There are several drinks refrigerators, 6 or 7 in all, with a variety of sodas, water, iced teas and and, of course, beer. My focus was on diet sodas and the choices were limited. The cashier repeated himself again and asked we if understood. The only sign I saw was a limit of $5 for a credit card charge. So I picked up the bigger bag which was labeled for $5.99. The cashier proceeds to say $6.50. I don't remember ever getting extra charged for food products. Again, there were no signs except the prices stated on the bag. Worst service ever. I redeemed my scratcher/lottery winnings twice at this store and both experiences were terrible. The first time I redeemed a lottery winning and some older lady printed another ticket for me and disappeared from the counter and never came back. I wanted my payout and I was so confused when she just handed me a new ticket and left before I had a chance to say anything. For my second visit, I was redeeming a scratcher and a woman slightly younger than the previous woman I seen before said part of the barcode was unreadable so she cannot pay me out. They even have a wide variety of alcohol available. Unfortunately, I would not recommend you come here because 1. it's quite expensive and 2. they are not taking safety precautions against COVID. 1. A bottle of Patron here is $60+ when it's normally $40-45. I normally would have overlooked this, because I understand since it's a small liquor shop, if it weren't for the next point... 2. There was a young customer in front of me buying cigarettes and the old Asian lady working behind the counter, upon seeing the young man's ID, told the guy, "you're only 18, you shouldn't be smoking cigarettes. I reported her to the CA Lottery and they will investigate this matter and go out there to remind them of their obligation and responsibility when they agreed to the contract. Growing up in Daly City my whole life, never have I felt so interrogated in a given store. The owner of this store will go to the extent of disrespecting you (especially if you're young or look like a student) by staring at you the duration of the time you're in the store. At first, I didn't believe that the owner does this to his clients, until I noticed an ongoing pattern each time I came to this store. He will stare you down to make sure you aren't stealing anything. This applies to an even higher extent if you have a bag or backpack with you. Dec 2021, I went there to buy a PowerBall lottery ticket, the woman behind the counter, she may be Middle Eastern or East Indian, about in her 60's, with a semi bitchy look. I told her I would like to get a PB quick pick please, she looked like she was not listening, I asked again and handed her a $20 bill, she took it and ask if I want to use it all for tickets, I said I just want one, she said she does not have change. I ask if someone bought a pack of gum, would she have change, she again said she does not have change for a $20. I understand that a store do not make much at all from selling a ticket, but if one do not want to sell a ticket and give change for a $20, then why bother selling tickets, it gives me the impression of beggars being choosers. She was not rude, just not friendly and it was obvious she did not want to sell a $2 ticket and give change for a $20 bill. This is not the first time I've been there, I go there once in a blue moon and have always felt their unfriendliness. My elderly father has been there before also to buy lotto tickets and the person(maybe a different one) ignored him, while taking care of customers that were after him. The old owner of this store are good people. The new ownership is really bad. About a week ago I went to this store to redeem my winning lotto & to buy more lotto tickets but this Asian woman behind the counter so rude & told me in a very offensive voice " we just opened the store & I don't have money yet to cash your ticket" She ordered me to go next door. I was shock by the way she talked to me & felt embarrassed because there are other people in the store. Today I went to buy lotto ticket again in that store hoping that it would the young man who is behind the counter, but no it was again the rude woman. Inspite of what she did to me last time I remained calm & said hello. I handed her my winning lotto ticket & she gave me the money I won. Next I handed her my lotto slip to play some more lotto & while she was in front of the lotto machine I asked her if she can also give me a quick pick ticket. Wow! This woman just snapped at me & told me " wait a minute, just one at a time." " you are going to fast for me, I only have one hand". Again she was saying this in a very rude & offensive voice. I though I was doing her a favor to expedite my transaction so she won't be going back & forth from the lotto machine. I'm so embarrassed for the 2nd time because again there are other customer in the store. I just hold my anger & left. I didn't want to go below her level.
