the price.

Who doesn't love a bunch of silly adults playing kickball once a week, on Thursdays at either 7 or 8, while drinking beer, occasionally dressing up for theme nights, and kicking big red balls. If you feel like hanging out after the games most people meet up at Neighbors in Sylvan park to continue the festivities. If you like to have fun I recommend going to the WAKA website and signing up for next season. You can either get a group together or if you sign up solo you will be assigned to a team. Don't worry about not knowing anyone, everyone I have met has been awesome!

This is a perfect organization to join if are new to town or just looking to network. The games were on Thursday nights. They started at 7 p.m. with another round starting up at 8 p.m. Sometimes there were double headers, which, I almost liked even more because it was like getting in extra practice time! I would say bring a big can of bug spray because I did get eaten alive during the games. The theme nights were so much fun! This year we kicked it off with superhero night, followed by PROM, Pirate and a Nautical themed night. You do get a pretty cool WAKA tee shirt for joining the leauge. After the games, a big lot of us head over to Neighbors to get some beers. Which is an added bonus because if your team dressed up the best on the theme nights, you could win pitchers of beer. I also like the mid season and end of season parties on the agenda too. All in all, 99.65% of the people are a bunch of big ole goofballs that like to have fun. Yeah, there are some people that are a little TOO hardcore about kickball and there are some people who don't show up (you have to have a min. about of players on the field to play) which can damper the party, but all in all the good sucker punches the bad in the face with awesome. Thanks YELP for letting me play for Free this year, I will more than likely be a full fledged paying member after all the fun I had so far!

Thankfully one of my clients recommended CABLE to me and I attended a couple of the local coffee meetings and quickly decided to join for myself. It has been the very best decision I have made for myself since moving here. I LOVE CABLE. The woman that are involved in this organization are absolutely wonderful, educated, supportive, helpful, warm, friendly, and represent the best of the best in services, and companies that are actively doing business in TN. Many companies pay for their employees to belong to this.....I actually just paid my own membership and totally recommend to anybody to just do it for yourself and don't worry about what you will gain...it is worth it ----you pretty much can get as involved in this as you would like to be joining different committees, making friends and participating in events they have going on. etc. etc. There is a monthly luncheon that is optional and you will be given a wonderful opportunity to hear some motivational and inspirational speakers while meeting new ladies all the time and given a chance to speak up and share your own story ...so if you want to network for business or social purposes this is a fabulous place to do that...You can always come as my guest or contact me if you have specific questions always happy to share something that has really helped me personally... ACTUALLY---I am a yelper due to a fellow CABLE member sharing what YELP is and why I would love it....
