What the staff failed to disclose was that the lounge was closing within about 10-15 minutes. Shortly after we entered, we were told they were shutting down the music, brcause they are closing at 0.00 am. Had we been honestly informed before paying the entrance fee, we would never have entered. Instead, we were left with no choice but to leave after only about 10 minutes without enjoying anything. Charging customers a full entrance fee while knowing the establishment is about to close is extremely unprofessional and shows a lack of transparency and integrity. Businesses should treat their customers fairly rather than taking advantage of them. It was not a classic foie gras, it was smoother with a creamier texture and more buttery flavor. Eating it with the fig jam and "light as clouds" toast made it absolutely delicious! I enjoyed every minute and mouthful--would definitely seek this place out again even though I live an hour away! We enjoyed ourselves too much to take pictures!

My birthday was noted on the reservation, but there was no acknowledgment of it when I arrived. I'm not expecting a grand celebration, but for a place with such a classy, trendy, upscale reputation, I expected a warmer welcome and at least some acknowledgment of the occasion. To me, service and hospitality are a huge part of the dining experience, and that initial welcome just didn't set the tone I was hoping for on my birthday. A heads-up if you're driving: there isn't parking immediately nearby, so expect to walk a little. Also, pay attention once you're on the street because GPS can be a little misleading when trying to locate the entrance. Thankfully, our server, Alexia was great! She was very kind, sweet, and attentive. I actually had to tell her myself that it was my birthday, and once she knew, she did what was necessary to acknowledge it and make the occasion feel a little more special. I really appreciated her for that. The food was good as well. I didn't end up trying any of their cocktails, which is unusual for me, especially during a birthday dinner. By that point, the overall experience just hadn't put me in the celebratory mood I had expected when I chose Yvonne's for the occasion. Maybe my expectations were higher because this was somewhere I'd wanted to visit for so long, but hospitality matters to me, especially at an establishment like this. Amanda helped turn things around, and the food was good, but the overall experience still left me disappointed. Will I come back? I'm honestly unsure.

A manager came over to ask if anybody had visited us, apologized for the delay, and returned with our drinks. I'm estimating it was a bit over 30 minutes or so before drinks arrived. Our waitress did return, apologized and took our food order. I wasn't so sure about ordering sushi, but glad we did. The maki we tried were very good, fresh and beautifully presented. A great start. We switched gears for our entree and went with a parpadelle bolognese. A nice generous portion that was as good as some of the Italian spots in the area. Our friends also enjoyed their dishes. Portions were generous and prices were reasonable. I would easily have given 4 stars, but the service needs improvement. You would need to plan to spend at least a couple of hours for a lunch. In our case it was not a big deal as we were enjoying time with friends, but I can understand the other negative reviews now. We do plan to return to work our way deeper into the menu, and hope they will have more staff to help with the front of the house.
